She also told the officer that she engaged in sexual activity with her Chihuahua and was “training” her Rottweiler. According to the report, in one conversation with the undercover officer Mendell said she was not worried about her 10-year-old son telling anyone about the abuse because he was a special needs child and was unable to speak. During the investigation it was also learned that Mendell had previously abused her teenage daughter as well. Florida Police Union Starts Smear Campaign Against Young Woman Who Posted Video Of Beating We’ve told y’all time and time again to be careful about what you put on social media. Here is a prime example of how crooked a** cops will try to place the blame on black people when they’re the ones out here doing wrong. According to Raw Story : A Florida woman who posted video of a Miami cop beating a black teenager in the back of police cruiser has found herself under attack by the Miami Fraternal Order of Police, reports the Washington Post . Pushing back against social media — described as having placed a very negative tone on law enforcement nationwide” — the Miami Fraternal Order of Police union handed out the name and some purported Facebook photos of Marilyn Smith who posted the video of the cop assault taken by her friend Shenitria Blocker. The video, which has since gone viral, shows an unidentified officer beating a suspected pot suspect in the back of a police cruiser, before another officer tried to yank the recording device from Blocker’s hand. According to Blocker, police told her to delete the video or she would be arrested. Instead she shared the video with Smith who then posted it to her Facebook page, leading to an investigation and suspension of the officer. Javier Ortiz defended the officer saying he was “protecting our community,” before criticizing the public for using social media to shine a light on police abuses by adding, “social media has placed a very negative tone on law enforcement nationwide.” Along with the the statement the Union also handed out screenshots taken from Smith’s Facebook page showing her with black men holding guns. “What is extremely concerning is that the poster of this video (aka Facebook Marilyn Smith) has photographs of her with young men armed with handguns. It seems that no one cares to address this. Social media has focused so much on #blacklifematters [sic] /alllifematters campaigns, yet nobody targets the root of the problem our community faces today,” the statement read. “If the police officer has done something not within policy, it must be corrected. With that said, there is a much more serious message by this video poster. Our community has accepted behavior that motivates violence in our younger generation. It’s time for the community to take a stand against this reckless behavior and stop the violence. As the saying goes: It takes a village to raise a child. Guns don’t belong in the hands of children. It is the responsibility of our stakeholders that live in our community to stop that from occurring in the first place.” Smith has taken her Facebook page down while the case is still being investigated. Black Man Shot And Killed By Cincinnati Police Another day, another police killing of an unarmed Black man. This time, the deceased is a father of 13 who was shot by a campus cop after getting pulled over for a missing front license plate. Via CNN : Cincinnati police are investigating the fatal shooting of an apparently unarmed black man by a University of Cincinnati police officer after a confrontation during a traffic stop Sunday. The dead man, who was shot in the head, was Samuel Dubose, a 43-year-old father of 13 children, according to CNN affiliate WKRC-TV. A CNN records search showed that Dubose had more than 60 arrests. Authorities identified the officer as Ray Tensing, who has five years’ experience in law enforcement and who has worked for the University of Cincinnati Police Department for more than a year. He is white. According to the Cincinnati Police Department, which is handling the investigation, Tensing saw Dubose driving without a front license plate around 6:30 Sunday evening and tried to pull him over. Police said Dubose continued for about a mile before stopping the car. Tensing asked several times to see Dubose’s driver’s license, Cincinnati police said. Instead, police said, Dubose handed the officer a bottle of alcohol. According to police, Tensing asked Dubose to step out of the car, at which point a struggle ensued. “There was a struggle at the door with Mr. Dubose in the vehicle and the officer outside the vehicle, and the vehicle sped away,” Cincinnati police Lt. Col. James Whalen told reporters. Tensing fired a single shot, hitting the driver in the head. Tensing fell to the ground as he fired the shot, bruising his legs and tearing his uniform, Cincinnati police said. It appeared that Dubose did not have a weapon, according to police. SMH!! Florida Man Runs Through Airport In Underwear And Nunchucks A man clad only in his underwear was tased last week after he dashed into the main concourse of Tallahassee Regional Airport claiming he had a plane to catch. Via Tallahassee : Police made contact with 26-year-old Chris Haynes after he sped into the airport’s main entrance and left his vehicle unattended in the drop-off loading zone just before 4 a.m. May 5. Haynes made a statement about having a plane to catch as he continued toward the Transportation Security Administration checkpoint, ignoring multiple commands to stop, court records show. Haynes was tased in the back and the buttocks before he was arrested. He was uninjured and was not in possession of an airline ticket. The police report says Haynes possessed nunchukas, but a Tallahassee Police Department spokesman said an officer made an error in writing the report. Haynes did not have any weapons. The officer who tased Haynes wanted to stop him before he could reach the airport terminal. He wrote in the report he was unsure how close other officers were. “The TSA checkpoint is not secure and the subject may have been able to access the air side of the airport terminal,” the police report says. Airport director Chris Curry said airport runway traffic does not begin until around 6 a.m. on average and there was no impact on operations. Haynes told police he knew the officer was telling him to stop and that he would be tased. After he was detained, he said, “I kinda always wanted to be tased.” He also told the officer his name was God and “was deep within sleep, like beyond sleep.” Police were unable to tell if Haynes was under the influence at the time, court records say. An airport baggage porter told police he saw Haynes pull into the airport, heard him say he had a plane to catch and also corroborated the officer’s commands for him to stop. The video shows Slager not only shooting Scott in the back multiple times, but also planting evidence on his deceased body to justify the lies he told to justify his murder. Just hours after seeing the unarmed man being shot and killed while blatantly running for his life, North Charleston PD decided to arrest and charge one of their own for his actions. Via NBCnews : A police officer in North Charleston, South Carolina, was charged with murder Tuesday after a cell-phone video was released of him fatally shooting an apparently unarmed man in the back following a traffic stop Saturday. Michael Slager, 33, was arrested by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and faces 30 years to life in prison or the death penalty, state officials said in a news release. In the video, which was obtained by The New York Times, Slager shoots at the suspect — later identified as 50-year-old Walter Scott — about eight times as he runs away in a vacant lot. The officer, who is white, said the suspect, who is black, took his Taser and that he feared for his life. The Justice Department is also reviewing the incident, which comes on the heels of other police-related shootings involving unarmed black men. Slager was arrested less than an hour after the video, taken by a bystander, was provided to city and police officials. At a Tuesday news conference, North Charleston Mayor Keith Summey said the decision to charge the officer came after viewing the footage. Good thing the bystander was there to capture what REALLY happened…this cop had lies on deck to tell about what Walter Scott did to “deserve” being shot in the back 8 times. SMH.
