Will Forte Leaves ‘Saturday Night Live’

Comedian is out after eight seasons on the sketch-comedy show, Forte’s rep confirms. By Mawuse Ziegbe Will Forte performs in “The Falconer” skit on “Saturday Night Live” Photo: Dana Edelson/ NBC Will Forte is leaving his gig as a “Saturday Night Live” castmember after bringing the laughs for eight seasons on NBC’s late-night sketch-comedy show. The comedian’s rep confirmed Forte’s exit to MTV News. “After eight great seasons, Will has made the decision to move on from SNL to pursue new opportunities,” his rep said in a statement. “He is eternally grateful to [executive producer] Lorne [Michaels] and all of the incredible people he worked with over the years.” Forte has played a host of characters throughout his “SNL” career and is perhaps best known for his bumbling action star MacGruber, a thinly-veiled send-up of the ’80s action TV character MacGyver who worked ingenious ways to slip out of sticky situations. A movie version of the popular sketch hit theaters in May and Forte told MTV News that he wasn’t sweating any pressure to live up to “SNL” sketch-turned-silver-screen smashes like “The Blues Brothers” or “Wayne’s World.” “The ‘SNL’ track record is about the same as the movies-in-general track record,” Forte said. “There are a lot of crappy movies out there and a lot of great movies. Sure, there has been some ‘SNL’-based movies that have sucked; there have been some great ones.” While Forte built upon the winning formula of MacGruber, he also said he wasn’t concerned with slavishly replicating the minutes-long sketch on the big screen. Instead, the former television producer and writer, who honed his comedic chops behind the scenes on shows such as “3rd Rock From the Sun,” was more focused on creating a hilarious experience for theatergoers. “We weren’t worried about the ‘SNL’ aspect of the movie,” Forte said. “We just tried to make the best movie we could.” What are some of your favorite memories of Will Forte on “SNL?” Let us know in the comments below!

Beyonce’s Thickness in Some Crazy Tight Shorts of the Day

Anyone who defends Beyonce by saying she’s got a perfect body or that she’s not fat has to be a chick who is either fatter than Beyonce, or just a feminist who hates how men objectify women. Cuz I can tell that even when this pig is in her shorts that aren’t meant to be this tight, but that ended up this tight, like a pair of spanx, even with spanx underneath that hides her pussy definition cuz she has to squeeze her thighs into anything that fits her upper body, in some kind of ego to scared to size-up at the big and tall store cuz that would mean she’s actually fat, instead of squeezing into these XXLs that look like an unattended peice of muslim luggage ready to explode… There is just no way dudes can look at this, take it seriously, and claim to like it….unless of course they are trying to impress a chick they are trying to fuck, in a “OMG, I know Beyonce is such a natural talent and totally beautiful” during date conversation, hoping for a night that ends in anal sex….of gay and hoping the night ends in anal sex…but never cuz they actually believe it. I just know the real loser in all this is Jay Z. He has to deal with all the bullshit that comes with this fat cunt or at least pretend to when he’s not fucking Rihanna.

Hayley Williams Channels Viral Video Star Antoine Dodson On ‘Bed Intruder’

Paramore singer collaborates with New Found Glory and Relient K members for ‘punk rock cover’ of the YouTube hit. By James Montgomery Hayley Williams Photo: Christopher Polk/ Getty Images Thanks a rather impassioned speech about an attempted rape in his neighborhood, Huntsville, Alabama resident Antoine Dodson has become an unwitting YouTube sensation over the past month. Footage of Dodson’s tirade, which appeared on a local newscast, has racked up millions of views, inspired a slew of remixes (one of which even cracked the Billboard Hot 100) and earned him a rather fervent fanbase … which, apparently, includes Paramore’s Hayley Williams. On Wednesday (August 25) night, a “punk-rock cover” of Dodson’s speech — featuring Williams on vocals, with assists from New Found Glory’s Jordan Pundik and Relient K’s Ethan Luck — was uploaded to YouTube . The song opens with Williams quoting Dodson’s notorious “rapist in Lincoln Park” line; she also tackles a verse later in the song. She recorded her vocals at Luck’s house in Nashville Wednesday night on a whim (“Over at @EthanLuck’s house, recording something groundbreaking,” she tweeted , later adding, “Just dropped by … to sing a couple lines for it. Too much fun.”). In keeping with that spirit, the entire project is a rather tongue-in-cheek take on both Dodson and punk rock in general, featuring over-the-top fretwork, chugging chords and a whole lot of intertwining gang vocals. Williams did not respond to MTV News’ emails about the song, but Luck described the inspiration for the tune, the recording process and his goals for the song on his official site . “With all this hype of Antoine Dodson around the Internet, a couple friends of mine and I thought it would be fun to do our own version of ‘Bed Intruder,’ ” he wrote. “Everything was recorded at my home studio while New Found Glory had a day off from tour here in Nashville. Hayley came over this evening to add the finishing touches. I hope you all enjoy it as much as we do … It was so much fun! Maybe The Gregory Brothers, who originally [remixed the speech], will get to hear our version! Or better yet, Antoine Dodson himself!” Dare to dream, dude. Related Artists Paramore

