Cardi B Joins James Corden For “Carpool Karaoke:” Watch

While Cardi B continues her assault on hip hop, pop Kulture (see what I did there?) and the world in general, she recently took a spin in the infamous Carpool Karaoke. Check it out! Via | HotNewHipHop Cardi stuck to her own hits. The  Migos  stopped by  Carpool Karaoke  with James Corden just a few weeks back, and now  Cardi B  has her own time to shine in the light. After her former lover  Offset  assisted his group in singing a range of songs, Cardi took to the show and made it all about her. Instead of following the usual format of singing over other artists’ hits, Cardi performed a medley of her own songs. The car ride begins with Cardi rapping to “Bodak Yellow.” READ MORE

Taylor Swift to Set Digital Sales Record

We still may not be sure about whom Taylor Swift is singing in her latest single, ” We Are Never Getting Back Together ,” but we can be certain of one thing: It’s already a huge hit. The track is on pace for 600,000 downloads in its opening week, meaning it will challenge Flo Rida (and “Right Round”) for the largest debut of all-time and shatter the female record-holder: Lady Gaga with “Born This Way.” The song also broke in to the Billboard Hot 100 at number-72, but its initial seven days of sales, combined with its overwhelming airplay, make it a strong favorite to hold the top spot later this month. SoundScan will post final scales figures tomorrow, but we don’t need to wait until then to declare: the music world belongs to Taylor Swift. All other artists are just living in it.

Quote Of The Day: Miguel Warns Other Artists “Don’t Eff’ing Come Over Here ’Cause I Will Eff You Up”

My, my, such hostility… Miguel Warns Other Artists About Biting His Style Miguel has a stern warning for the competition: Stay out of his lane or he will “f**k you up.” The R&B crooner is taking a tough stance when it comes to his music and those who try to imitate his style. The 25-year-old is currently in the studio working on the follow-up to his 2010 debut All I Want Is You. “It’s definitely a progressive album,” he told Mina SayWhat on Philadelphia radio station Power 99. “I would describe it as being progressive in the sense that I’m taking a lot of my more alternative influences and incorporating them.” Over the past few months he released his trilogy of Art Dealer Chic micro EPs to give fans a taste of his new direction. “‘Adorn’ is a great segway because it’s very soulful, but still has some alternative elements,” he said. “I think that’s what makes it really cool. It’s a very honest representation of where I’m at, but it’s just a segway.” But those who attempt to adopt his sound should take caution. “I’m just gonna say, ‘Don’t nobody out there step into my fu**in’ lane. Stay where you’re at,’” he warned. “I’m a competitive person and what I’m saying is I’m solidifying my lane and don’t fu**ing come over here ’cause I will f**k you up.” He explained himself further. “I want everyone to express themselves in a unique way. I’m saying that in an aggressive way ’cause that’s how I really feel, but what I mean by that is find your own thing to do and create your own lane.” Don’t expect many features on his sophomore album. “I’m a man who wants to stand on his own two feet. I don’t need a fu**ing co-sign. I don’t need that shit,” he said, while adding, “I can’t tell you who I may feature on this next album, but I guarantee you that it will be unexpected.” While we love Miguel and his music, we don’t think he’s exactly the most intimidating person in the world… Image via WENN Via Rap-Up

Matty B Does Britney Spears

Matty B is eight years old. Eight. Kid likes to rap/sing covers of other artists’ material, and is actually petty decent considering the number of years he’s been alive don’t exceed one digit. His latest track, a rendition of Britney Spears’ hit ” Hold It Against Me ,” serves as a homage to the pop princess and a message to Matty B’s own haters. Defiantly posting some negative comments his efforts have received online, the youngster vows, while frolicking in some freshly-fallen snow, to sing on … Matty B Does Britney Spears Don’t hold it against Matty that he’s eight years old and probably makes more money than you. Hopefully Kanye agrees and will let him be #1 someday.
