On The Rocks? Ellen And Portia Allegedly Cancel Animal-Saving Charity Appearance After “Epic” Fight In The Car

Carpet-munchin’ martrimony-dom ain’t easy … Ellen Degeneres And Wife Portia Rumored To Have Had Major Fight Prior To Charity Event Via NYPost Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi didn’t show up at a charity fund-raiser for rescued animals after having a huge fight in the car on the way to Sunday’s event, sources tell Page Six. The power couple was on the way to the Saving SPOT! fund-raiser at Tiato in Santa Monica when they got into an argument and turned around without attending the event, even though they were listed and pictured on the invitation as hosts. Ellen and Portia on Monday insisted to Page Six they had informed the charity they would be unable to make it and their picture should not have been on the invitation. A source told us: “Ellen and Portia were supposed to be at the event at 5 p.m., but at 6:30 p.m., the media was still waiting for their arrival. Reporters were told they were on their way, until the head of the charity informed everyone at the end of the event that they weren’t going to make it due to ‘logistics.’” The source added, “Ellen and Portia were delayed and were in the car on the way, when they had an epic fight. They ended up turning around and not going to the fund-raiser.” Saving SPOT! is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing dogs and providing them with caring owners. Ellen and Portia attended last year’s benefit in Beverly Hills and had been happy to be listed as hosts for this year’s event, we’re told. Ellen — a generous animal-welfare supporter — and Portia said in a statement to Page Six: “We were happy to lend our names as honorary chairs and the organization was always aware that we would be unable to attend. This is the first time we have seen our images attached to the invite. It was not approved and it is misleading.” DeGeneres’ attorney Marty Singer said, “The story is a complete lie. My client told the organizer they never agreed nor planned to attend the event. There was no fight that caused them not to attend.” The charity didn’t respond to requests for comment. Ellen recently slammed divorce rumors and reports of arguments on the season premiere of her talk show. “I had a great summer,” she said in September. “I went on a trip with Portia, my beautiful wife — who I am happily married to, but thank you for your heartfelt concern, tabloids.” Ellen better get right before Portia gets ready to sign them papers. A Lil Positivity: Cincinnati Bengals Re-Sign Previously Cut Defensive Tackle So He Can Pay For His 4-Year-Old’s Cancer Treatment

Good job, Cincinnati! Bengals Re-Sign Cut Player To Provide Him With Check, Medical Insurance For Daughter’s Cancer Treatment Bengals Defensive Tackle Devon Still was cut over the weekend due to poor performance …but the team knew he was distracted due to his 4-year-old daughter recently developing pediatric cancer . The team made the admirable move of adding him to their practice roster to make sure he had access to a steady check and health insurance to cover his little girl’s treatment. Via DailyMail : A player cut from the Cincinnati Bengals at the weekend has been re-signed by the team so that he can pay for his four-year-old daughter’s cancer treatment. Defensive tackle Devon Still, 25, said he understood why he was dropped from the 53-man roster because, since learning in June that his daughter Leah has stage 4 pediatric cancer, he has struggled to concentrate on his game. ‘My whole world turned upside down,’ he told ABC News. But after failing to make the team on Saturday, the Bengals brought him on to the practice squad instead, which means he will still get paid and receive health insurance. ‘They could have washed their hands with me and said they didn’t care about what I was going through off the field,’ Still said. ‘It’s like a blessing in disguise for me.’ The move means that he will receive a weekly salary of $6,300, will have to travel less and get to spend more time with Leah, who is being treated in Philadelphia. The support from the Bengals – which includes allowing Still to miss Sunday’s game in Baltimore – comes after he was out of six games last season for injuries to his elbow and back. Speaking with Bengals.com, he explained: ‘They said if I keep working on my physical… and mentally prepared myself to focus on football then they can move me back up to the roster so I am not all the way out of the loop… ‘Just them sticking by me through this whole time, they understand exactly what I am going through. It is a blessing I am on this organization.’ On ABC, Michael Strahan called it a ‘classy, classy’ move by the team. The proud father, who is engaged, has also shaved his head in support of his daughter, who has lost her hair to her treatment. Isn’t that amazing? Judging by Still’s Instagram, little Leah has a bright and happy little spirit despite her illness. Hopefully she can pull through! Instagram

