Kate Gosselin: Depressed, Defeated By Judges

Kate Gosselin turned in an awful performance last night on Dancing with the Stars . That’s nothing new, but the judges were particularly harsh, she felt. She came in confident but now her “spirits are down” after the judges ripped her Foxtrot to shreds – her score of 15 was the night’s lowest – afterward. Judge Bruno Tonioli told Tony Dovolani he’d have been better off dancing with “a coat hanger.” Jon Gosselin would likely prefer to have married one. Kate told ET that the judges’ remarks definitely got to her. “I had fun, and they didn’t seem to notice,” she said. “It’s starting to creep in a little bit. Tonight, I was trying to hold back some horrible emotions.” Those smiles faded fast . Defeated, she adds: “Probably not on live TV should I be standing there crying in front of the judges … It’s getting difficult. I’m depressed, sort of.” Tony Dovolani jokingly agreed, saying he’d had “fun… up until the judges’ part.” Was there anything at all in the judges’ remarks Kate can take as encouragement? “Carrie Ann [Inaba] said there was a teeny bit of gracefulness.” Gotta start somewhere. Follow the jump to see Kate’s awfulness in its entirety … Kate Gosselin: Foxtrot Style Are judges too mean or just honest? Do you hope Kate stays or goes tonight? Who are you rooting for on Dancing with the Stars this season?

‘Dancing With The Stars’ Recap: Kate Gosselin ‘Has No Motivation’

Nicole Scherzinger’s ‘Pretty Woman’ tango, however, earns high praise on ‘movie night.’ By Kelley L. Carter Kate Gosselin and Tony Dovolani Photo: ABC The drama was upped Monday night on “Dancing With the Stars.” Of course, comedy, music and action were in the mix too, given that the theme was “movie night,” and the celebs were shimmying and doing the splits to tunes heard in popular films. Comedian Niecy Nash and Louis Van Amstel, who wanted to come back strong after flatlining on the rumba last week, were up first. The duo performed the jive from “La Bamba,” and at a practice before the dance, Nash joked, “I’m looking forward to shaking things I didn’t even realize I had.” She ended her performance with a big kiss on judge Len Goodman’s forehead, but that did nothing to help boost her score. The judges thought the performance lacked the necessary sharpness that should be present at this stage of the game. “You got your personality into that dance, which is great,” Goodman said. “There should have been more bounce in your feet. There was plenty of bounce in your bazookas, but we wanted it more in your feet.” Still, he thought the approach to her dance was great and an improvement. “On behalf of thick girls everywhere, y’all need to vote for me. I’m tired and I’m hungry. That was a lot,” Nash joked. Score: 18 out of 30. Chad Ochocinco and Cheryl Burke hoped to build on the momentum of last week’s touchdown performance, dancing a quickstep to “Jungle Book” track, “Bear Necessities.” The judges thought the football player lost the refinement and control that he pulled off the week earlier, saying that the hold and frame were terrible. “It’s very unnerving,” Carrie Ann Inaba said. “What was lacking most was the body contact.” Score: 18. ESPN reporter Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy took a page from “Pulp Fiction” and channeled their inner John Travolta and Uma Thurman. Goodman said it was a tough routine, though they coped with it really well. “This is your best timing, ever,” Bruno Tonioli observed. Score: 22. Jake Pavelka started his dance with partner Chelsie Hightower with his pants on the ground as an homage to Tom Cruise in “Risky Business.” The couple did what the judges thought was an animated and fun cha-cha to Bob Seger’s big hit “Old Time Rock and Roll.” “You got the guts, so you better enjoy the glory. I loved that dance; the whole package,” Inaba said. Score: 23. Pamela Anderson and Damian Whitewood picked Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5” flick and tune for their quickstep and impressed the judges. “Every week you’re in character right through the dance. You never lose it,” Tonioli said. Inaba suggested that Anderson was so entertaining that she should consider performing on Broadway. “There’s something about you that is fascinating to watch,” Inaba told her. Score: 21. Kate Gosselin and Tony Dovolani did the foxtrot to “Don’t You Forget About Me” from “The Breakfast Club.” Gosselin’s partner was frustrated with her leading up to Monday night’s show. “Kate has no motivation, and I have to push her every week,” Dovolani said. The judges also weren’t thrilled. “There is some sort of grace that is developing,” Inaba said. “I give you a lot of credit for that. But when I watch you dance, it’s kind of like the Charlie Brown teacher. It never becomes a formed sentence or a formed move.” Goodman agreed, saying, “It wasn’t really a dance, it was a stroll. It had an elegance about it, but you’ve got to dance out more.” They were this week’s low scorers, with a 15. Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough danced a tango to “Pretty Woman,” and collected the night’s highest marks from the judges. “Well, Nicole, that for me was your best dance and the best dance of the season so far,” Goodman said. Tonioli called them the two players at the top of the game. “The lines were incredible,” Inaba said. “You could have taken a snapshot and it would have been art; beautiful.” Score: 29. Olympian Evan Lysacek and his partner Anna Trebunskaya took on the rumba to music from “Armageddon.” The judges found their moves sophisticated and Lysacek’s hip action fluid. “This had artistry. It had musicality. You got the hip action going. I thought you did a great job, Evan,” Goodman said. Score: 27. What did you think of last night’s “Dancing With the Stars”? By Cristina Ramos Justin Bieber and Drake perform during the 2010 Juno Awards Photo: George Pimentel/ WireImage Although he walked away empty-handed from Canada’s Juno Awards on Sunday, Justin Bieber’s performance of “Baby” stole the show when fellow Canuck Drake took to the stage, joining him in a surprise appearance. “I got some big surprises tonight for you,” Bieber tweeted before the show began — and a big surprise it was. Bieber’s performance was an acoustic rendition of the hit from his recent My World 2.0 LP (currently the #1 album on the Billboard U.S. albums chart), featuring a group of singers and a guitarist, with Drake rapping in place of Ludacris’ original (although Drake does appear in the song’s video ). “Please put away the cameras, we just in the club getting MC-hammered,” Drake rapped. “God forbid I ever trade the wisdom for the glamour / I know I’m just a boy that a woman could make a man of/ So make me one, I know that she could make me one/ I just want a woman that looks 30 when she’s 81/ Please don’t give it all away, I hope that she could save me some/ Justin, why don’t you tell them where your baby’s from?” Although Bieber lost two awards to Michael Bubl

