Emily Smith, a sixth-grade math teacher at Winder Barrow Middle School, is accused of selling methadone, a synthetic opiate, and Xanax to an 18-year-old on Feb. 13, according to Channel 2 Action News. The girl, whom Smith considered a friend, was found dead the following night in her home. “Ms. Smith conspired with the victim by cellphone in reference to obtaining a controlled substance prior to her death,” Captain Faye Spaulding of the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office told Channel 2. Toxicology reports stated there were high levels of controlled substances in the teenager’s system, but the cause of death was not determined, according to Spaulding. “We are not sure how or why she was trying to obtain the controlled substance for the teenager,” the captain said. Another day, another skanky teacher popped for inappropriate sexual relationship with teenage boys… Via KHOU: A Santa Fe High School teacher has been charged with three felonies following allegations that she sexually assaulted a teenage student. Jaimie Dominy Page, 25, was arrested Thursday and charged with sexual abuse of a child; having an improper relationship between an educator and a student; and online solicitation of a minor. Page was booked into the Galveston County Jail on bonds totaling $50,000, authorities said. She posted bond and was released Thursday afternoon, authorities said. Adam Poole, an assistant district attorney with the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office, said all three charges relate to Page’s relationship with a male student. Authorities allege Page sent an explicit photograph to the student, who is not being identified because of his age, and had a sexual relationship with him. Poole said there was an investigation into whether other students had been involved. He said the investigation began after Page was put on administrative leave by the school district in February. According to jail records, Page was arrested at 2:10 p.m. during a traffic stop on FM 646 near the intersection with I-45. Page was placed on administrative leave by the Santa Fe Independent School District on Feb. 20 after the school began an investigation into the abuse allegations. According to a statement released by district Wednesday night, Page resigned from the district during the course of an investigation into the allegations. As previously reported, Justin Bieber collapsed on stage tonight during a concert in London. The incident took place with four songs remaining in the singer’s set, as the artist was pulled backstage and attended to by emergency personally for about 10 minutes while the crowd looked on anxiously. During that time, Bieber’s friend/manager, Scotter Braun, came out and explained the situation to fans. Courtland Rogers, the estranged husband of Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans, has been arrested for assault in North Carolina, according to officials. With Jenelle back in rehab again for the second time in under a week, her husband ended up in handcuffs – and still found time to tweet about it. “They.got me…brunswick.coybty jail i am.on my way…write me …sorry i got caught,” he posted on the micro-blogging site … whatever that means. Pender County (N.C.) Sheriff Deputy Chester Ward found Rogers had outstanding warrants March 5 when they were dispatched to an unrelated call. “We had responded to a disturbance but it had nothing to do with him,” Ward said. He and some other people were there and we will check and run identification to make sure they don’t have any outstanding warrants and Mr. Rogers did.” “He just happened to be at the residence. We put him in our holding jail and processed him here and Brunswick County picked him up this morning.” Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Public Information officer Emily Flax confirms that Courtland Rogers “is in our detention facility” on six charges. The allegations include four counts of assault on a female, plus two counts of battery on an unborn child, which Jenelle Evans accuses him of. Evans’ allegations were filed with police, who issued a warrant for Courtland, though he wasn’t picked up by authorities until randomly this week. The warrant for Rogers revealed gruesome details about the couple’s relationship, which ended around when she suffered a miscarriage with their child. One warrant claims Rogers “unlawfully and willfully did assault and strike Jenelle Rogers, a female person, by picking her up throwing her against the wall.” He is also accused of “bashing her head on the wall, punching in her head, back, stomach and legs” in an incident report dated November 16, 2012. Another arrest warrant details an alleged incident that occurred on January 21, claiming Rogers “did commit battery on a pregnant woman” (Jenelle). The two are still married, though Jenelle has said she won’t take him back. She was also recently dumped by Gary Head, another former fiance.

Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman was dead Thursday. Now he’s not. The Mexican drug boss apparently is alive and well, and probably laughing at thousands of Twitter users and even government officials who reported otherwise. He was never really dead , or even in peril, but the rumors of his demise started slowly on Thursday thanks to journalists in Guatemala and Mexico. An email exchange about an incident in the remote jungle region of El Peten that might have involved El Chapo began to permeate diplomatic circles. The Interior Minister of Guatemala told journalists that a firefight between drug dealers and the military had resulted in the death of two suspected criminals. “There was a clash between Guatemalan security forces in (the town of) San Francisco,” Interior Minister Mauricio Lopez said Thursday, adding, erroneously: “Two died. One of the deceased is physically very similar to El Chapo.” Cue the Twitter reports of El Chapo’s death, spreading like wildfire. Guatemalan newspaper Prensa Libre said at that point of the night, the government was getting ready to conduct forensics tests to identify the two corpses. Yet later on the same night, Guatemalan officials said they weren’t even sure that the supposed gunfight against the drug dealers had even occurred. Officials also said that military units were patrolling the area to see if they could find any signs of a gun battle between the army and drug traffickers. They did not. On Monday morning, after no El Chapo had been found, Lopez apologized for the government’s blunder on local radio station Emisoras Unidas. He said confusion arose because of over-reliance on testimonies of local villagers, who said that they had seen a clash between the army and drug traffickers. He said too many “contradictory” pieces of information came to officials at once, but Ioan Grillo, a journalist and drug war analyst, had another theory: “My reading of Chapo Guzman drama: a snitch called and said Chapo died in firefight,” Grillo tweeted. “Guatemala pleased with news tells before confirming.” Whatever happened, with regards to this most recent case, there is some reason to believe that El Chapo Guzman is in Guatemala at this time. WikiLeaks suggests that El Chapo is hiding in El Peten, where Mexican cartels have managed to gain a stronghold over drug trafficking routes. Previously US DEA officials have suggested that El Chapo hides in a mountain range in western Mexico, that straddles the states of Durango and Sinaloa. Stay tuned … and stay off Twitter for news.
