Tyler Baltierra: I’m Not Leaving Catelynn Lowell, You Psychos!

So you know how people have been talking about how Tyler Baltierra should leave Catelynn Lowell for a long time now? Yeah, it’s this whole thing. It’s weird, because in the beginning of their reality television career, they were this adorable couple who made the painful decision to place their child for adoption because it was best for her. They were definitely Teen Mom fan favorites … so what happened? Things had been going downhill for a while, after Catelynn and Tyler neglected to do the things they’d planned to do after they had their first child. They never went to college, they never did all the things they said they were going to do to better themselves and change their lives. But then they had their second child, Nova, who they obviously kept. They also sent Nova to spend the night at Catelynn’s mother’s house multiples times a week, and they once even let Tyler’s father babysit her while they went out of the country. Fans will remember that Catelynn’s mother and Tyler’s father were pretty much the main reasons they thought they couldn’t raise their first child … So opinions began to change, definitely. Then, last year, Catelynn checked into a treatment center for six weeks to deal with suicide thoughts she began having after a miscarriage . And no one thought poorly about her for that. But then she came home, and a few weeks after that, she went back for another six weeks . Lots of people really thought poorly about her then. The thing was that she didn’t seem open to trying to get help at home — at outpatient treatment center in their state, therapy, nothing. Even after Tyler explained how hard it was on their daughter to have her gone for so long , she wasn’t moved. She even seemed kind of cold about it — she didn’t tell Nova she would be gone for over a month again, and she told Tyler that she’d “manage” without her. When we saw all of this happen on Teen Mom OG, Tyler was obviously frustrated by it all. He said at one point that he was beginning to think that he and Cate weren’t right for each other anymore. In more recent episodes, he called her behavior “repulsing,” and he’s really just seemed over her altogether. As he complained to some friends, “marriage is a bitch.” You might be thinking something along the lines of “hold up, aren’t they about to have another kid?” And it’s true — Catelynn is pregnant right now , and in March she and Tyler will welcome another daughter. But on the show, Tyler hasn’t seemed super excited about the whole thing because, as anyone who knows anything about any of this can see, the timing just isn’t good. He even claimed that they’d been doing everything they could to prevent a pregnancy. What we’re saying with all of this is that just a few months ago, things were really bad for these two, and perhaps they still are. So bad that Tyler recently sort of commented that he deserves better than Catelynn . In a recent post on the Teen Mom OG Instagram page, someone left a comment complaining about how Cate had been refusing to watch the show with Tyler, something his therapist reccommended. “I cannot STAND Cate,” that person wrote. “I hope he moves on from her at some point. He deserves a real woman, not a little girl.” And Tyler liked that comment. It got a lot of attention, because of course it did, but now, Tyler is claiming that the whole thing was just a misunderstanding. “OMG people!” he tweeted to kick off his explanation. “That was a comment that Cate’s dad replied to & since I got his notification I scrolled to see what he had responded to & must have hit the like button.” “Why would I like a negative comment about my wife with her dad on the thread?” he asked. “You people are psycho lmao!” Yeah, so that’s not terribly convincing, huh? Sure, lots of people probably accidentally like things all the time on social media, but if it’s something like this, they usually just un-like it, you know? Besides, the word is that the girl who wrote that original comment has made it clear that Catelynn’s dad never replied to it, so that’s something. Look, maybe Tyler’s telling the truth, and he really did like that comment accidentally. Or maybe he really has been feeling like he deserves a better partner than Catelynn . Either way, he’s made it perfectly clear that he has no plans to leave her, no matter what. View Slideshow: Tyler Baltierra: I’m Beyond Miserable Being Married to Catelynn Lowell That’s … good? Unfortunate? At this point, it’s hard to say. But good luck, Baltierras, however things turn out!

CEO Killed at Gay Cruising Spot

Credit Union of Atlanta CEO DeFarra Gaymon was shot and killed by a police officer in Newark, New Jersey last week after allegedly propositioning the officer at a gay cruising area. Gaymon stopped by the Branch Brook Park area while en route to his 30th high school reunion. The neighborhood is known for attracting sexual activity and male prostitutes, according to a report in The New York Times. According to Essex County prosecutor Robert D. Laurino, the 29-year-old officer, whose name hasn’t been released, claims he fired in self-defense. He says when he attempted to arrest Gaymon for lewd behavior, he ran and, when cornered, tried to disarm the officer. The officer shot Gaymon once. He died three hours later at nearby University Hospital. added by: TimALoftis