Ke$ha Calls ‘Saturday Night Live’ Performance ‘Nerve-Racking’

‘The first time I stood on [the stage], I kinda felt like I was going to throw up in my mouth a little bit,’ she says. By Jocelyn Vena Ke$ha Photo: Sam Hendrick/ MTV News Ke$ha plans to storm the “Saturday Night Live” stage this weekend, and while it’s an exciting time for her, the singer has copped to feeling jittery about the high-profile performance. “It’s really nerve-racking,” she told MTV News on Thursday during a rehearsal break. “The first time I stood on [the stage], I kinda felt like I was going to throw up in my mouth a little bit, but then I didn’t, so that was awesome.” Ke$ha will sing her chart-topping “Tik Tok” and her latest single, “Your Love Is My Drug,” on “SNL.” “Just practicing a few times [now], I’m feeling a little more comfortable,” she said of the live performance. “It’s definitely an honor.” Asked whether she knew what she might wear, Ke$ha played coy. “I do know! All I have to say is that it might be really awesome,” she teased. “Actually, I’m pretty sure it is.” Ryan Phillippe, who stars in the “SNL” sketch-turned-film “MacGruber,” will handle the hosting duties the night Ke$ha performs. The singer has her fingers crossed for the chance to star with the actor in a skit. “We bonded. You can say that,” she laughed. “I mean, that would be ideal. I hope that happens.” She even had a sketch in mind. “Well, they’re top-secret, so I can’t tell you,” she said. “But one idea was someone recently told me I smell like shrimp in a diaper, so I thought I could do a perfume skit about me with my eau de perfume being a shrimp in a diaper. It’s very sensual.” Are you happy with Ke$ha’s “SNL” song choices? Let us know in the comments! ‘ABDC’ Champs Pop, Lock And Flip For Charities

