King Louie Didn’t Know Kanye West Is A Fan

Louie responds to ‘Ye’s shout-out on G.O.O.D. Music’s ‘I Don’t Like’ remix: ‘It was crazy,’ Chicago MC tells Mixtape Daily . By Rob Markman, with reporting by Vanessa White Wolf King Louie Photo: MTV News Fire Starter: King Louie It isn’t just a Chicago thing anymore — just ask King Louie. There was a time when 24-year-old Louis Johnson was just making music for fans within his native city’s borders, but in the past year, the Eastside Chi-town MC has seen his name spread like wildfire. A well-timed Kanye West plug only fanned the flames. “I was coming from the dentist, he had gave me all those meds, so I was kinda out of whack,” Louie told Mixtape Daily of when he first heard Yeezy name-check him on the G.O.O.D. Music remix to Chief Keef’s underground riot starter “I Don’t Like.” “Shout-out to L.E.P., J Boogie, right?/ Chief Keef, King Louie, this is Chi, right?” ‘Ye spits on the souped-up remix, which hit the Web last week on May 1. “It was crazy, because you don’t think them type of guys on that level hear your music just coming from the hood,” Louie said of his surprise during an L.A. interview three days after the song dropped. Though Louie plays humble, it has been increasingly difficult to ignore his musical output. His 2011 track “Too Cool” has been consistently buzzing thanks to its infectious hook and polished music video. It also doesn’t hurt that he joined forces with Kanye’s former manager John Monopoly about eight months ago. Now, Louie is signed to independent label Lawless Inc. and continues to pump out street-inspired, hard-hitting, dope-boy music. His latest mixtape, Motion Picture, serves as an appetizer for his upcoming album, Dope & Shrimp . Lou was about 16 years old when he first started hitting the recording studio. He started taking rap seriously after he got kicked out of high school. Now KL is part of a budding Chicago music scene that includes Chief Keef, Rockie Fresh, L.E.P. Bogus Boys, YP and Def Jam’s latest signees Lil’ Durk and Lil’ Reese . “The music scene is crazy. It’s younger and energetic. … It’s fun again,” Louie said of his city’s new crop of spitters. King Louie is particularly proud that he has had a hand in influencing a lot of Chi’s new talent: He and 16-year-old Keef are frequent collaborators. “Makes me feel like I did something right for my peers,” he said. Now that rap’s spotlight is shining on him and his team, King Louie doesn’t plan to let up his verbal assault any time soon. Next up is Dope & Shrimp, a title Louie said he chose because all he does is “smoke dope and eat shrimp.” “It’s more mature; you can tell that I’m growing,” he explained. “You can hear the growth and development in my craft. Sounds like a better Louie.” For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines . Related Artists Kanye West

President Obama’s Gay-Marriage Support: Perez Hilton Weighs In

‘I almost don’t want to applaud him too much, because I wish he would have done this a long time ago,’ blogger tells MTV News. By Kara Warner Perez Hilton Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty Images continues to be a hot topic of conversation. Just about everyone has an opinion on the issue, including Hollywood’s movers and shakers . With all the overwhelming enthusiasm for the president’s announcement, there is also cautious optimism on the subject, given the issue’s continued hot-button status in pop culture, as well as around the nation. Perez Hilton is a public figure who counts himself among the cautiously optimistic, mostly because the issue is so loaded and political. “It was definitely happy news, but I almost don’t want to applaud him too much, because I wish he would have done this a long time ago,” Hilton told MTV News. “Having said that, it’s better that he did it than not. He could have waited until after the election. However, it’s clearly a calculated move in that he felt confident that this won’t hurt his chances at getting re-elected, and that’s why he did it.” Hilton went on to say that he will happily applaud the president for his actions, but not too loudly. “He’s still playing a [political] game, it is what it is, and it’s still something that is positive and a step in the right direction,” he said. “I think it’s ultimately a self-defeating fight, because gay marriage is a given. It’s going to happen, it’s just a question of how soon and, of course, as a gay man and someone who believes in equal rights for all, I would rather it happen sooner rather than later.” Speaking to the involvement of Hollywood — and, more specifically, the news that “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy announced Thursday (May 10) his plans to host a fundraiser for Obama during his visit to Los Angeles — Hilton emphasized the fact that same-sex marriage is an issue that everyone should be talking about and aware of, not just celebrities. “I think Hollywood is great — I’m part of it — but I also feel like same-sex marriage and quality is an issue that is important everywhere,” he said. “I think an everyday person can be just as or more effective in creating change than celebrities. It is important to have people in Hollywood to talk about it, important for people to be out of the closet, important to have represented in the media, but it’s just as powerful for everybody to do their part. There are a lot more famous people than non-famous people. “Obviously, I think [Obama] has done great work,” Hilton continued. “My biggest wish for this country is in 20 years we have a viable at least four-party system. People need more options than just a Democratic candidate and a Republican candidate. I wish we had four great candidates from different parties to choose from. It’s time to change the way things work. It’s been this way for so long. It needs to evolve and grow.

