Tilda Swinton Sleeps in Box: Is This Art?

Over the next month, attendees at the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art in New York City will be in for a surprise: An Oscar-winning actress, asleep in a glass box. As co-creator of a piece titled “The Maybe,” Tilda Swindon will arrive at unannounced times and lie down for all to see. The museum itself will reportedly be unaware of when Swindon takes part in the exhibit, which will be moved all around the grounds, as explained in the following MoMA statement to The Gothamist : “An integral part of ‘The Maybe’s incarnation at MoMA in 2013 is that there is no published schedule for its appearance, no artist’s statement released, no museum statement beyond this brief context, no public profile or image issued. Those who find it chance upon it for themselves, live and in real — shared — time: now we see it, now we don’t.” Interesting. We guess. What do you think? Should be this considered art?   Yes, and it’s beautiful No, but who am I to judge? No, WTH?!? View Poll »

Spring Breakers Heat Up Spain

The Spring Breakers girls have moved on to Spain now, and Ashley Benson did it again, winning another four-way hottie faceoff by bringing the cleavage. Thanks for playing Selena Gomez , Vanessa Hudgens and Rachel Korine . Better luck next time. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but if Ashley can keep this up, she’s going to become my new favorite. So stay tuned, because this is a story I’m going to be following very closely over the next few weeks. » view all 41 photos Photos: WENN.com

Derek Jeter Fractures Ankle, Out for Remainder of Season

Derek Jeter, the captain and starting shortstop for the New York Yankees, fractured his ankle in the 12th inning of the American League Championship Series opener this evening and will miss the remainder of the postseason. Which, at this rate, will last approximately three more games for the Yankees. Following a record-setting, game-tying home run by Raul Ibanez in the bottom of the ninth, the Yankees offense once again sputtered and couldn’t push anyone across the plate over the next three innings. In the 12th, Jeter moved to his left to field a ground ball, only to tumble down in pain. He was helped off the field, unable to put any weight on his left leg. Following the 6-4 loss, Joe Girardi announced that Jeter had broken his ankle and will require three months to recuperate. Do the Yankees have a chance of winning the 2012 World Series?   No way! Not a chance! Highly unlikely! Eh, maybe View Poll »

Out Of Touch Mitt Robney Tells Students To “Shop Around” And Borrow From Their Rents To Pay For College [Video]

If only we all had parents with off-shore bank accounts . This fool has got us laughing and shaking our damn heads at the same time. President Obama was out campaigning this week and met with students to address the current loan burden many of us are feeling. “He said, ‘The best thing you can do is shop around,’ ” the president said to boos from a youthful crowd of 3,500 in a sunny quadrangle at Capital University in Bexley, Ohio. “That’s it. That’s his plan. That’s his answer to young people who are trying to figure out how to go to college and make sure that they don’t have a mountain of debt.” Democrats contend that Ryan’s budget proposal, which failed to pass the Democratic-controlled Senate, would cut $115 billion from the Education Department, costing 1 million college students their Pell Grants over the next decade. Democrats argue those moves would punish many middle class and low income families trying to gain an education. The Romney campaign countered that Mr. Obama’s economic policies had resulted in a “lost generation” — graduates burdened by crushing debt, with little hope of repaying it because of the bleak job market. The campaign mocked the president’s answer to a question in a television interview in New Hampshire over the weekend, about why struggling college graduates should support his re-election. “Well, they can look at my track record,” Mr. Obama said. Guess Robmoney and Paul Lyan don’t think investing in the average students future is worth it. Source Images via WENN/Youtube