Bad news for fans of laughing and all-around weirdness. ‘Machete’ Cast Thinks Lindsay Lohan’s ‘Gonna Be All Right’

Lohan’s co-stars praise the performance by the actress, who recently left rehab. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Kara Warner Jessica Alba, Danny Trejo and Michelle Rodriguez at the “Machete” premiere Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images Most of the cast of “Machete” was on hand in Los Angeles on Wednesday (August 25) to celebrate the premiere of their B-movie-inspired, Robert Rodriguez-directed flick. But one of the film’s stars was noticeably absent: Lindsay Lohan, who had been released from rehab a day earlier. The young actress’ road to recovery was on the mind of her co-stars. “You know what, I just care about her as a person,” Don Johnson told MTV News on the red carpet. “God bless her and she’s gonna do fine.” That sentiment was mirrored by Danny Trejo, who added, “Get home, girl! You’re gonna be all right. She’s gonna be fine. She knows what to do.” Another one of the flick’s stars, Cheech Marin, wanted to let Lohan know he supports her, and that he hopes this incident will be a catalyst for her getting her life back on track. “I wish her all the best. I mean, she’s a talented young actress,” he said. “Hopefully, she won’t let her personal life overwhelm her professional life … at some point, you gotta be responsible.” Michelle Rodriguez felt that publicly wishing Lindsay the best would not just benefit her former co-star. “I just think everybody should have in mind that when you wish the best for people around you, it only makes your country, your society, your culture better,” she explained. “So I think that we should all just respect the evolutionary paths of people and as much as we possibly can wish for the better, for light.” Earlier in the night, Jessica Alba praised Lohan , saying, “She’s so good in this movie. I can’t wait for people to see [her in] it.” Praise for Lohan’s performance also came from the film’s director. “She’s awesome in the movie. That’s what they’ll see: the actress behind all that paparazzi nonsense that follows her and won’t leave her alone,” Robert Rodriguez said. “They’ll get to see her and say, ‘Oh, that’s why we follow her around.’ ” Related Videos Lindsay Lohan: Crime And Punishment Related Photos ‘Machete’ Premieres In Los Angeles Related Artists Lindsay Lohan

The Government’s New ‘Right’ to Track Your Every Move With GPS

~So they gain even more spy powers on citizens, yet can't find a guy who jumps from cave to cave supposedly…. “Government agents can sneak onto your property in the middle of the night, put a GPS device on the bottom of your car and keep track of everywhere you go. This doesn't violate your Fourth Amendment rights, because you do not have any reasonable expectation of privacy in your own driveway – and no reasonable expectation that the government isn't tracking your movements. That is the bizarre – and scary – rule that now applies in California and eight other Western states. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, which covers this vast jurisdiction, recently decided the government can monitor you in this way virtually anytime it wants – with no need for a search warrant. (See a TIME photoessay on Cannabis Culture.) It is a dangerous decisio……………” http://news.yahoo.com/s/time/08599201315000 added by: shanklinmike

