Cenk Suggests The 70% Of Americans Who Oppose Ground Zero Mosque Are ‘Ignorant’

Different host, same liberal bias . . . Subbing for Ed Schultz on MSNBC this evening, Cenk Ugyur suggested that the roughly 70% of Americans who oppose the Ground Zero mosque are “ignorant.”  Ugyur was debating the mosque matter with Republican strategist and former Newt staffer David Winston.  Winston suggested that the people behind the mosque could, in light of the overwhelming oppposition of Americans to the plan, show sensitivity by agreeing to site it elsewhere. That provoked Cenk’s snide insult, which, as you’ll see, actually revealed his own lack of knowledge on the subject . . . DAVID WINSTON: What I’m saying is, 70% of this country doesn’t like this idea. There’s a unique opportunity for Muslims to show, look, we understand Americans have difficulty with this, and we’re willing to have, to move somewhere else.  There’s just a sense of like, look, if we’re going to cooperate and get along, and things are going to work, people are going to have to understand the concerns that other folks have — CENK UGYUR: So you’re saying, you’re saying two things from what I’m hearing. One is, if 70% of the country is ignorant, we should back that up. If they don’t know the Constitution or they think Muslims are the same as al Qaeda, we should back that up.  Cenk suggests that those “ignorant” Americans “don’t know the Constitution.”  But if he had taken the time to inform himself of the poll question that CNN had put to people, and which generated the overwhelming response, he would have found that it read [emphasis added]: “As you may know, a group of Muslims in the U.S. plan to build a mosque two blocks from the site in New York City where the World Trade Center used to stand. Do you favor or oppose this plan? ” So that 70% [68% to be precise] weren’t asked, and weren’t opining, that they thought Muslims didn’t have a right to build the mosque. They were simply expressing their personal opinion to the effect that they “oppose the plan.”  And that is their constitutional right.  So who’s ignorant now?

Once Again, ‘Many Peaceful’ = ‘Some Violent’ When It Comes to Leftist Protesters in the NY Times

Violent protesters set fire to police cars and shattered store-front windows at the Group of 20 economic summit in Toronto this weekend. How did the New York Times, so skittish about the hypothetical threat of non-existent Tea Party violence from the right, react to actual violence committed by political protesters by the left-wing and anarchist groups? With more snort-worthy apologias for left-wing protesters being overwhelmingly “peaceful” in numerical terms Reporter Randal Archibold made a similar claim in his April 24 story from Phoenix at a protest against Arizona’s anti-immigration law, claiming that “hundreds of demonstrators massed, mostly peacefully, at the capitol plaza.” Local news in Phoenix reported three people were arrested during the immigration rally, including two seen throwing water bottles at police, and videos showed more lawlessness on display. The same defensive tone is present in Monday’s Business section story from Toronto, with the ludicrous headline ” Police in Toronto Criticized for Treatment of Protesters, Many Peaceful ,” by Ian Austen. Austen’s story is illustrated with a photo from the European Pressphoto Agency showing two policemen arresting a woman, but not photos shown elsewhere of burning cars, like the Associated Press photo by Frank Gunn above. Austen managed to fault the police both for initial passivity and subsequent overreaction: An escalation of aggressive police tactics toward even apparently peaceful protests at the Group of 20 summit meeting led to calls for a review of security activities . After allowing a small group of people to burn police cars and smash windows unimpeded on Saturday afternoon, many of the 20,000 police officers deployed in Toronto changed tactics that evening and during the last day of the gathering. There was a notable increase in both the numbers of police officers who surrounded demonstrations as well as more use of tear gas and rubber or plastic bullets. At the same time, there was a visible drop in the number of demonstrators in the city streets. As a result, the violence by some demonstrators that marred the opening of the Group of 20 meeting did not reappear on Sunday, and more than 600 people were arrested Saturday and Sunday. The Times seemed to miss the obvious connection: More police and more arrests = less crime. It’s one the Times has missed before, most notoriously in this headline from September 28, 1997: ” Crime Keeps On Falling; but Prisons Keep On Filling .” Unlike Archibold’s Arizona coverage, Austen didn’t ignore the violence on display in Toronto, though he did offer the same ludicrous apologia to this group of left-wing protesters that Archibold did to the ones in Arizona, writing that ” the overwhelming majority…were peaceful .” The violence was not exceptional compared with problems at previous international meetings, like the World Trade Organization’s gathering in Seattle in 1999 . Toronto’s shopping district sustained the greatest damage but quickly became something of a tourist attraction. But it was nevertheless extraordinary for Toronto, a city with little history of violent protests. David Miller, the city’s mayor, was among the many who swiftly condemned it. “Does today send signals about Toronto that I wish weren’t sent?” he said on Saturday evening. “Absolutely.” …. William Blair, the city’s police chief, did not respond directly to the widespread criticism over the lack of police response during the period of violence. But at a news conference, he suggested that officers were deliberately held back. The protesters, the overwhelming majority of whom were peaceful , promoted a variety of causes. Many were challenging the legitimacy of the Group of 20 and proposing that governments work through the United Nations. Others championed specific issues, particularly in relation to human rights and the environment.

