Steve Carell’s Final Episode Of ‘The Office’ Is ‘Emotional, Funny’

‘It sends Michael off in a good way,’ director Paul Feig reveals to MTV News of bumbling Dunder Mifflin boss. By Kara Warner Steve Carell Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images Ever since Steve Carell announced his plans to leave “The Office,” his fans and fellow castmates have been lamenting the impending departure of Michael Scott, the bumbling Scranton, Pennsylvania-based boss Carell has made famous over the course of seven seasons. But no matter how loud the protests or how many tears are shed, the end has come. According to frequent director Paul Feig, Carell and Co. filmed Michael Scott’s last episode of “The Office” last week. “It’s exactly what you would want it to be,” Feig told MTV News at the PaleyFest reunion event for his cult-favorite TV show, “Freaks and Geeks.” “It’s emotional, but it’s funny. It’s just a really nice mix and it sends Michael off in a good way. I’m thrilled with it,” he added. “I think fans of the show will be really happy with it.” Speaking to that emotional aspect, Feig went on to say that there were plenty of tears shed on set. “Half the time we were bawling and half the time we were trying not to laugh and ruin takes,” he admitted, adding that the presence of Will Ferrell helped keep things from getting too weepy. “The hilarity index is up even higher,” he said. And judging from the reports we’ve received from castmembers, Ferrell us up to his old comedic tricks for his four-episode

Jennifer Lopez Features Lil Wayne On Next Single

‘I’m Into You’ will be next single off Love? album, which still has no release date. By Gil Kaufman Lil Wayne Photo: Kevin Winter/Getty Images Steven Tyler isn’t the only “American Idol” judge trying to make the most of a double dose of weekly prime-time exposure on TV’s biggest reality show. While Aerosmith’s back catalog has gotten a boost thanks to its prominent placement on “Idol,” fellow judge Jennifer Lopez has parlayed her spot on the program into the highest-charting single of her career with “On the Floor.” And over the weekend, she revealed that she’s got a strong follow-up single ready to go. Speaking with fans during an online chat , on Saturday, Lopez said she’s finished a song called “I’m Into You” with Lil Wayne that will be the next single from her still unscheduled Love? album. “My next single I believe will be a song called ‘I’m Into You’ and it’s going to feature Lil Wayne, so look out for that,” she said. Asked to name her favorite rapper, Lopez said it used to be Nas, but that these days she’s really feeling Weezy, whom she called a “very unique” and “fresh” voice. “Plus he’s on my single!” And though J.Lo did not have a specific release date to announce for the album, she said it would “probably” come out in late May, once two or three singles have hit radio. That would be perfect timing, of course, since “Idol” wraps in mid-May. Lopez, who has toured sporadically during her music career, also said that she planned to launch a world tour in support of Love? . Over the course of the two years she worked on the new album, Lopez said she also recorded Spanish-language versions of some of the songs, and plans to release a full-length Spanish album next. Asked what the hardest part of being a judge on “Idol” this season has been so far, Lopez said, “I didn’t expect that it would be such an emotional roller coaster for me.” She also admitted that saying goodbye to the departing contestants has been very difficult for her. Music Exec. Pens Open Letter to Protest Beiber, Eminem Grammy Snub

*Ad man, brand manager and occasional consigliere to many of hip-hop’s most powerful stars, marketing mogul Steve Stoute took out a full page ad in Sunday’s New York Times Style Section blasting the Grammy Awards, its parent organizational, The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS), and its president, Neil Portnow, for what he feels is both increasing irrelevance and possible malfeasance. “Over the course of my 20-year history as an executive in the music business and as the owner of a firm that specializes in in-culture advertising, I have come to the conclusion that the Grammy Awards have clearly lost touch with contemporary popular culture,” he wrote in the ad, which took the form of an open letter. “The awards show has become a series of hypocrisies and contradictions, leaving me to question why any contemporary popular artist would even participate.” In particular, Stoute (pictured) focused on the relatively recent snubs of Eminem, Kayne West, and Justin Bieber, all musicians he believes have been unfairly beaten for awards by inferior artistic and commercial acts. “We must acknowledge the massive cultural impact of Eminem and Kanye West and how their music is shaping, influencing and defining the voice of a generation,” Stoute wrote of the two hip-hop superstars, adding of Bieber, “How is it that Justin Bieber, an artist that defines what it means to be a modern artist, did not win Best New Artist?” Read MORE of this story at MTV News .

