Chris Brown on Rihanna: Remorseful, Sorry, "Eternally Grateful and Thankful"

Chris Brown visited On Air with Ryan Seacrest for the first time today, weighing in on a number of hot topics … notably Rihanna, J. Lo and that valet dustup. Though often criticized, the always-controversial 23-year-old sounded as sincere, genuine and thoughtful as we’ve ever heard him in this sit-down. Here’s what the R&B star had to say about … Chris Brown Interview Part 1 Rihanna, and winning her back : “I just tried my best to be the best man I could be over the years and just show her how remorseful and sorry I was.” “That time was probably the worst part of my life and being that she’s been and she is a wonderful person I’m eternally grateful and thankful.” On not blaming his age and immaturity for what happened back in 2009: “I could put that on my age but that would just be making an excuse.” “I think for me that at age 18-19 I was capable of writing and producing songs, so I’m also capable of making the right choices. So I think it’s a learning process.” “At that young age I can tell you I was arrogant and definitely hotheaded. Everybody has a temper, but for me it was not knowing how to control it when I thought I had the world in my hands.” On winning back fans : “People are entitled to their opinions. I can’t go around blaming. It’s all about my responsibility and me growing up as a man.” “So I think now that I’m becoming older, and trying to mature in this life under the public eye, I have to focus on doing the right thing and being more of a humble individual.” Chris Brown Interview Part 2 On the greatest lesson he learned in life : “That you can lose it all. And I’m not saying fame or stardom because that’s not what it’s about.” “I’m talking about dignity [and] integrity. You know, you lose yourself in a way.” On collaborating with Jennifer Lopez : “I’m trying to get her on my album, I have a couple songs that would be incredible for her to feature on.” “But as for now, I’m just in the studio writing for her album and collaborating on new stuff and trying to give her some party music and fun stuff.” On that fight with a valet parking guy : “Okay so I can elaborate on the situation. By all means, I’m a great tipper. Ten dollars is not a problem.” “[It] was five dollar parking at the place…but before we went in, I gave the man $100 dollars. We had two cars. It’s five dollar parking. Okay, do the math.” “So when we came out he was like, ‘You know what? We need $20 for each car.’ And I said, ‘Sir, I just gave you $100.’ So he was like, ‘No, no we need $10.’” “So he was just trying to get more money. I was like, ‘no,’ so by that time it was a situation.” [laughs] “I’ve got to just shut up and be like, ‘Security go get the keys! I’ll be by the car.’” Are you on Team Breezy?   Yes! He’s come a long way! Team Breezy! No! He’s still not very nice. View Poll »

When The Checks Stop Coming In: Ryan Seacrest Splits With Julianne Hough

Damn… She just lost her sponsor! Ryan Seacrest and Julianne Hough are “taking a break”. We guess those beard fees must’ve went up now that she’s getting more movie roles. Via People reports : After dating for more than two years, Ryan Seacrest and Julianne Hough have decided to take a break and are living apart, sources close to the couple confirm to PEOPLE. The sources maintain that busy work schedules proved to be a great challenge for them both, although they are still in regular contact and remain friends. Reps for Hough and Seacrest declined to comment. The American Idol host and media mogul, 38, and former Dancing with the Stars pro and actress, 24, have spoken candidly in the past about juggling career and a relationship. “It’s a hard thing to do, especially when you’re so caught up in your work and bettering yourself,” Hough recently told PARADE. “I think at the end of the day you have to find a balance with what’s really important.” After ringing in the new year, the duo enjoyed a romantic getaway in St. Bart’s days later. Why do you think they split? Do you think she found someone straight she wants to get chopdown action from? Is she getting too big for her britches? Maybe she was tired of hearing about the Kardashians? We just don’t understand why homegirl would pass up the opportunity to be BALLLLLLLLLIN’ for life! WENN

Kandi Esplains Her “Tardy For The Party” Lawsuit Against Kim Zolciak, “I Don’t Want That Ho Makin’ No More Money Off My WORK!”

