For reasons that defy comprehension, Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries remain married. Lawyers for both halves of this estranged couple met in court yesterday, with Kim’s representative complaining that her client is “handcuffed” to Humphries – and not in the usual Kim Kardashian way! So… what the heck is the hold-up here? “Kris is adamant that he wants the [engagement] ring back,” a source tells Radar Online. “And it’s becoming a real sticking point between his and Kim’s attorneys… ” Kris contends that the marriage was a total sham and that Kim only wed him for publicity so therefore she has no right to keep such an expensive gift.” The gift in question cost around $2 million and is 20.5 carats in size. Why would Kim even want to keep it , Humphries allegedly wonders. Why would Kris care , we can shoot back. The guy makes millions of dollars a year playing basketball for a living… when he isn’t getting ejected from games , that is. It’s just another wrinkle in the Kim Kardashian divorce case that will last until February 15th at the earliest. That’s when a judge has set the next hearing. Who do you think takes most of the blame for this mess? Kim Kardashian Kris Humphries Oh my frickin God, they both just need to go far, far away! View Poll »
Lindsay Lohan may have just set the new high water mark for celebrity train wrecks. She’s been hit with FOUR criminal charges on the same day – on different coasts! Police in New York City arrested Lindsay Lohan this morning, which we’ll get to in a moment. Amazingly, the fight she got into may be the least of her problems. The Santa Monica City Attorney’s Office will charge the celebrity with three crimes in connection with her car accident last June on Pacific Coast Highway: Giving false information to a peace officer (carrying a sentence of up to 6 months in jail) Obstructing / resisting a police officer in the performance of his duty (up to a year in jail) Reckless driving (up to 90 days in jail) After ramming her Porsche into a big rig on the PCH, the star she lied to cops, telling them she was the passenger in the car when in fact she was the driver. As a result of those three charges, the judge will likely revoke her probation any day now – for stealing jewelry – and set a hearing to determine her punishment. One of the conditions of probation is that Lindsay must obey all laws … LOL. Then there’s this morning, 3,000 miles away in the city that never sleeps. Lohan punched another woman in the face and got popped for assault. If she’s formally charged with that, her probation could also be revoked in a big way. Apparently, the brawl at Club Avenue was over Max George (from the boy band The Wanted), who was turned off by the fact that LiLo was sloppy drunk . Lindsay went to the Justin Bieber concert last night in NYC, but only to see The Wanted, his opening act. Lohan’s had a thing for Max these last few days. Sources say Lindsay tried to get backstage after the concert, but was blocked. Later that evening, Lindsay met up with Max and his boy band mates at the bar. As the evening wore on, Lindsay got blitzed out of her mind, and it turned Max off. He then started talking to another woman, which enraged Lindsay. That woman is the one Lindsay Lohan is accused of arguing with and punching. Hilariously, Max met another girl in the club and went home with her instead. Lindsay, meanwhile, ended up in the slammer. A day in the life … [Photos: WENN.com]

What the hell?: A Broward County school bus assistant was arrested for aggravated child abuse after he choked a 13-year-old autistic boy with a safety harness on the bus, authorities said. Darryl Blue, 48, of Fort Lauderdale “maliciously punished” the middle school student by choking him with the harness he was wearing on Oct. 9, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said in a complaint affidavit. The boy woke up the next day complaining that his neck was hurting, telling his mother that “Mr. Man” choked him and adding, “Don’t let him hurt me,” according to the affidavit. “Mr. Man” was identified as Blue, the affidavit said. He had small bruises on his neck, it said. Broward schools spokesperson Marsy Smith said that Blue has been reassigned within the Transportation Department to a position away from students pending the outcome of the investigation. His mother, Bertis Paulino, told NBC 6 South Florida that Blue should be fired. She also said that she’d like to meet him. “Honestly I would like to get my hands on him, and it’s not going to be a pretty thing. Because my son has never been exposed to violence,” she said. cbs youtube
Nobody saw this clusterf*ck coming!?!? In what may go down as one of Georgia’s dumbest laws, a new immigration check on medical licenses was meant to weed out ‘illegal’ health care workers in the industry. It’s backfired only a week after it was put in place. According to NPR : Hundreds of health care workers in Georgia are losing their licenses to practice because of a problem created by a new immigration law in the state. The law requires everyone — no matter where they were born — to prove their citizenship or legal residency to renew their professional licenses. With too few state workers to process the extra paperwork, licenses for doctors, nurses, pharmacists and other health professionals are expiring. Lisa Durden with the secretary of state’s office says renewing a license used to be a straightforward process and most applications whizzed through. Now, they crawl. Enactment of the law coincided with budget cuts that reduced the office staff by 40 percent. Kelly Farr, Georgia’s deputy secretary of state, says 600 nurses alone have fallen through the cracks. “There’s nothing more frustrating than getting that call from the desperate nurse, knowing … she’s being slowed down because we literally don’t have enough people to click the approve button,” Farr said. While the secretary of state handles licensing of nurses, pharmacists, and veterinarians, Georgia’s medical board is in charge of doctors, physician assistants and even acupuncturists. It’s the same story there. Director LaSharn Hughes says she sent 41,000 letters of notification out on a recent Thursday. “And by Monday, we’d burned up a fax machine,” Hughes said. “We didn’t have the staff. We didn’t have the equipment.” Phones go unanswered. Paperwork piles up. And processing delays, coupled with confusion over the new rules, mean lots