In a word: WTH ?!? An oral surgeon named Dr. Wayne Harrington may have given thousands of patients HIV and/or a type of Hepatitis, the Tulsa Health Department reports, after a raid of his office uncovered atrocious sterilization practices. The state dental board is looking into this disturbing case and the federal Drug Enforcement Agency is even getting involved because a patient who tested positive for Hepatitis C and HIV claimed her only recent risk factor was a dental appointment. Upon an examination of Harrington’s office, authorities found rusty instruments and other clear violations that Susan Rogers – executive director of Oklahoma’s Board of Dentistry – referred to as “perfect storm” for disease spreading. Harrington and his staff told investigators that the surgeon treated a “high population of known infectious disease carrier patients,” based on a complaint filed by the Oklahoma Board of Dentistry. He reportedly permitted unlicensed dental assistance to give medication, while drug cabinets were simply left unlocked and unsupervised. Over 7,000 patients were exposed to Harrington’s methods and The Tulsa Health Department says these individuals will receive letters by mail notifying them of the risk and steps to obtain free testing.
$60k? Where do we sign up? A man who was arrested for panhandling without a permit told police officers he was too lazy to get a job because he could make $60,000 a year begging. Shane Warren Speegle was allegedly caught panhandling near Interstate 40 and Macarthur Boulevard in Oklahoma City earlier this month. Officers informed the 45-year-old that he was breaking the law and that he would need to pay $200 for a permit to solicit in the area. The 45-year-old asked if he could get a permit that day as $200 was relatively cheap, according to KOCO.com. When the officer asked why Speegle did not just look for a job, he replied: ‘I’m lazy, and I made $60,000 doing this last year. Why would I go get a job?’ The officer left after asking the beggar to leave the area and reminding him that he could not panhandle without a permit. But when the officer returned a mere 20 minutes later, he found Speegle panhandling in the same spot. He was arrested on a complaint of soliciting from the street and taken to the Oklahoma County jail. Racks on racks on racks!! Source
Dwyane Wade is currently battling the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA Finals. But the elite shooting guard was faced with an obstacle far greater than guarding Kevin Durant this weekend, when his estranged ex-wife attempted to kidnap the former couple’s two children. A rep for the Cook County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that Siohvaughn Funches-Wade was arrested for allegedly trying to abduct the boys, saying in a statement: “Siohvaughn Funches-Wade was charged with two counts of attempted child abduction, two counts of unlawful visitation interference and one count of resisting arrest.” She posted $10,000 bond and will appear in court again this August. Dwyane – who is dating actress Gabrielle Union – has legal custody of the children and will reportedly use this incident to limit Siohvaughn’s visitation rights, considering it’s not even her first foray into seriously shady behavior. In the past couple years, Siohvaughn has sued Union for causing emotional distress and also accused Wade of giving her a STD .

Finally ladies have some official fan gear that isn’t pink! NBA Licenses Custom-Made High Heels For Women The men of the NBA have never shied away from making fashion statements. There have been Daisy Duke-style shorts, shants (the baggy hybrid of shorts and pants), Pat Riley Armani suits, Air Jordans, Dennis Rodman tattoos, piercings, and hair dyes, and Allen Iverson sideways caps and corn rows. This season the Urkel-meets-Brooklyn-hipster costume is making headlines, best exemplified by the colorful wire framed glasses sans lenses worn by the Miami Heat’s Dwayne Wade and LeBron James, and the big boy fishy, teddy bear and umbrella-themed polo shirts worn by the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Russell Westbrook. But the latest trend the NBA is hoping to bank on is a new offering for its female fans: high heels. Yesterday the league announced its license agreement with Orlando-based shoe designer Herstar for a line of heels that includes two designs available for all 30 teams. One is a 6-inch crystal beaded version currently retailing for $275, the other a 4-inch microsuede version retailing for $99. Yes, 6-inch and 4-inch heels. The founder and CEO of Herstar, Holly Joffrion, can explain. Frustrated when nothing came of her online search for a pair of sport high heels to wear to an Orlando Magic game she was attending with her husband, the shoe designer had the vision of making her own team-themed pair. She worked on some prototype images with various teams’ logos and then last September the 25-year old posted a few on her website to gauge fan interest. Within three days, without any marketing or promotion, while the league was on the verge of its lockout, she found she was not the only one searching for such shoes. She had over 100 requests for her prototypes. Fortunately Joffrion already had her manufacturer