VIDEO Pete Seeger & Mark Ruffalo Protest Oil & Gas Industry

Folk music icon Pete Seeger and actor Mark Ruffalo joined elected officials and environmental advocates in Albany, NY on Tuesday to warn that a new method of gas extraction is destructive, unpredictable, and a threat to public health. Ruffalo, a Sullivan County resident who recently appeared in the film The Kids Are Alright, held up a jar of water from a Pennsylvania town where the method of hydraulic fracturing (or hydro-fracking, for short) has contaminated the water supply. He warned that New Yorkers could suffer the same fate unless the state legislature takes action in the coming days. Seeger, a longtime environmental activist, composed a song about fracking for the event highlighting the similarities between natural gas extraction and oil drilling: “And when 'drill baby drill' turns to 'spill baby spill,' God’s counting on me – God's counting on you.” Hydro-fracking is a dirty, dangerous method of extracting gas from underground rock by drilling a well in the rock and then pumping thousands of gallons of a toxic soup of chemicals into the rock to create fissures that release the gas trapped inside. Many companies are seeking to ramp up gas production by starting hydro-fracking operations in NY state this year. Hydro-fracking has contaminated water across the country from Pennsylvania to Colorado and its effects are the subject of the new documentary GASLAND. NY's Dept of Environmental Conservation holds the authority to grant permits to oil and gas companies. The Dept has stated that it plans to allow hydro-fracking to begin despite pressure from a massive grassroots campaign has been waged across the state to “kill the drill.” One grassroots organization that has decided to fight the oil and gas industry on hydro-fracking on the national level is Frack Action. www.FrackAction.org added by: captainplanet71

Feature Release: New Profile Pages, Activity Streams, Twitter, and Badges!

As far as releases go, this one is stuffed to the gills. There's a lot to cover here, so let's not waste any time. New Profiles With Activity Streams Ever since I began working at Current we've fielded requests for improved profile pages, and feed based activity streams. Well, prepare yourself because here comes feed overload. Today we launch a totally revamped profile page experience, and here's everything you need to know about the changes in place. Viewing Other Peoples' Profiles In the old system, a visit to someones profile gave you a few options to view their activity, but some of the details were missing. For example, what are they choosing to follow on the site? Did they recently connect with someone new, or choose to follow infoMania? This wasn't immediately clear. Our new profile page layout offers a feed of activity that can either be viewed in one catch all stream, or filtered with the following options: Viewing Your Own Profile You might be thinking, “OK, the design update is nice, but this seems pretty similar to the old profile options.” And you're right…sort of. The real difference with profile updates comes in the way your own profile works when you visit it. Before, a visit to your own profile would show you the exact same thing everyone else saw — a list of recent activity. Starting today, your profile will default to an all-new view when you visit it while logged in — Latest Updates. The Latest Updates is a sortable feed of everything the people you are choosing to follow are doing on the site, which means your profile page is now a pretty useful place to visit on a more regular basis. Don't worry, you can still see what your profile looks like to everyone else by clicking on the “My Activity” tab. Go ahead, try out the new stream of activity on your profile and let us know what you think. Twitter Integration We realize that many of you are active on Twitter as well as Facebook, and since you're already a fan of Current TV what better way to share your insider knowledge with your friends than by connecting your profile to your Facebook and Twitter? We've had Facebook up and running for some time now, but today we add Twitter to the list of services you can authenticate on Current. What does this do? It makes it easy to share your activity on Current with your followers, and when you earn badges and achievements we'll even let them know about it. In addition, once you've authenticated your accounts you can use Facebook or Twitter to log into Current. Well, what are you waiting for? Head over to your account preferences and connect your accounts! Badges and Achievements There is so much crammed into this release that I've decided to devote an entire thread to Badges and Achievements alone. Head over here to learn more. This is a boatload of new functionality, so if you bump into any bugs or general wonkiness, or just want to offer some feedback, please send us a note via our

What Are Badges? A Guide To Achievements On Current TV

Literally one month ago we announced that achievements are coming to Current TV, and well, today is the day! We're in the process of rolling out badges and achievements to the site, along with a whole bunch of other goodies like new profile pages, activity streams, and Twitter integration. You can read all about those updates on this post. This post is dedicated to badges. What are badges? They are used to mark achievements that you unlock by participating on our site. For example: Some ways to unlock badges are: Posting and voting on comments. Connecting your Current profile to your Facebook and Twitter. Earning positive votes from others in the community. Posting stories and comments on Twitter and Facebook. And many more! Each badge is worth points, and some badges are worth more points than others. To earn the most points, you'll need to unlock the badges that are most valuable on the site. When you unlock a badge you'll be notified with an alert at the bottom of the page. Don't worry if you missed the notification, you can always head over to your profile page and find a list of the badges you've unlocked under the “Badges” sort found in the “My Activity” tab. We also display the total points you've earned below your username on your profile page. Read our announcement on the blog to learn more about the all-new profile page and activity feeds. Here's a list of the first round of badges we're launching with. Check out the full list, then visit your profile to see which ones you've unlocked. Or better yet, click on any of the badges to see a list of other community members savvy enough to unlock some of the badges in the system. For example, the Ye Olde-Tymer badge is a retired achievement given only to community members who registered before 10/16/2007. Wanna