What had happened is… In light of the recent lawsuit she filed against former friend Kim Zolciak involving the song they created for years ago, Kandi is keeping it all the way gangsta about why she had to file them papers! In an exclusive statement to HipHollywood , Kandi explained that she did want to file the suit, but had no other choice, saying: “It’s time for the whole ordeal to be over. I asked TuneCore to take the song down in December 2012. They did. Kim sent an affidavit to put it back up, which they did. TuneCore then informed me that in order for the song to be taken down permanently I would need to file suit to have it removed. I never wanted to go that route but after being told that it is the only way to get the song removed, I had no other choice.” Kandi penned the hit smash for Kim back in 2009, but has expressed several times over the years that she wasn’t properly compensated for her royalties. Kim also released a statement, claiming that Kandi’s actually been overpaid and the lawsuit is a publicity stunt, via TooFab: “This is nothing short of a publicity stunt, I find this lawsuit funny yet sad. Coming after me now and this song is 4 years old? I have in fact overpaid Kandi and have documents to prove it and my legal team will handle this accordingly.” Kandi however refuted those claims telling HipHollywood , “This is not a publicity stunt. I no longer wish for anyone to benefit from the work that Don Vito and I created.” Kim’s “RHOA” spin-off, ironically titled “Don’t Be Tardy,” premieres on April 16th. We’re sure this lawsuit will be a hot topic on the show, especially since fellow cast mate Phaedra Parks is representing Kandi. Isht is real… Kandi basically created a whole brand for Kim and the beyotch has been nothing but disrespectful. Can you blame her for the lawsuit? Get ya paper Kandi! BravoTV

Dad’s Letter to Gay Son Goes Viral, Warms Hearts

A letter from a dad to his gay son – who he overheard saying he planned to come out to his parents – has gone viral this week due to its simple, hopeful message. Writes Nate’s dad: “I overheard your phone conversation with Mike last night about your plans to come out to me. The only thing I need you to plan is to bring home OJ and bread after class.” “We are out, like you now. I’ve known you were gay since you were six, I’ve loved you since you were born. Dad. PS Your mom and I think you and Mike make a cute couple.” The letter was posted by FCKH8 (dot) com, a group dedicated to empowering youth through gay-positive, often snarky apparel, photos and videos. “We get a lot of crazy stuff, so I almost didn’t look at it,” FCKH8 founder Luke Montgomery told Yahoo! Shine , but when he did read it, he said, “I cried.” He said Nate, a high school student in Michigan, sent the letter. Nate and his family did not want to share any information besides the letter itself, but the four sentences alone have been enough to inspire plenty. “It’s actually sad so many people are excited,” Mongtomery said. “And what I think that says is, one, it’s rare, and that’s really bad,” however, on the positive side, “a lot of people are really craving this kind of reaction.” “It’s what I want,” he explained. “It’s what everyone wants.” The national organization Parents and Families of Lesbian and Gays (PFLAG) also saw the letter and loved it, calling it “what PFLAG is all about.” Just don’t forget the OJ and bread please, Nate. Responsibility!

Steve Katz, NY State Assemblyman, Arrested For Marijuana Possession

New York State Assemblyman Steve Katz (R) has been charged with drug possession after a Thursday morning traffic stop on the NYS Thruway. “After noting the odor of marijuana, a New York State Trooper found Katz in possession of a small bag of marijuana,” a State Police’s press release states. Steve Katz, 59, is due back in court March 28. Katz said he “will not let this incident impede my public service and my calls for mandate relief, a better economic climate and better services for those in need in New York.” “This should not overshadow the work I have done over the years for the public … I am confident that once the facts are presented that this will quickly be put to rest.” It’s unclear what those facts are, but the case is notable in part because Katz currently sits on the Assembly’s Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Committee. The Lower Hudson Valley lawmaker also ran unsuccessfully last year for state Senate against his former ally, Sen. Greg Ball, in a bare-knuckle campaign. Among the revelations? Katz, a veterinarian, was once been arrested for putting a dead dog in a dumpster, and for allegedly harming a feisty chihuahua during an exam. No charges were brought in either incident.
