Locarno to Fete Charlotte Rampling The Locarno Film Festival will present English actress Charlotte Rampling with its Excellence Award. The event will take place August 1st. To mark the occasion, the festival, which takes place August 1 – 11, will screen her latest film, I, Anna (2012) as well as two other film, The Night Porter (1974) and Under the Sand (2000). Toronto International Film Festival Unveils Asian Film Summit Organizers behind the annual Toronto International Film Festival said it will host the “Shangri-La Hotel Toronto Asian Film Summit,” which will coincide with the annual film festival at the city’s new Shangri-La Hotel. The event is being styled as a meeting place for Asian and Western film industries, bringing in film production, finance, distribution and exhibition. Jackie Chan and MPAA chief Senator Chris Dodd will attend the event. More details will be revealed later. Princess Diana Documentary Shelved Unlawful Killing , funded by Mohamed Al Fayed, father of Dodi Fayed who died in the car crash along with the Princess of Wales in 1997 is being shelved after insurers refused to indemnify the makers against potential libel lawsuits. The film questioned the circumstances of their deaths, The Guardian reports . Netflix Viewing Tops 1 Billion Hours in June The company’s CEO also said that when House of Cards and Arrested Development debut the will “blow away these record,” THR reports . Eric Sykes Dead at 89 British comedian/actor Eric Sykes passed away following a short illness. He worked in television in the U.K. and had supporting roles in films including Heaven Above (1963), Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines (1965) and more recently in The Others (2001) with Nicole Kidman and Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire (2005), Deadline reports .

Presidential intervention Tyler Perry has admitted he became heavily dependent on alcohol when his mother died four months ago and struggled to kick his horrible habit. The director spoke candidly to Essence magazine about how he used drink to ease the pain until a visit from President Barack Obama helped him face up to his problem. “I’m doing a lot better now since I stopped drinking about four months ago when my mother died,” Tyler told the magazine. “When she got sick in 2009 I started drinking every night because I couldn’t sleep — every night up to a couple of months ago. I never had a problem but I certainly was on way to having one.” “I’d have me a nice big glass of Hennessy and I would sleep through the night. It was President Obama’s visit to my studio, I don’t know what happened there, but when he came everything became clear.” “I just kind of came out of a haze. It was like, ‘Wake up, kid. You know life is still going on. I know you miss her, I know you care but wake up. Life is still going on.’” “I swear the day after he left was the day I just said I am going to sleep without it.” Must be nice to have the POTUS help you kick your alcohol addiction. Keeping Up With the Kardashians Recap: Lip Service and Dominican Drama, Part II

On this week’s Keeping Up with the Kardashians, tensions boiled over between Scott and … well, everybody, while Kris received an unwelcome surprise. Last week, we saw the beginnings of a Scott Disick and Bruce Jenner feud. Last night was certainly no different, as the former grew increasingly bitter. Also, Kourtney and Kim Kardashian wore bikinis a lot. Come along for THG’s +/- Keeping Up rekap! Scott and Rob bust into Kendall and Kylie Jenner’s suite with Rob Kardashian to scare them in the middle of the night. Pretty funny. Plus 10 . Meanwhile, Kris Jenner’s lip is so swollen from an allergic reaction that she looks like a Heidi Montag plastic surgery victim. Ouch. Minus 20 . “It’s God punishing you for giving Todd your email,” Bruce says. OWNED! Plus 90 . Bruce and Scott have more in common than they think, though. While Bruce was making passive-aggressive digs like that, Scott was … okay, there’s nothing passive about plain refusing to get out of bed because you’re pissed. Minus 10 . Hangover, schmangover, he’s just sick of them all. Minus 5 . When he finally emerges, Disick immediately is criticized by the fam. “This is exactly why I didn’t want to get out of bed. I have all these people nagging me at all times. I feel like I’m going to lose my mind.” Dude, we feel ya. Plus 10 . Scott has had enough and he packs a bag and leaves! Or at least pretends to, as the producers are often compelled to make him. Minus 15 . Bruce decides he will step up and try to help, while burying the hatchet with Scott: “I just want to be able to say something to kind of help him out and [teach Scott] how to deal with people. Life’s too short,” Jenner says. Plus 5 . “Yeah, and life’s too short for you to sit around wondering if I saw my ex-boyfriend again or not,” Kris interjects. Touche, Bruce . Touche. Plus 10 . Then the light bulb goes on. Bruce apologizes and plants a make-up kiss on his better half, gigantic upper lip and all. Plus 10 for those two. Scott shockingly reveals that … he wants to marry Kourtney and he refuses? And he’s scared every single day that she’ll leave him? Minus 15 . Plus 5 for Mason’s little beach outfit, incidentally. And Plus 5 more for Kim Kardashian ‘s bikini. And Plus 10 more for Kourtney’s, even though she’s very pregnant and some viewers were probably grossed out. She’s always beautiful. Disick rallies and comes to the family dinner in the end. Plus 15 . Now it’s time for Kourt to step up and and reassure the guy, which she does. Not that all is well, necessarily, after that. “The whole reason I had another kid with you is because you agreed to get married if we had another,” he reveals. “You broke the contract, you broke the deal, I’m not going to keep trying with you forever.” Whoa. Minus 15 . She does buy Scott a commitment bracelet, at least? Eh, Minus 40 . “The fact that she [Kourtney] told me in front of her whole family how much she loves me makes me feel good,” Scott says later. “And it’s a very cute idea.” “This love bracelet … it obviously doesn’t go with my gold accessories, but if it did I’d always wear it.” Brings a tear to your eye. Plus 10 . EPISODE TOTAL: +60. SEASON TOTAL: -330 .

