In a funny new video, the talk show host splices actual footage from the Monday’s confrontational Women Tell All special and puts herself in the hot seat. Much like the controversial Courtney Robertson was in real life, Ellen finds herself on the defensive amid a barrage of allegations, name-calling and worse. Costumed like a stereotypical Bachelor girl, sporting sparkling earrings and an equally glittering jacket, she admits she was there for the wrong reasons. “I really did come here to make friends,” Ellen says. “I was not here for Ben. Superior Court Thursday morning, arguing against a motion DMX filed in their ongoing paternity case — in which the rapper asked the court for permission to perform in Europe. By James Montgomery Andrew Jenks speaks with young voters in “Power of 12: Our Voice” Photo: MTV News In December, filmmaker Andrew Jenks hit the road to talk with young voters — and the Republican candidates currently courting them — as part of MTV’s Power of 12 campaign, our ongoing coverage of the 2012 election. And, well, let’s hope he packed a big suitcase. Because for the next 11 months — from the pre-primary stump speeches to the last minute of Election night — Jenks will be working overtime for MTV , covering the race for the White House and amplifying the voices of the 45 million voters ages 18 to 29, who not only make up one of the largest voting blocs, but genuinely hold the power to swing the election. The first of his reports, “Our Voice,” premiered Tuesday (December 20) on MTV, and can be seen in this story. In it, we follow Jenks as he crosses the country interviewing young voters — everyone from high-school students concerned about attending college and members of the ongoing Occupy Wall Street protests to the recently graduated unemployed and returning war veterans. The 25-year-old filmmaker gets their take on the issues that matter the most, and scores face time with a handful of Republican presidential hopefuls, including Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney and Ron Paul. “Our Voice” is just the first phase MTV’s “Power of 12” series, which will also include the MTV News docu-series “When I Was 22,” which gives viewers a unique look at the lives of the men who may be president, painting a portrait of each candidate in their early 20s. The online game “Fantasy Election ’12” will allow users to draft a team of candidates pursuing the White House, Senate and House of Representatives, and rack up points, just like in fantasy baseball or football. The first-of-its kind game also rewards players for getting involved in the electoral process — they’ll get extra points for registering to vote, “checking in” to town halls and debates, and discussing issues with friends. MTV News will begin its coverage of the election on the ground in Iowa and New Hampshire, with Jenks and MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway at the helm. Abercrombie & Fitch is trying to end their ongoing feud with Jersey Shore star The Situation, asking a judge to dismiss his lawsuit against the clothing retailer. If you recall, the ongoing war between Sitch and A&F began back in August when A&F publicly offered to pay The Situation NOT to wear its overpriced duds. A month later, Sitch (real name Mike Sorrentino) sued them, claiming it ripped off his “GTL” and “Situation” trademarks on a line of guido-mocking t-shirts. Now, A&F is trying to put an end to the back-and-forth, claiming he had no right to sue them in the first place because he doesn’t own those very trademarks. He has applied for them, but doesn’t own them. Big, legal difference there. Moreover, A&F claims The Situation’s application for “Gym Tan Laundry” has actually been suspended, because MTV already owns “Gym Tanning Laundry.” The US Patent & Trademark Office thinks they’re too similar. Makes sense. Trademarks aside, A&F insists its shirts are still protected under a law that allows parody as free speech … in other words, the shirts are a harmless joke. Sources connected with Cher and Chaz say the criticism over a transgender contestant has given the star even more resolve to stand behind her child. Cher is not saying which day she’ll show, or if she will sing on one of the results show, but has made it clear she will be in the audience “at least once.” Insiders say Cher’s motive is not to drive votes for her son but simply to show support and make a statement against what she considers to be bigotry. Last week, the proud mom took to Twitter to hit back at those who say Chaz – her only child with Sonny Bono – coming on the show is somehow wrong. While there have been some harsh critics, Bono has the vocal support of partner Lacey Schwimmer, as well as co-stars Elisabetta Canalis and Kristin Cavallari .
