It’s been a good Thanksgiving for Chris Brown. The polarizing singer spent the actual holiday hooking up with Rihanna , and then awake this morning to positive legal news: Neither he nor Drake will face any charges for a brawl that broke out in a NYC nightclub this summer between their entourages. According to TMZ insiders, the investigation into the bottle-throwing fight that broke out on June 14 is complete – and there is no evidence to charge Brown, Drake or anyone associated with either singer. The stars, of course, have clashed for months over their personal connections to Rihanna, and the rivalry reached its apex this summer when words and middle fingers were allegedly exchanges at at WIP nightclub. The Chris Brown and Drake fight resulted in a nasty chin gash for the Teem Breezy President, supposedly from a bottle thrown by someone at Drake’s table, along with various complaints and injuries from others at the establishment. San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker sued the club for a wound to his eye; he is seeking $20 million damages. However, law enforcement officials say surveillance video from the night is is blurry and multiple interviews conducted by the NYPD with witnesses have proven to be inconclusive.
Hi my name is Carmela. I am extremely happy to actually have the opportunity to post My Bieber Experience. Let me start off by saying since 2009, I have been a dedicated belieber . I always have been known as, “Carmela the girl who’s in love with that Bieber kid.” My friends thought I was crazy, my parents still think I’m crazy but as Justin once said, “ ‘They’re not too obsessed. Nah, you know, I think my fans are really supportive and I’m glad that I have really devoted fans.” I simply can’t stress this enough, I love Justin Drew Bieber. This is the story of my dream of meeting Justin had finally came true. I was sitting at my computer at 10am with my dad, refreshing Ticketmaster. Justin Bieber was coming to MY neighborhood. Here I am, freaking out, while my dad is concentrated on finding the cheapest tickets. To be honest, at that point I didn’t care. I just wanted to be able to see Justin live. We bought four tickets at $90 each. They were in section 217 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. I called my 3 friends and screamed as loud as possible. And I thought this was good . A few months later, my uncle invited my cousins and I to a Brooklyn Nets basketball game at Barclays Center. My uncle’s sister happens to work at the Barclays Center and brought us into the Owner’s Suite . Ok this might sound off topic but this has to do with my Bieber experience, trust me. I was talking to my uncle’s sister and she mentioned how Justin Bieber was coming to the Barclays Center and how crazy it was going to be. I think I scared her when I jumped up and said, “IM GOING TO THAT CONCERT.” By the end of the night, she gave me her email telling me to email her to talk about the Bieber concert. I automatically knew something good was going to happened. I emailed her the next morning telling her where my seats were. I checked my email every single day and got NO REPLY. All I thought was, “That’s it, she’s ignoring me.” I tried telling myself that she is a very busy person and probably won’t reply for a while. After a couple of weeks, she finally emailed me back. I opened the email just to read, “Hi Carmela! I’m trying very hard to see what I might be able to do. The concert is sold out but I will try my best! ” Great. That was it. My dream was destroyed. I lost all hope. After a little I started to realize I was lucky enough to even be going to his concert, not every belieber has this opportunity. But my story is NOT over yet. The day before the concert I decided to check my email just to see if I had any emails. Ya know the usual. This time, I got an email from the lady. I opened it and it said, “Carmela I have 4 suite tickets for tomorrow! You and your friends are welcome to come. We will have a great view of JB! xoxo.” THIS MADE ME GO CRAZY. I was going to be decently close to Justin sitting in a suite, which was pretty cool because I was originally sitting at the very peak of the stadium. My friends and I were happy beyond belief. My day was finally here, November 12th, 2012. My friends and I spent the whole day getting ready. We were so excited words cannot explain. We got to the arena 3 hours early (just because of how anxious we were) and my dad dropped my friends and I off in front of the VIP entrance because we were supposed to meet the lady there since our tickets were inside. There were about 50-60 other fans waiting outside the VIP entrance with the hope of someone letting them in. I showed the security and workers the email that the lady sent me and they put ONLY my friends and I aside and said, “These girls are the only ones allowed in