Source: Judy Eddy/WENN.com / WENN TV icon Luke Perry , best known for his roles on Beverly Hills, 90210 and recurring role on The CW’s Riverdale has died due to complications from suffering a massive stroke last week, TMZ reports. Perry was 52. He passed away Monday morning at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank, California. He was surrounded by his children, his fiancé, ex-wife, mother, stepfather, brother, sister and other close family and friends. He suffered the stroke last Wednesday in his California home. The prolific actor was sedated after the stroke, hopefully to give his brain a fighting chance but the damage was too much for his brain to recover. He was Archie’s dad on Riverdale and became one of the ’90s biggest hearthrobs as Dylan McKay. His rep told TMZ, “The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world.”
Former Rep. Corrine Brown of Florida was sentenced to 5 years in prison after taking hundreds of thousands of dollars from donors who thought their money was going to charity. NPR reports, Brown was sentenced on December 4, 2017, by a federal judge. She was voted out of office in 2016 on 18 counts of conspiracy and fraud. Judge Timothy Corrigan, the judge presiding over the case found the entire situation a tragedy. “It is a sad day for everyone. It is a sad day for this community,” expressed Judge Corrigan. “I was impressed with all the outpouring of support for you and it’s a tribute to you and the work you’ve done…and that makes it more tragic.” In 1992 Brown became one of three African-American lawmakers from Florida to be elected to Congress since the Reconstruction era. She served 12 terms in which she brought change to her state until losing re-election last year due to her indictment. Her chief of staff Elias “Ronnie” Simmons worked with Brown to collect donations for the charity called One Door for Education that provides money to educate children in poverty. $800,000 was raised for this charity, but only $1,200 went to the charity. Earlier this week, we reported that Amber Portwood’s boyfriend, Andrew Glennon, has been accused of stalking and harassing an ex , with the situation eventually becoming so dire that the woman was granted a three-year restraining order. But it turns out that wasn’t the whole story. We now know that two of Andrew’s recent exes have requested and been granted legal protection from the reality TV producer. The second restraining order request was filed in 2015 after a relationship of just three months. The ex in that case said she feared for her safety and asked that her family be granted protection from Glennon, as well. “He has threatened me verbally and I believe yesterday he sent an anonymous letter to my boss and coworkers to deliberately trying to smear me,” she wrote in court documents. “He has contacted my family and my friends in order to try and find out about me. I am scared for my safety and I am scared of him.” Frightening stuff. Fans are understandably concerned, as Amber just rid herself of one low-life with a history of troubling legal problems when she dumped Matt Baier back in June. Now, it seems she’s found herself in another dangerous relationship. Perhaps in response to the outpouring of concern, Glennon is now addressing the charges against him. “I have three sisters and would never consider stalking nor harassing any women,” he said in a statement issued to Radar Online. “In hindsight, I should have contested the first [restraining order filed against me].” As for the second restraining order, Glennon rather astonishingly admits to sending the anonymous letter, but maintains he did so out of a sense of duty to our nation’s children. No, seriously: “I felt it necessary, her being a teacher, to let her employers know what type of person they have working for them,” he told Radar. “She was one of the most poisonous relationships I’ve ever had.” Despite the “poisonous” nature of the relationship, Glennon says he still speaks to the second ex on a regular basis. Rob Kardashian Moves In With Blac Chyna And Baby Dream Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna’s rocky union may have finally reached peaceful waters now that their baby girl Dream is finally here. As an insider shared with People Magazine : “Rob is super hands on with Dream. She’s changed his life. She makes him want to be better. And he’s spending a lot more time with his family.” And apparently this outpouring of love and shift in his mindset has brought him much closer to his fiancee Chyna. The duo had chosen to live separately prior to Dream’s birth last month, but wanting to spend as much time as possible with his baby girl has prompted Rob to move into Chyna’s house…and finally helped them to find some peace and harmony. “Rob wants to live with Chyna and spend every day with Dream. He is making a big effort to get along with Chyna. She seems very happy with him. They are getting along great and enjoying parenting together. Rob is so much happier now. He is obsessed with his baby girl!” Awww, how sweet! This might just be what Rob needs to really pull himself together.
