Lamar Odom Transfers To LA Hospital To Begin Rehabilitation With Khloe Kardashian By His Side Just a few months ago these two were like strangers… Lamar Odom has been under the care of Vegas doctors since his brain damaging drug overdose, but now he is on his way back to L.A. for more specialized treatment — with his wife according to a TMZ report . Odom is being accompanied by Khloe Kardashian who vowed to be by Lamar’s side throughout his rehab, which will probably take months. Khloe hasn’t left Lamar’s side since he began his treatment earlier this week and doesn’t plan to. TMZ sources say Lamar has “numerous unresolved medical issues”. They also report that Lamar Odom is expected to survive, but doctors have cautioned his family there will be some permanent damage, though the extent is unclear. Married Doctor Dies After Drug-Filled Night In NYC A well-respected NJ dermatologist was found half-naked and unconscious in the foyer of a New York apartment building during the wee hours of Sunday morning. Initially, authorities were confused as to how and why the married Mother of three ended up in such a situation…until a sordid tale of an apparent extramarital affair with a television producer and wild, recreational drug use slowly began to come to light. Via NY Post : A supposed “girls night out” for a married doctor turned into a deadly drug binge with an Emmy-nominated HBO producer in his dealer’s Chelsea apartment, police sources told The Post on Monday. Pretty dermatologist Kiersten Rickenbach Cerveny, 38, a mother of three, is believed to have suffered a fatal cocaine overdose while partying with Marc Henry Johnson in the wee hours Sunday morning, sources said. Surveillance video shows Johnson, who is also married, carrying Cerveny down the stairs inside 223 W. 16th St. with the help of ex-con James Holder, sources said. The video also shows the men dropping or dumping the former beauty-pageant princess in the vestibule at around 8:30 a.m., then going their separate ways outside. Johnson — who is currently producing “The Deuce,” a pilot for an HBO series about the porn industry starring James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal — called 911, and paramedics tried in vain to revive Cerveny, the sources said. “She came out topless,” a building resident said. “Her face was white and her lips were blue. They were doing chest compressions.” And it seems that no one had any idea that Cerveny got down this way at all… Angelo Pappas, 46, a New York City teacher, said he often saw Cerveny and her husband jogging with their kids in a stroller at 6 a.m. “You’re talking about a person who looks very healthy, working out. That type,” he said. A friend and fellow club member, Penny Morash, called Kiersten Cerveny “a great mom.” “Everybody thinks it’s horrible that this is what she’s going to be known for,” Morash said. Norman Lear And Vernon Jordan Among Honorees; Event Raised $1.2 Million For Schomburg Center In Harlem It was where the lawyers in the Brown vs Board of Education case sourced evidence, where actors like Harry Belafonte and Ruby Dee got their start, and it’s home to one of the most extensive collection of artifacts from the African Diaspora. It’s Harlem’s Schomburg Center For Research in Black Culture, which celebrated 90 years of illuminating black history and culture with a glittering gala. Prof. Henry Louis Gates Jr., Al Roker, Deborah Roberts and former NYC Mayor David Dinkins were among the guests at the gala, held Sept. 28 at the Steven A. Schwarzman library building in Manhattan. The event honored Norman Lear, the TV producer behind Sanford and Son and The Jeffersons, political advisor Vernon Jordan, Xerox CEO Ursula Burns, poet Elizabeth Alexander and the Ford Foundation. The gala raised $1.2 million to support the cultural institution’s programs and services. As part of the evening, library officials opened up the collection to display some of the Schomburg’s treasures: Malcolm X’s journals from his travels to the Middle East, a telegram from Langston Hughes congratulating Lorraine Hansberry on opening night of her play “A Raisin In The Sun,” and a draft of Richard Wright’s “Native Son.” Founder Arturo Schomburg began collecting artifacts from around the African Diaspora to dispel the idea that blacks hadn’t contributed to civilization. The New York Public Library acquired the collection, and used it as the foundation of its division of Negro Literature, History and Prints, what later became the Schomburg Center. Man Sues ASPCA Over Sexual Harrassment An African American NYC man is suing the animal rights organization he worked for until last August, alleging that he was catcalled and sexually teased by a brood of white women who thought it was fun to grope him and come up with sexual pet names to call him in the office. He believes no one took his complaints seriously because he’s a gay black man working with a team of straight white women … Via TMZ : An ASPCA employee in NYC says he was treated like a piece of meat, or rather — a giant piece of chocolate candy by female co-workers who groped him and discriminated against him. Benjamin Li’Gon is suing the animal rights group where he was the hiring manager up until August … and in the docs he says he is a gay black man, which is significant since most of his co-workers were white heterosexual women. Li’Gon describes a sorority girls gone wild atmosphere where one colleague groped him and called him “sexual chocolate” while others watched. It might have been a reference to an hysterical “Coming to America” scene, but Li’Gon wasn’t laughing. He also says another woman called him “sexy Benny boo boo bear” in an elevator. None of those people were disciplined, according to his lawsuit. Li’Gon says he thinks the head of HR of hates gay black men, since his frequent complaints to her fell on deaf ears. He was fired in August, after he says he was accused of “inappropriate horseplay” with his male assistant … which he denies. Li’Gon is suing for wrongful termination and discrimination, seeking at least $2 million. Now let this have been one of the white women complaining that this Black man was touching them inappropriately and “catcalling” them in the office…Human Resources would have reacted faster than the speed of light! SMH.