as of now.” Girls were screaming, crying and planning ways to sneak in. I felt so bad because I once knew how they felt. All I was saying was, “IMAGINE we meet him. Just imagine.” But I never, ever thought it would actually happen…. Then I saw my uncle’s sister walking through the crowd entering through VIP. I quickly tapped her shoulder and she said, “Oh sweetie you can come in later but I can’t bring you in now.” I then saw her daughter and her daughter’s friends inside and I knew that something was going on. I looked at her and begged, “Please, omg, PLEASE.” She told me she would “see what she could do.” She went inside and came back within 5 minutes. “Come with me,” she said. I watched as all the girls surrounding me looked at me and my friends as if we were the worst people on the planet. We walked into the building and I asked the obvious question, “Are we meeting Justin?” The lady said, “Well, that’s the plan!” THAT’S THE PLAN. THAT IS THE PLAN. That line repeated in my head over and over and over. My friends and I tried so hard to contain ourselves because we were in the presence of like billionaires. Everything was happening so fast. A week ago, we had the worst seats in the arena. The day before, we had pretty decent seats. Today, we are meeting him. We were then escorted to the basement of Barclays Center into a private room . People kept coming in and out to give us updates on when to come out. We didn’t have meet and greet wristbands or anything. We were just going to get in because of my uncle’s sisters position. “This is crazy.” “Is this real life?” That’s all we kept saying. We waited anxiously until some guy finally called us out. We all went behind the meet and greet and saw everyone who was on the line for the m&g. We then saw Justin. With our own two eyes. Justin’s crew was there and everything. Everything was happening so fast. We turned the corner of the black curtain and there he was. The most perfect human being on planet earth. He was so perfect he almost looked fake. It was shocking to see someone who I’ve seen on TV or on my computer screen for the past 3 years and now he was right in front of me. I walked in I stood next to him. His photographer was showing him one of the meet and greet picture he took and in the picture he was making a funny face. He goes, “Ahaha yo that’s hysterical!” and he had the cutest little giggle in the world. He then wrapped his arm around my waist and we took the picture. I turned to him and we just stared in each others eyes for a good 10 seconds. Then he hugged me and I just said to him the only words that could come out of my mouth, “I love you.” Over and over again. The thing that sucked about the meet and greet was that they rush you out. I then smiled and said to him “You’re perfect oh my god.” He was so sweet. He said to my cousin, “Come here sweetie,” so that she was in front of him for the picture. He told us we were so sweet and to enjoy the show. Then to top it off, walking backstage we ran into Cody Simpson and Jaden Smith! Cody passed us and said, “Hey ladies!” and Jaden who was down the hallway was jumping up and down waving saying, “HEYYYYY!!!!” This was honestly the best day of my life. If you haven’t met Justin yet, all I could say is never stop believing, because dreams clearly do come true. -@carmelaaxo Visit link: Hi my name is Carmela. I am extremely happy to actually have the…

The X Factor celebrated Thanksgiving a day early tonight, as the top 10 finalists dedicated various hits to those for whom they are thankful. Which singer stuffed his or her rendition with impressive talent? Which laid a (turkey) egg? Read on a quick rundown and vote on your favorite from the two-hour episode… CeCe Frey – “Wind Beneath My Wings” Carly Rose Sonenclar – “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” Tate Stevens , “I’m Already There” – Britney called it “special.” We say it was closer to “safe,” which is perfectly fine for this consistent contender. Diamond White , “Because You Loved Me” – Demi was “blown away” – and for good reason. Combined talent very well with emotion. Emblem3 , “Secrets” – All flash. Very little substance. Focus on the vocals and not the hotness, ladies, and there’s not much here. Arin Ray , “Hero” – Dedicated to his brother… which means he must hate his brother. Just a terrible version of a cheesy ballad. CeCe Frey , “Wind Beneath My Wings” – In memory of her late sister, who died at the age of 7 from Cerebral Palsy. Raw, emotional, stunning. We were moved. Fifth Harmony , “I’ll Stand By You” – Definitely the best group performance. Solid arrangement, executed well, should move on. Beatrice Miller , “Chasing Cars” – A somewhat odd song choice, but Britney believes it was her “best vocal performance by far.” We disagree. How about you? Vino Alan , “Proud to be an American” – Yes, he really