‘It’s an incredibly emotional and strange moment in my life,’ Samberg says of leaving after seven years of ‘SNL.’ By Josh Wigler Andy Samberg Photo: Jeff Kravitz/ FilmMagic It’s the end of an era for Andy Samberg, as the Lonely Island frontman has finally confirmed his exit from “Saturday Night Live.” Samberg spoke with The New York Times on Friday (June 1) and described the decision to depart “SNL” as “an incredibly emotional and strange moment in my life.” He added, “Obviously it’s not a huge shock, but I did officially decide not to come back.” No, it isn’t a huge shock — Samberg’s final Digital Short, a sequel to “Lazy Sunday,” strongly suggested his impending exit — but it’s nonetheless “one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made,” according to Samberg. In elaborating on his reasons for leaving the show after seven seasons, Samberg echoed the philosophy of fellow castmember Kristen Wiig, who also just concluded her “SNL” run . “She kept saying it just feels like it’s her time,” he said. “I connect with that. Something about it just feels like it’s the moment. My contract’s up, and I did so much more than I ever thought I would ever even do.” Samberg’s decision to walk away from the New York City-based variety show comes shortly after comments he made during his MTV Sneak Peek Week appearance for “That’s My Boy” this past Wednesday. At the time, Samberg told MTV News that his mind had not yet been made up regarding his future with the show. “You know, I’ve just been focusing on the movie and all this stuff,” the onetime MTV Movie Awards host said. “I haven’t talked to Lorne about it yet. Jessica Biel Gushes About Justin Timberlake’s Loyalty And Honesty And Says Marriage Won’t Change Their Relationship Jessica Biel has been getting all deep… and stuff, about her upcoming marriage to Justin Timberlake. Jessica Biel is looking at a completely new role in real life: housewife. “To me, nothing will really change, because I’m almost never home,” the Total Recall actress, 30, tells the French magazine Gala in a translated interview. “But when I am home, I enjoy cooking.” Some specialties she might serve up to soon-to-be husband Justin Timberlake? “I especially love making cupcakes,” she says, while admitting that when she attempts to customize recipes, “it’s a total disaster, but I’ve also had some pleasant surprises, like recently when I managed to make zucchini fritters.” Overall, once they tie the knot (possibly over the summer), “I don’t think our marriage will change anything,” she says. And while that may turn out not to be true, she does think “it will be a challenge finding a balance between my private life, family and work, and I’m ready.” She also describes herself as “someone who lets things happen naturally,” saying she is not sure if she wants to have a child right away. “For me, getting married doesn’t mean we should limit ourselves to some predefined idea. Rather, it’s an opportunity to explore new things in life, ” says Biel. And while fans may ogle Timberlake’s good looks and hot moves, for Biel, there are three distinct qualities she finds admirable in her future husband, 31: “The ability to communicate well … to be able to express his feelings. Then, loyalty. And, finally, honesty.” Who is this broad kidding? Drake had the internet going nuts over the summer with his hit, “Marvin’s Room.” The track might be the source of a big headache. The Canadian rapper is being sued by a woman named Ericka Lee . She claims she is the female voice on “Marvin’s Room” and hasn’t been compensated for her contribution. According to Lee, Drake acknowledged her part through text messages. The alleged messages read “U basically made that song” and “It’s sh*t without you.” Ericka Lee filed a claim back in July. Dallas Mavericks Guard Delonte West Not Allowed To Visit President Obama, White House Due To Gun Charges?

Earlier today the Dallas Mavericks, the NBA’s 2010-11 season champions visited President Barack Obama at the White House . In attendance for the annual meeting held in honor of the hoop champs was leader Dirk Nowitzki, point guard Jason Kidd, and others teammates. Well, except for backup Delonte West. West, a troubled D.C. native, actually signed with the Mavs over the summer and wasn’t a member of the team during their run last season. But the reason he missed the chance meeting with President Obama had nothing to do with that. Though the U.S. Secret Service won’t confirm it, reports are swirling that West was not allowed to join his team because he was arrested for gun possession in 2009, failing a background check of sorts. “The individual in question was never someone that would not be permitted to attend the event today,” Secret Service agent Edwin Donovan told ABC News. “He is on the list for entry today and was never advised otherwise to my knowledge.” However West himself seems to believe he was blackballed on the count of the ’09 charges. “That’s what happens when you make bad decisions in your life,” West said over the weekend, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “You can’t go to the White House.” West is laughing the loss off and keeping the fodder light. “It’s going to be a shame the president isn’t going to get a chance to meet me,” West said. “I’m the president of my house.” What do you think went down? Everyone from Nicki Minaj and Selena Gomez to Bruce Springsteen has graced the stage with the pop darling in 2011. During a Miami tour stop last month, the singer brought Flo Rida onstage to perform his very blush-inducing track “Right Round.” And if you were surprised to hear about the collaboration, Flo told MTV News at Los Angeles’ Jingle Ball over the weekend that he was just as shocked. “I was in Australia. I got home, and I was actually staying in my condo for the day,” he explained. “And I looked down, ’cause my condo, it’s right across the street from the arena, and I was like, ‘I wonder who’s performing?’ So I went down there, spur-of-the-moment, and they told me it was Taylor.” Initially, Flo Rida just wanted a chance to catch the show, but when he spoke to her people, it turned into a whole different opportunity. “I spoke with them, and they asked me to perform,” he said. “And she was very nice and very humble. I had an amazing time. Her fans are over-the-top. It was crazy. Much love to Taylor Swift.” Swift wrapped up her tour in New York last month. During her Atlanta stop over the summer, she brought another rapper onstage with her: T.I. “I was pleasantly surprised and confused,” T.I. told MTV News of receiving the phone call from Swift. “I was confused because I know it’s a phenomenal opportunity, but being T.I. — the Rubberband Man — and Taylor Swift being America’s Sweetheart, I had just gotten out of prison, like, two days [earlier], and all of a sudden my phone rings.” While the hip-hop appearances on her tour might seem surprising, Swift assured us in October that she really loves the genre. “I’m a huge hip-hop fan, and it’s been so amazing to have so many incredible artists come out and to get to sing the hooks on their songs that I’ve been blasting in my car for the last couple years,” she said. “It’s been awesome. Good Riddance: Chris Breezy’s Neighbors Sing “Oh Happy Day” In Unison As He Moves Of His Bachelor Pad Condo!