Why Is the Democratic-Media Complex Hiding this Photo?

Texas Democrat Kesha Rogers campaigned for for Congress with Obama-Hitler signs. The signs even have the tag- “Paid For By Kesha Rogers for Congress” – on the bottom. But, the state-run media won’t run this photo. They won’t publish this photo because it doesn’t fit their narrative. Remember last year when the Democratic-Media Complex reported that the tea party protesters were waving Obama-Hitler signs? What the media purposely omitted from their stories was the fact that the protesters waving these astroturfed Obama-Hitler signs were radical left-wing extremists. They were radical activists from the LaRouche organization. But, this didn’t fit the state-run media’s narrative that tea party activists were radicals and racists so they omitted this from their reports. Earlier this year, the corrupt media and prominent democrats continued to smear tea party activists by reporting that the conservative protesters on Capitol Hill harassed Black Caucus members, called them the n-word, and spit at these Dems as they paraded though the tea party crowd on their way to ram nationalized health care through Congress. This was a lie. It never happened, as video later revealed. However, the corrupt national media never retracted their story nor did they apologize despite the overwhelming amount of evidence that proved their racist accusations were a complete fiction. That’s why the media won’t show this photo of Democrat Kesha Rogers. It doesn’t fit their narrative. Kesha won her primary last week. This Texas Democrat wants to impeach Obama and “take our troops out of the war zone and put them into space.” This makes about as much sense as the Obama-Pelosi “spend your way to wealth” plan, only not as dangerous. Don’t look for the media to give this Texas loon much attention in the months ahead. http://beforeitsnews.com/news/84/614/Why_Is_the_Democratic-Media_Complex_Hiding_… added by: TomTucker

‘Eclipse’ Stars Dish On Fame, Robots And Beef Patties On ‘Oprah’

‘It’s almost like you live in two different worlds,’ Taylor Lautner says of balancing real life with celebrity. By Jocelyn Vena Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” Photo: Harpo Among the hot topics when the “Eclipse” cast stopped by “The Oprah Winfrey Show” on Thursday (May 13) was Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s rumored romance, Taylor Lautner’s love life and Pattinson’s onetime desire to be a rapper . The trio also dished on their overwhelming fame. “This means a lot to you guys, and it’s the same deal for me,” Stewart told the Twilighter-filled audience. “I understand that your words have weight, and I mince them when I know everybody’s waiting for them. … Most people’s favorite book is not a part of their lives. It’s never going to happen again.” “We’ve been sort of central to the whole thing since the beginning,” Pattinson added. “It started, really, when no one knew anything about it. I still, to this day, can’t really connect to the craziness, and it’s a great position to be in. You walk in a room and everybody’s screaming, and it’s not really about you, so it never really goes to your head. You can kind of participate in it.” Regarding his position on the Time 100 Most Influential People list , he joked, “It’s completely ridiculous. A few years ago, I wouldn’t be able to influence my dog to walk!” The “Eclipse” crew let loose on the show, especially when Lautner was talking about bulking up to play Jacob. “I basically ate a lot, as much as I could,” he said. “If I was busy or if I was on set or I was in L.A. in meetings, I would have to carry around this little miniature cooler. I would carry around, like, beef patties. … It’s so weird,” he laughed. “I’ll be, like, talking to somebody, and all of a sudden, I’ll just be like: ‘Can you hold on one second? I’ve got to eat a beef patty.’ ” When co-star Dakota Fanning stopped by, she revealed what girls in her little sister’s school are up to these days. “My sister is 12, and she and her best friend are obsessed with everything [‘Twilight’],” Dakota said of fellow actress Elle. “They have the cutouts of Rob and Taylor. They’re actually making a robot at school, and they named it ‘Rob-ot Pattinson.’ ” The cast knows how much the films mean to the fans, and they said they are still trying to figure out how to balance their real lives with fame. “It’s almost like you live in two different worlds,” Lautner said. “You go into that world, and then you completely vanish, and you go back to your regular life.” What did you think of the “Eclipse” episode of “Oprah”? Demi Moore: ‘I have had something done but it’s not on my face’

A few days ago, Demi admitted that she had an extreme obsession with her body – and today, we get further details, this time regarding her attitude towards plastic surgery.