did hold a flag in his hand. Utterly forced, contrived and way too sappy, even on a night like tonight. Paige Thomas , “Everytime” – She went Britney and didn’t do a terrible job. Got the Spears seal of approval, but L.A., Simon and Demi all think she may be voted off this week. Carly Rose Sonenclar , “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” – Just terrific. Someone had to go with this single, right? We’re just thankful it was Carly Rose. Could easily win it all. What did YOU think? Who was the best of the night? CeCe Frey – “Wind Beneath My Wings” Carly Rose Sonenclar – “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” Tate Stevens – “I’m Already There” Diamond White – “Because You Loved Me” Emblem3 – “Secrets” Arin Ray – “Hero” Fifth Harmony – “I’ll Stand By You” Beatrice Miller – “Chasing Cars” Paige Thomas – “Everytime” Vino Alan – “Proud to Be an American” View Poll »

Ang Lee ‘s Life of Pi is a doubled-edged argument for the transcendent capabilities of film. Its central section uses the latest technological achievements to transform the fantastical, fable-like tale of Yann Martel’s award-winning novel into some of the most innovative and wondrous images to flicker across the big screen this year. And in its framing story, one it returns to periodically as if needing to keep the audience from getting too caught up in the gorgeous abstraction of its narrative at sea, it provides a reminder of why we should trust more in those images, as it ploddingly trots out its source material’s heavy-handed and unnecessary delineation of its own themes. Those themes include faith and what fuels it. And in case anyone watching is in danger of not picking that up, Rafe Spall, in the role of a fictionalized version of Martel coming to interview the title character (played by Irrfan Khan as an adult) at his home in Canada, announces that he’s been promised a story that will make him believe in God. The nature of that God is a general one — Martel, and David Magee, who wrote the screenplay, are more interested in the idea of religion rather than one in particular. As a young boy, played by Ayush Tandon, Pi Patel becomes enchanted by Hinduism, then Christianity, then Islam, practicing them all with no sense that they need clash. As a grown man sharing his extraordinary tale of survival with a stranger who has come his way by chance, Pi remains a figure of strong but vague spirituality, though the film’s ultimate assessment of why people choose to believe in a higher power seems unlikely to please the devout. Life of Pi is also, more compellingly, about storytelling: the way we choose to present and frame the events that happen to us. Long before he’s stranded at sea with a tiger for company, Pi’s life is one that’s filled with strands of magical realism. Born in Pondicherry in French India, he’s named after a swimming pool in Paris that his uncle once visited. Its clear water is presented by the film as looking like air until swimmers ripple its surface as they dart across the screen. He and his brother Ravi (Vibish Sivakumar) spend their soft-focus childhood growing up on a zoo run by their reason-loving father (Adil Hussain) and their softer, more nurturing mother (Tabu). The animal inhabitants are showcased in a delightful opening credits sequence — all except the newest arrival, a Bengal tiger with the unlikely name of Richard Parker. The tragedy that strands a teenage Pi (played by perfectly adequate first-timer Suraj Sharma) in a lifeboat with Richard Parker in the middle of the Pacific Ocean is a terrifyingly realized storm that takes down the freighter transporting the Patel family and their menagerie to a new life in Canada. Water, whether in the form of a remembered pool or an angry sea swamping the deck of a ship, is the element that buoys the film along. Lee uses it as the medium for some unparalleled instances of 3-D, first in how our protagonist is thrown onto his tiny boat with a few panicked animals, riding giant waves that bring the larger vessel down to a resting place of haunting and tragic beauty. Later, as Pi and his dangerous companion struggle to reach some kind of accord that will allow for their mutual coexistence on a very limited space, the ocean stretches endlessly around them as a force of mystical capriciousness — sometimes it’s a mirror-still reflection of the sky, another time it offers up sustenance via a school of flying fish or takes it away in a dreamily alarming brush with a whale. The sea dwarfs the odd pair of travelers, the camera sometimes swinging out above the lifeboat to show it as a small blip in a vast body of water that resembles the cosmos. Pi’s continued existence and trials may be thanks to the whims of the universe — “I give myself to you!” he yells to whatever deity might be listening, “I am your vessel! Whatever comes, I want