Alex Rodriguez: Negotiating Settlement, Suspension With MLB?

Alex Rodriguez is negotiating a settlement and suspension with Major League Baseball stemming from his use of performance enhancing drugs, reports say. Last week, it was rumored that A-Rod faced a lifetime ban if he fought the MLB and lost. Now, it looks like he’s quietly working on a different strategy. A source familiar with discussions told ESPN that A-Rod’s representatives are now negotiating a possible settlement that could result in a long suspension. MLB officials have told his attorneys that they are willing to ban him for life, although sources said it is not clear if commissioner Bud Selig is prepared to. Some within the organization reportedly say they would rather force A-Rod to defend himself than agree to a suspension that allows him play while he appeals. He has been presented “volumes” of documents establishing a connection between the Yankees third baseman and Biogenesis clinic founder Tony Bosch. Sources said MLB was also given evidence supporting accusations that Alex Rodriguez attempted to coerce at least one witness in MLB’s investigation. That accusation is the basis of MLB’s argument that Rodriguez may be punished for his conduct, in addition to multiple violations of the game’s drug policy. MLB apparently hopes he will accept lengthy suspension that keeps him off the field through at least 2014, without the time and trouble of an arbitration hearing. Whether he agrees to it or not, MLB is expected to issue suspensions for Rodriguez and other players connected to Bosch within the next few days. Most players are expected to accept 50-game suspensions – the standard punishment for a first performance enhancing drug violation – without appeal. Ryan Braun has already settled with the league.

Aaron Hernandez "Duped" Patriots if Allegations Are True, Bob Kraft Says

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft has broken his silence on Aaron Hernandez, sitting down with a number of media outlets to discuss the situation. The 72-year-old, who has owned the team since 1994, recounted his initial shock when one of his stars became embroiled in a homicide investigation . Hernandez has since been charged with the premeditated murder of Odin Lloyd . “If this stuff is true, then I’ve been duped and our whole organization has been duped,” Kraft told ESPN of the player he drafted out of Florida in 2010. “Here we have a guy who, man, it looks like had the world by the tail. He said to me he wanted to be a role model to the Hispanic community,” Kraft said. “He was kind enough to give a check for my beloved wife’s memorial charity. He said we’d given him a second chance and I believed him.” “He was the most likeable young man. This is all sad to me. Very sad.” While Kraft had previously remained silent, the actions of his organization spoke volumes. Less than two hours after his arrest, the Patriots released him. Two days later, the team announced that fans would have an opportunity to exchange Hernandez jerseys for gear with the name of another player. Kraft said this is necessary “if any member of the New England Patriots organization is close enough to a murder investigation to actually get arrested.” “Whether it be for obstruction of justice or the crime itself – it is too close to an unthinkable act for that person to be part of this organization going forward.” The Patriots drafted Hernandez out of the University of Florida in 2010 and signed him to a five-year, $40 million contract extension before the 2012 season. In the days since Hernandez was taken into custody, a troubling history of brushes with the law – including, potentially, two more murders – has been revealed. Kraft explained that Hernandez answered the Patriots’ concerns about his character in 2010, writing him a letter saying they had “absolutely nothing to worry about.” According to Kraft, the team saw no indications of trouble with Hernandez. “I only know what goes on inside this building. We don’t put private eyes on people,” Kraft said. “When he was in this building, I was never exposed to anything where he was not positive.” “He was always polite, respectful.”

Sheena Monnin Loses Appeal, Must Pay Miss USA Pageant $5 Million

Tough break today for former Miss Pennsylvania Sheena Monnin in court. She lost an appeal and owes Miss USA $5 million for defaming the organization. Monnin resigned as Miss Pennsylvania last year, saying Miss USA contest was rigged – claims that did not hold water in the eyes of a judge. She claimed another contestant learned the top five finishers hours before the show, then turned in her crown when those contestants were named during the show. She posted a series of messages on Facebook and spoke publicly about her claims. Doanld Trump’s Miss Universe Organization sued her immediately. An arbitrator ruled against her in December, and determined that her allegations cost the pageant a $5 million fee from a potential 2013 sponsor. U.S. District Court Judge J. Paul Oetken upheld the decision. Monnin appealed, claiming the arbitrator overstepped his authority, his decision disregarded law, and she didn’t know the hearing was taking place. The judge disagreed on each of those grounds. Sheena Monnin , of Cranberry, Pa., said in a Facebook post Thursday evening that she is glad the truth is out there, regardless of the outcome. “This is not about me being a ‘sore loser’ or wanting my ’15 minutes of fame'” she wrote, sticking by a story that has been widely disregarded. “This is about the MUO’s admission under oath that they manipulate the judges’ results to suit their own ends. This is not what they advertise to the public.” Miss USA organizers think Monnin resigned because she disagreed with a decision to allow transgender contestants, then sought to trash the pageant. They made public text from an email Monnin sent citing the decision to allow natural-born males into the competition as the reason for her resignation. A transgender contestant was initially denied entry to the Miss Universe Canada pageant because she was born male, but Trump overruled that decision. Olivia Culpo of Rhode Island won the Miss USA pageant that year. Monnin wrote on Facebook page that her legal fees amount to more than $50,000 and she needed financial support, including a link for donations. Don’t hold your breath on that note, Sheena. Trump’s lawyer said he applauded the judge’s decision but was surprised Monnin stood by her story. “I’m shocked to see that she has yet to learn her lesson. I thought she would be smarter the second time around,” attorney Michael Cohen said.

Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader “Skull Fucked” at Sinical Ball of the Day

I was sent this video of Dallas Cowboy cheerleader Colleen Meghan at some Fetish ball in Houston on April 13, up on stage screaming and getting spanked by some dominatrix fetish motherfucker in some alen looking fetish costume. The video stars off tame, with some spanking as she humps the air, and ends with a little face fuck after she does a few sit ups to get warmed up. It’s pretty clear that she’s in on this situation with “Lexa Lusty” the fetish star and I don’t think fetish is that big of a deal, and she probably won’t lose her job over it, I mean if she is even a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, something I am sure has a contract stipulations that you can’t suck dick in movies, even if you’re destined to be a pornstar, while working for the organization. I just think it’s funny, although creepy as fuck. I mean she’s just trying to have a good time, and here I am putting that good time out there like it’s a bad thing, even though more girls need to be half naked and spanked at parties while I watch.

Marijuana Tax Under Consideration by Cash-Starved States

Talk about a potential buzzkill… With pot now legal in Colorado and Washington, legislators in those states are considering taxing the drug in order to boost the local economy. “I’ve seen some estimates in the high tens of millions, as much as $100 million for [Colorado],” said Rep. Jared Polis (D-Colo.), who’s pushing a federal legalization in Congress. Such an influx could make a major difference, Polis tells Politico , including a “substantial dent in needed school improvements, particularly in poorer districts.” For years, those on the side of this imposition have been yearning for marijuana to be treated like cigarettes: make it legal, make it safe and get it out of the hands of dope dealers… and then tax the heck out of it. Dale Gieringer – director of California National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws – approximates that legalizing pot would bring in at least $1.2 billion to his state alone. What do you think of government dollars for dope? Should marijuana be taxed?   Yes, sounds cool man! No, what a bummer dude! View Poll »

GLAAD Slams Duggar Family for Associating with "Dangerous Hate Group"

Josh Duggar is making headlines. But, for once, it’s not for because he’s expecting another child . The reality star and committed pro-creator is considering an executive position with the Family Research Council, a move that is not sitting well with GLADD President Herndon Graddick. “Family Research Council is without a doubt one of our country’s most dangerous hate groups, led by the most anti-gay man in America, Tony Perkins,” Graddick told E! News Friday. The FRC lists its agenda as the advancement of “faith, family and freedom in public policy and the culture from a Christian worldview.” It supports marriage as only between “one man and one woman.” “Not only has Perkins compared gay people to terrorists, he also supports the ludicrous idea that gay youth should be subjected to harmful therapies that aim to make them straight,” Graddick said. “Unlike the Duggars, Perkins isn’t about family values, he’s about anti-gay hate.” Josh is the eldest son of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar. He took part in ProLifeCon, the organization’s pro-life social-media forum, in January. This may be one feud that not even the Duggars Tater Tot Casserole recipe can mend.

Honey Boo Boo Girl Scout Cookies Facebook Campaign: Shut Down!

Like countless other young Americans, Honey Boo Boo has been selling Girl Scout cookies. To her hundreds of thousands of fans online, and the chagrin of the Girl Scouts of the USA. Honey Boo Boo posted the above ad on her Facebook page, which has 701,000 likes. She also drew the organization’s ire by posting photos of stacks of boxes she sold.  HBB is not selling the cookies for herself, it’s worth nothing, but for a friend. Nevertheless, to say didn’t go down well with the organization is an understatement. A rep for GSUSA in Georgia, where young Alana Thompson lives, tells TMZ they contacted her site’s administrator and explained that this is off-limits . No good deed – or massive cookie sale – goes unpunished, as they say. Using Facebook and the like “defeats the whole purpose of selling the cookies,” such as teaching the girls about setting goals, working with people, etc. The sales she’s already WILL count, but if HBB wants to help her BFF from now on, she’s gonna have to set up shop outside Walmart like everyone else. That or go door to door. Maybe June Shannon or Poodle can drive? NOTE : It’s unclear what her biggest seller was among the GSC brands. Thin Mints are the best, right? What are your favorite types of Girl Scout Cookies? NOTE #2 : They’re no GSC, but this chocolate chip cookie recipe is dope. Seriously. It’ll hold its own with Samoas and the like any day of the week.
