Joan Cusack Bangs her Babysitter on Shameless

The new Showtime series Shameless , whose sneak preview after the season finale of Dexter has already given us the nude debut of operatic eyeful Emily Rossum , is going to be pouring on the sex, Showtime style, over the course of the season. Following the tradition of movies like Weekend with the Babysitter , The Babysitter , and The Babysitters (featuring Sam Waterston ‘s daughter Katherine ‘s luscious melons), Shameless is going to show feature Joan Cusack in a sex scene with her own real-life babysitter, William H. Macy . “I’ve known Joan for a long, long time,” recalls Macy. “I actually babysat Joan Cusack. I started acting in Chicago, and I knew her dad. Joan’s mom still talks about a set of bookshelves that I built that are right inside their front door.” Now Mrs. Cusack is going to be talking about another kind of wood Macy gave her daughter.

Reese Witherspoon’s Love Life: From Ryan Phillippe To Jim Toth

As the actress announces her engagement, we review her dating history. By Jocelyn Vena Ryan Phillippe and Reese Witherspoon in October 2006 Photo: Evan Agostini/ Getty Images Reese Witherspoon joined an ever-growing list of engaged celebrities Tuesday when she announced that she and boyfriend Jim Toth plan to tie the knot . Over the course of her public life, Witherspoon has been married once before (to Ryan Phillippe) and even dated Jake Gyllenhaal for quite a bit of time. With congratulatory wishes to Witherspoon and Toth, we take a look back at Witherspoon’s dating history. ( Check out photos of Reese with her past loves. ) Before meeting and marrying Phillippe, Witherspoon had been romantically linked to Jason London, Stephen Dorff, Chris O’Donnell and Mark Wahlberg, but it was Phillippe who Witherspoon settled on for about a decade. As the story goes, Phillippe arrived to Witherspoon’s 21st birthday party in 1997, where love bloomed. The “Cruel Intentions” co-stars got engaged in December 1998 and married in June 1999. The pair quickly started a family with the arrival of their daughter, Ava, in September of that year. Four years later, they welcomed their son, Deacon, in October 2003. Before they split in 2006, Witherspoon opened up about married life, noting that it wasn’t always easy. Revealing that she and Phillippe went to couple’s therapy, she said, “We’ve done that in the past, and it’s always struck me as odd that people grabbed onto that story and made it sound so negative. In what capacity is working on yourself or your marriage a bad thing? What marriage isn’t a journey? If you don’t have money to go to therapy, there’s always church. You can get together with groups and friends and talk about things with other couples.” After divorcing Phillippe in 2007, Witherspoon was spotted with her “Rendition” co-star Jake Gyllenhaal. The two tried to keep their relationship quiet, but after being photographed together multiple times, it was Phillippe who let the cat out of the bag. “It’s bizarre,” he told USA Today in March 2008 of seeing photos of the couple. Witherspoon herself eventually confirmed the relationship to Vogue in October of that year, calling Gyllenhaal “very supportive.” “Suffice it to say, I’m very happy in life, and I’m very lucky to have a lot of really supportive people around me who care very much for me, and, you know, that’s all you can hope for in life,” she said. “I am very blessed in that way.” But the couple was broken up by November 2009. After several months alone, Witherspoon began dating talent agent Jim Toth in February 2010. The pair’s announcement of their engagement Tuesday comes after nearly a year of dating. Witherspoon opened up to Glamour about being in a relationship with someone who’s not a celebrity, saying, “I have a little perspective on this. I wouldn’t say it’s easier. Every relationship has its own dynamic. And I don’t want to disparage any of the other relationships that I’ve had that were meaningful and wonderful. But what I’m finding out is that it’s very comfortable to be with somebody who understands my career, but doesn’t do what I do. He’s a great guy. He’s wonderful.” Send your well-wishes to Witherspoon and Toth in the comments section below! Related Photos Reese Witherspoon’s Dating History

My 7 Favorite People From the Year in Culture

I do a lot of interviews. So when looking back on my favorite stories of 2010, sure, I live blogged seven Harry Potter movies over the course of 36 hours and, yes, I somehow had the time to watch five seasons of Lost in three weeks, but, interviews — indeed, people — are what I remember the most.

Christian Bale Calls Real-Life ‘Fighter’ Family ‘Passionate’

