Feds Arrest Dwight Freeney’s Financial Advisors For Embezzling Over $2 Million From NFL Player SMH… This is why you can’t trust anybody around your money! NFL player Dwight Freeney had to learn that lesson the hard way. According to TMZ reports : While Indianapolis Colts stud Dwight Freeney was crushing NFL QBs … 2 financial advisors allegedly sacked him in an embezzlement scheme involving millions of dollars, luxury hotels, and a private jet … TMZ has learned. According to the Federal complaint — obtained by TMZ — Eva D. Weinberg and Michael A. Stern were busted late last week after a lengthy investigation revealed how they “conspired to defraud victim D.F., a professional football player.” According to the docs, Weinberg is a financial advisor at Bank of America who worked with Freeney, controlled several of his accounts, and introduced him to Stern … also a financial advisor. The feds claim Weinberg and Stern did major damage between May 2010 and October 2011 — making $2.2 million in fraudulent transfers from Dwight’s accounts to Arms Reach Consulting — a company controlled by Stern. When Freeney finally noticed one of the bogus transfers in 2011, and discovered Weinberg and Stern were dating … he called the FBI. One FBI investigator says some of the items Weinberg and Stern purchased with Freeney’s cash include expensive sunglasses, stays in luxury hotels, and — best of all — they planned to buy a private jet for $1.5 million! According to the docs, agents even heard Stern brag on the phone … “no one would be able to connect him to the [consulting] account if the wire transfers were investigated.” Clearly he was wrong … agents arrested Weinberg in L.A. and Stern in Miami. Both were charged with wire fraud. Calls to Freeney’s attorney were not immediately returned. Damn son… They were trying to get a private plane with his money!!! More On Bossip! A Bay County man is in police custody after reportedly becoming so angry about dinner that he fired one shot at his wife with a handgun. Bay County Sheriff’s deputies say the wife called 911 from the couple’s basement after an argument. She told the dispatcher that her husband was “highly intoxicated.” According to a news release, the 62-year-old man was upset about dinner and shot at his wife, narrowly missing her. Authorities said when deputies arrived at the scene they used a loud speaker to coax the man from his home. The wife was not injured in the incident. The man is being held in the Bay County Jail on various weapon charges. Source More On Bossip! Sunday School Teacher Who Tried To Meet Up With A 14-Year-Old For Sex Met Police Instead A 21-year-old man from Douglas County is charged with enticing a child for sex — a girl whom he met in his Sunday School class. Brent Turley, 21, who also goes by Pete, lives in Norwood. Investigators say he planned to secretly meet a 14-year-old girl at a Mountain Grove city park. “(He was) wanting to meet on Monday. It was all arranged through text messages,” said Wright County Sheriff Glenn Adler. Adler says Turley intended to take the girl he’d taught in Sunday school “parking,” and then have sex. He met officers instead. “It is saddening that someone would use their position within a church to maybe do this. However, I don’t want that to reflect on the church. Everybody has employees, and you can’t control what the people who work for you do once they leave your office,” said Douglas County Sheriff Chris Degase. The only reason law enforcement caught Turley is the 14-year-old girl’s mom took the initiative to look at her daughter’s phone. When she saw suspicious messages, she started asking questions. “Parents have a right to get in their kids’ phone. Get in your kids’ phone: see who they’re texting. We were very fortunate that this mother got into the phone,” said Degase. Investigators say Turley, who is married with a 4-month-old baby, also communicated with the girl on Facebook, where predators find easy access to impressionable youth. “If they’re going to have one, make them produce the password and username to get on there,” said Adler. Law enforcement say Turley also confessed to sex acts with a 12-year-old and a 16-year-old, both from Douglas County. “What I know of it, I think there’s probably going to be some other victims involved in it,” said Adler. Turley is charged with one felony count of enticement of a child. Charges in the other cases are pending. Source More On Bossip! Sometimes the laws made to “protect us” end up doing more harm than good. Sanford police let George Zimmerman go home after he shot and killed Trayvon Martin last month, but Central Florida police agencies routinely make arrests for murder in “stand your ground” cases — and then let courts decide if a killing is justified. Passage of Florida’s landmark self-defense law in October 2005 caused initial confusion, but court records show police and prosecutors now file charges more often than not. Central Florida’s “stand your ground” claimants already in prison or awaiting trial range from an off-duty security guard to a retired Orlando police officer, bar patrons and a man who chopped off his cousin’s hand with a machete. So if police make these type of arrests regularly, why the hell isn’t George Zimmerman punk azz walking the streets??? Those and many other cases headed for trial share a common factor: witnesses willing to testify. In