Drake Serves Up A Quiet Storm On ‘The Tonight Show’

Rising star delivers hushed version of ‘Find Your Love.’ By Jayson Rodriguez Drake performs on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” on Wednesday Photo: NBC Drake reached deep into his R&B consciousness Wednesday night as the rapper/crooner delivered a muted rendition of his hit “Find Your Love” during an acoustic set on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.” Decked out in all black (except for his footwear), the So Far Gone star held steady on stage and in hushed vocals opened the number over minimal instrumentation. “I’m more than just an option,” he began, over spare keyboard stabs and drum licks. “Hey, hey, hey/ Refused to be forgotten/ Hey, hey, hey/ I took a chance with my heart/ Hey, hey, hey/ I feel it taking over/ I better find your love.” It wasn’t until nearly halfway through the song when Drake picked up the tempo, though still measured and restrained. The “Find Your Love” performance marks the second time the Toronto lyricist has appeared on “The Tonight Show.” Last June, Drake joined Jamie Foxx on the Conan O’Brien edition of the late night franchise as the two performed the actor’s “Digital Girl” remix. At the time, Drake had only finished his verse to the song just hours before, recalling days later how nervous he was trying to remember his lyrics. “The biggest challenge of that whole day, aside from being on ‘Conan’ and being nervous initially about that, was [trying to] remember the 24-bar verse I just recorded the night before,” Drake told MTV News at the time. “It was an all-around challenging day, but when I’m under pressure, I always seem to rise to the occasion in some form.” MTV followed Drake in the weeks leading up to the release of his new LP, Thank Me Later. The “Drake: Better Than Good Enough” documentary will re-air on MTV Thursday at 6 p.m., Friday at 4 p.m., Saturday at 12 p.m. and 9 p.m., and Sunday at 9 a.m. Related Videos ‘Drake: Better Than Good Enough’ Related Photos Drake’s Style: From A To Drizzy Related Artists Drake

‘Futurama’ Returns With 26 All-New Episodes

I think we had a lot of stuff to get off our chests, so there are some really good episodes coming,” says series creator David X. Cohen. By Adam Rosenberg The cast of “Futurama” Photo: Comedy Central In 2003, disaster struck. After airing for four seasons and capturing the hearts of fans in the process with its incredible mix of bizarre humor and undeniable heart, Fox pulled the plug on the David X. Cohen/Matt Groening-created animated series “Futurama.” Hopes were reborn in 2007 when direct-to-DVD movies were announced for later airing as a pseudo fifth season on Comedy Central. But the real coup came in June 2009, when Fox announced that Comedy Central had picked up the show for 26 all-new episodes. The new batch begins tonight, with two episodes airing starting at 10 p.m. “I didn’t see it coming seven years ago, so it’s a pretty pleasant surprise,” Cohen told MTV in a recent interview. “We’ve had a real roller coaster on this show. We went off the air in 2003 on Fox and went our separate ways, and really didn’t have any hope at that time of coming back. It’s just not something that happens much in television. But then, lo and behold, these reruns went on along with ‘Family Guy’ at 2 a.m. on [Adult Swim] and people started to report to us that they were getting high ratings in the middle of the night, to our surprise.” “That was really the very first bit of hope we had at that point,” he continued. “And then ‘Family Guy’ blazed a trail, going to a direct-to-DVD release and then back to episodes, and that’s really when our hopes went up another notch. And sure enough, we then got the call to do some direct-to-DVD releases and subsequently these episodes. So [it’s been] a long road, but we’re pleased to be here.” Cohen admits that the call for more episodes came after the four “Futurama” movies were released to the world, being rabidly consumed by fans who still yearned for more. Before that, it was just more of the same waiting and hoping. “It remained typically dramatic in terms of our cancellation and rebirth history,” he said. “We actually finished all four of those movies not knowing we were coming back and we once again closed up shop and went home. Now in this case it was pretty quickly after that that we heard we were coming back, but we did not know yet. So I think they were really waiting to see how all four of those DVDs did before they went ahead and put us back on the air.” The end of the four movies certainly has a feeling of finality to it. “Into the Wild Green Yonder,” the last of the four, sends the series’ main players flying off into the great unknown, as Cohen says, “perhaps never to be seen again.” He added, “That was entirely representative of our own knowledge of our fates at that point.” Of the new season, he promises that, as strong as things start off — Comedy Central sent out tonight’s premiere episodes to press, and yes, they’re great — things just keep getting “better and better.” “It’s a relief to be back in our native half-hour format here, and I think we had a lot of stuff to get off our chests, so there are some really good episodes coming,” he said. But just because the team works best in their “native half-hour format,” that doesn’t mean Cohen doesn’t think the show could go bigger. Forget the direct-to-DVD movies, which are designed to be broken into individual episodes. Like “The Simpsons” a few years back, Cohen sees plenty of potential for a proper “Futurama” movie. “I actually think ‘Futurama’ is really ideal for a feature movie just because of the epic setting and the outer space opportunities and space battles — it seems better-suited for a feature movie than ‘The Simpsons,’ for example, which had a very successful movie,” he explained. “So if any Fox executives are reading this, yes I am available for that job!”

