Backstreet Boys: Touring with Avril Lavigne!

Their In a World Like This Tour went so well (apparently) in 2013, the reunited Backstreet Boys have decided to extend it into this summer – with Avril Lavigne! The late ’90s live as the singer will join the group as opening act for a two-month foray into North American amphitheaters, according to reports. After a string of Canadian shows in early May, the tour will return to the U.S. for 23 concerts, beginning May 22 at the WaMu Theater in Seattle, Wash. “We really wanted to put together a great show and do our best to give everyone their money’s worth,” Backstreet’s Brian Littrell said in a press release. “Avril is an unbelievably talented artist who’s a perfect fit.” If only they could get her husband Chad Kroeger to join. Liz Wahl, Russia Today Anchor, Resigns on Air

Liz Wahl, an anchor on state-funded Russia Today, shocked viewers last night when she took a stand against President Vladimir Putin… by resigning on air! “I cannot be part of a network funded by the Russian government that whitewashes the actions of Putin,” Wahl said at the end of her broadcast, following a discussion of the “ethical and moral challenges” she has faced on the Russia Today team.  Liz Wahl Resigns from Russia Today Wahl hails from a family who escaped Soviet rule during the 1956 Hungarian revolution and is the daughter of a U.S. veteran. “I’m proud to be an American and believe in disseminating the truth,” Wahl said. “And that is why, after this newscast, I’m resigning.” In a statement, Russia Today referred to Wahl’s move as a “self-promotional stunt,” an accusation she denied when later speaking with Anderson Cooper. Wahl said the concept that she did this “for personal gain … couldn’t be farther from the truth.” She added that she’d “hesitated to speak on this for a while for fear of repercussion,” but chose to finally act due to belief “the propagandist nature of RT (had come) out in full force” over its coverage of the Ukraine crisis. “RT is not about the truth; it’s about promoting a Putinist agenda,” Wahl told CNN. “And I can tell you firsthand, it’s about bashing America.”

So fans around the country have been waiting for the following announcement: the trio is going on tour together! “This happened organically with Adam,” May said this morning at a press conference. “People are going to ask whether it’s Queen without [late singer Freddie Mercury]. Surprise! The cat’s out of the bag. KimYe’s wedding date has reportedly been set and E! cameras are rumored to be invited. According to Mail Online reports : Kim Kardashian is wasting no time becoming Mrs West. The 33-year-old reality star has already set a date to wed Kanye, 36, in Paris. The two will walk down the aisle on May 24, according to UsWeekly . That will be only seven months after the Yeezus singer got down on one knee to propose to the E! favorite in San Francisco with a 15-carat diamond engagement ring. May 24 is a Saturday but guests will be flown in several days before that, according to the magazine. The date is an interesting choice because it’s when astronomers are predicting a comet will burst through Earth’s atmosphere and create a brilliant meteor shower, lighting up the sky. France is no unfamiliar destination for the couple. They have already been spending much time there in the past year – Kanye was in the City Of Lights as recently as Sunday when he took in the Givenchy show where his soon-to-be sister-in-law Kendall Jenner walked the runway. On February 25 Kim told Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS FM radio show her wedding won’t be the giant affair that has been reported. ‘We’re having a super, super small, intimate wedding,’ she told the Keeping Up With the Kardashians producer. ‘As we go along, we’re realizing we want it to be smaller and more intimate than people are imagining and thinking.’ Kim saw 500 people attend her nuptials to basketball star Kris Humphries in 2011. The event was over-the-top and filmed for her reality show. It may be hard for the rapper to keep the event toned down, however. ‘Kanye is obsessed with creating moments, like he did with the baseball-stadium engagement,’ a source told Life & Style. ‘Now he’s working on all these huge surprises for the wedding, but as a result she has virtually no idea what is going to happen at her own wedding. She’s been kept in the dark about a lot of the details, and that doesn’t make her happy.’ The weekly also noted the stars have looked at marrying inside France’s Chateau d’Usse. West is taking charge of the entire event, planning everything, even what she will wear. ‘She’ll have one dress change,’ Us’ source said. And the gown will reportedly hug her hard-won curves – the beauty lost 50 pounds after delivering daughter North in June. As for their child, she will be there as well. A source revealed: ‘North will have a large role in the wedding.’ The couple will have to fly in their A-list friends, think Beyonce and Jay Z, into the European country. ‘Everything will be very ornate, from the invitations to the cake,’ a source told InTouch in January. It’s been reported the event will be televised, so undoubtedly the TV network will foot most of that bill. Kanye has an apartment near the Champs-Elysees in Paris where he will be staying as he makes frequent trips to the City Of Lights to iron out the details of his big day, added Us. It has not been reported whether Kim’s mother Kris Jenner – who set up Khloe’s nuptials to Lamar Odom in 2009 – will play a role in the wedding planning. One thing Kim will have control over is the prenup. Life & Style reported: ‘Kim wants Kanye to sign the same ironclad agreement she had with Kris. A source tells the publication the couple is ‘haggling’ over custody arrangements for North if they split. The Kim & Kanye Wedding Special will air in the fall, according to sources. Are y’all excited for this one? One thing about Kanye, he definitely knows how to put together an event. We just don’t know if we’d trust him to pick our wedding gown if we were Kim. We kicked off the first American Idol results show of Season 13 with a group sing and a promo for this summer’s tour. Okay, not the strongest opening. But, hey, there are 58 minutes to kill before we find out the initial finalist eliminated, isn’t there? Another creative soul out there is helping us smile through the pain of a never-ending polar vortex. With one awesome family in North Carolina having devised their own snow day song , and two school administers parodying Ice Ice Baby for their cancelation announcement, WKRC Cincinnati reporter Bob Herzog is now having some fun with this awful weather. In the following footage, Herzog explains that he’s seen the animated hit Frozen twice and that he’s watched “YouTube videos of the songs from the movie several thousand times” with his daughter at home.