And Another One… ‘Think Like A Man’ Sequel In The Works

“Think Like A Man” Sequel Planned One of our favorite movies this year is getting a sequel! It’s hardly been a secret that Sony Screen Gems has wanted to get going on a sequel to “Think Like a Man.” The studio finally made it official today, saying it’s moving ahead with a second film, hiring Keith Merryman and David A. Newman to write the script. The writing team, who also wrote “Friends With Benefits,” penned the original “Man” film. Produced by Will Packer, “Think Like a Man” was a groundbreaking African American ensemble comedy, grossing more than $91 million in the U.S. after its theatrical opening in April. That made it one of the year’s most profitable comedies, as it only cost a rock-bottom $12 million. Almost as importantly, “Think Like a Man” just squeezed past Tyler Perry’s “Madea Goes to Jail,” which earned $90.5 million, giving the Screen Gems film some serious bragging rights in terms of box-office triumphs in the black comedy field. Screen Gems isn’t saying whether Kevin Hart will be back in the sequel, though it’s almost impossible to imagine the film going forward without him, especially because he stole virtually every scene he had in the film, which costarred a host of gifted African American actors, including Michael Ealy, Taraji P. Henson, Gabrielle Union and Terrence Jenkins. Hart won’t come cheap this time around, as he’s been fielding offers from several studios eager to put him into an action-comedy. The studio also was mum about whether Tim Story, the original film’s director, would be on board for the sequel. Story, who had his first success with “Barbershop,” has also become a hot commodity with studios who are eager to get him into the director’s chair for various potential comedy projects. Hart has already signed on for another Screen Gems film, a remake of the 1986 film “About Last Night,” that itself was a re-interpretation of the David Mamet play “Sexual Perversity in Chicago.” I have to admit that it seems odd that Screen Gems is going forward with both projects, as they are both clearly comedies about a group of friends with romantic entanglements. This being Hollywood, where black stereotypes die hard, it remains to be seen whether “About Last Night” will be a remake with an all African American cast, or whether Hart, who is reprising the Jim Belushi part from the original film, will simply play the role of a white couple’s very funny black friend. Neither the sequel to “Think Like a Man” or the remake of “About Last Night” has a firm release date yet. We can’t wait! Did y’all see “Think Like A Man”? Random Ridiculousness: Woman Arrested In Front Of Her Kids For Failing To Return Twilight Book And DVD Borrowed From The Library Two Years Ago