Jake Pavelka Slams "Jealous" Vienna Girardi, Will Appear on The Bachelorette AND Bachelor Pad

As if the utter transparency of Jake Pavelka’s fake relationship with Vienna Girardi weren’t obvious enough, the two will clash – gasp – on The Bachelorette! The two will square off on the July 5 episode, but The Bachelor star isn’t holding back in the meantime, slamming his lame ex-fiancee for her poor conduct. “There was a serious lack of respect in the relationship,” he tells Extra regarding rumors of Vienna’s infidelity.” I would like to think that she didn’t cheat.” The pilot said he was “shocked” when Girardi sold her story. “What did I ever do to you that you would go and sell your story to a magazine,” he asked. “Is being famous that important to you?” LOL. Said the man who’s starred on three, going on four reality shows. Sure, Vienna is a total fame whore … but she’s not the one who won’t put out . Jake Pavelka milks the end of his fake relationship for all it’s worth . Jake adds angrily: “If you don’t want to be with me, that’s OK. But there’s a very amicable way to split relationships up and she did it the wrong way!” Pavelka hilariously insists that Girardi resented his rising celebrity, including stints on Dancing with the Stars and the Lifetime series Drop Dead Diva . “Fame changes people,” he told Extra ‘s Mario Lopez. “She feels Dancing with the Stars should have been hers, but in my view, I felt like it was ours.” “She started to get insanely jealous over these wonderful things happening in life. I saw her frustrations, so I tried to include her in everything I did.” Naturally, despite the hearbreak, Jake Pavelka will reunite with Vienna Girardi on The Bachelorette to generate more publicity set the record straight. “Hopefully, it’s gonna be some closure,” he says. “America was there and stood with us at the birth of our relationship. I think I owe it to them and to myself and Vienna to let everybody be there at the end of it. So everybody understands it was real.” Frankly, Jake, if you owe us anything, it’s to give it a f*%king rest . The birth of your relationship? You got engaged on THE BACHELOR and were cast on a different reality show THE SAME NIGHT as the season finale. The agenda is quite clear. Pavelka will also show up on this summer’s Bachelor Pad as a judge. Hey, you can only sit at home and cry about a contrived breakup for so long. Whose side are you on in the Breakup of the Century?

