Clock Out Creeps: Time’s Up Legal Fund Established To Defend All Women From Overly Aggressive Overtures

(Gabriel Olsen/WireImage) Celebrity Women Show Solidarity Across All Industries With Announcement Of Time’s Up If you hadn’t already noticed, the ladies of Hollywood have officially gotten into formation , kicking off 2018 with January 21 announcements (along with ads in The New York Times and La Opinion) revealing that some 300 powerful Hollywood women have vowed solidarity with women across all industries who have suffered sexual harassment, abuse and pay inequality. More importantly, one of the main objectives of the initiative is to raise money ($15 million is the goal, with over $13 million already raised) to fund legal representation for the women who will need it most. Along with social media posts from some of the most famous actresses and directors in the business, the website for the initative published an open letter that acknowledged how the revelations about Harvey Weinstein and other alleged creeps helped bring attention to the problem, while admitting it was mainly when the actresses involved received a letter of solidarity from the Alianza Nacional de Campesinas (the National Farmworker Women’s Alliance) that they knew something bigger must be done. “It’s very hard for us to speak righteously about the rest of anything if we haven’t cleaned our own house,” Shonda Rhimes, the executive producer of the television series “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Scandal” and “How to Get Away With Murder,” who has been closely involved with the group, told the NY Times “If this group of women can’t fight for a model for other women who don’t have as much power and privilege, then who can?” Ms. Rhimes continued. Other Time’s Up members include the actresses Ashley Judd, Eva Longoria, America Ferrera, Natalie Portman, Rashida Jones, Emma Stone, Kerry Washington and Reese Witherspoon; the showrunner Jill Soloway; Donna Langley, chairwoman of Universal Pictures; the lawyers Nina L. Shaw and Tina Tchen, who served as Michelle Obama’s chief of staff; and Maria Eitel, an expert in corporate responsibility who is co-chairwoman of the Nike Foundation. “People were moved so viscerally,” said Ms. Eitel, who helps moderate Time’s Up meetings, which began in October. “They didn’t come together because they wanted to whine, or complain, or tell a story or bemoan. They came together because they intended to act. There was almost a ferociousness to it, especially in the first meetings.” Time’s up is run by volunteers, there is no formal leader. The initiative is also formed by several groups, including one which oversaw the creation of a commission, led by Anita Hill which is working towards making a blueprint for ending sexual harassment in entertainment. There’s another group called 50/50by2020 which is pushing entertainment organizations and companies to agree to reach gender parity in their leadership tiers within two years. Lena Waithe is working with yet another organization to ensure minorities and gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgender people are heard. “No one wants to look back and say they stood at the sidelines,” said Lena Waithe, a star of the Netflix series “Master of None” and part of that working group. Time’s Up is also urging women to wear black at this Sunday’s Golden Globes, and to use the red carpet as an opportunity to speak out about gender and racial inequality and to raise awareness about the initiative. This is HUGE… We urge you to read the messages from Time’s up below and to read the open letter on their website BECAUSE this is truly an issue that affects ALL of us. More messages from some of our favorites in entertaiment when you continue.

Megyn Kelly Interviews Innocent Black Man Wrongly Convicted AND Crooked White Cop Who Framed Him

(Photo by: Nathan Congleton/NBC/NBCU Photo Bank via Getty Images) Megyn Kelly Interviews Bad Cop And Wrongfully Convicted Black Man He Framed About Their Unlikely Friendship Dang, did we have it wrong about Megyn Kelly ? Or nah? This week, for a special segment on forgiveness Megyn Kelly sat down with a white former police officer and one of the black men he framed, resulting in a ten-year sentence for drug dealing. Watch below: Here are the basics: Andrew Collins started falsifying warrants and police reports while working at the Benton Harbor Police Department. Three years later, while on the job, Collins mistakenly accused Jameel McGee of dealing drugs. Collins tailored police report falsely stating McGee was in possession of drugs and the man was convicted and sentenced to 10 years in jail. Three years into his sentence, McGee discovered Collins had been arrested. Collins told Kelly that he was “called to” reconcile with McGee after coincidentally meeting him in a park. “How did you get past the point of ‘Oh, no,’ to now they call each other brothers?” Kelly asked McGee. McGee suggested God had brought the two men together: “I know it wasn’t my doing.” “It was the Lord,” Kelly insisted. “It took years to get to this point,” McGee noted. Collins said that he had also been able to forgive himself after years of being a dirty cop. “Because I can’t walk through what God has for me if I’m going to keep myself in a prison of my past,” Collins opined. “And we also realized that God saved this story for a very unique time in our country. You know, you see a black man who was innocent, completely innocent, framed by a white police officer.” In 2011, after finally forming a friendship, Collins and McGee wrote their book, Convicted: A Crooked Cop, An Innocent Man And An Unlikely Journey of Forgiveness. Does this interview help change your opinion about Megyn Kelly?

