Newark, N.J., Mayor and U.S. Senate candidate Cory Booker has been Tweeting up a storm with a Portland, Oregon stripper, according to a new report. Note to Oregon: What the heck is going on in the northwest corner of the United States?!? Three months after a kitten with two faces was born in the town of Amity, we now have reports of a two-headed calf also birthed in that state. Heidi Kirschbaum tells KBOI 2News that the unusual animal was born on the family farm in Jamieson. 86-Year-Old Man Killed Wife For “Too Tight Ketchup Lid” Dementia is a serious thing, people… According to NBC News: An 86-year-old Oregon man on trial for the shooting death of his wife carried out the attack after a series of grievances with his family that prosecutors said included the failure of his stepdaughter to wish him a happy birthday and his complaint that his wife put the lid on the ketchup bottle too tightly. Deschutes County prosecutor Mary Anderson told jurors about Lawrence Loeffler’s complaints during opening statements Wednesday at his murder trial. Anderson said Loeffler made the criticisms about his family during questioning by officers about the death of 83-year-old Betty Loeffler. The prosecutors said the killing was a calculated act. Anderson said Lawrence Loeffler took the phone off the hook, retrieved a .25-caliber handgun in the middle of the night from the bedroom where she slept and then “set a trap” to get his wife onto the deck at the back of their house near La Pine, a town of about 1,670 people on the east edge of the Cascade Range in Central Oregon. He shot her once in the neck and then again in the head in what he described to investigators as a “kill shot” to make sure she was dead, Anderson told jurors. While Lawrence Loeffler admitted having planned to kill his wife, defense attorney Jacques DeKalb said his client was not guilty of murder because he was suffering from delusions. “He had no idea what reality was at that time,” DeKalb told jurors. DeKalb said Lawrence Loeffler spent about 10 days in a Bend retirement home after surgery to remove his gall bladder in December, receiving hospice care. He said Loeffler was fixated on the death of his own father and became disoriented, irrational and obsessed with death. On Wednesday, jurors listened to a 911 call Loeffler made after the shooting. During the recording, the dispatcher asks Loeffler about the shooting, and he says his wife was threatening him and he was afraid for his life, so he shot her. Some of the call is nearly impossible to understand as Loeffler sobs and screams repeatedly that he doesn’t know the details of what had taken place in the home. Lawrence Loeffler breathes with the help of an oxygen concentrator, and he began to cry as he sat at the defense table listening to the call. Awwww, for some reason we feel sorry for this guy…SMH. Mother And 3-Year-Old Daughter Simultaneously Diagnosed With Cancer A mother and her young daughter from Oregon are suffering through what has to be one of the most difficult things a family could ever go through as they were both recently diagnosed with different types of Cancer. via NBC News Summar Ruelle was in the best shape of her life when she got devastating news. The 35-year-old mother of two had just lost 60 pounds of stubborn baby weight via diet and rigorous exercise like kickboxing and running. Then in late August of last year, the Beaverton, Ore., mom discovered a mass in her left breast. A mammogram showed nothing but an ultrasound and subsequent tests told a different story: Summar had Stage IV breast cancer which had spread to her lymph nodes, spine, ribs, hips and collar bone. Careening from appointment to appointment, Summar suddenly found herself debating mastectomy, chemo and the removal of her ovaries with a clutch of strangers in white coats. But a week later, all that seemed insignificant to her. The Ruelles’ 3-year-daughter Sapphire, who’d been suffering from unexplained bruises and idiopathic fevers, had been to the doctor for some tests, as well, and the results were unthinkable. Sapphire had leukemia. “I was absolutely devastated,” says Summar, now 36. “It was like my diagnosis became nonexistent at that moment. I wanted to cancel everything – my surgery, my treatments. I wanted to forget all of that. I felt I needed to be there for her.” How horrible for this family to have to go through this! Summar also described some of what she and her daughter have suffered through so far. Shortly after both mom and daughter were diagnosed, “we were literally in surgery at the same time at two different hospitals,” says Summar. “But it was necessary. We didn’t have the luxury of time. I couldn’t waste any more time and she couldn’t have any delays. We had to both go forward.” “At one point, she didn’t think her hair was going to grow back until she was an adult,” says Summar. “She started crying and my mom explained that when she stopped her medicine, it would grow back. But that was tough for her, she asked about the hair a lot.” “Our scenario is so unique,” she says. “I haven’t found any moms in my position. There was another mother with a sick child but then the child passed away. It’s really tough.” This is just heartbreaking. Newlywed Couple Arrested For Having Sex In Public According to Mail Online A newlywed couple was so eager to consummate their marriage on Tuesday that they snuck away from their friends and family at the public park where they wedded and did the deed behind a nearby tree. But their risky romp swiftly ended when a police officer arrived and arrested the bride, Miaya Smith, 31, and her groom, Saint Ramirez Jr., 23. They both pleaded guilty to public indecency Wednesday and now will spend the first 30 days of their marriage behind bars. The officer stated in the arrest report that he was alerted to the tryst by three teenagers, who pointed him to a pine tree about 10 yards from a playground in Gering, Nebraska’s Oregon Trail Park and squeeled, ‘They’re having sex!’ It was around 8 p.m., but the officer noted that it was still daylight and a number of children were playing in the area. Swimmers at a nearby pool were also in plain view of the romp, he stated. The officer spotted the gyrating couple under a pine tree and drove toward them in his patrol car, then parked three feet from them. He noted that the couple ignored his presence and kept going at it. ‘Miaya had her pants off and her buttocks exposed [and she] was moving in an up-and-down motion on Saint,’ the police report reads, noting that Saint’s pants were around his ankles. The officer ordered them to stop having sex twice before they finally separated. As he directed them to get dressed, the couple laughed and told the officer they were having sex because they had just wedded. The bride also revealed that her 5-year-old daughter was nearby with family and friends. She said the girl could be left in the care of a friend while she was hancuffed and taken to jail with her new husband. The couple’s wedding ceremony, which was held at the Oregon Trail Park just before their arrest, was videotaped and posted to Facebook Tuesday evening. It appeared that about two dozen friends and family had attended. The officer had to ask twice… must have been some good peen. They had enough money for a wedding, but not a hotel room? Priorities…priorities.