‘Eclipse’ Cast Takes Over ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and crew appear on Wednesday’s show to promote latest ‘Twilight’ installment. By Eric Ditzian The “Eclipse” cast on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Wednesday Photo: ABC Jimmy Kimmel gave his studio a “Twilight” makeover on Wednesday (June 23) as Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and the rest of the “Eclipse” cast stopped by to chat about their upcoming flick, “Eclipse,” opening June 30. The big three came out first, followed by vociferous applause from the audience, which forced Kimmel to illuminate a special “Stop Screaming” sign installed expressly for the evening’s entertainment. Talk ranged from their globe-trotting promotional tour to secret facts about the franchise to the shooting of the films themselves. Pattinson was happy to provide an explanation as to why Lautner seems never to wear a shirt onscreen. “Whenever there’s a scene where he has his clothes on, I suggest to take them off,” he laughed. “Otherwise I don’t know what is going on.” Nor did Lautner know what was going on during a break in their promo tour — which started in Sydney, Australia, and gradually led them back to the States — when he found himself swimming with sharks in the name of recreation. “There are two things I’m afraid of: reptiles and sharks. My idea is we were going to do dodgeball or I was even going to go helicopter flying,” he said, adding that the sharks he swam with were the “big” kind. For her part, Stewart wrangled Lautner into some karaoke in their South Korean hotel. The hit of the night? Miley Cyrus’ “Party in the U.S.A.” And as the show — which includes an exclusive clip and some footage of the “Jersey Shore” cast reworking “Twilight” in a way only those G.T.L.-loving kids can — progresses, Pattinson let fans in on a little secret about the wolves in the film. “The censors wouldn’t actually allow the wolves to have genitalia,” he said. “It wouldn’t be PG-13 if the CGI wolves had genitalia. They’re like the action figures. There’s just nothing there.” We’ll be live at the L.A. premiere of “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” on Thursday, June 24. Tune in to MTV.com at 9:30 ET (8:30 Central) for our red-carpet webcast, and watch us chat with Robert, Kristen, Taylor and all your favorite stars. Johnny Weir Was ‘Awkward, Skinny,’ On ‘When I Was 17’

He was a World Junior Figure Skating champion, but Weir was no prom king. By MTV News staff Johnny Weir Photo: MTV News Although the two are bitter rivals these days, Johnny Weir shared something in common with fellow Olympic figure skater Evan Lysacek , who revealed his double life as a teen on a recent episode of “When I Was 17.” (“I was traveling all around the world to compete,” Lysacek revealed.) It turns out Weir was also racking up frequent flier miles as the young skater crisscrossed the globe to compete. But while Weir might have been on royalty on the rink, he was no prom king in high school. “I was the awkward, skinny, smart, driven kid,” Weir says on Saturday’s episode of “WIW17.” “I was an honor roll student. I spoke fluent French. I was a bit antisocial. I can’t say that I had a really booming social life.” Coming back to school after being on the road often presented Weir with some serious culture shock, he admitted. “I was traveling a lot while I was still attending public high school,” Weir recalled. “So I’d get back from all these beautiful, worldly experiences and then I’d just be the kid that got made fun of because I was a lot smaller than everyone else.” The 17-year-old may have been slight, but he was certainly graceful on the ice, though that wasn’t always apparent. Weir could be a bit less than agile away from the ice. “I won the junior world title, which means I was the best in the entire world,” he said. “The first day back when I went for my senior year, I was trying to scoot around a group of ladies and they were all a bit bigger ladies, and one of them swung around with their book bag — knocked me flat on my ass.” “When I Was 17” — this week featuring Jackson Rathbone, Keri Hilson and Johnny Weir — airs Saturday at 11 a.m. on MTV. Justin Bieber Fans Rave About Hartford Tour Kickoff

