Find out more at www.deepakchopra.com The major problem with science is that it believes in an objective reality independent of an observer. The objective world does not exist. All perceptual objects are organism and species specific. The world corresponds to the nervous system of the observer and scientific facts are modes of human observation. http://www.youtube.com/v/Oj_HKL4izi4?version=3&f=videos&app=youtube_gdata Read this article: The Major Problem With Science

Wow. Jessica Simpson was never exactly lacking in the chestal region, but man. Pregnancy is offering even more enhancement in more departments than just the belly. The star stepped out today with sister Ashleeeeeee and nephew Bronx Mowgli, named for a borough of New York City and a Jungle Book character. Nice work Ash. In any case, Jess looked happy, displaying the boy and her girls for all to see. Jess has had no problem showing off her body since she confirmed she and Eric Johnson are expecting … or ever, for that matter. Why start now, we suppose. This takes it to a new level, though. Is she purposely wearing tops from when she was 18? If so, nice. Avert your eyes, Bronx. Eh, it’s already too late. Enjoy. [Photos: Fame Pictures]
Prepare yourselves for one of the stranger, more sordid rumors you’ll hear all year… Laurie Fine is the wife of Bernie Fine, the Syracuse assistant basketball coach who was fired last week in the wake of allegations by three former ballplayers that he sexually assaulted them at various times during his 36 years on staff at the university. Jim Boeheim Addresses Bernie Fine Scandal The most damning piece of evidence against Bernie is a phone conversation recorded by accuser Bobby Davis in 2003. In it, Laurie appears to acknowledge her husband’s despicable behavior, telling Davis: “I know everything that went on… Bernie has issues, maybe that he’s not aware of, but he has issues… you’re better off just staying away from him.” But, wait, it gets weirder: Multiple sources tell Deadspin that Laurie herself carried on a sexual relationship with Davis, something she often did with Syracuse players. “It was a rite of passage for some to be with Bernie’s wife,” the insider claims . MOREOVER, another source says a sex tape of Laurie Fine and another player is actually in existence and has been peddled for years. Syracuse Coach Jim Boeheim initially stood by his long-time friend, Bernie Fine, but has recently said the university was right to fire him. He still maintains, however, that he was unaware of any of the alleged indecent behavior by either half of this couple.
Brad Pitt does it all. He acts. He has kids with Angelina Jolie . He looks handsome even with that absurd hair. And after a screening of his new film the Cary Grant Theatre in Culver City, Calif., he even helped out a distraught man at a Q&A session with fans. According to an attendee, a 30-something struggling actor announced to Pitt, Moneyball co-star Jonah Hill and the crowd that he was considering suicide. What did Pitt say? “It turned into a very awkward moment,” the attendee says, adding that the 47-year-old actor got “choked up” as he revealed his own battles to the crowd. But Pitt didn’t flinch . “He said, ‘Look, man, life is up and down, it’s a vicious cycle, but you have to go through it and deal with that,'” the observer reveals. “‘You can be down, but then you come back up again, and every failure can lead to success.'” “It was touching. As he left the theater he even stopped to talk with the guy to offer him some more words of encouragement because he was so fragile.” What more is there to say beyond: How cool is Brad Pitt?! [1]WE HEARD IT FROM THREE BLOCKS AWAY. The Observer left North Brooklyn sharing a cab with a neighboring journalist who had also been covering the protests shortly after 5:30 AM. By the time the cab pulled onto Broadway, after a quiet ride into Manhattan, traffic was at a standstill. It was around then we heard the noise, seeping in through rolled-up windows: yelling and shouting in a distant, chaotic… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : The New York Observer Discovery Date : 14/10/2011 16:47 Number of articles : 2

A video has just emerged from the scene now near Occupy Wall Street’s headquarters at Zuccotti Park in the Financial District, where police are barricading the protesters with metal fences in order to control the large and agitated crowd. Forecasts that crude oil production will reach 150m barrels a day by 2030 have been described as 'unrealistic'. Photograph: Tatan Syuflana/AP Speculation that government ministers are far more concerned about a future supply crunch than they have admitted has been fuelled by the revelation that they are canvassing views from industry and the scientific community about “peak oil”. The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) is also refusing to hand over policy documents about “peak oil” – the point at which oil production reaches its maximum and then declines – under the Freedom of Information (FoI) Act, despite releasing others in which it admits “secrecy around the topic is probably not good”. Experts say they have received a letter from David Mackay, chief scientific adviser to the DECC, asking for information and advice on peak oil amid a growing campaign from industrialists such as Sir Richard Branson for the government to put contingency plans in place to deal with any future crisis. A spokeswoman for the department insisted the request from Mackay was “routine” and said there was no change of policy other than to keep the issue under review. The peak oil argument was effectively dismissed as alarmist by former energy minister Malcolm Wicks in a report to government last summer, while oil companies such as BP, which have major influence in Whitehall, take a similar line. But documents obtained under the FoI Act seen by the Observer show that a “peak oil workshop” brought together staff from the DECC, the Bank of England and Ministry of Defence among others to discuss the issue. A ministry note of that summit warned that “[Government] public lines on peak oil are 'not quite right'. They need to take account of climate change and put more emphasis on reducing demand and also the fact that peak oil may increase volatility in the market.” Those comments were written 12 months ago, but a letter in response to the FoI request written by DECC officials and dated 31 July 2010 says it can only release some information on what is currently under policy discussion because they are “ongoing” and “high profile” in nature. The letter adds: “We recognise the public interest arguments in favour of disclosing this information. In particular we recognise that greater transparency makes government more open and accountable and could help provide an insight into peak oil. “However any public interest in the disclosure of such information must be balanced with the need to ensure that ministers and advisers can discuss policy in a manner which allows for frank exchanges of views and opinions about important and sensitive issues.” Yet the note of the workshop distributed last year talks about secrecy around the topic being “probably not good”, although it also suggests officials stick to the line that the “International Energy Agency is an authoritative source in this field” and stresses how the IEA believes there is sufficient reserves to meet demand till 2030 as long as investment in new reserves is maintained. But the Paris-based organisation has come under increasing scrutiny from a growing group of critics who believe the IEA's optimism is misplaced. Last year the Guardian revealed that the IEA was also riven with dissent over the issue with senior staff members privately telling newspaper they thought the official numbers on future global oil supply were over-optimistic. cont. added by: JanforGore