An incident that took place in Josephine County, Oregon last August – but only just surfaced in the news late last week – has shed light on just how dangerous local budget cuts can be. With her ex-boyfriend attempting to break into her home, an unidentified victim called 911 and was told by the operator: “I don’t have anybody to send out there… can you ask him to go away? Do you know if he’s intoxicated or anything?” The attacker did eventually make his way into the residence. He then choked and raped the woman before fleeing and being arrested hours later for kidnapping and sexual abuse, among other charges. The Sheriff’s Department has blamed the lack of a response to a lack of public funding, as 80 percent of local deputies lost their jobs last year after cuts went into effect. “There isn’t a day goes by that we don’t have another victim,” said Josephine County Sheriff Gil Gilbertson, explaining that the current force can only handle so many emergencies at a time. So what are residents to do? Gilbertson said in a press release after the budget cuts were made that victims of domestic violence should “consider relocating to an area with adequate police services.”

Guess that’s the way the cake crumbles? Yet another bakery is turning down business for faith based reasons, specifically when it comes to gay matrimony-dom. Via Salon reports : Oregon baker Aaron Klein could face legal action after refusing to do business with a same sex couple who sought a cake for their upcoming wedding. As reported by KATU, the woman who filed the complaint says she had previously purchased a wedding cake from Sweet Cakes Bakery for her mother without incident, but was denied service after she told Klein the cake she wanted to buy was for her same-sex wedding. Klein admitted he refused the bride-to-be, telling NBC, “I believe that marriage is a religious institution ordained by God. A man should leave his mother and father and cling to his wife… that to me is the beginning of marriage.” While he won’t bless the union of a gay couple with a too-thick layer of buttercream frosting and overly dry white cake, he is not anti-gay, Klein says. “I’ll sell [gay people] stuff… I’ll talk to them, it’s fine,” he told NBC. This isn’t the first time a bakery has become an unlikely battleground in the gay marriage debate. In 2011, Iowa baker Victoria Childress came under fire for refusing service to a same sex couple at their pre-wedding tasting. Again, Childress cited her religious beliefs and freedom of speech as a justification for the denial. And again, she didn’t see it as discrimination. “I didn’t do the cake because of my convictions for their lifestyle. It is my right as a business owner. It is my right, and it’s not to discriminate against them. It’s not so much to do with them, it’s to do with me and my walk with God and what I will answer [to] him for,” she told KCCI. In 2012, Jack Phillips, the owner of Masterpiece Cakeshop, found that refusing to bake for a gay couple’s wedding was a boon to his business. After the incident, “We had about twice as much business as normal” Phillips told KDVR. “There are people coming in to support us.” While many states have laws banning discrimination based on sexual orientation in employment and housing, the law is less clear when it comes to things like selling cakes. In Oregon, the question for the Attorney General’s civil enforcement officers is whether or not Klein’s religious beliefs defend him against the Oregon Equality Act of 2007, which prohibits discrimination against people based on their sexual orientation and gender identity. Last year, the New Hampshire legislature introduced a bill that would allow businesses to refuse business to gay and lesbian customers seeking wedding-related services through a conscience clause. As reported by the Eagle Tribune, the proposed bill could enshrine discrimination in state law, enabling more than just bakeries to refuse services to their customers: Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no person, including a business owner or employee thereof, shall be required to provide services, accommodations, advantages, facilities, goods, or privileges to an individual if the request is related to the solemnization, celebration, or promotion of a marriage and providing such services, accommodations, advantages, facilities, goods, or privileges would be a violation of the person’s conscience or religious faith. A person’s refusal to provide services, accommodations, advantages, facilities, goods, or privileges in accordance with this section shall not create any civil claim or cause of action or result in any state action to penalize or withhold benefits from such person. C’mon son… Man Throws Dog Into Heated Oven After Being Bitten An Oregon man was arrested earlier this week after he admitted to police that he put his grandmother’s dog into a heated oven after he reached into the dog’s kennel and the dog “nipped” him. via Huffington Pos t Kevin Dean Parrish is a man with admitted anger issues. And those anger issues were the main reason why Parrish, 20, put his grandmother’s dog into a heated oven after it nipped him, he allegedly told deputies in Marion County, Oregon, after they arrested him on charges of aggravated abuse, according to the Statesman Journal. Parrish lives with his grandmother and was in charge of the dog, a 9-pound Chihuahua-pincher mix named “Kudo.” Cops said Parrish told them he was heating up some enchiladas when he reached into the dog’s kennel and it nipped him, according to KBOI-TV. He allegedly told deputies that, when that happened, he grabbed Kudo and decided to put the dog in the heated oven. SMH. How bad could the bite have been from a chihuahua to a grown azz man???