Nicki Minaj Denys Whitewashing In Hip-Hop Comments After Labeled ‘Racist’ By Critics

More:

There is whitewashing all throughout the entertainment industry, so it is never really a surprise when a current case of it is pointed out. Rapper Nicki Minaj wanted to shed light on her perception of the whitewashing of hip-hop, but she quickly backtracked and was still labeled racist by critics who firmly disagreed with her social media post. In a screenshot of the Top Hip-Hop Songs on the iTunes chart, Nicki Minaj first captioned the post “It’s a great time to be a white rapper in America huh?” After tons of backlash ensued with Minaj being called a racist, she modified her captioned twice more and bashed those who said she was racist in the first place. Minaj then followed that up with a since-deleted lengthy post that expressed her right to speak her opinion on whatever she wants, whenever she wants and those that don’t approve should feel free to unfollow. She also stated that “Whenever a black woman speaks on ANYTHING she’s labelled ‘mad’, ‘angry’ and ‘bitter.’” All of this would have been fine if she didn’t feel the need to edit her initial post. Either you feel that hip-hop is whitewashed and want to make a firm point about it or you don’t. Instead it appears that she wanted to appease her white fans by backtracking on her comments. There’s a lot of contradiction here, but that’s how many celebrities operate these days. Farrah Abraham: Here’s the Kind of Guy I’m Looking For!

Even though Farrah Abraham thinks that Teen Mom is “too fake” to win a Critic’s Choice Award , she definitely has a higher opinion of herself than she does of the franchise that made her famous. Farrah Abraham tells you exactly what she thinks of herself on her profile on this new app for “connecting” people. Honeslty, her self-description is wild . And Farrah also describes the sorts of people with whom she’s looking to “connect.” But she claims that she’s not trying to hook up or date. Sure . RadarOnline  interviewed Farrah and got a hold of her Bumble profile. “International celebrity, Teen Mom on MTV, business mogul, New York Times best selling author, Advocate for safe contraception, Owner/Founder Furnished By Farrah, Froco, Sophia Laurent.” These are so much to absorb, so let’s go through them item-by-item, okay?  “International celebrity.” Technically? Sure. You can be an international celeb without being A-List. Or B-List. Or C-List. “Teen Mom on MTV.” So she’s having fun bashing MTV at every opportunity , but she’s clearly not above dropping the name of the successful franchise that made her the woman she is today. “Business mogul.” A mogul is defined as  an important or powerful person , which is not how we would describe Farrah Abraham in our wildest dreams or most twisted nightmares. The rest of that? Fine, we’ll give it to her. But Farrah’s profile has more to say. This time, it’s about the sorts of “connections” that she’d like to make. “Love to connect with smart, intelligent, creative, and open-minded people.” Is she looking for open-minded people who won’t judge her for her sex work? Because that’s fine. Or is it Farrah Abraham’s racist insults that she’s hoping that people will accept? Farrah also explained to RadarOnline  what her totally-non-horny purpose was for joining Bumble. “I joined Bumble Business, but I see they have Bumble BFF and Bumble Dating.” We think that she’s referring to Bumble Bizz. We can’t bash the name, because a lot of people have done very serious networking on Twitter. An app’s name needs to be memorable, not serious. “I’ve only so far enjoyed the business events in Austin with other company owners and entrepreneur creative events.” Gee, you’d almost think that the whole interview might be some sort of elaborate product endorsement. (We’re kidding — that was clear from the start) “I have no time for dating right now.” Well, she’s still sort of a Teen Mom OG  star, she’s an actual mom, she’s starting a lingerie line, and she’s doing endorsement deals like this shameless Bumble plug and also named ambassador for sexual positivity . If Farrah’s really using the app, she should know that — though we can’t speak for Bundle’s clientele — a lot of the times, men who say that they’re fine just being friends are actually lying. It’s easy to see some dude seeing that she’s on, being curious about a (minor) celebrity, and stumbling across Farrah Abraham’s camgirling adventures . If he didn’t have ideas before, he might start to come up with a few. Not even Farrah deserves unwanted attention. Though, again, we don’t know that Farrah actually uses it. This sounded like a product endorsement, not a genuine confession. View Slideshow: Farrah Abraham: Was She Really Fired From Teen Mom OG? An Investigation

Jenelle Evans: Why Is She Taking Legal Action Against Her Co-Stars?

Take a moment and imagine having Jenelle Evans as a co-worker. (We'll pause here to allow you some time to finish convulsing on the floor in agony.) As you can imagine, sharing an employer with the Teen Mom 2 terror would present a number of challenges, including, but not limited to: – Random social media feuds. – Possible physical altercations. – Unexpected legal action. It seems some of her MTV co-stars were reminded today of just how volatile Jenelle can be thanks to a surprise call from her attorneys. Which cast members is Evans so furious with, and what did they do that enraged her so much that she's threatening to sue them over it? Fortunately for us, they're sharing their misery on Twitter. Get the details below and brace yourselves for when the Caroline Hurricane makes landfall … 1. Mystery Tantrum Usually, when Jenelle is pissed off about something, she makes the cause of her consternation abundantly clear. This time, however, there’s a good deal of confusion about exactly what’s got Jenelle’s goat. And it seems she’d like to keep it that way… 2. Cease and Desist Apparently, Jenelle’s lawyers sent cease and desist letters to several Teen Mom 2 regulars, including Kailyn Lowry, Chelsea Houska, and Chelsea’s dad, Randy. 3. Quiet Kail As a result, Kailyn and company are forbidden from going into detail about Jenelle’s latest gripe. But that’s not stopping them from throwing a little shade on Twitter. 4. #ByeJenelle “How does one get a cease & desist from someone they don’t care to talk about… & if i did, it’s my opinion,” Kailyn tweeted, adding the biting hashtags, “#hijenelle #byejenelle.” 5. A Savage Meme-ing Chelsea Houska even busted out the Confused Girl meme to drive her point home. 6. Houska Burns “I just got a cease and desist from Jenelle and David. So there’s that lolll. #idonteventalkaboutyou,” Chelsea tweeted. A pretty scathing reaction, but the best response might have come from Chelsea’s father, Randy… View Slideshow