to know!” — but it’s his relationship with Richard Parker that provides the human side to this existential crisis. A seamless blend of real tiger and CGI, Richard Parker is a fully believable creation, and while Pi searches him for some sign of a soul, of some connection between living things, Life of Pi is careful not to anthropomorphize him. He’s a formidable beast, a potential killer, and the film’s best representation of its central question of whether there’s some design to existence or if it’s just a collection of chaotic and sometimes awful events. Unfortunately, Life of Pi also prods at this question during periodic returns to the present day with the grown Pi and Martel, and the scenes create the sensation of an author leaning over your shoulder as you read to point out all of the symbolism he doesn’t want you to miss. The story of Pi and Richard Parker already has the clean simplicity of a myth and really doesn’t require significant elaboration, but following in the footsteps of the source material, the film provides elaboration anyway, demonstrating a condescension to the audience that dulls the spectacle it punctuates. The past and the present day become an example of not just the contrast between the classic poles of showing and telling but of the fundamentally cinematic and the not. Pi’s reliability as a narrator is one of the key aspects of the story, but the heightened sensibility of his account is contrasted not with some underlying sense of another reality but of a framing story that’s only there as a vehicle for authorial exposition. Lee’s movie is a grand gesture of filmmaking pushed to its furthest technical edges, but hemmed in and confined by its fidelity to words on a page. Follow Alison Willmore on Twitter. A widow (Vera Farmiga) lounges with her teenage son Norman (Freddie Highmore) in the grass near their new home. How bad could things possibly get? Since this is your first look at A&E’s Bates Motel , in which the fresh-faced Highmore plays a young Norman Bates , and Farmiga his dear mother, the answer is, well, a LOT. Bates Motel is created by Lost ‘s Carlton Cuse and Friday Night Lights ‘ Kerry Ehrin, and is also set to star Max Thieriot ( The House At The End of the Street ) as Dylan Bates, Norman’s brother and one of a few newly conceived characters joining the previously established world of Hitchcock’s Psycho . (Read Movieline’s chat with Thieriot here .) The series doesn’t hit the airwaves until next year, but it’s no surprise A&E is seizing their chance at building buzz now, with Hollywood in a period of Hitchcock mania; the Anthony Hopkins-as-Hitch dramedy Hitchcock opens in limited release this week, while HBO’s more serious, skeezy portrait of the Master of Suspense The Girl debuts this fall. What intrigues about this Bates Motel first look, meanwhile, is twofold: First, the hint of a moody-emo shadow in Highmore’s face — young Norman still seems innocent, but we know that’ll change soon enough. (Plus, he totally nails that young Anthony Perkins look.) More provocative still is the sheer distance in Farmiga’s eyes as she gazes away from her child, her new hotel, her life. That’s acting with a capital A, people. I’ll watch just to see what kind of terrible parenting skills it takes to turn little August Rush into a psychopath. [via The Hollywood Reporter ]
Never in a million years would I have thought that I would get to write my own Bieber Experience. I have been supporting Justin since 2009 and I was lucky enough to get the chance to meet him on November 4th 2012 . It all started over the summer when my best friend Natalie and I were surprised by our parents with M&G tickets to his Philly concert. We both were shaking so much and crying when we found out and couldn’t believe it was actually going to happen. We had been waiting to meet him for 3 years and it honestly just didn’t feel real. We decided since the concert was on a Sunday night that we would drive to Philly on Saturday and walk around the city to look for his crew and then spend the night in a hotel. On Saturday November 3rd, Natalie and I drove to Philly and were walking around shopping trying to find anyone that was part of the crew. We had been looking for almost 2 hours and it was getting dark so we started to give up. We were in Urban Outfitters and about to leave when I walked past this guy who was singing ‘One Less Lonely Girl’. I thought to myself ‘What guy would be shopping and singing One Less Lonely Girl unless they knew Justin?” When I got a chance to see his face, I knew I recognized him as part of the Bieber crew. We found out later that he was Mike Lerner, Justin’s photographer . I immediately told Natalie and we started freaking out about it so we followed him around the store for a little because we were too scared to approach him. As we were following him around, I