and distributor lined up, as she had already been in the shoe business for five years. But the next hurdle was the NBA license agreement application. Without it she was unable to make or sell the shoes. So for three months she and her husband, who has a background in finance, hustled to get the paperwork done. By the time she presented her application to the NBA in February, Herstar’s back orders were in the hundreds, still without the company engaging in any marketing or advertising, outside of Facebook and Pinterest postings. It was more than enough to make up for the lack of 3-year sales figures the league requested on the merchandise. Additionally, by that point Joffrion had been so overwhelmed by requests for something higher than the 3-inch pair she had online, that she first added the 4-inch heels to the mix and later when asked for even higher, offered the 6-inch version. (For the record, Herstar will customize to lower lengths.) Yesterday after the NBA’s press release, Herstar’s sales jumped 400 percent on daily volume; traffic for the company’s website, where the shoes are primarily sold, jumped from a typical 4,000 daily hits to 35,000 hits. In total the company has sold enough pairs of heels to cover the initial $30,000 upfront license fee the NBA required and is already profitable. Current customers include the Orlando Magic’s Dwight Howard and Daniel Orton, while the top three sales markets are the San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Lakers and the Oklahoma City Thunder. This lady is about to get PAID! Vicky Picca, the NBA’s senior vice president of licensing and business affairs, said the league and more importantly its 25 million female NBA fans in the US couldn’t be happier. “Our female business has tripled over the last 5 years and what our fans were saying is that they no longer wanted a pink version of a male product,” said Picca. “This appeals to our savvy female consumer.” Ladies, would you rock a pair of these hoops heels? Memo to Lil Wayne: You need “tickets” to get into an “event.” If the tickets are sold out, then you usually can’t go. Sometimes there are exceptions, but usually not for a game that has already been sold out for weeks, and generally not for seats better than 99.9 percent of the people who bought them already. Lil Wayne learned this the hard way last night. Weezy felt like going to Thursday’s NBA playoff tilt between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the visiting San Antonio Spurs. The Thunder, with no seats to spare (least of all any courtside seats, which he insisted on sitting in), politely declined. Thunder spokesman Dan Mahoney says Lil Wayne’s reps did contact the team requesting tickets, but insisted he sit on the front row, and no seats were available. Oklahoma City sold out every game during the regular season and playoffs this year. Mahoney says: “We’d love to have him, but like anyone else, he needs a ticket.” Makes sense to us. But apparently not LW, who Tweeted this: That’s right, denied by the team, as if they were making some kind of statement. What a douche. Also, no way he was rooting for the Spurs last night. None.
Maybe they should change their names to the Oklahoma City Janitors… The Oklahoma City Thunder Beat The Los Angeles Lakers 77-75 In Game 2 Of Western Conference Semi-Final Even down late, the Oklahoma City Thunder are showing that they are never out. Kevin Durant scored 22 points and rattled in the go-ahead basket on a baseline runner with 18 seconds left, and the Thunder scored the final nine points to rally for a 77-75 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals Wednesday night. Oklahoma City trailed by seven with 2 minutes left before surging back with a series of defensive stops by its stars to claw back from that deficit in the closing stages of a game for the second time this postseason. The Thunder were also seven down with 2 1/2 minutes left in Game 1 against defending NBA champion Dallas in the first round. “They won’t quit. That’s not in their DNA,” coach Scott Brooks said. “They’re not wired that way and if they were, they wouldn’t be here. We’re not going to win every game but we’re going to fight to the last second of the game and we did that tonight.” “If we would have gotten down on ourselves with 2 minutes to go, we would have lost by 12 and we would go to L.A. 1-1.” Instead, Oklahoma City takes a 2-0 lead into Game 3 on Friday night at Staples Center. Laker coach Mike Brown spoke on the Lakers sadness and despair. “It’s not good. I don’t think anybody’s happy in there (in the locker room),” coach Mike Brown said. ”We felt like we let one slip away.” Bryant was right at the heart of the meltdown, missing two shots and having a hand in two turnovers in the final 2 minutes. The first turnover came when Durant used his nearly 7-foot frame and impressive wingspan to come up with an energizing steal and fast-break chance. “He used his length on Kobe. Coming up with that steal was huge,”Brown said. “That’s what great players are supposed to do. They’re supposed to take on the challenge at the end of the game and he did. “He won the game for them, basically.” Do you think the Lakers have ANY chance at beating these young boys in OKC??
