Ever since Caitlyn Jenner revealed herself on the cover of Vanity Fair this afternoon, we’ve expected an outpouring of support from her loved ones. And, to their credit, Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian  and company have all weighed in with the utmost respect and admiration for the woman they are sort of just meeting for the first time. But an unexpected celebrity has now also made his voice heard on Jenner and the significant step she has taken: President Barack Obama. Having only recently joined Twitter, the President used that platform this evening to send a very positive message Caitlyn’s way, writing: “It takes courage to share your story. Your story matters in the fight for LGBT rights.” Having the Commander-in-Chief actually acknowledge a gender transformation in such a way in a major step for the LGBT community. Caitlyn Jenner, meanwhile, is already on Twitter herself. She has well over one million followers already and she opened her account with the following words: I’m so happy after such a long struggle to be living my true self. Welcome to the world Caitlyn. We're living in very frightening times, people. Due to the threat of nuclear war, terrorism and crazy Boston Red Sox fans? Yes, but that's not really applicable in this case. Instead, we're referring at the moment to a culture that has embraced Kim Kardashian and her family to such an extent that they make millions and millions of dollars per year. Many big names have spoken out against the famous family in recent times, including President Barack Obama, but Naomi Watts summed up our feelings very well in a May 2015 interview with Australian InStyle. “There’s so much focus on celebrity these days; we’re in the Kardashian era and it’s slightly scary,” said the Oscar nominee. Naomi Watts Naomi Watts told Australian InStyle in May 2015 that “we’re in the Kardashian era and it’s slightly scary.” We think it’s VERY scary. 2. Barack Obama Barack Obama has reportedly banned all of the Kardashian reality shows from the White House and said in a speech that Kim and Kanye are examples of how a celebrity-obsessed culture is bad for our children. 3. Cher Cher has Tweeted that the Kardashians are “bitches” who should be “drop kicked down the freeway.” She made a point of saying she is NOT kidding. 4. Kelly Cutrone The author and fashion guru says there’s not “one person who really works in the fashion industry who gives a flying f-ck about Kanye West.” She also says Kim isn’t doing anything “fresh” in the fashion world. 5. Reese Witherspoon Says Reese Witherspoon at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards: “When I came up in this business, if you made a sex tape, you were embarrassed and you hid it under your bed and if you took naked pictures of yourself on your cell phone, you hid your face.” Hmmm… Who could she have been referencing? 6. He’s Got Our Back: President Obama Officially Bans Police From Using Military Equipment

Obama Bans Military Vehicles From Local Police Departments Our President is pulling the rug out from under the cops who think they are soldiers… Via HuffingtonPost In an unexpected move, President Barack Obama on Monday will ban the federal government from providing certain military equipment to police departments. Effective immediately, the government will no longer provide local law enforcement with armored vehicles, grenade launchers and bayonets. Other items like explosives and riot equipment will be transferred to police only if they provide additional certification and assurances that the gear will be used responsibly. The changes stem from recommendations made to the president in a new report produced by a White House working group. Obama created the task force earlier this year via executive order. The president’s action is part of a broader effort to relieve tensions between law enforcement and minority communities after the deaths of several black men at the hands of police in Ferguson, Missouri; Baltimore; and other cities. In Ferguson, for example, local police rolled out armored tanks and riot gear in response to protests over the 2014 death of Michael Brown, a reaction that many saw as making the situation dramatically worse. “The idea is to make sure that we strike a balance in providing the equipment, which is appropriate and useful and important for local law enforcement agencies to keep the community safe, while at the same time putting standards in place so that there’s a clear reason for the transfer of that equipment, that there’s clear training and safety procedures in place,” White House Director of Domestic Policy Cecilia Muñoz said in a Sunday call with reporters. Of course, POTUS can’t take away all of the cops’ toys with out giving them a lil’ somethin’-somethin’ in return… News of the ban on military weapons comes ahead of Obama’s Monday visit to Camden, New Jersey, where he will highlight the success of the city’s police department in building trust with its community. The president will visit police headquarters and meet with officers before giving public remarks. He will also announce $163 million in grants to encourage police departments to adopt the recommendations of the White House working group report. Spoon full of dollars makes the missile launchers and tanks go down.

Today is wonderful, but every day could be called Mother's Day really, given all they do for us. Royal Baby Birth Certificate: Released!

The royal baby is officially on the grid! The brand-new Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge has been registered with a certificate of birth. Princess Charlotte , the daughter of Prince William and Kate Middleton, is fourth in line for the throne after Princes Charles, William and George. Queen Elizabeth II, the reigning monarch, has been on the job for 61 years (!) with her son, grandson and now great-grandson waiting in the wings. “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have formally registered the birth of Princess Charlotte,” a rep for Kensington Palace said in a statement. “The Duke of Cambridge signed the birth register at Kensington Palace this afternoon witnessed by a Registrar from Westminster Register Office.” Available to the public, the birth registration gives details on the princess’ entrance to the world, not that any of the details were at all a mystery. This isn’t Barack Obama’s birth certificate we’re talking about here. No conspiracy theories exist regarding the royal babies … that we know of. We should Google that. View Slideshow: Royal Baby Photos: Hail to the Princess! The regal infant, born from Kate Middleton May 2, shall be deemed Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge. Her father, 32, signed the form to make it official, using his fall name: His Royal Highness Prince William Arthur Philip Louis Duke of Cambridge. That’s a mouthful right there! The Duke’s occupation is listed as Prince of the United Kingdom, while his daughter already claims the position of Princess of the United Kingdom. The Duchess, 33, is registered under her full name of Catherine Elizabeth Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge. No more Middleton! Westminster Council registrar Alison Cathcart, who also registered Prince George’s birth, visited the palace for William and Kate to fill out the form. Now officially fulfilling her occupational duties as princess, baby Charlotte also got one very important visitor Tuesday in Queen Elizabeth II.