January 2011, 15 to 20 people were nearby when Chad Bekari Smith claimed two men shot at him outside an Orlando gas station. A security guard and father of three, Smith drew his licensed pistol, wounded both men, called 911 on his cellphone and waited for police to arrive, according to his arrest report. “I was going to lose my life, so I reacted and defended my life,” Smith, then 23, told his lawyer, according to court records. But police did not believe him. Nor did a jury that convicted Smith last fall of two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. His conviction and 20-year prison sentence are under appeal. Unlike that case, there were no known eyewitnesses when Trayvon died Feb. 26 in a confrontation with Zimmerman inside the gated Retreat at Twin Lakes neighborhood. The teen was walking back from a 7-Eleven when he was followed by Zimmerman, 28, a Neighborhood Watch volunteer who fired a single shot and later told police Trayvon attacked him, records show. That’s hardest type of case for prosecutors. When the alleged aggressor is dead and there are no witnesses, “it is harder to disprove or to prove beyond a reasonable doubt” that the shooter claiming self-defense faced a credible threat, according to Randy Means, chief investigator and spokesman for the Orange-Osceola State Attorney’s Office. “Since very little case law exists, all we have to go on is our interpretation of the statute. It’s too new for us to use case law effectively,” Means said. “It is frustrating for the charging prosecutors.” Ultimately, the decision to charge Zimmerman with murder lies in the hands of State Attorney Norm Wolfinger who was one of several prosecutors who lobbied AGAINST “stand your ground” in 2006. Hopefully his stance on the law will help set the type of precedent needed to put George Zimmerman in jail for a LONG time! Source More On Bossip! Justice for a Black Man killed by a white teen, in Mississippi ? We didn’t think it was possible, but Wednesday a Judge lay into 19-year-old Deryl Dedmon over his brutal killing of 47-year-old James Craig Anderson: A white teenager pleaded guilty to murder and a hate crime Wednesday for running over a black man with his pickup truck in a killing a judge called a stain on Mississippi that will take years to fade. Deryl Dedmon, 19, apologized to the victim’s family before he received two life sentences for the June 26 death of James Craig Anderson, a 47-year-old car plant worker who loved to sing in his church choir and was remembered for his sense of humor. Dedmon, a slight, blonde man wearing a blue jumpsuit, looked down as prosecutors described the killing. Dedmon admitted that he and a group of white teens were partying in Puckett, a small town outside the capital city, when he suggested they find a black man to harass and went to Jackson because of its majority-black population. They found Anderson before dawn outside a hotel. He was beaten before Dedmon ran over him. Prosecutors said Dedmon and others had targeted blacks for harassment before, usually homeless or drunk people who weren’t likely to report it to police. The victim’s sister, Barbara Anderson Young, fought back tears when she addressed the court. “My brother Craig would give you the shirt off of his back. Because of my brother, James Craig Anderson, our lives were richer, with love, respect and a love of God,” she said. “We, the Anderson family, are praying for racial reconciliation not just in Mississippi but all over this land and country. We are praying for the defendant, Dedmon, and his family that they find peace.” When it was his turn to speak, Dedmon’s shackles rattled as he turned and faced the Anderson family. “I am sincerely sorry. I do take full responsibility for my actions on that night. I pray for y’all’s family every day … and that God will soften your hearts to forgive me,” Dedmon said. Members of both families, sitting on opposite sides of a wooden court bench, wiped away tears. “I was young. I was dumb. I was ignorant … I was not raised the way that I acted that night. I was raised in a godly house. As I stand before you today, I am a changed man. I am a godly man. God has showed me to see no colors. God showed me that we are all made in the image of God so we are all based on the same thing … I do not ask y’all to forget, but I do ask y’all to forgive.” Hinds County Circuit Judge Jeff Weill Sr. had the last word. “Your prejudice has brought shame upon you and placed a great stain on the state of Mississippi. Whatever excuse you may offer for what you have done, forget that. There’s no excuse that you can offer for the family of Mr. Anderson or to your fellow Mississippians who have to try to reconcile the horrible damage you have caused,” Weill said. Weill recalled the 1964 killings of three civil rights workers who were murdered and buried in an earthen dam in a rural area in what became known as “Mississippi Burning.” “All the hard work we have done to move our state forward from that earthen dam in Neshoba County to here has been stained by you. A stain that will take years to fade,” the judge said. The case received widespread attention after a video of Anderson’s death was obtained by news organizations. The video, taken by a hotel surveillance camera, shows a green Ford truck back up in the hotel parking lot, then lunge forward. Anderson’s shirt is illuminated in