How Did Jessica Simpson Learn She Was Pregnant?

Jessica Simpson says her daughter made her presence known early on. “We were just about to [go] all-day drinking,” the singer and Fashion Star mentor recalls to Elle , which features Jessica Simpson nude on the cover of its new issue. “We were off to ride our bikes, hang out. But I felt this overwhelming guilt. Why would I feel guilt at the idea of going out and having cocktails with friends?” With an inkling that something was a little off, the 31-year-old Simpson took a home pregnancy test – and discovered she was expecting with fiance Eric Johnson. Instantly, her life changed. “I’m a free-spirited girl, but giving up my scotch? My Macallan 18? That was hard for me!” she says.

The 5 Golden Rules For Choosing Wedding Flowers

Link:

The fun begins once your wedding date is chosen, and there are many creative ways you can incorporate flowers into your wedding. While we all have our own ideas of the colors, size and type of flower arrangements, be sure to add your own personal touch and be practical when making decisions. Here are 5 smart golden rules you should follow when you design flowers for your big day: 1. Less is more at the wedding ceremony. All of your family and friends have assembled together on your special day, so don’t distract them with too much going on. 2. Reposition the ceremony flowers and use them at the reception. This will save money and allow you to stay within your budget. 3. Make the biggest bang happen when your guests are sitting up close and personal to the centerpieces. But make sure not to block the view of the person that is sitting across from them. 4. Choose flowers that will last a long period of time, especially if they will be sitting in the sun. 5. Pick flowers that will make an impact, smell amazing and most importantly, make you happy! Shaq’s Mistress Writes Love Letter Including Details Sexual Acts

Continued here:

Mediatakeout.com obtained a love letter from Shaq’s mistress Jasmine who claims to have had a long-time relationship with the Celtics star. Jasmine also claims that she “bled all over” Shaq during an intimate acts but has grown up since. Here’s the letter: My King, Remember in Phoenix you told me I was fine? With that country accent. Mmm. It was sexy because it was after the very first time I went on top. I stood there naked and it was like you were in awe. You stared at me like you saw something in me that you never saw before. I couldn’t even look at you because you were weirding me out talking about dinner lol. You made me blush; You said my smile was so pretty. Had you never noticed before? Or did something new develop that day and you were trying to let me know? Because you usually only complimented my Jordans or my jewelry. I figured that wasn’t you. You noted how clear my skin was. I told you it was just a part of growing up. Ever since that day, I’ve had this complex around you. This overwhelming feeling of needing to look and be flawless. Sometimes I fail. Remember the stories you confided in me while we ate dinner at Justin’s in Atlanta? You asked me if I would consider abortion. You asked me if I could cheat on you. You asked me my opinion of her. I removed emotions and answered objectively. Because I never wanted to let you know that each of those questions was like razors to my heart. Remember at your house, in your room when I was packing your bag for the roadtrip, your agent asked me if I wanted to marry you? You stared at me as you listened intently when I responded to his next question, “What would make me a good wife?” Ugh, the pressure! lol. I answered from my heart. I always do. When you make sweet love to me I reflect on how far I feel we’ve come. When I’m riding you and you tell me to look at you, in your eyes I see forever. When I reverse it on you, I can relax. Because the passion of looking at you in that moment is sometimes alot to bear. That intensity is a long way from times of our past. Like the times I bled all over you (sorry). I’m grown up now. And recently you learned how deep my love goes for you. And all that I am willing to do for you. Though I have an idea of where I place to you, I used to compare myself to her. Now I compare myself to the other her. & When comparing stories, shit don’t add up. I’ve heard that people treat you the way you treat yourself. Hmmm. Both a good decision and a terrible choice; I’ve been here from day 1. You even said that yourself. You have always downplayed those situations to me. You obviously care about my feelings. Just not enough. So cold. But When you told me you appreciate me and how much my downness means to you it wiped away the bad times. I was ready to move forward. I wish the dynamics of this never changed. It would make my life so much easier. In my desire to be perfect for you, I’ve learned so much about myself. I wish I wasn’t so weak. It seems you find joy in breaking me down to build me up… anytime you decide you feel like doing so. That’s not fair. And though I love you, I don’t deserve to deal with it anymore. I’m sure you don’t have faith in that statement after all this time. But that which does not kill me makes me stronger. That’s what they say. Why couldn’t you just love me the way you’re supposed to? Based on my worth? How sad that all things must come to an end. ‘American Idol’ Preview: Who Will Own Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Night?