‘I thought it was really cool when he came out in the heart,’ fan Kiera said about the heart-shaped cage in which Bieber hovered over the audience. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber (file) Photo: George Pimentel/ WireImage HARTFORD, Connecticut — On Wednesday night, swarms of teenage girls took over the XL Center in Hartford to check out Justin Bieber as he kicked off his first headlining tour , in support of his album My World 2.0. During the show, Bieber dazzled the crowd with fan favorites like “Baby,” “Somebody to Love and “One Time,” but it seems the moment Bieber fans loved most was when he flew over the audience in a heart-shaped cage. “I thought it was really cool when he came out in the heart,” Kiera told MTV News as she was leaving the show. “It was, and he was, in the audience. That was pretty cool.” Devin added, “I liked when he flew around in that heart thing.” The chance to get so close to their idol proved to be a highlight of the night. With most of the glowing reviews from Bieber fans running the gamut from “great” to “amazing” to “loved it,” even his older fans, like girls the audience’s apparent median age of 14, caught Bieber Fever. Megan confessed, “I know I’m not supposed to be in love with someone that young, but I am.” Kristen added, “Well tonight’s show was really fun, and seeing Justin Bieber in real person and [hearing him sing] was amazing.” Erin admitted that Bieber’s family-friendly antics made the show even more enjoyable. “I thought it was really fun and it was really great for kids,” she said. “I really enjoyed it. I kind of came in [like], OK, I’m not gonna enjoy it.’ But I really had a lot of fun. It was a fun concert.” Bieber later tweeted that he really owed his successful first show to his fans. “When u have the support of the greatest fans in the world. U just end up smiling. Thanks,” he wrote. “2nite was just…well…i was scared. Didn’t want to let anyone down but the energy and the fans were incredible. Cant wait to do this again!” Related Photos Justin Bieber Takes Over The Bodies Of Other Teen Idols Related Artists Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber Kicks Off Tour With High-Flying Stunts

Usher appeared onstage in Hartford for a few seconds, but didn’t sing. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber (file) Photo: George Pimentel/ WireImage HARTFORD, Connecticut — Lights went down, low sticks went up and lots and lots of screaming commenced as a video of Justin Bieber playing video games plays flashed on the stage, before the teen dream finally appeared in person. Dressed in all-white, the teen idol showed off some karate moves, whipping the crows at the XL Center into a frenzy as he opened with “Love Me.” Little did they know that a few high kicks would be the least of his stunts on Wednesday, the opening night of his My World 2.0 summer tour. Bieber made his way to center stage to sing “Heartbreaker Baby.” He demonstrated his pop-and-lock skills before asking the crowd, “What’s up? We do it all for you guys!” He then slowed it down a bit, using his sugary-sweet R&B-tinged voice for “U Smile.” For “Runaway Love” he did some chair choreography reminiscent of the Backstreet Boys “As Long as You Love Me” video. “I’m feeling real good, how about you all?” he asked. “I see a lot of beautiful girls out there.” In order to see those ladies better, Bieber broke out his acoustic guitar as he sat in a heart-shaped cage that was lifted above the crowd. He played “Never Let You Go” while suspended in the air, followed by “Favorite Girl.” He then got to what has become a favorite (if envy-producing) moment in his shows. “The one thing I do when I get to every city is find one less lonely girl,” he told the room before bringing a lucky fan onto the stage, giving her roses and singing “One Less Lonely Girl.” For his next stunt, during “Somebody to Love,” Bieber and his dancers took to the air and Bieber pretended to climb the side of a building and spray-paint it. He slowed down the pace a bit for “Overboard,” which features opening act Jessica Jarrell. The girls went crazy when they held hands for part of it. He asked the ladies, “Isn’t she amazing? You guys are amazing.” Part of the night belonged to Legacy, Bieber’s YouTube-discovered backup singers, who performed an a cappella version of radio hits including Usher’s “OMG” and Train’s “Hey Soul Sister.” After leaving the stage, Bieber came out again and treated the crowd to “Up” as he descended from the ceiling in a cage. Following a break, he performed, “One Time” and “That Should Be Me.” He even sat down at the drums for “Walk This Way.” Then Sean Kingston joined Bieber onstage for their party-ready collabo, “Eenie Meenie.” “Down to Earth” was the last song of the set. But to no one’s surprise Bieber returned for an encore. “I couldn’t just leave you guys,” he said, before singing “With You” a cappella. Then he gave the girls what they wanted: “Baby.” At the very end, mentor Usher showed up said a quick “hi” to the fans and retreated backstage. Bieber soon followed and the night came to a close. The Hills Stars, Other Celebrities Share Bikini Body Secrets, Weight Loss Tips