saw Nick DeMoura enter the store. That was when we completely lost it. We were completely shaking and freaking out that the Bieber crew was right there in the store with us. We didn’t know what to do because we were so overwhelmed. Finally we saw that Nick was leaving the store but I knew I couldn’t let him leave without talking to him. We ran after him and asked if we could have pictures with him and he said yes. He was so sweet and nice. Then we saw Mike leaving and asked him for a picture too. We got to talk with him about how we were going to the concert the next day and he was really cool too. After that, Natalie and I were completely freaking out. The next day (day of the concert) we woke up at 7:00 AM and started getting ready. We go to the arena at around 8:00 AM and just waited. Keep in mind it is November in Philly which means it was around 40˚F out. We waited outside from 8 AM until around 2 PM. During this time, we met tons of other beliebers who were trying to get tickets, got to see Justin’s grandmother, and got these awesome bracelets that say ‘Bieber Nation’ on them from someone in Justin’s crew. We had to leave the arena at 2 because we had to get ready for the M&G. The M&G started at 4 so when we got back to the arena at 3, we waited outside some more where we got to see Justin pull up and Alfredo get out of the tour bus. Finally we had to go inside to get in line for the M&G. We were waiting in line when I saw Alfredo walk by. He is my favorite member from the crew and when I saw him walk by I was completely in shock. I couldn’t believe it. I was so mad at myself for not saying anything to him but then he walked by again and I immediately said hi and asked for a picture. I couldn’t be more thankful that he said yes because I could tell he was in a rush but he stopped anyways to take a picture with me and it meant so much. After that I almost started crying but I knew I couldn’t because I would be meeting Justin in less than 5 minutes. We were led down these stairs where we saw the black curtain that we knew he was standing behind. Right before we went in, we saw Dan Kanter but we couldn’t get a picture with him. We also got to meet Kenny right before we went in. When I walked in I couldn’t believe how perfect he looked. His jawline was incredible. His skin was flawless. I remember looking up and making eye-contact with his beautiful hazel eyes and then I swear I blacked out. I don’t remember Mike saying “Ready? 1, 2, 3,” for the picture or the picture being taken because I think I was just in complete shock. After the picture, the security guards started saying we had to leave. I didn’t want to leave without a hug though. I went up to Justin who was holding his arms out for a hug and I just went for it. As we were hugging I felt like we were the only two people in the world and nothing else mattered. The security guards kept yelling “No hugging!” but Justin didn’t let go. While we were hugging I said “Thank you so much Justin, for everything,” and then it was over. I left the room and was completely overcome with shock. All I’ve ever wanted was to thank Justin for everything he has done for me, and that’s exactly what I got to do. As Natalie and I were leaving, we saw Dan and we knew we had to go talk to him! We were lucky enough to talk to him for a bit and get a picture with him. He was so cute. We then went outside and cried for a good hour about everything that had just happened to us. Next we went to the concert which was incredible. I got to touch Justin’s hand and I swear he has never performed better. The whole night was flawless and I wouldn’t change any of it. I am so thankful that I had this opportunity and I will honestly never forget that day. Read the rest here: Never in a million years would I have thought that I would get…
Joe Simpson pleaded no contest in his DUI case and will serve three years of probation, according to reports. He will also attend alcohol education classes. The embattled father of Ashlee and Jessica Simpson entered the plea to one misdemeanor count via his attorney Tuesday. A second count was dismissed. The 54-year-old, who has also been in the tabloids lately over his alleged trysts with Bryce Chandler Hill and Joey Anderson , was pulled over in August. He spent the night in jail after his arrest. A source said at the time that Simpson had had “a couple of glasses of wine at dinner with his wife” in Sherman Oaks (Calif.) and took a Breathalyzer voluntarily. Simpson, meanwhile, is in the midst of a divorce proceeding. His wife Tina Simpson , 52, filed for divorce in Texas last month, citing “discord or conflict of personalities” as the grounds for separation in court papers. Rumors that Joe is a closeted gay man have persisted, but the couple has said nothing publicly other than to say that the split has amicable. [Photo: WENN.com]