We’re sure they gladly chunked the “Deuces” to Chris and his shenanigans… Remember back over the summer when we reported that Breezy’s neighbors weren’t fawking with him behind his parking in handicapped spots? Well, they can now breathe a collective sigh of relief. Breezy has left the building…for good! According to TMZ reports : Chris Brown is waving the white flag, because we found out he moved out of the West Hollywood condo in which he was at war with his neighbors. Brown’s neighbors were complaining bitterly that he was parking in handicapped spots, playing music at ear-shattering levels at all hours of the night and even defacing property. Brown has denied committing any misdeeds. Neighbors tell us …. they’re “ecstatic” to see him go … but Chris has not sold the unit, and we don’t know his plans. Damn Chris, don’t let them white folks run you out of ya own home!! Speaking of “Oh Happy Day” this is always good for a laugh…

Congratulations??? Big Sean Cops A Plea In Sexual Misconduct Case

Uh… We’re not quite sure how to feel about this one. But TMZ reports Big Sean has managed to dodge the biggest of bullets as far as the charges that stemmed from an incident in Buffalo over the summer are concerned. 23-year-old Sean — who got a 2011 MTV VMA nomination for best new artist — was arrested in August during a concert in Buffalo, NY … after a 17-year-old girl told police the rapper and his friend had sexually assaulted her. Big Sean — real name Sean Michael Anderson — was charged with 3rd degree sex abuse, forcible touching and 2nd degree unlawful imprisonment. But now, TMZ has learned prosecutors agreed to drop the first two charges on the condition that Big Sean plead guilty to misdemeanor unlawful imprisonment … which carries a $750 fine. Sean’s lawyer Scott Leemon tells TMZ, the rapper has accepted the terms — and has paid the fine — but still insists “he did not engage in any type of sexual misconduct.” Soooooo…. did he just plead guilty to watching his boy take advantage of an underaged girl? SMH

Some Non-Bey Bump News For The Stans: The “Party” Video Is Just Two Days Away

Now that y’all have finally warmed up to “4,” Bey ‘s final masterpiece as a non-mommy, looks like she is going to give you a video a week until maternity leave. Next up is the clip for “Party,” which Bey shot in New Jersey over the summer with Kelly, Solange and some other randoms . The video is set to premier on Tuesday night on MTV. We haven’t seen a trailer/preview for this one though… Maybe she’s still mad that we got pictures way back then. Hopefully the video will feature the original, dope, Andre 3000-featured version. And not this “Let’s make Light-Skinned Jermaine feel like part of the family” remix they dropped yesterday.

Rick Ross Drops Two New God Forgives Songs

By Rob Markman Rick Ross Photo: Tim Mosenfelder/ Getty Images It remains to be seen if there’s truth to DJ Khaled and Drake ‘s declaration that Rick Ross’s upcoming album , God Forgives, I Don’t, is a classic-in-the-making. And while fans will have to wait until the December 13 release date to make that determination, on Tuesday night, they got a head-start after the Bawse dropped two promising singles. Rozay gave fans just a taste of his fifth solo LP last night when he visited New York radio disc jockey Funkmaster Flex and premiered “I Love My Bitches” and the Nicki Minaj-assisted “You the Boss” on Hot 97 . “I wanted to most definitely go to another level and make sure my sound continued to evolve and take people somewhere different,” Ross told Flex . “I wanted to collaborate with Nicki in another way, her breaking down and just letting us hear her beautiful voice.” The syrupy slow “You the Boss” has a 1980s soul vibe. Ross starts the record off with one of his patented grunts and then whispers sweet nothing’s before telling the object of his affection, “I deserve you!” Nicki’s complementary hook channels a loyal lover who will do anything for her “boss” Ricky Ross. It’s a more romantic tone for the Maybach Music CEO, who has grown into an unlikely sex symbol, and “You the Boss,” with its promises of lavish shopping sprees and companionship, may only raise his stock. The Just Blaze-produced “I Love My Bitches,” while also aimed at women, is dramatically different. Over a sped-up soul sample, the Teflon Don is far less gentlemanly as he laments, “Awww, man, I love my bitches.” Lyrically, Ross aims the record at the streets, mixing more tales of lavish sprees with stories of selling bricks of cocaine. With little to no regard for continuity, he goes back and forth in his verses, seducing women and talking to his boys about daily dealings in the same breath. It’s clear on “My Bitches” that Ross feels like he’s on top of the world as he spits lines like, “Living life to the fullest, what’s the emphasis/ Making love to Mary J’s ‘Reminisce.’ ” Interestingly enough, Mary J. Blige also appears on God Forgives, I Don’t. While Rozay isn’t sure that the song will be a single just yet, he holds it in high regard. “That’s the Queen. I can just tell you about the experience,” he told MTV News of working with MJB. “We made some magic.” “Me making my album is just a real tedious process that I go through,” Rozay added. “The response from the people that I did play a few records for, the feedback is incredible.” Share your reviews of the brand-new Ross singles in the comments!