This is bikini season and it’s time to get serious. You can take it from The Hills stars … people who have nothing to do except look good in bikinis every day. Take Audrina Patridge for example. She gets her body all beach ready by drinking lots of water, eating lean protein, green leafy vegetables and fewer carbs. “I also love shots of wheat grass,” The Hills star tells Life & Style in its cover story. “When I want to kick it up a notch, then I get Sunfare meals delivered.” Other celebrities who are no strangers to showing off their bodies in bikinis, such as Brooklyn Decker, focused on “toning up” and” definition in my abs.” The Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue cover girl and wife of Andy Roddick also consumes lots of high-protein Greek yogurt and nuts to build that muscle. Take it from Kristin Cavallari, Beyonce and others – there are easy ways to lose 10 pounds, burn calories while you sleep and other red hot tips for summer fun . Fortunately, Brooklyn doesn’t subscribe to that QuickTrim crap (talking to you, Kim Kardashian ). Her employer actually encourages a few extra pounds: “Sports Illustrated is never about losing weight. They encourage girls to eat cheeseburgers the night before. They love girls who are a little bit curvier.” No complaints here, although Cameron Diaz, with her lithe legs, flat tummy and sculpted arms, make us feel like we should work out one of these years. Lately, Cameron is doing combination exercises that blast multiple muscles at once, like squats with shoulder presses, as well as various yoga poses. Clearly it pays off!

Ryan Leslie Croons, Raps And Romances New York

Singer/songwriter delivers passionate set at Bowery Ballroom. By Jayson Rodriguez Ryan Leslie Photo: Andy Sheppard/ Getty Images NEW YORK — Ryan Leslie declared his independence in a big way Tuesday night, when the singer/songwriter performed to a packed house at Manhattan’s Bowery Ballroom on the first of a two-night residency. Leslie recently parted ways with his label, Universal Motown, after releasing his self-titled debut and last year’s Transition. But as he sets out on his own, this performance proved a worthy showcase for the talented star’s range of skill, as a singer, producer and composer. “This here is about one of my favorite holidays,” he said, moving behind the keyboard to deliver a pleasing talk-box-aided vocal homage to Zapp and Roger’s “I Want to Be Your Man” before segueing into “Valentine.” “I don’t have to say that you’re beautiful,” Leslie sang in a falsetto tone. “You’ve got plenty of other guys to say those words for you/ And I don’t got to say that you run the show/ All it takes is a word, I lose control for you. “I know you’re not my girlfriend, but/ I swear that I love you,” he sang, opening up on the chorus. Decked out in dark shades, black leather gloves and a matching vest with a denim shirt underneath, Leslie was anything but the R&B lothario. His set was more aggressive and impassioned than in the past, and he opened up the show with a rap to a rock-leaning production. But Leslie, who led a five-piece band with three background singers, still knows that his crooning is why the people came. “Addiction” and “Diamond Girl” were among the more rousing numbers of the night. The synthesized chords to “Addiction” pounded throughout the venue. “You’ve got fashion and style/ I’m loving your smile and/ the way you get down,” he sang. “I can’t see no one else/ It’s you by yourself/ in spite of the crowd.” In addition to songs from both of his albums, Leslie played a few unreleased gems and a cover of Stevie Wonder’s “You and I.” “Here we are, on Earth together/ It’s you and I,” he sang, using hushed tones for the Motown classic. “God had made us fall in love, it’s true/ I’ve really found someone like you.” What do you think Ryan Leslie’s next career move should be? Let us know in the comments. Related Artists Ryan Leslie

More Salma Hayek MILF Cleavage

After yesterday’s big purple Salma Hayek MILF cleavage spectacular , I thought I’d back it up with some pictures of the latina hottie in her sexy leather biker mom vest. I wish I was a two year old so I could say to Salma’s baby “Dude, your mom’s hot”. I’ve got a lot of friends and I’ve never had the chance to say that. Sorry guys. Anyhow, here she is leaving that show hosted by that guy who used to do Weekend Update on Saturday Night Live … Not Dennis Miller… The other guy.
