Not unlike when she ran for V.P., Sarah Palin finished second this weekend in an Iowa half-marathon. Unlike the ’08 election, though, second place is impressive! Conveniently vague on whether she’s running for president , basking in attention without having to do any real campaigning, she was fully committed to this run. She finished second among women 40-49 with a respectable time of 1:46.10 in the Storm Lake, Iowa, event. That’s just over eight minutes a mile for 13 miles! Sarah Palin actually did some legwork! A tweet from Palin mentioned the run: “Thank you, Storm Lake, Iowa. You put on a great event & we loved meeting some great folks in your beautiful town today!” She did not announce her intention to run prior to the event, though, and competed under her maiden name , Sarah Heath, listing her residence as Des Moines.