Hayes Grier has been hospitalized. The Internet sensation, who is one of the most popular stars in Vine, got into a serious accident yesterday while riding his dirt bike. News of the crash and of Grier’s tenuous condition was first made public in a Tweet by his brother, Nash Grier. “Just got a call on set that said Hayes was in a crash. He’s now in the hospital,” Nash tweeted to his 5.63 million followers, adding the hashtag “#PrayForHayes” to his message. It didn’t take long for this hashtag to go viral. In follow-up a series of follow-up Tweets, Nash kept fans as informed as he could be, writing of his sibling: “He can move & talk (thank god) but he’s coughed up a lot of blood. That’s all I know. Praying he has a quick recovery. “Damn I hate hearing s–t like that on the phone, scared me to death.” About an hour later, Nash actually shared a screenshot of a text exchange (which he captioned with “Phew”) with more specific news regarding Hayes’ health. It’s unclear who was on the other side of the exchange, but it appears to be someone at the hospital and it reads as follows: “Your brother is pretty busted up right now. Luckily no major stuff. All scans came back negative for any internal bleeding. “He does have a concussion, fractured top two ribs and bruised lung on one side. He is in a lot of pain.” Hayes Grier is only 16 years old. But he sky-rocketed to Internet fame due to his Vine and YouTube videos. At he moment, Grier has 3.53 million Twitter followers… 5.3 million Instagram followers… 4.4 million Vine followers … and 848,000 YouTube subscribers. He competed on Season 21 of Dancing with the Stars . He was the second-youngest contestant to ever appear on the show and he teamed with Emma Slater to reach Week 7. A few hours after news of Grier’s crash went public, a rep for the famous teenager released the following statement to Us Weekly: Earlier today, Hayes Grier was involved in a dirt bike accident and immediately transported to a local hospital. Hayes suffered a concussion, broken rib, bruised lung, and multiple skin lacerations. Thankfully, he is OK and currently resting and recovering in the hospital surrounded by his family, where he will remain for the next few days. Back in October, we reported that Val Kilmer had been hospitalized after undergoing an emergency procedure that may have saved his life. Reps for Kilmer assured fans that there’s no cause for concern, but sources close to the acclaimed actor have maintained that his religious beliefs nearly cost him his life. Several insiders claim Kilmer nearly died after refusing to seek treatment for a “grapefruit-sized” tumor in his throat. As a practicing Christian Scientist, he reportedly believed that the ailment could be treated with prayer, meditation and positive thinking. However, it seems that while the emergency surgery may have saved Kilmer’s life, it also left the actor unable to speak and permanently dependent upon a breathing apparatus. According to Radar Online, Kilmer was spotted with a tracheostomy tube while shopping at Trader Joe’s in Los Angeles today. The device is the result of a tracheotomy procedure, which usually leaves the patient unable to speak on his own. Kilmer may be able to express himself verbally using an electronic speech-synthesis device. Reps actor are still refusing to respond to questions about his health, but it now seems that their initial claims that his tumor was benign were inaccurate. Kilmer himself has only addressed the issue once, writing on Facebook that the rumors that he is “unwell” are “totally untrue.”
The father of country music superstar Keith Urban has lost his battle with cancer. This sad news was relayed to fans via a message on the official Keith Urban website. Referencing his wife, Nicole Kidman, Urban wrote the following to readers: “I’ve been deeply touched by the outpouring of love and support that Nic and I, and our family, have received since my dad’s passing on Saturday night.” The American Idol judge added that his dad is “finally at peace” after such a long battle with such a debilitating disease. Urban went on to credit his father’s affection for Don Williams and other country artists as a major reason for why he went into this industry. You don’t exactly see many Australian country music singers, after all. “My dad’s love of country music and America set me on my life’s journey, and shaped so much of who I am today,” he wrote. “Thank you to everyone who has kept us all in your thoughts and prayers.” Bob Urban was placed in hospice care about a week prior to his passing. If you needed further proof that’s a pretty effed-world we live in, look no further: According to TMZ the Love Ranch brothel where Lamar Odom nearly died from an overdose last week is experiencing a major surge in business thanks to all the free press. The weirdest part? Customers are shelling out big bucks to see the room where Odom was found unconscious and covered in blood. Guests who already staying and spending money at the Ranch can drop an extra $500 for a glance at the VIP suite where Odom nearly lost his life. Even weirder, many Love Ranch are paying top dollar to sleep in the room and there’s a one-month waiting to list to stay in “the Lamar suite. Prior to Odom’s near death experience, the Ranch attracted about 20 men today. Owner Dennis Hof says that in the past week that number has more than tripled. Many have been critical about the way Hof seems to milking the incident for free publicity. Hof bragged about telling the Kardashians to “go to hell” during an appearance on Nancy Grace’s talk show. In response, reps for Khloe politely asked Hof to shut the hell up , but it looks like the brothel owner and former star of the HBO reality series Cat House, plans to go right on cashing in on this tragedy. She remained there all of last week and is expected to continue to support Odom now that he’s been transported to Los Angeles . “The past week has been incredibly difficult,” Khloe wrote this morning on her official website. “I am so thankful to family, friends, and fans, who have sent nothing but prayers and well wishes to Lamar. I also want to take a moment to thank everyone at Sunrise Hospital, including the amazing doctors and nurses for their kindness and diligent work. “Under their amazing care, incredible strides have been made.” Just a few days ago, Odom’s odds of survival were placed at a mere 50%. He may still need a kidney transplant and there’s a long road to recovery ahead. But at least there are reasons to be cautiously optimistic. “You can never be prepared for an experience like this, but without the outpouring of love and endless prayers that Lamar has received and the strength I was given from my loved ones, it would have been difficult to endure,” Khloe added, concluding: “Thank you for your continued support. God is great!!!” These words mark the first time the 31-year old reality star has spoken in public since Odom was found unconscious on October 13 inside a VIP suite at the Love Ranch South brothel in Pahrump, Nevada.