Lauryn Hill Returns, Snoop Dogg Reigns At Rock The Bells 2010

Sets by Wu-Tang Clan, A Tribe Called Quest, Rakim and KRS-One also make for an epic tour kickoff. By Shaheem Reid Lauryn Hill performs at the 2010 Rock the Bells hip-hop festival in San Bernardino, CA Aug. 21 Photo: MTV News SAN BERNARDINO, California — Hip-hop is so spontaneous that you never know where a historic moment might take place. That wasn’t the case Saturday night, however: Guerilla Union informed all of us weeks ago that history would be made on August 21, 2010, in San Bernardino. It was the kickoff of this year’s Rock the Bells Tour, and out of its six previous outings, this one was surely the most inspired and ambitious. The lineup was surreal and a fantasy wish list for hip-hop fans, including Snoop Dogg, Wu-Tang Clan, A Tribe Called Quest, Slick Rick, Rakim, KRS-One and a returning Lauryn Hill . Dope! No, this is beyond that. Unbelievable. And to raise the stakes on this outing, all the legendary artists would be performing a classic album from their catalogs. As for Ms. Hill, well, does it matter what she performs? Just seeing her for the first time in more than a decade (or for the first time period, as was the case for most fans at the concert) was a blessing. (Relive the Rock the Bells Tour kickoff minute-by-minute with our live blog over on RapFix!) Hill stole our hearts in the mid-’90s, originally as part of the Fugees. In a genre dominated by masculinity, Lauryn stood out from her peers as rap’s most unique artist. She was astonishingly talented as a vocalist and as an MC, and she could do both seamlessly. The Fugees’ The Score made her an international phenomenon, and her solo debut, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, turned her into an instant legend. That was 12 years ago, and the new music (as well as concert appearances) have been infamously sparse. On Saturday, even though she came midway through the card, Hill was undoubtedly the must-see event of the night. After Slick Rick performed The Great Adventures of Slick Rick, Rakim tackled Paid in Full and KRS-One dropped his Boogie Down productions masterpiece Criminal Minded, Lauryn took the stage. Hill started with a can’t-miss one-two punch of “Lost One” and “Doo-Wop (That Thing).” Backed by a six-piece band and three backup singers, just about all her selections were remixed variations of her classics, with the tempo sped up. This was not a woman who some reports had labeled “crazy.” Lauryn was lucid and dancing and appeared to be enjoying herself. “It’s good to see you, everybody!” she said after “Hurts So Bad.” Then, before “Zion,” Hill said: “It was 13 years ago I wrote a song about my son. August 3rd. Can you believe that? It’s not necessarily easy, but it’s beautiful.” Lauryn then instructed the band to “make it bounce.” Hill ended where her career began — with the Fugees — rapping “Ready or Not” and “Fugee La.” When she exited, an undercurrent of fans chanted “Lauryn, Lauryn!” A Tribe Called Quest had fans yelling “Thank you!” Q-Tip, Phife Dawg and Ali Shaheed Muhammad performed several selections from their timeless Midnight Marauders and threw in a few surprises. One of the original members, Jarobi, came out for “Can I Kick It?,” and Busta Rhymes (accompanied by Spliff Star) made an appearance with his banger “Stop the Party.” Q-Tip rapped his lines from “The Scenario” over the beat, then the track switched to the actual “Scenario” beat. Bust went on a rampage during his star-making verse from the song. Rhymes, Spliff and Jarobi stayed onstage for the last two numbers: “Check the Rhyme” and “Award Tour.” Wu-Tang was next with their 36 Chambers LP, and filling in for Ol’ Dirty Bastard was the “Young Dirty Bastard,” Dirt’s eldest son Boy Jones. Jones embodied his pop’s mannerisms and rebellious spirit, jumping off the stage and performing “Shimmy Shimmy Ya” with no shirt on. Jones also wore the same hairstyle as Dirty sported on his solo debut cover. The set of the night however belonged to the last act: Snoop Dogg performed Doggystyle and brought out his DPGC family Kurupt, Daz, Warren G, Lady of Rage and RBX. The Dogg utilized the big screen onstage to unveil mini-movies for each skit on his album. Dr. Dre appeared on one skit, telling his friend to do an old-school song. Snoop took that opportunity to step out of Doggystyle and do “The Next Episode.” The energy for Snoop’s set was at a high pitch for every song. Even though some members of the crowd were on their feet for more than 10 hours, everyone showed love. There was an amazing exchange during “Ain’t No Fun” and “Regulate,” during which everyone sang Nate Dogg’s part (“you better be ready,” Snoop laughed, telling Warren G, who wasn’t aware the record was in the set list); the gangster crooner is still recovering from multiple strokes. Other highlights of the Dogg’s set included “Doggy Dogg World” and “What’s My Name.” He started with “Gin and Juice” and “ended” with “What’s My Name,” but we all know a Dogg Pound party don’t stop, so Pharrell Williams appeared on the video screen in a tux singing his parts of “Minnie the Moocher.” He then did a call-and-response of Snoop’s name with the audience, before Snoop tackled “Drop It Like It’s Hot” and “I Wanna Rock.” Were you at the show? Dozens of Whales Have Died after 58 Were Stranded on a New Zealand Beach | Updates and Video Added

Dozens of whales die after 58 are stranded on New Zealand beach By the CNN Wire Staff August 20, 2010 10:35 a.m. EDT Rescuers attempt to refloat 15 stranded pilot whales at Karikari beach in the far north of New Zealand. STORY HIGHLIGHTS * Fifteen out of 58 pilot whales are still alive * The whales were found Friday morning. officials say * Officials are trying to get them back out to sea; iniitial attempts failed (CNN) — A beachgoer in a remote area of northern New Zealand found a horrific sight Friday morning — 58 pilot whales stranded on Karikari Beach. When conservation officials arrived, only 15 of the animals were still alive. The whales probably became stranded sometime during the night, said Carolyn Smith of New Zealand's Department of Conservation in Kaitaia, and that's why so many died before being discovered. “The focus for everyone right now was to try to refloat the survivors,” Smith said. To do that, officials will position the whales to face out to sea and hope that they swim back out when high tide comes. The whales “need to be held in the water for at least half an hour to allow them to reorientate themselves, before being released to hopefully swim back out to sea,” the conservation department said. A first attempt to refloat the whales was not successful Friday night. Conservation officials were going to monitor the animals overnight in the hope of trying again, maybe after moving them to Matai Bay, where sea conditions could be more favorable for refloating. The next attempt would happen Saturday morning, said Mike Davies, acting area manager at the Department of Conservation's Kaitaia office. Far North Whale Rescue, which has a team of trained volunteers, is working with the department to achieve this. Currently, New Zealand's Far North region is experiencing heavy rain and wind, both a help and a hindrance to the rescue efforts, the Department of Conservation said. It means the whales are not at risk of drying out, but it creates difficult conditions for rescuers. Adult pilot whales can measure up to 20 feet long and weigh up to 3 tons. Due to their social nature, they are often involved in mass strandings, according to the American Cetacean Society. The ACS is a non-profit group based in California that works to protect whales, dolphins and porpoises, according to its website. added by: EthicalVegan