We offer up song suggestions for the top nine. By Eric Ditzian “American Idol” top 9 Photo: FOX Last week on “American Idol,” it was all Elton John , all the time. On Wednesday (April 6), the contestants get to open up more than one songbook, because this week’s theme is based on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s Songs that Shaped Rock & Roll exhibit. They’ll be able to cover everyone from Jefferson Airplane to Jane’s Addiction, the Moody Blues to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the 5 Satins to the 4 Seasons, plus Kings B.B., Carole and Ben E. But with great variety comes great responsibility. Here’s what we’d like to from the remaining nine hopefuls: Casey Abrams With a cleaned-up beard on his face and a fire lit under his butt following a near-exit, Abrams stormed back into the mix with last week’s most emotionally resonant take on Elton. We pray he learned his lesson and will show similar vocal restraint Wednesday. He’s got a lot of soulful singers to choose from — Sam Cooke, Ray Charles — but one tune jumped out to us: Jimmy Cliff’s “Many Rivers to Cross” could turn into a much-needed “moment” for Abrams. Haley Reinhart Will she pull a Jacob Lusk, or can Haley build on her showstopping performance last week and stake a claim as a potential dark horse? A few weeks ago, Lusk busted out a stunner then followed it up by regressing back to the barely controlled eruptions he calls singing. Haley will once again have to show off those growls, but she can’t over-rely on them. The perfect song for her is the Allman Brothers Band’s “Whipping Post” — except instead of going with intense Southern rock,

30 Seconds To Mars Get Conflicted In ‘This Is War’ Video

Long-delayed clip is heavy on special effects — and message. By James Montgomery Jared Leto in the “This is War” video Photo: EMI More than a year after they shot it — and nearly nine months since we asked “Whatever Happened to It?” — 30 Seconds to Mars premiered their “This Is War” video on Wednesday (April 6), a clip that’s nearly as heavy on special effects as it is on message. Opening with a quote from H.G. Wells (“If we don’t end war, war will end us”) and concluding with the computer-generated destruction of tanks, jets and all manner of implements of destruction — or, more specifically, their assemblage into something more, which may or may not be the group’s Triad symbol — “War” is actually all about peace, a concept that doesn’t seem to gibe with the fact that 30STM are dressed as U.S. soldiers, patrolling the desert in an armored Humvee. Then again, with its quick-cut montages of various deities and despots, perhaps the video is less about the physical act of war as it is the men who wage it — or, alternately, rail against it. As Jared Leto told MTV News last year, the clip and the song are about “the inevitability of conflict, the blessing of conflict and what we can all learn from it.” It seems that, no matter how inhumane the outcome, humankind is practically predestined for war — a fact that roughly 2,000 years of our existence has sadly proven time and time again. So rather than just come right out and say that war is bad — since, you know, duh — 30 Seconds to Mars try their very best to explore the various facets of the concept: the men and women who lead us to conflict and those who attempt to halt that march. It’s a tact they applied to the notion of sex in their “Hurricane” video , only here, they’re much subtler (as subtle as a war video with flying tanks can be, of course). But since a complete investigation of humanity’s foibles would take a lot longer to complete than the six minutes 30STM have to work with in “This Is War,” they basically leave their findings up to the viewer. When the pile of tanks and battleships at clip’s end transforms into a massive pyramid, the meaning isn’t readily apparent: There seems to be some sort of extraterrestrial force at play here, or perhaps it’s just the overwhelming good nature of humankind willing the event to happen. The image is clearly meant to provoke, but does it also provoke thought ? Ultimately, that’s up to you. Though, it bears mention that much like conflict itself, thought is a decidedly human condition. And it’s also more powerful than any bomb could ever be.
