As previously reported Kanye’s nearly two-hour long interview with Charlamagne was released today and in it, he spoke on a number of topics including Kim’s Paris robbery, Jay Z and Beyonce skipping his wedding, President Barack Obama and Deplorable Dumbo In Chief. He also denied seeing the “Get Out” memes about him and denied being sunken while crediting Kim Kardashian for caring for her “Superman” in the absence of his late mother Donda. Following that, he stopped by TMZ Live with Candace Owens (and a fresh haircut) to speak on “free thought.” The imbecilic free thought thinker then dropped a bomb about what he thinks really happened during slavery. “You hear about slavery for 400 years, 400 years?! That sounds like a choice,” said Kanye. “Like you was there for 400 years and it’s all of y’all?!” Kanye’s insanely asinine comments led to a showdown between him and TMZ reporter Van Lathan who told him black man to black man that he was disappointed and appalled by him. “I actually don’t think you’re thinking anything,” said Van. “I think what you’re doing right now is the absence of thought, there is fact in real world, real life consequences behind everything you just said. Source: Pacific Press / Getty The Baton Rouge police officer who shot and killed Alton Sterling has been removed  from the force. Baton Rouge Police Department officials have announced that Blane Salamoni has been fired following Sterling’s 2016 shooting death. Bodycam footage of the deadly incident shows Salamoni pulling a gun on Sterling as soon has he arrives to help another officer, Howie Lake II , detain Sterling. Sterling questioned why officers were trying to detain him, but Salamoni replied, “Don’t f*cking move or I’ll shoot your f*cking a*s. Put your f*cking hands on the car.” Lake is also shown using a taser on Sterling before Salamoni rushes him. Shots are then heard off-camera. When Salamoni got up, video shows him lying on the ground with a blood stain on his shirt. CNN.com reports that Salamoni and Lake were each subject to their own disciplinary hearings. While Lake answered every question that he was asked, Salamomi reportedly refused to answer any questions. Lake, the other officer in this case, will be suspended without pay for three days because he lost his temper. Baton Rouge Police Chief Murphy Paul announced the suspension on Friday, stating, “That is my decision. Hide Ya Kids: Schools See Sharp Rise In Racial Harassment Reports According To Education Department

The U.S. Department of Education’s civil rights division received significantly more complaints regarding racial harassment in schools in 2017, according to data the department provided for a Huffington Post report. According to the report, the increase is the largest jump in its category since 2009, with the division never receiving more than 600 complaints until the 2017 fiscal year, when the number climbed to 675, which represents a nearly 25% increase from the previous year. Prior to that year the number had ranged between 362 and 577 reports. The Office for Civil Rights (OCR) is charged with addressing complaints under Title VI, the federal law that protects students from discrimination based on race, color and national origin. Catherine Lhamon, who ran OCR during the Obama administration, said she could not speculate on the reasons for this increase, but pointed to outside data showing a surge in hate crimes nationally. “Our schools are places that encapsulate and reflect the national climate as well,” said Lhamon, who is now chair of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. “It is distressingly unsurprising that there might be an uptick in racial harassment complaints coming to OCR.” Zoe Savitsky, deputy legal director at the Southern Poverty Law Center, pointed to the numbers as evidence that the Trump administration is creating a toxic national environment that is in turn affecting schools. In the wake of the 2016 presidential election, the Southern Poverty Law Center started surveying teachers about how the election had influenced their school’s climate. Many teachers reported seeing an increase in hateful language and attitudes toward marginalized student groups. “I am saddened but not surprised,” said Savitsky of the rise in racial harassment complaints in schools.