They out here arresting folks over Twilight DVD’s now? A mother was arrested in front of her young children and spent the night in jail – all for not returning a Twilight book and DVD. Lori Teel was arrested and handcuffed at her Portales, New Mexico home in front of her five small children on June 12. She had borrowed $36 worth of library materials not returned since 2010. Police had arrived at Mrs Teel’s home after receiving a call that her husband, Jimmy Teel, had assaulted someone, according to the Albuquerque Journal. It was while they were at the couple’s house that Portales police realized there was a warrant out for Mrs Teel’s arrest for the missing young adult fiction and movie. Her attorney, Eric Dixon, says arrest warrants were mailed last year to an address at which Mrs Teel hadn’t lived since childhood. However, the mother of five was arrested all the same in front of her children, aged one through ten, and spent the night in the Roosevelt County Detention Centre. She said: ‘My kids are still very emotional. They had to stay with a complete stranger.’ She was released the next day on a $610 bond. The Twilight Saga: New Moon DVD and Stephanie Meyer’s novel Twilight both had a due date of October 5, 2010, but Mrs Teel said she couldn’t remember checking them out. However, library records show that both items were checked out in her name. A judge had placed a warrant for her arrest after she failed to show up in court, but records show that the court summons were sent to her childhood address. Now the mother is suing the city, according to UPI. Mr Dixon wrote in the tort claim: ‘Ms Teel and her small children have been traumatized, humiliated, embarrassed, subject to ridicule, and otherwise suffered pain and suffering and other damages as a result of this wrongful arrest.’ The Albuquerque Journal reported that charges against Mrs Teel were dropped earlier this week. We’re glad the charges were dropped because that’s utter ridiculousness, but it’s still horrible she had to spend a night in jail AND spend $610 in bail for some items that weren’t even worth $40!!! It all started on April 28th, 2012 when I came to NYC to look for Justin. I am from Endicott, New York and I live about 4 hours away, but I don’t care because it is for Justin. I came up looking for Justin because my friend told me where he was staying, so I went to his hotel and I waited for him.  There were only about 15 people there so I thought for sure he would stop. I waited about an hour and none of us could figure out which way Justin would come out of.  Justin’s driver pulled into the garage in the back of the hotel so we went there hoping he would stop. It was 12:44 pm and the garage started going up.  All of a sudden Justin’s car was pulling out and HE WAS IN IT!!!  He rolled down the window and took pictures with all of us. He told me he loved me and it was amazing!  It was a GREAT day. Then on Friday, June 15th, 2012 I went to the Today Show because I had fan passes. I could barely see him and it was so upsetting. After the concert me and my friend went inside Rockefeller Plaza, where all of Justin’s people were leaving out of.  I got a picture with Alfredo, Big Sean, DJ Tay James, Justin’s one blonde dancer, and Scooter Braun. Justin left right after the Today Show and went to Toronto. I drove home after the Today Show and thought, I will never meet Justin again, and that was a once and a lifetime chance, and it will never happen again. When Justin came back on Monday I couldn’t go to his signing or the concert at Apollo because I had testing.  My life was terrible.  On Tuesday June 19, 2012 I decided I will go to NYC that night to try and meet Justin again. That night I went to NYC after my Bio regent. I got to his hotel at 9:40 pm and 10 minutes later Justin ran into his hotel and nobody saw him. I was almost in tears thinking he isn’t coming out and I was so upset. Luckily Justin’s car was waiting outside and I thought maybe he will come back out. All of us waited about 5 minutes and Justin came out. He walked into the crowd and took two pictures with me. I accidentally covered the flash so it didn’t come out that good so I asked Justin for another one, he said sure! Then he left. I decided that I was going to wait and stay and try to get him again. Later that night I got a picture with Ryan Good.  Everyone kept leaving during the night because everyone thought he switched hotels. Well I ended up waiting by myself.   It was 3:30 in the morning on June 20th, 2012 when Justin’s car pulled up in front of the hotel.  Justin came out and he took a picture with me! He then started walking away and he rolled up his sleeve and goes, “Do you like my new tattoo?  That’s where i just was, getting it done.” I said yes and he was so nice! I WAS BY MYSELF!!! I drove home that day.   When I got home I got an email saying that I got chosen to go to the Fuse recording .  I called my friend and asked her to come up with me tomorrow to go see Justin. On Thursday June 21st, 2012 me and my friend drove up to NYC to go to the Fuse.  When we got there, we waited in line.   I asked Justin a question during the Fuse and he answered it.  He was so nice and sweet.  Later that night after Fuse, me and my friend went to Justin’s hotel and were hoping to meet Justin.  Sadly Justin left and went to a dentist appointment and we didn’t see him.   We met Ryan Good, Alfredo, and Scooter that night luckily.  That week Justin’s album came out I went to NYC THREE times, driving four hours each way!  I am so thankful and happy that I was fortunate enough to meet Justin and have the experiences I did with him.   I remember I used to be that girl that would read these experiences and cry because I wanted to meet him so badly, and now I am one of those girls writing this experience .  Thank you so much for reading this, and I hope to one day be reading your experience as well. NEVER SAY NEVER and don’t give up. Your day will come when you meet Justin and words will not be able to describe how you will feel. Don’t forget to BELIEVE. My name is Reiko, I’m from NYC and I met Justin on 6/20/12. My friends and I figured out where he was staying, so we decided to go. The first day we went, there was around 25 girls there and we waited for about 2 hours until he came out. He was going to take pictures but all of the girls went crazy and started screaming so he just left to go to The View, but he rolled down the window and as he was driving away he was like, “Go to The View, for me!” and he left. I had to leave, and a few days past by with no luck. On Wednesday I decided to go to the hotel again and there weren’t many people girls, only six girls because everyone else was at David Letterman, or the buyout. We decided to just wait at the hotel. The first time my friends said he came out and didnt even say hi, and he just drove away, but we weren’t mad. Obviously we understood if Justin didn’t want to take pictures this one time, since he always takes pictures and is always so nice. After a few hours, we saw his car come up, and Moshe came out, then his grandfather came out and we all waved, (he is so nice too) and then Justin came out and he came up to us. We started taking pictures and he goes, “Can we use one camera so it’s faster?” and we decided to use my camera which was a nikonD3100, and I started taking pictures of the girls, and he goes, “This girl is so nice!” and when I went to get my picture, he was so sweet. He made sure everyone got pictures then went back into the hotel. He stopped at the back and got out of his car for us and then just walked to the front. He could’ve just went through the garage without doing or saying anything, but he didn’t. We also made sure my two friends that never got a picture with him had gotten a picture first. He was so nice. For those who didn’t meet him, no worries you’ll get your turn. Words cannot explain how much he cares about us beliebers, he CARES. He doesnt only want fame and fortune, like some other artists. Thats what makes him so special, him and his music is so inspirational. In the picture with Alfredo and I, he came out through the front and my friend goes, “That’s Alfredo!” so we go up to him and after my friends asked for her picture since she never met him before and she loved him. I went up to him and asked for a kissing picture and he kissed me on the cheek and he smelled so good! hahahah! The Bieber Crew in general is so sweet and unbelievably caring.