Snooki And Sway Team Up For MTV News’ Grammy Red-Carpet Live Stream!

Hit up MTVNews.com Sunday, February 13, at 6 p.m. ET to see the ‘Jersey Shore’ starlet chatting live with your favorite artists. By Gil Kaufman Snooki Photo: MTV News Over the past year, “Jersey Shore” breakout star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi has gotten used to walking the red carpet. The iconic member of the “Shore” cast will turn the tables this Sunday, though, when she joins MTV’s own Sway Calloway at the 53rd annual Grammy Awards . Instead of working it down the carpet, for the second year in a row, Snooki will be the one asking stars questions. And for the first time, she and co-host Sway will anchor MTV’s red-carpet live stream from the event. The pair will be seen live on MTV.com for two hours (6-8 p.m. ET), talking to all the night’s big attendees, presenters and performers. What will she say? We have no idea, but you can bet it won’t be the same boring stuff you’re hearing on all the other entertainment shows! “I did do the interviews with the Grammys last year, and I really had no idea what was going on,” Snooki admitted to MTV News. “This was all new to me. So now, being in it for a year, I know what to expect. And I’m gonna study a little more [about] what people are up for and who they are. I’m not gonna be like, ‘Yo, Kings of Leon, who are you?’ That’s what I did last year! So I’m definitely gonna study up more.” Things were a little hectic for Snickers last year , as she admittedly didn’t know many of the night’s stars. (Sorry again, Alice in Chains!) But luckily, plenty of them were well-acquainted with her. Over the course of the evening, she compared pouf-hairstyle secrets with Miley Cyrus, yukked it up with metal icons Judas Priest, got in the middle of an LMFAO sandwich, strained her neck to look up at a towering Katy Perry, made goo-goo eyes at Justin Bieber and nearly got bowled over when Fergie bum-rushed past her Black Eyed Peas cohorts to get a pic with her favorite reality star. What will Snooki do this year on the carpet? It’s anybody’s guess, but you know it will be interesting to watch. Don’t miss Snooki and Sway on MTV News’ Grammy red-carpet live stream, Sunday at 6 p.m. ET on MTV.com. And stick with us all night for coverage of the red carpet, the show, the afterparties and beyond! Related Videos Snooki Is Hitting The Grammy Red Carpet Again!

Ryan Seacrest, Josh Duhamel In Talks For ‘New Year’s Eve’ Movie

Ice Cube has also been named as possible addition to all-star cast for Garry Marshall flick. By Jocelyn Vena Ryan Seacrest Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images Who would have thought that Halle Berry, Jessica Biel, Jon Bon Jovi, Abigail Breslin, Robert De Niro, Zac Efron, Ashton Kutcher, Seth Meyers, Lea Michele, Sarah Jessica Parker, Michelle Pfeiffer, Til Schweiger, Sienna Miller, Hilary Swank and Sofia Vergara wouldn’t be enough Hollywood star power for one movie? Well, it seems that the brains behind the forthcoming movie “New Year’s Eve” are looking to add even more high-profile talent to the lineup. “American Idol” host Ryan Seacrest, Ice Cube and Josh Duhamel all are in talks to appear in the star-studded flick, which follows New Yorkers over the course of, you guessed it, New Year’s Eve, according to The Hollywood Reporter . Seacrest would play himself in the movie, Duhamel would play a man looking to get to New York to reconnect with a mystery woman he met the year before, and Cube would play an NYPD cop who works with Swank, who will play the director of the Times Square New Year’s Eve party. The flick is set to begin filming next month. Earlier this week, “SNL” funnyman Seth Meyers and rocker Jon Bon Jovi signed on for roles in the Garry Marshall film, the sequel to 2010’s “Valentine’s Day.” And at the Golden Globe Awards earlier this month, Efron confirmed his role in the movie to MTV News. “I’m starting a movie in a couple of weeks called ‘New Year’s Eve,’ with Garry Marshall. It’s got a great cast,” he shared. “My scenes are with Michelle Pfeiffer. Yeah, not a bad co-star.” Last year, Marshall spoke to MTV News about the film, which was then in its early stages, and had one other megastar in mind for the film. “Already they’re mentioning Justin Bieber ,” he said. “Perhaps I’d better see who he is, so when he arrives on set, possibly [we can talk]. So we’ll see.” Check out everything we’ve got on “New Year’s Eve.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com .