of expired licenses. Hughes estimates about 1,300 doctors and other medical practitioners have lost their legal ability to work. Some didn’t submit the required paperwork. Others are stuck in the backlog of applications that haven’t been processed yet. Donald Palmisano Jr. executive director of the Medical Association of Georgia, says the law fixes a problem that never existed — at least not among doctors. “We’re not aware of any undocumented immigrants that are physicians,” Palmisano said. Even D.A. King, an outspoken activist and critic of illegal immigration who helped write the law, agrees. King says the law protects Georgia jobs, but even he believes some parts of the legislation need fixing. A bill that addressed some of the law’s shortcomings died in the last legislative session. “I am not only outraged, but sincerely disappointed and puzzled that our repair legislation was not allowed a vote,” King says. Legislative sponsors of the law didn’t respond to interview requests. Neither did Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal. For now, state licensing offices will keep plowing through the mail containing copies of passports and birth certificates, then checking them against a list of acceptable documents. But that’s where the vetting ends, confirms Kelly Farr and Lisa Durden of the secretary of state’s office. The law says nothing about making sure the documents are genuine. “We really don’t have a way to do that,” says Durden. State officials say the new document requirements haven’t uncovered any undocumented immigrants. Instead, officials say they hope the process itself may discourage people in the country illegally from trying to get licenses in the first place. Good to know all of the illegal practitioners and registered nurses will be caught now! Images via WABE
Hirsute actor Nick Offerman of Parks & Recreation fame has words of encouragement for men with lackluster facial hair in this new PSA: It gets fuller! Nick Offerman – Your Mo Will Get Fuller The man behind countless hilarious Ron Swanson quotes is manning up for a good cause. Nick and MadeMen (dot) com are joining forces in Movember, a month-long campaign in which men grow mustaches to raise awareness for prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men. “If you know someone that has an in-between ‘stache, maybe a family member or friend, now is the time to give them your support,” he pleads. “Let them know, without judgment, that it gets fuller.” The ad also features cameos from The Office ‘s Brian Baumgartner and Oscar Nunez, who are told to hang tight until their “middle school lip dirt” turns into a “high-class handlebar.” The “It Gets Fuller” slogan used by Offerman is an obvious takeoff on the It Gets Better Project, which is aimed to help LGBT youth who face bullying .
This guy never picked up his car after it got towed and when employees cleaned it out before auction day, they found shocking images on an SD Memory Card. According to The Sun Sentinel : A Palm Beach Gardens man is charged with seven counts of possession of child pornography after a tow-truck employee found a memory card in the man’s SUV that contained several pictures of a young girl being sexually assaulted, police say. Nicholas Eaton Fogarty, 30, admitted to owning the card when police questioned him, according to an arrest report filed by a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office detective. Tow company employees also found a gun belt, police lights, bullets and badges in the vehicle, according to the arrest report. No further details about these items were provided. An employee with All Florida Towing found the SD memory card in Fogarty’s 2002 GMC Envoy and called authorities in October. The tow company had towed the Envoy after it was involved in a crash on Sept. 4, 2012 in North Palm Beach. The next day, Fogarty went to the tow company to retrieve belongings from the vehicle, police said. On Sept. 6, Fogarty’s mother called the tow company to pay for the storage fee for the Envoy by credit card but was told company doesn’t accept credit card numbers over the phone. No further efforts were made by anybody to pay the storage fee and so the vehicle was put up for auction, the arrest report stated. Before putting it up for sale, however, a tow company employee found several items inside the vehicle including an SD card, police said. Two staffers at All Florida Towing viewed the contents of the card and were stunned to see a picture of a girl between 10 and 12 years old being sexually assaulted by a man. They called the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators executed a search warrant on the vehicle on Oct. 22. On Wednesday, Sheriff’s Office detectives met with Fogarty, according to the arrest report. He allegedly admitted, after being read his rights, that he owned the card and received the child porn images by email, but did not delete them. He was arrested. Fogarty was held Thursday in the Palm Beach County Jail in lieu of a $70,000 bail. SMH. We don’t think we’ll ever ‘understand’ the evil minds of child abusers. Hope he rots in prison. Images via PBC
Former New York Yankees pitching prospect Brien Taylor was sentenced to 38 months in prison today after pleading guilty to distributing crack cocaine. Taylor, 40, told U.S. District Court Judge Louise W. Flanagan during his sentencing that he was sorry for causing so much pain to his family and his five daughters. ”I made poor decisions,” he said. His mother, Betty Taylor, and sisters and friends were in the courtroom for the hearing. They, along with Halerie Mahan, Taylor’s attorney, declined to comment. Flanagan said Taylor had been forthright and warned him to be mindful of his conduct as well as whom he associates with when he is released from prison. He’ll face three years of supervised release after his prison term. No financial penalty. ”There will be no fine, since you have children to support,” Flanagan said. Taylor, the No. 1 overall pick in the 1991 draft, could’ve received between 5-40 years in prison. He had been in custody since his March arrest for selling crack and powder cocaine to undercover agents with the Carteret County Sheriff’s Office over several months. In all, Taylor had distributed more than 200 grams of crack cocaine and about 100 grams of powder cocaine, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office. A federal grand jury indicted Taylor in June.
