Tough Year: Nick Cannon Overlooked For Richard Pryor Role In Favor Of Mike Epps

First MiMi, now this? Nick Cannon Denied Highly Coveted Richard Pryor Role Mr. Cannon is just losing right and left these days. Apparently Nick wanted the role of Richard Pryor in his upcoming biopic so badly that he changed his appearance and habits to mimic those of the late comedic genius, just to prove to casting directors exactly how serious he was. Unfortunately, none of his tactics worked and Mike Epps was chosen instead …only weeks after he announced his split from Mariah . SMH. Via DailyMail : First his marriage to Mariah Carey fell apart and now, after months of campaigning, Nick Cannon has lost the lead in an upcoming movie about his idol Richard Pryor. The biopic’s director Lee Daniels announced that Mike Epps, 43, and not Nick, 33, will be playing the late comedian in an instagram posted on Saturday. Daniels shared a smiling photo of his stars Epps and Oprah Winfrey – who will portray Pryor’s grandmother Marie Carter – that was certain to send an arrow to Nick’s heart. ‘And we’re off… Get ready y’all for #richardpryor @eppsie @oprah,’ Daniels tweeted. Nick had been very vocal about wanting to play Pryor, who died in 2005 following a heart attack, and even convinced the late stand-up comic’s son that he was right for the part. Nick was in talks to play Richard in the upcoming film, but Richard Jr. also voiced his concern over the America’s Got Talent host’s ability to do the role justice. However, the late comedian’s son had a change of heart after he spoke to Nick on the phone, as PageSix.com reported. ‘I am actually very excited about it now. He changed my mind by how he is delving into it,’ Richard Jr. said. ‘He did the small thing of using his left hand instead of his right hand, he picked up smoking to try and emulate my dad, he’s let his hair grow out. ‘He’s looking into who my dad really was, looking into his childhood, who he was raised by and around, and he is interested in talking to me about who my dad was.’ Wow…we never heard anything about Mike Epps preparing this hard for the role. Damn, homie. We’re pretty sure Nick Cannon is ready for 2014 to be over at this point.

Zelda Williams, Robin Williams’ Daughter, Quits Social Media After Trolls Ridicule Dad

Robin Williams, who passed away earlier this week, touched millions of people in a legendary career that often reminded us how wonderful a person can be. Now, in a reminder of how terrible people can be, his grieving daughter Zelda Williams says she’s quitting social media after being besieged by Internet trolls. While countless fans have taken to the Internet to express their love and respect for Williams, many others sent horrific comments and pictures to Zelda. The second-oldest of Robin Williams’ children , Zelda initially took the fight to the trolls, asking supporters to report them to social media administrators. Soon enough, realizing how fruitless this is, she decided it was better for her to delete her accounts, after posting a farewell apology and message: “I’m sorry. I should’ve risen above,” Williams Tweeted. “Deleting this from my devices for a good long time, maybe forever. Time will tell. Goodbye.” The mourning 25-year-old also suspended her Instagram, writing: “I will be leaving this account for a bit while I heal and decide if I’ll be deleting it or not. In this difficult time, please try to be respectful of the accounts of myself, my family and my friends.” Zelda defended herself for not sharing more photos of her dad – a ridiculous thing people harassed her about – as well as their relationship in general: 21 Memorable Robin Williams Quotes 1. That You May Contribute a Verse What will YOUR verse be? “Mining our accounts for photos of dad, or judging me on the number of them is cruel and unnecessary,” she added, in response to online criticism. “There are a couple throughout, but the real private moments I shared with him were precious, quiet, and believe it or not, not full of photos or ‘selfies.'” “I shared him with a world where everyone was taking their photo with him, but I was lucky enough to spend time with him without cameras too.” “That was more than enough, and I’m grateful for what little time I had. My favorite family photos are framed in my house, not posted on social media.” “They’ll remain there. They would’ve wound up on the news or blogs then, and certainly would now. That’s not what I want for our memories together.” “Thank you for your respect and understanding in this difficult time. Goodbye. Xo” Zelda and her half-brothers Zak, 31, and Cody, 22, Robin’s children from his previous marriages, continue to grieve along with his widow, Susan Schneider . R.I.P. Human Ken Doll Justin Jedlica: I’m Not Trying to Like a Doll!

Justin Jedlica, a.k.a. the Human Ken Doll, says he never set out to look like a doll by undergoing countless plastic surgeries and becoming an Internet … something. So he says in an interview for Oprah Winfrey’s Where Are They Now? Justin Jedlica: Where Are They Now Promo Becoming a living Human Ken Doll was never his intention or goal, but 150 or so cosmetic procedures later, someone called him that and BOOM. “20/20 called me the Human Ken Doll. It was meant to be cute and catchy,” the 33-year-old says, reflecting on his 2012 interview with that program. “I think of it in a comical way. I don’t necessarily think I look like Ken.” Perhaps not. Human Barbie Valeria Lukyanova doesn’t necessarily look like her plastic likeness either. It’s more the idea that they’re … well, plastic. Justin Jedlica also says that the notoriety has been a net positive. “All in all, the Ken Doll phenomenon for me has been a positive thing,” he says, never one to look a gift horse (or plastic surgeon) in the mouth. “It’s something that’s given me a new purpose, and it looks as though it may give me a career. So I can’t really knock it. I’ll be called the Human Ken Doll forever.” There are worse things, he notes, than being compared to the quintessential guy toy, one created as the prototypical male who wants to bang Barbie . “It’s flattering,” Jedlica mused in April. “As a kid, you play with Ken dolls and kind of assume that is what a handsome guy is supposed to look like.” Just the same, he looks at himself as less Ken, more Japanese anime manga. “It’s sort of that over-stylized, cartoonish version of human form [that I like],” he says. Whatever you want to call him, you gotta check out this gallery: Justin Jedlica: The Human Ken Doll 1.
