3OH!3 And Ke$ha’s ‘First Kiss’: The Summer Jam Of 2010?

If it’s not the song of the summer, it’s still a bona fide party starter. By Kyle Anderson 3OH!3 and Ke$ha’s ‘First Kiss’ Photo: Photo Finish Records In one corner, we have Denver post-electro duo 3OH!3, whose chant-along choruses have made them favorites of hard-partyers everywhere. In the opposite corner stands Ke$ha, a star whose debut album Animal continues to wreck the Billboard charts on the back of killer singles like “Tik Tok” and the recently released “Your Love Is My Drug.” With so much melody and dance-friendly music packed into one song, their collaboration would have to be the winner of the 2010 Summer Songs Sweepstakes , right? It’s quite possible. The three already collaborated on a hit (“Blah Blah Blah,” which appeared on Ke$ha’s album), and their latest hookup is another chant-along jam called “First Kiss,” which celebrates the thrill of the titular rite of passage on the strength of a pulse-pounding beat and a chorus you can shout along to (not unlike Avril Lavigne’s “Girlfriend,” a summer-jam contender in 2007 ). Of course, the summer-friendly lyrical content doesn’t hurt. “That’s a really summery topic,” said Leah Greenblatt of Entertainment Weekly. “Everybody has a memory of having a first kiss under a boardwalk or something.” For Ke$ha, it’s all about having a good time — another very summer-centric sentiment. “It’s just fun,” she told MTV News. “The song is fun, and those guys [in 3OH!3] are fun.” With all that positive energy already folded into the song, “First Kiss” should be an automatic winner for the title of Official Summer Jam of 2010, right? It’s a strong entry, but it also faces stiff competition from similarly excellent tunes by Lady Gaga , B.o.B , Usher and Katy Perry . Still, even if “First Kiss” doesn’t emerge as the song that sticks with us through the season’s beach parties and barbecues, 3OH!3 and Ke$ha can be confident they crafted yet another pitch-perfect party starter. Over the years, there have been many memorable men in the lives of the four women on “Sex and the City.” There have been husbands and bad first dates, heartbreakers and one-night stands — and then there are the men who left an impression on the four women who play Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda. Cynthia Nixon said now-husband Steve is her choice for Miranda’s best boyfriend of all time. “Of course, David Eigenberg is the favorite boyfriend,” she told MTV News. “But perhaps because he’s my husband, he doesn’t count.” Her next favorite is a fan favorite. “So I would say Dr. Robert. I would say Blair Underwood.” For Kristin Davis, who plays the slightly prudish Charlotte, her top contender had to be Hollywood playboy Wylie Ford, who showed up in season two to bring her along for one fast-paced ride. “Brian Van Holt,” she said, picking the “Cougar Town” actor as her fave. “Do I have to say why?” Leave it to Kim Cattrall to have the wildest choice for her top “SATC” boy toy. We’ll just let her explain. “Bobby Cannavale [in season three]. I thought he was great. I think he’s a good actor, and he was so much fun to play with, and he was up for it,” she dished. “We did the ‘funky sp—‘ episode together, which is a tough one, because it could have gone terribly wrong.” While Aidan and Mr. Big are the fans’ favorites for Carrie’s men, Sarah Jessica Parker opted for politician Bill Kelley from season three. “John Slattery,” she said without missing a beat. I’ve made a lot of jokes over the years at the expense of Jennifer Love Hewitt’s big ass, but I have to hand it to her, If she’s still got a big ass she knows how to hide it very effectively. Here she is at some event doing just that, all I see are amazing curves and some nice distracting cleavage. Well done. These shots make me think that maybe I’m wrong and that she’s managed to shrink her ass down to a reasonable size. I’m impressed. Slipknot Bassist Paul Gray Dead At 38

