Lady Gaga Named Most Charitable Star of 2010

To the surprise of no one, the incomparable Lady Gaga has been named the #1 most charitable star of 2010, according to DoSomething (dot) org. The Grammy winner is known for her hit songs, racy photos and outrageous fashion, but also for throwing her weight behind philanthropic projects. A relentless advocate for LGBT rights, Gaga has also helped raise money for Haitian relief, homeless youth, HIV/AIDS and environmental causes. You’ll rarely meat a more charitable star than Lady Gaga! The runner-up, Alicia Keys, has also devoted endless time and energy to the battle against HIV and AIDS, and should be commended for that. Other celebs in the Top 10 include Taylor Swift, Ellen DeGeneres, Nick Jonas, Matt Damon, Leonardo DiCaprio, Oprah Winfrey and Justin Bieber. All of them deserve major props for using their star power for good, and special thanks for setting that kind of example for fans to look up to.

Her passionate relationships, and eventual marriages, with Paramount chief Robert Evans and alpha-male Steve McQueen were the stuff of international headlines. She dried out at Betty Ford. And then she went to Santa Fe but remained active as an advocate for yoga and animal rights.

The Australian actor Hugh Jackman, 42, flew on a zip-line cable from the top sail of the famous landmark down to the stage, but hit the brakes too late, flipped up into a lighting rig and injured his right eye. Hugh Jackman sustained a minor facial injury while making a dramatic entrance to a taping of Oprah Winfrey#39;s talk show at the Sydney Opera House on Tuesday. Wolverine will live to fight, and look handsome, another day. While filming an elaborate entrance onto the set of Oprah Winfrey’s talk show this morning, Hugh Jackman zip-lined over the audience and crashed into a lighting rod suspended above the stage. Shooting was stopped as paramedics tended to the actor, but he quickly emerged, was handed a glass of red wine and joked with the crowd. Watch the stunt below: Hugh Jackman Injury “That was so much fun until the end,” Jackman said. “I came down waving to everyone, looking over Sydney Harbor, saw my dad, the kids and you, went to pull the brake and then boing .” The movie star was one of many famous Australians on hand for the Oprah event Down Under. He was joined by Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban, Russell Crowe and the family of Steve Irwin.