the headlights before he disappears under the vehicle. Police said Dedmon was driving the truck and later bragged that he ran over Anderson, using a racial slur to describe him. Dedmon was indicted for capital murder, which in Mississippi carries a sentence of death or life in prison without parole, but District Attorney Robert Shuler Smith said prosecutors couldn’t have gotten a conviction. For capital murder, there must be an underlying offense, which had been robbery. Smith said that the investigation revealed that the group did not take Anderson’s wallet, as investigators first believed. Anderson’s family also asked prosecutors not to pursue the death penalty, saying they oppose it. They have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against seven teens, including two young girls who were allegedly in the truck with Dedmon. One of the teens, John Aaron Rice, is charged with simple assault in the case. Authorities said he left the scene in another vehicle before Anderson was killed. Rice has pleaded not guilty and is free on a $5,000 bond. The FBI has been investigating the case, too, and the judge told Dedmon that his guilty plea in state court would not prevent him from facing federal charges. Smith said after the hearing there may be additional arrests and promised more details at a news conference Thursday. Smith said this is the first hate crime prosecution in Mississippi that he could find. “This guilty plea is just the beginning,” Smith said. So sad. It sounds like they are going to prosecute him to the full extent of the law. Even if they can’t do more than give him another life sentence it is important that he be hit with every charge — especially in the state of Mississippi where so many black men lost their lives only to never receive justice. Eddie loves him a bangin’ bawwwdy so this shouldn’t come as a surprise but for some reason we never figured Toni Braxton as his type, but guess he decided he could take a detour from his usual tall and manly shtick to chop down the singer. According to US Weekly reports : The singer, 44, and comic actor, 50, “are seeing each other and very into it,” a source tells Us Weekly, adding that the romance started up four months ago. The Tower Heist star — who has eight kids from previous relationships — even cheered on the mother of two (who’s been separated from singer Keri Lewis since 2009), backstage at her Feb. 19 L.A. concert. While Braxton’s rep insists “Toni and Eddie are just friends and have been fans of each other’s work for a long time,” the insider says, “Their kids have met and everything. It’s getting very serious.” In addition to first wife Nicole Mitchell, Murphy dated former Spice Girl Melanie Brown from 2006 to 2007, and exchanged marital vows with Tracey Edmonds in 2008 in a “symbolic” ceremony that was never made legal. Back in the late 1980s, Murphy was linked to another big-voiced R&B superstar: the late Whitney Houston. Braxton’s search for love after her split from Lewis was a major plot point in the most recent season of her reality show Braxton Family Values. Congratulations and best of luck to them. “Not those party favors… Mom!” The mother of an 8-year-old Madeira Elementary student was arrested at the school Tuesday afternoon on drug possession charges. Police arrived at the school just prior to dismissal after staff reported a parent was intoxicated or under the influence of drugs. Police said staff members heard Emily C. Rosenberger, 31, making “snorting” sounds in a bathroom stall. When she came out, staff members said she exhibited strange behavior. Police said Rosenberger was attending a Valentine’s Day party at the school, where her daughter is a student. Police said staff members promptly removed Rosenberger from the students’ presence and notified police. “The principal called; actually, I took the call,” said Madeira Police Chief Frank Maupin. “She said they were concerned. A parent was there visiting and they heard strange noises in the bathroom.” Police said Rosenberger was in possession of hydrocodone, OxyContin, oxycodone and white powder that tested positive for cocaine. Police said she also had a large sum of cash on her. “I’m concerned if she is, in fact, selling these drugs, it’s bringing people into her neighborhood that aren’t desirable to be there,” Maupin said. Rosenberger was charged with three counts of possession of drugs and one count of possession of illegal drug paraphernalia. Court records indicate Rosenberger had in her possession a straw with white powder inside. She was transported to the Hamilton County Justice Center. Bond was set Wednesday at $2,500. Rosenberger was ordered to stay away from her children, and she must be electronically monitored if she is released. Rosenberger’s daughter was released to her grandparents upon dismissal Tuesday, but police said just a month ago, the child’s grandmother, Stephanie Rosenberger, was in trouble with the law, too. Police said Stephanie Rosenberger smashed through a Pilates business and drove home with debris dangling from the hood, finally parking in her driveway several blocks away. “They located her vehicle in the driveway with part of the building still on the hood,” Maupin said. Police said Hamilton County Children’s Services has been made aware of Tuesday’s incident. Read more: http://www.wlwt.com/news/30460413/detail.html#ixzz1mdwVaVZj