By James Montgomery Slipknot’s Paul Gray Photo: Barry Brecheisen/WireImage Slipknot bassist Paul Gray — one of the group’s founding members — was found dead in an Iowa hotel room early Monday morning (May 24), according to reports. He was 38. The Des Moines Register reported that police were called to the TownePlace Suites hotel in Urbandale, Iowa, shortly before 11 a.m. after an employee discovered Gray’s body in a room. There was no evidence of foul play, police told the newspaper, but the investigation is ongoing and an autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday. A toxicology test will also be done to determine any contributing factors to his death. A spokesperson for Slipknot’s label, Roadrunner Records, confirmed the report to MTV News. Gray, better known as #2 or “The Pig” because of the mask he wore while performing with Slipknot, helped form the group in 1995, along with current members Shawn “Clown” Crahan and Joey Jordison. Though the band’s lineup shifted over the years — with members departing or switching instruments — Gray’s position within the group remained constant: He was the only bass player Slipknot ever had. The group would release four albums, the last of which — 2008’s All Hope Is Gone — debuted at #1 on the Billboard albums chart. They spent most of the next year touring the world before taking an extended break at the end of 2009. Earlier this year, Gray announced that he would be using the time off to play with hard-riffing supergroup Hail!, featuring Tim “Ripper” Owens, Megadeth’s David Ellefson and Sepultura’s Andreas Kisser. In 2003, Gray was arrested on drug-possession charges after police discovered small amounts of marijuana, cocaine and two syringes in his vehicle following a traffic accident in Des Moines. I don’t fucking know why I am posting these pictures, but assume it has to do with the fact that I jerked off to Ginger Spice in at least one Spice Girls video over a decade ago after my stepdaughter made me watch the shit on repeat for 4 hours and I couldn’t contain myself anymore, and I like revisiting those days by reminding myself that all good things come to an end for everyone, not just me…It keeps me going…so in a lot of ways, recent pictures of Ginger Spice is my happy place…cuz I get to see that we have all fallen deeper and deeper into a miserable place over the years, I just ignore the fact that she’s got huge amounts of money, cuz that makes it all less effective…. It’s no mystery that King James and Jay-Z are bosom buddies and that Jay’s influence on the scoring champ could bring the kid from Akron, Ohio, to the Big Apple. Earlier this year at their “Two Kings” annual event during the NBA All-Star weekend in Dallas, Texas, Hov told a crowd of reporters that he was impressed at LeBron’s growth over the years. “I’m inspired by LeBron James at this moment, this season that he’s having,” Jay said. “I didn’t think that he would get any better. I remember when I first met him — he told me that he played point guard and I was like, ‘You’ll never make it in the NBA.’ I didn’t think he’d make it past half court — he’s 6-foot-8! But I didn’t know how gifted this young man would become. And he’s getting better.” “Growing up, I had many inspirations,” James added. “Many are the same Jay mentioned.” Jay-Z and LeBron share many similarities from the reigning positions in their respective careers down to the origins of their upbringing, as both superstars come from single-parent homes. “I think our biggest inspirations were our families,” Jay continued. “We didn’t have all of this stuff coming around the neighborhood. For us, it was just our mothers, our parents — our strong mothers.” Later in the Q&A session, a reporter asked LeBron if he ever thought about playing for the Dallas Mavericks “Uh …” LeBron paused, looking toward Jay for an answer. “That’s a little self-serving,” Hov shot back at the reporter. “What about the Nets?” another reporter asked. “Nah,” Jay calmly responded. Matt Lauer Denies Cheating Allegations; Alexis Houston Rumored as Mistress

Matt Lauer and his wife are shooting down reports of a split amid his cheating ways – with Alexis Houston, who claims to be Whitney’s half-sister, the other woman! Allegedly the other woman, and allegedly Whitney Houston’s half-sister. Both parts of this story are suspect, to say the least. Especially after Whitney’s rep said: “Alexis Houston has no relation to Whitney in any way, shape or form.” Whitney’s relative or not, Matt Lauer met Alexis Houston several years ago when she accompanied Whitney’s real-life relative Dionne Warwick to the morning show. According to Hollyscoop, Lauer reached out to Alexis as recently as the 2010 Olympics, saying she was apparently at the sporting event to sing in Whitney’s stead. Or not. “Whitney was never scheduled to perform at the Olympics,” her rep said. Okay, great … so is there any truth to this sordid Matt Lauer affair or what? Was Matt Lauer cheating on his wife with Alexis Houston? As for Alexis, her rep has denied the Lauer affair, saying: “Ms. Houston has never had any sort of relationship with Mr. Lauer and does not even recall meeting him.” Basically, Matt Lauer’s had marital problems. But he’s no David Boreanaz. Or Tiger Woods. Or Jesse James. You get the idea. In a statement, the Today host said: “I am living in my apartment with Annette and my children as a family and a couple. I have never moved out. I am not moving out. There is no truth to that.” “Have we had a completely perfect, easy marriage? No,” Lauer says. “But the stories you’ve read over the years are not true. I don’t think we’re any different than any married couple that’s been together for 12 years. The accusations are ridiculous and I’m not going to [dignify] them with an answer. It’s not true.” He calls the cheating allegations “ridiculous” and “offensive.” Interesting. Makes you wonder if there’s a grain of truth in this somewhere. Added Annette Roque Lauer: “Out of self respect, I want to stand up for our family.”
