Oklahoma City Thunder star Kendrick Perkins has been arrested in connection with allegedly punching a woman in the face outside of a nightclub in July. Officials say Perkins and-in-law Quincy Alpough were outside Nox nightclub in Harris County, Tex., when they got into an altercation with a woman. Mikeeta Cotton claims that she was driving her car in front of the club and got into a fender bender with Alpough’s female cousin, who came at her. Alpough quickly joined in, pushing her and yelling, Cotton claims, and Perkins also entered the melee, smacking her in the face with a closed fist. Perkins is accused of hitting Cotton ‘s brother as well, while a third person says that Alpough elbowed her in the throat, knocking her unconscious. Cops investigated the situation and decided there was enough evidence to charge Perkins, who is free on $1,000 bail, with misdemeanor assault. Thunder GM Sam Presti issued a statement in response: “We are aware of the allegations and take this matter seriously. We are in the process of gathering more information and have no further comment at this time.” In 2011, Perkins was arrested on charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct for his alleged involvement in a fight outside a bar in Beaumont, Tex.
Republican Congressman James Lankford of Oklahoma received a verbal lashing at a town hall meeting on Tuesday from a man upset with the National Security Agency’s surveillance program. “The DEA and the IRS are getting information from the NSA and using it to frame American citizens and then lying about where they got the information,” Dax Ewbank of Oklahoma City said at the event. “This is what is happening. But her real neighbors are up in arms about changes that have come to Watch Hill, Rhode Island ever since she bought a $17M mansion on the beach there. “Now that summer has come and people are getting ready to use the beach, people are really grumbling about having Taylor in town,” an insider tells RadarOnline.com. “Her property line is at the path to the public beach and she always has guards patrolling the area,” the insider explains. “It’s making it such a hassle.” At another area of Taylor’s property is a beach wall that local teens and surfers have hung out at for years. But now, “her guards are always asking them to leave,” the source says. Taylor’s caution is understandable, considering a stalker was arrested for swimming up to her beach house earlier this month. But, “If she wanted privacy, she shouldn’t have bought a house overlooking a public beach!” the source says. Maybe Chris Brown can give Taylor advice on how to deal with disgruntled neighbors…not.

Tornado Hits Oklahoma City According to Mail Online A mother and child were killed as multiple tornadoes rolled in from the prairie and slammed Oklahoma City and its suburbs on Friday, crumbling cars and tractor-trailers along a major interstate. The broad storm hit during the evening rush hour, causing havoc on Interstate 40, a major artery connecting suburbs east and west of the city. To the south, winds approaching 80 mph were forecast for Moore, where a top-of-the-scale EF5 tornado killed 24 on May 20. Police say the woman was driving an SUV along the interstate near El Reno when the powerful twister flipped the vehicle over. Floodwaters collected in streets. Troopers requested a number of ambulances at I-40 near Yukon, west of Oklahoma City. Hail and heavy rain pelted the metro area to the point that emergency workers had trouble responding to ‘widespread’ reports of injuries. ‘We’re scrambling around,’ said Lara O’Leary, a spokeswoman for the local ambulance agency. ‘There is very low visibility with the heavy rain … so we’re having trouble getting around. ‘The damage is very, very widespread.’ Tornado warnings were also posted Friday night near Tulsa and the area near St. Louis, including Joplin, Mo – where 158 people were killed on May 22, 2011 when an EF-5 tornado struck. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says motorists have been hurt in a storm that hit the Oklahoma City area and that others are missing. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a mother and child were killed as tornadoes moved through Oklahoma City. Highway Patrol Trooper Betsy Randolph says troopers found the bodies in a vehicle along Intersate 40 west of the city Friday. At least six semis on their side at a weight station on I-40 near Oklahoma City, photographer Jim Beckel reported. Numerous vehicles were damaged in the storm and that many motorists are stranded. Oklahoma City’s Will Rogers World Airport was evacuated as the city braced for the tornado, that was moving at 40 mph. Local news reported an estimated 1,200 people were at the airport. NBC News reported that the passengers were herded to the basement and told to put their hands on their heads as they waited out the storm. Tornado sirens were heard blaring in Moore, Oklahoma – that was ravaged by a deadly tornado last week. Storm chasers with cameras in their car transmitted video showing a number of funnels dropping from the supercell thunderstorm as it passed south of El Reno and toward downtown Oklahoma City. Police urged motorists to leave the crosstown Interstate 40 and seek a safe place. The storm was headed toward Oklahoma City, which has more than a million people in the metro area. ‘If you live in downtown Oklahoma City, please go below ground. Do it right now,’ local news forecasters told viewers. The Weather Channel storm chaser van, Tornado Hunt, that was following the approaching tornado was reportedly thrown 200 yards as it tried to track the twister. NBA Players Donate $1 Million To Oklahoma City Tornado Relief The NBA is lending a helping hand to those affected by the recent tornado that ripped through Oklahoma City with a hefty monetary donation to the tune of $1 million. via NBA Website The National Basketball Association and National Basketball Players Association announced today that they will contribute $1 million to support relief efforts in response to the destruction caused by the tornado in the Oklahoma City area. The NBA and the Players Association will join forces with the American Red Cross, Salvation Army, and other disaster relief agencies that are mobilizing their resources to support the recovery and rebuilding efforts. The Oklahoma City Thunder and Thunder star Kevin Durant have each donated $1 million to the relief efforts, and several NBA teams, and current and former players are also contributing to aid in the recovery. Players and team personnel of the Thunder, the WNBA’s Tulsa Shock, and the NBA D-League’s Tulsa 66ers will continue to provide local support, assisting in on-the-ground relief efforts in addition to the ongoing support by the NBA family.