Horse racing: Your chance to win a £50 bet in our Royal Ascot tipping competition, plus the latest news and best bets in our daily racing blog

The latest news and best bets on day four at Royal Ascot, plus your chance to win £50 in our tipping competition 11.45am Near rail may be the place to go Greg Wood: Going news from Royal Ascot this morning is that Chris Stickels, the clerk of the course, put 6mm of water on the straight course last night and 4mm on the round course. He also “dropped the round course rail back to the inside line to produce some fresh ground.” The GoingStick readings now suggest little or no difference between the stands’ side and the far side, with both reading 10.2, though it is worth remembering that many more horses have been down the far side so far this week, particularly on the final stretch from the home turn, where the round course joins the straight. Thus, it is just possible that the better ground will be against the near rail, if any jockey is brave enough to give it a go. There is also a non-runner in the Wokingham tomorrow. Prime Exhibit has been withdrawn, because of the going, according to the notification, though this seems like one of the more elastic excuses on offer this week, as Prime Exhibit is a runner in the seven-furlong handicap here later this afternoon. Will Hayler previews the day The flourescent-vested man in the car park was still smarting about Eddie Ahern’s tipping prowess as I got out of the car this morning. “He said Berling was his best chance, so I went in on that one, and he went and won on Approve,” he muttered. “Look – his car’s still parked over there. He must have gone out for a celebratory drink after racing.” He didn’t ask me for my opinion, which was probably for the best. I’m mainly focussed upon cheering on every 50-1 shot to cover my spread bet on the biggest winning starting price. Frankly, I’ll be gutted if we get through the next two days without anything bettering Invisible Man’s 28-1 success in the Hunt Cup. Even though I am taking a fairly sceptical view about At First Sight’s second place in the Derby, I’m still a little surprised to see Green Moon ahead of him at the head of the betting for the King Edward VII Stakes. The statistics are clear that Derby runners rarely deliver when they are asked to make a quick return to action at this meeting, but if the clock doesn’t lie then At First Sight finished second in one of the best Derbies of the modern era. I was rather hoping I might be able to lay him at around the 2-1 mark. At 7-2, it’s almost worth thinking about changing sides. Of all the various versions of the 1,000 Guineas represented by the runners in today’s Coronation Stakes, Evading Tempete (3.50) is the only one to have staked her claim for this contest in the Italian Guineas at Cappanelle. She was an effortless winner there and, with her earlier Maisons-Laffite form also looking very good, she looks fair value this morning at the widely-available 14-1 in a wide-open renewal. The man in the car park thought that Rainbow Peak (4.25) was too short to be backed at around the 2-1 mark for the Wolferton Handicap and he’s probably right, but I still wouldn’t want to be against him, now that he’s returned to the right trip. You can read my preview of today’s TV races here . Win a £50 free bet from Paddy Power Paddy Power have very kindly offered a £50 free bet to our champion tipster today. All you have to do is give us your selections for all of today’s races at Royal Ascot. As ever, our champion will be the tipster who returns the best profit to notional level stakes of £1 on each selection at starting price. Non-runners count as losers. Please post all your tips in a single posting, using the comment facility below, before the first race at 2.30pm. There are six races at Ascot today and you must post a single selection for each race. Our usual terms and conditions, which you can read here , will apply, except that this will be a strictly one-day thing. If we get a tie after all the races have been run, the winner will be the one who posted their tips earliest out of those with the highest score. If you don’t win today . . . well, then it’s time for despair because this is our final competition of the week. But we will be back, as always, with a new competition on Monday. ElMatador1 was our champion yesterday, his three winners including the 20-1 Gold Cup hero Rite Of Passage. He is presumably not the same matador that ran out of the ring in Mexico the other day . Alas, Simmorissey picked the same three winners some two hours later and deserves great credit but wins no prize. Two people have already posted their tips for today on yesterday’s blog. Farmy11 picked: 2:30 Crying Lightning 3.05 Monterosso 3.50 Anna Salai 4.25Tartan Gigha 5.00Monterey 5.35 Kiwi Bay While goofs has gone for: Radharcnafarraige at first sight anna salai Steele Tango Total Comman wigams turn.