From JabbaWockeeZ to Poreotix, the winning crews did their best for honor five young volunteers. By Kelley L. Carter The Jabbawockeez perform on “America’s Best Dance Crew” Photo: MTV On Thursday night, “America’s Best Dance Crew” champs JabbaWockeeZ, Super Cr3w, Quest Crew, We Are Heroes and new winners Poreotix joined forces for a live charity special to honor five heroic young individuals , in partnership with DoSomething.org . After all five groups collaborated for an electric opening number, each crew got their own chance to shine. Video footage showed how the crews were each partnered with a young volunteer who taught them about the charities they’ve founded. Then dancers performed routines in their honor before the organizations were given checks for $10,000. Poreotix, the most recent champions, put together a fun, animated routine set to sped-up “Alvin and the Chipmunks” music in honor of Jackie Rotman, the creator of Everybody Dance Now, an organization that teaches dance to underprivileged kids. “You guys have a lot of nuts; I said that on live TV,” joked judge JC Chazez. All-girl season-four champs We Are Heroes were up next, dressed up as powerful female doll figures (including Wonder Woman, Cat Woman and a princess). They tumbled and flipped and delivered precision dance moves to techno backbeats. It was all in homage to 16-year-old Sarah Cronk, who started the Sparkle Effect to encourage cheerleaders to start squads for special-needs kids. Quest Crew followed with a routine for 14-year-old Jordan Coleman, who made the film “Say It Loud” to promote education among his peers. The crew performed a throwback to the big-band era of music, impressing Omarion with their energy and air flares. “That was professional, right there. I got to give you guys props on your energy, your creative, unique choreography,” Omarion said. Season-two winners Super Cr3w did a fun tossup to 1980s breakdancing, entertaining with head spinning, halos and windmills. Their honoree was Marvelyn Brown, who founded HIV/AIDS education organization Marvelous Connections after contracting HIV herself. Super Cr3w had a secret weapon for the night: an 8-year-old pint-size dancer who hung in there with the big boys. “I’m almost speechless. … This kid is only 8 years old. That is unbelievable. It’s great to see you guys again,” Lil Mama said. Lastly, the masked men of the JabbaWockeeZ took the stage, and by the end of their performance, the entire audience was donning their trademark masks. They popped and locked and closed the show out on a high note for the sake of Paralympic skier Josh Sundquist, the creator of Less Than Four, a social networking site for amputees. “Welcome home, gentlemen,” Chasez told the group. “Congratulations on all your success. You guys are still world class. You give sound a shape, a visual shape. It’s artistic and it’s beautiful.” Which crew’s routine did you like best on Thursday’s show? Lil Wayne’s ‘I’m Single’ Video Gets A Boost From Birdman, DJ Scoob Doo

Clip premieres Sunday on MTV Jams and MTV2’s ‘Sucker Free Countdown.’ Lil Wayne Photo: Nino Brown The Birdman checked in with MTV News Thursday to tell us he was in full support of Lil Wayne’s new video that will be debuting this Sunday on MTV Jams and MTV2’s “Sucker Free Countdown.” “Y’all check out the new video from Junior,” Birdman said in a clip. ” ‘Nino Brown 3,’ ‘I’m Single.’ Fresh off the G-4. Moolah! Also watch out for the ‘Godfather Part 1’ DVD .” DJ Scoob Doo directed the new Wayne video (the song is one of the cuts from his No Ceilings mixtape relased at the end of last year), and the clip is part performance, part plot. “[Wayne’s girl was mad that] he didn’t make it home in time,” Scoob said of the story line. “He stayed out all night. That’s the idea I got with the song — it brought me back to watching the film ‘A Thin Line Between Love and Hate.’ Me growing up watching Martin [Lawrence], it was epic, it was a funny movie. I loved the cinematography in it. [Writing the script for the video], that was me being a fan of that movie and good music and putting it together. “Tammy Torres is the mistress,” Scoob added. “She’s the reason Wayne didn’t make it home — the reason why he’s single for the night. Natasha is the one who has heartache. She’s scorned to the point where she turns crazy and deranged. You don’t wanna cross that thin line.” Are you excited to see Lil Wayne’s new video?