Alabama Sorority Girl Kicked Out After Sending Racist Snapchat

The Internet exploded this week over an image sent over the popular social media app Snapchat by a sorority member at the University of Alabama. She quickly became the most miserable person in the state not named Nick Saban. The image is allegedly of three college girls taking a selfie and reads “Chi O got NO n—-s!!!!!” followed by a few typical college girl emojis. Check it out: Initially, people posited that the Snapchat may have been doctored with the racist image, but the official Chi Omega Facebook put out a statement saying: “Chi Omega is aware of the image that has been circulating via social media and is in communication with The University of Alabama administration.” Amid rising controversy, the group said, “What was expressed is absolutely reprehensible and completely inconsistent with Chi Omega ‘s values and policies.” “Chi Omega took swift disciplinary action in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures. The woman who took the photo is no longer a member of the chapter.” “Chi Omega embraces women from all walks of life, who come together to form a network of friends with high standards and similar values.” “The Chi Omega chapter at the University of Alabama pledged a diverse group of young women, which included several new members who self-identified as minorities.” The University of Alabama’s school newspaper, The Crimson White, picked up the story and reported Chi Omega had accepted two black women into the sorority. In addition, several others who identify as a racial minority were admitted. Judy Bonner, the University’s president, sent out a school-wide email saying: “We are all extremely disappointed when any student uses language that is disrespectful or offensive to any segment of the UA community.” Disappointment is putting it mildly. 13 Idiots Who Got Fired Because of Social Media 1. @CarlyCrunkBear Carly “@CarlyCrunkBear” McKinney, whose handle says it all really, was a 10th grade math teacher who often posted images like this on Twitter. Her employers were not happy and placed her on administrative leave. Her students thought she was pretty awesome, and protested to get her back. To no avail. She was fired in the end.

No F***s Given: The Washington Redskins Celebrate Native American Cheerleading Uniforms Amid Name Change Controversy

“Eff yo culture” -Dan Snyder Considering the ongoing battle between offended Native Americans and the NFL via the Washington Redskins, one might have picked a more appropriate time to celebrate 50 years of cheerleaders dressed in traditional Indian attire. Yesterday the above photo was posted to the Redskins Cheerleaders Instagram page along with the following caption: Based on owner Dan Snyder’s deeply entrenched belief that those who are offended by the Redskins blantantly racist name are making much ado about nothing, we find it very hard to believe that this photo was the result of “poor judgement”. It’s pretty clear that the organization could care less about offending a few scattered Injuns.

For Discussion: Civil Rights Group Says RHOA Reunion Brawl Promotes Violent Stereotypes Of Black Women

Do you agree? Civil Rights Group Says RHOA Perpetuates Stereotype Porsha dragging struggle bird Kenya across the stage isn’t a good example for little girls, but are they being unfairly called out? According to Rolling Out: When it comes to the hyper dramatic world of reality TV, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” was one of the few shows able to boast with a nimble thin sense of pride that it didn’t display physical violence between its black female cast mates — though it certainly showed them verbally slicing each other down with assassin like fury. But all of that changed this past weekend during the reunion show when Porsha Williams attacked Kenya Moore after being taunted about her failed marriage. Now, a civil rights group is saying enough is enough and demanding that Bravo crack down on the violence on their reality TV shows. According to The Hollywood Reporter, ColorOfChange sent a statement to Bravo’s parent company, NBC Universal, criticizing the channel’s reality TV shows for perpetuating the stereotype that Black women are catty, angry and violent. “After weeks of promoting the “RHOA” reunion altercation, on Sunday, executive producer Andy Cohen finally condemned the violent behavior of cast members — completely ignoring the staged hostile environment that provoked the altercation and the troubling pattern of violent, stereotypical portrayals of Black people across many of Bravo’s Black reality franchises,” reads the statement. “We’ve been in contact with NBC Universal last week verbally and shared concerns in writing — specifically about this “Real Housewives of Atlanta” confrontation that was coming up,” stated Arisha Hatch, campaign director at ColorOfChange. ColorOfChange says that it doesn’t want “RHOA” to be canceled, explaining that the show does have some positive portrayals of black women. But the organization does want Bravo to adopt new anti-violence rules for its shows, just like Vh1 did in 2012 when it adopted a no excessive violence rule for “Basketball Wives” after the series endured a serious backlash over violent outbursts from cast members like Tami Roman and Evelyn Lozada. Should Bravo adopt a new anti-violence policy?

Breaking News: Mike Vick Signs With The New York Jets

Mike Vick is going to be getting that Jets gwap. Mike Vick Signs With The Jets Looks like America has finally forgiven Mike. According to NY Daily News: Mark Sanchez knew this day was coming even as he wished in a strange sort of way that it wouldn’t. There was no shock when the Jets officially released him on Friday, no disbelief when the organization ended a strange five-year relationship with their erstwhile Golden Boy.  The Jets also officially signed Michael Vick, the team announced via Twitter. The Jets moved on many months ago, filed Sanchez neatly away into the past as they crossed their fingers that the new kid taking his place will be the real deal. Sanchez had his shot. They had no use for him anymore. The NFL is giving Mike another chance to be great. Let’s hope he can do just that.
