Study Shows 47% Of Black Men In Chicago Are Neither In School Nor Working A new study shows that almost half of all young African American men in Chicago are neither in school or unemployed according to Chicago Tribune reports: Forty-seven percent of 20- to 24-year-old black men in Chicago, and 44 percent in Illinois, were out of school and out of work in 2014, compared with 20 percent of Hispanic men and 10 percent of white men in the same age group, according to the report from the University of Illinois at Chicago’s Great Cities Institute. The numbers for black men are far worse in Chicago and Illinois than elsewhere in the country. In Los Angeles and New York City, 31 percent of black 20- to 24-year-old men were out of school and out of work, in line with the national average of 32 percent. While declines in youth employment across all races have raised concerns for a number of years, the new report puts into stark focus the connection between unemployment and Chicago’s racially segregated neighborhoods that also are home to high rates of poverty and crime. The report shows the highest concentration of youth unemployment is in neighborhoods on the city’s South and West sides, especially Fuller Park, Englewood, East Garfield Park and North Lawndale, each of which is more than 90 percent black. Oh, my. Has it come to this? In a trailer for tonight's episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, sisters Kourtney and Kim quiz their mom Kris Jenner on the details of their lives. For every answer she gets incorrect, Kris receives punishment in the form of a water balloon dropped on her head or a pie in the face. What a waste of a good pie. “What's my due date?” asks a pregnant Kim. “December the 24th,” replies Kris. WRONG! WATER BALLOON! “What's North's middle name?” “South?” WRONG! PIE IN THE FACE! Wow. I mean, we knew the show has seen a prominent dip in ratings this season, but resorting to hokey, outdated, Benny Hill-style slapstick has got to be a new low. After 11 years on the air, it seems they've exhausted all the ridiculous yet eyeball-grabbing storylines. Kim is now happily married with kids. Kourtney ditched the douchebag. Caitlyn Jenner's got her own show. All that adds up to BORING. Kylie Jenner's rocky romance to D-list rapper Tyga gave the show a little boost , but it now seems like he may be out of the picture, too. I can only envision Kris and Ryan Seacrest sitting around dreaming up new plots for the failing show. Fairytale wedding? Been there. Philandering boyfriends? Done that. I know! Let's hurl soft gag props at Kris that will in turn mess up her hair and makeup! Watch the pathetic events below:

Via Bloomberg: A paralyzing winter storm forced the cancellation of thousands of flights, knocked out power to homes and threatened Washington with one of its heaviest snowfalls on record as it moved up the U.S. East Coast. Snow started to fall in Washington early Friday afternoon. The city, along with Baltimore, may get more than 2 feet (61 centimeters), according to the National Weather Service. New York and Long Island may see as much as 18 inches. “There are blizzard warnings for the whole corridor from Washington to Philadelphia, New York and Long Island,” said Dan Petersen, a meteorologist with the U.S. Weather Prediction Center in College Park, Maryland. “It is going to put us in the top couple of snowstorms down here. It’s a historic snowstorm.” The heaviest three-day snow to fall in the Washington area was 28 inches in January 1922, according to the weather service. Baltimore received 26.8 inches in February 2003. While the East Coast cities bear the brunt of some of the heaviest snow, the storm is a national event, spawning a tornado and severe thunderstorms across the South and an ice storm stretching from Kentucky into North Carolina. Kanye West Has Kardashian Sisters Helping Him In The Studio Kanye’s getting ready to drop his first album in nearly three years, and has been teasing it with randomly dropped singles here and there for months. But apparently Kanye is employing the professional opinions of DJ Jazzy Jenner and her fresh princesses as he mixes and masters the tracks that will make up his 8th studio release, “Swish.” According to Khloe, ‘Ye is alternating Kardashian krew member studio sessions and picking their brains to figure out what sounds best… According to a recent interview with Cosmopolitan : Did you hear the new Kanye songs that came out today? I did not today, but I’ve heard his whole album. His studio is at his house, so we go to his house all the time. I’ve heard the songs, I just don’t know which ones came out. It was “Real Friends”— OK, I’ve heard “Real Friends.” And a snippet of “No More Parties in L.A.” His album is so good. So I’m confused, is this not an album? We’re just giving away music? Khloe already seems to be somewhat lost on how single releases work…so the next tidbit she shares is even more confusing. He has so many songs that we — I act like I’m recording them — that he can’t figure out what he wants to put on his album. And they’re all genuinely terrific songs. So maybe that’s why he’s doing that. You’re one of the lucky few who’s heard it. I know, it’s really cool. And he really cares about our opinions, which I find even cooler. Because we’re not artists, obviously, but he respects what we say so much. He is so passionate. He’s like, every bit the meaning of an artist. He’s so into his craft, and just to see him at work and see how much he respects our opinions, all of us sisters, he wants us all in the studio at different times. Thank god we all live a block away from each other. Hopefully Kanye is taking in some backup opinions. We’ve watched Kim & krew awkwardly and aimlessly clap along at a Yeezus show, so we can say with some confidence that the ONLY member of that family that could possibly give Kanye some solid feedback on his musical direction is North! Kind of… The mother of two shared a precious picture on Instagram this weekend, one that technically does feature the first-ever glimpse at little Saint, to whom Kim gave birth on December 5. It just isn’t a glimpse at his face or head or anything too revealing. Instead, Kardashian has posted a photo of her daughter North’s finger being squeezed by Saint’s tiny little hand, writing as a caption: She said, “He’s my best friend.” Okay, darn. She got us. That’s pretty darn adorable. Kim and Kanye West welcomed their second child a few weeks early, following a difficult pregnancy for the reality star. Due to a variety of complications and the health risks associated with them, it’s unlikely Kim and Kanye have a third baby. But that’s okay. They already have one boy and one girl and then we can at least be spared Kardashian’s nauseating talk about how she simply must lose all her pregnancy weight as soon as possible. The public, meanwhile, continues to wait for a legitimate look at Saint West. Kardashian and her husband have been offered an insane amount of money to sell the first real pictures to a tabloid, but the safer assumption is that Kim will eventually post them to her new website/app. For now, however, the above picture will need to suffice.
