Dancing with the Stars Elimination: Niecy Come, Niecy Go

While Niecy Nash’s departure last night on Dancing with the Stars is rough for Reno 911 zealots everywhere, America should take pride in ushering her so far in the competition. Ultimately, she was the fifth-best dancer — if we accept that Pam Anderson deserved fourth and Chad Ochocinco actually deserved sixth. Now that she’s off, is anyone else hoping she’ll start a low-octane fight with Elisabeth Hasselbeck ? Keep this woman in my newsfeed, please! Video of her elimination after the jump.

‘Dancing With the Stars’ Eliminates Comedian Niecy Nash

‘Reno 911!’ star says she’s proud of her performance, even though she can’t ‘hula-hoop with a Cheerio.’ By Kelley L. Carter Niecy Nash on “Dancing With the Stars” Photo: ABC Considering that her low scores throughout the competition, it wasn’t too much of a surprise that funnywoman Niecy Nash was eliminated from “Dancing With the Stars” on Tuesday night. She was joined in the bottom two by Cincinnati Bengals football star Chad Ochocinco and his partner, Cheryl Burke. Nash and her partner, Louis Van Amstel, were the lowest scorers Monday night. Their Viennese waltz failed to resonate with judges, who said there were too many odd transitions. Still, Len Goodman said Monday night that he was pleasantly surprised and thought the dance had a “lovely floaty” quality about it. Their next dance was a ’90s-themed paso doble. Judge Bruno Tonioli said that Nash was a “scary mama” and liked that she threw herself into it, but he wasn’t sure if it would end in disaster at various points in the routine. After learning that she was being eliminated, the “Reno 911!” star said that she was happy she’d made it that far. “I do feel like a redeemed myself. I am a 40-year-old mother of three, I’ve got three C-sections under my belly,” Nash laughed. “I was able to survive in this competition this long. I can not hula-hoop with a Cheerio, but I’ve been able to be one of the last women standing in this competition. I’ve had a fantastic time being able to live out my dream. I’m a happy girl.” She also thanked Van Amstel for “molding this lump of clay into something.” Now, there are four celebrities left, and Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger is considered to be the front-runner to win the 10th season finale. Others moving on to compete next week include ESPN reporter Erin Andrews, Olympic skater Evan Lysacek and Ochocinco. Were you sad to see Niecy Nash eliminated from “Dancing With the Stars”? Aiden Turner Voted Off Dancing with the Stars

This week, Dancing with the Stars voters got it right. Or at least we did. If the goal were truly to rid the show of its worst performer, Kate Gosselin would have been gone last night … and likely the previous two elimination rounds, too. But Dancing with the Stars is as much a popularity contest as a competition, and All My Children star Aiden Turner lacked it, as well as talent. Not a good combo. Still, host Tom Bergeron tried to tease us at the onset: “A favorite might be going home tonight.” THG might get an exclusive sit-down with Brangelina today, too. Despite her alleged breakthrough, Kate Gosselin was in the bottom three with Turner and Niecy Nash – the three poorest performers Monday, to voters’ credit. From that point on, you knew the fix was in for Kate Turner was toast. Unfortunately, Edyta Sliwinska was eliminated last night. Monday evening “was the first time I had total and complete fun and I’m addicted and I’m totally going to cry if it’s over,” Kate told co-host Brooke Burke Tuesday. She was deemed safe before Aiden and Niecy, though, so she’ll be back next week for “movie night,” whatever that means. Turner’s take on being exiled? “Each week I came out here to give it my all,” he said, smiling. That’s all you can do. Bow down to the dancing goddess that is Kate Gosselin and move on. Who are you rooting for on Dancing with the Stars?