‘Everyone was like, ‘Who knows what’s going to happen?’ ‘ he tells MTV News of having Dicky Eklund and his relatives on set. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Christian Bale Photo: MTV News For Christian Bale, one of the highlights of making “The Fighter,” a performance for which he was recently nominated for a Golden Globe in the Best Supporting Actor category, was meeting and getting to know the real-life inspiration for his character: Dicky Eklund. Bale said he and Eklund became buddies over the course of filming — during which Bale learned to speak “Dickenese,” Eklund’s unique manner of speaking — which proved useful when it came to translating the half-brothers’ story to the big screen. “[We said] ‘Look, there’s no story here unless we show the dregs. You’ve got to show the lows.’ ” Bale recalled telling Dicky and his brother Micky Ward, the inspiration behind Mark Wahlberg’s character. “It’s the roller coaster of their life that makes it a fascinating story. Each one individually doesn’t make a movie, but you combine the two brothers, and there’s a fascinating movie.” The “Dark Knight” star added that in showcasing so much of the life of these two men, there were creative liberties taken for time’s sake, which didn’t always go over well with Eklund. “We [had] to show that side of it, and also condensing a life into two hours, you’re taking some license,” Bale explained. “Initially, there were a lot of problems. Dicky would be saying, ‘That’s not how it went down. I said this not that’ and ‘He wasn’t there at that point. He was over here.’ “[We told him] ‘Right, but we’ve had to kind of blend these two scenes, because otherwise this movie is going to be years long.’ ” Bale recalled. “So he came to understand that, but there were a couple of moments where I had to say, ‘Dicky, don’t go punch [director] David [O. Russell] now. Don’t go punch him. It’s all right, count to 10, let’s figure it out.’ And I’m sure David and Mark had to stop him from punching me and stuff.” Bale described the initial meetings with all of Eklund and Ward’s family members — including Ward’s feisty wife Charlene (played by Amy Adams in the film) — as a trip. “Charlene was there with her sisters,” Bale recalled, “and everyone was like, ‘Who knows what’s going to happen?’ … They’re a passionate family.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Fighter.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . T.I. Shows ‘No Mercy’ In Video Premiere

Pensive title track from upcoming album features The-Dream. By Gil Kaufman T.I. in his video for “No Mercy” T.I. won’t be around this week to celebrate the release of his new album, No Mercy due to his 11-month prison stint on a probation violation, but the King of the South left behind an emotionally gripping clip to tide fans over. The video for the album’s title track opens with a trenchcoat-and-sunglasses-wearing Tip solemnly getting out of his black Ferrari in front of a church while the song’s majestic piano intro plays behind him. As he removes his shades to enter the house of worship and put his hands together in prayer, the grinding guitar-infused track heats up, and we see images of the rapper and The-Dream standing against an ethereal, “magic hour” sunset. The theme of redemption and transgression is quickly slammed home as Dream croons “There’s no mercy for me/ No crying myself to sleep … good morning, reality,” in front of a stained-glass window with bright sunlight streaming through it. Cutting between scenes of him sitting in the pews, standing in the church aisle and reciting his lyrics on a hilltop, Tip looks alternately relaxed and humble over the course of the bare-bones performance clip. As will likely be the case with many of the lyrics on the album, T.I.’s verses take on an ironic twist in light of the fact that he is currently back in prison. Recorded after his release from a year-long sentence earlier this year, tied to his 2007 felony gun possession charge, No Mercy drops on Tuesday as the rapper sits in the same prison, serving an 11-month sentence for violating his probation. “Trapped in a vicious circle/ Jesus’ youngest disciple/ Tell the judge if he throwed the book at me/ Make it the bible,” he raps at the outset of the song. After later comparing himself to late rapper Tupac Shakur — who also released an album while incarcerated — and noting how much fans missed the star once he was gone, T.I. adds, “Hindsight 20/20/ Future not as clear/ But I’m a rider til I die.” The fade out comes as The-Dream croons the song’s angelic chorus again, and the pair take turns standing in front of the shimmering stained glass window while pensively looking out from behind dark shades. Lady Gaga ’60 Minutes’ Interview Details Revealed

‘She’s obviously a fascinating person,’ Anderson Cooper says about time he spent with the pop star. By Jocelyn Vena Lady Gaga Photo: Stephen Lovekin/ Getty Images For those wondering when that “60 Minutes” interview with Lady Gaga and Anderson Cooper will air, the news anchor announced that it will air in February 2011, around the time of the Grammy Awards. He also revealed why he wanted to interview the “Bad Romance” singer so badly. “I was really interested to meet Lady Gaga … she’s obviously a fascinating person,” he said in a sit-down with “The Insider.” “What’s great about ’60 Minutes’ is you spend a lot of time with the person you’re profiling.” Cooper recounted just how much time he got to spend with the singer, who is going to release her new album in early 2011. “So to be able to spend a couple weekends with her in various places over the course of several months, it’s really cool,” he added. “And it’s really interesting and I’m learning stuff about her I never saw before.” Photos and some grainy YouTube footage of the two filming the interview in October found its way online soon after they were spotted in London on the South Bank of the Thames River chatting for the episode. Gaga was wearing a lacy bustier, platform ankle-high boots, fishnet stockings and sunglasses, with her long hair loose and down. Gaga recently tweeted that her album Born This Way is nearly complete, and Akon, her label boss, shared that he thinks Gaga is really stepping up her game with this album. “If I was going to compare it to her previous work, I would definitely say it’s a notch up,” Akon said. “It’s like she’s slowly taking you on to this journey down this road. If she were to just drastically do it, she probably would have lost everybody from the first album, but once the sound was created and established, now we can use that as a tool to grab all the monsters and walk them down this graveyard. It’s crazy. It’s amazing.” Related Photos The Evolution Of: Lady Gaga Related Artists Lady Gaga
