He may have come close to breaking Rihanna’s jaw a few years ago, but those affiliated with Chris Brown swear: The singer did not break any laws last week when he crashed his Range Rover into a Mercedes. There was no major damage to either vehicle, but Brown remains on probation for the bludgeoning of his ex-girlfriend, meaning any slip-up could land him behind bars. And a new report alleges that the artist failed to provide proper driver’s license and insurance information to the woman involved in the accident, adding that the LAPD would like to discuss the incident with Brown . But insiders now tell TMZ no members of law enforcement have tried to contact the star. Moreover, he was cooperative at the scene of the crash and his attorney even tried calling the victim soon afterward to ensure she had all she needed… but she hung up on him. All subsequent calls, Brown’s team says , have gone unanswered. No word directly from the Team Breezy Captain just yet, but he’s been busy. Brown spent yesterday at the Palms Pool & Bungalows at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, surrounded by fans, groupies and Karrueche Tran .
About that really clear statement Seal made this weekend? When he obviously accused Heidi Klum of cheating on him with bodyguard Martin Kristen ? He’d like to take it back, thanks. After telling TMZ he wished his ex-wife would have “at least waited until we separated first before deciding to fornicate with the help” and adding that the press has the answer it’s “been looking for” regarding his split with the super model, the singer has now released a new statement through his rep. It reads: “Seal would like to clarify that he was not implying his wife was cheating while they were together, but he was merely pointing out that their separation and divorce are not yet final and they are indeed still legally married.” It’s unclear how a separation must be finalized, but, hey this is really none of our business. Klum, meanwhile, also released a rebuttal through a rep that states: “It is sad that Seal has to resort to this kind of behavior and spread these untruths about the mother of his children.” For the sake of those children, four of them, let’s hope the estranged couple calls for a media ceasefire starting… right… NOW.
We finally get a glimpse of singer/actress’ final performance. By Fallon Prinzivalli Whitney Houston in “Sparkle” Photo: Sony Pictures The trailer for Whitney Houston ‘s “Sparkle” debuted Monday (April 2), giving fans a sneak peek at the singer/actress’ final performance. The first glimpse of Houston in the trailer shows her character, Emma, dancing to the Motown music her daughters are playing in the living room, sung by one Cee Lo Green. Houston jokes, “Yeah, y’all like that, huh? Makes you want to dance, huh? I’m going to get it and you will too. Keep dancing like that, you’ll bring home some kid you can’t feed.” The humor continues as her daughters jump into bed together to hide from Emma after arriving home after their curfew. “My babies,” she says. “I know y’all don’t love each other that much.” As the trailer progresses, the comedy dims and the weight of fame takes its toll. On the precipice of getting a record deal, Emma is hesitant to let her daughters pursue music as a career. She says, “Was my life not enough of a cautionary tale for you?” And while the sisters cope with the spotlight, one deals with an abusive marriage that may force her to abandon her dream. The trailer shows a preview of a performance that will leave fans amazed, while at the same time feeling the great loss the music industry suffered with Houston’s death. Co-star Derek Luke shared his thoughts on Houston’s last performance when MTV News spoke to him at the Independent Spirit Awards. “The beautiful thing about being in ‘Sparkle’ is that we had something that was recorded that I can hold onto, and in that time, me and my wife and Whitney … the other cast, we really bonded,” he said of working with the star. “Whitney did an amazing job, so I can’t wait for people to see it and there’s no great way to go out, but what a performance she had.” The movie centers on three talented sisters who deal with the struggles of fame after they form a musical group. Houston not only starred in the remake of the 1976 Irene Cara film, but was executive producer as well. “It was definitely her baby,” Jordin Sparks told Entertainment Weekly about Houston’s role in “Sparkle.” Sparks stars as Sparkle Williams, the title role. “Even before she passed I wanted to be able to represent this movie in a way that would honor her and respect her, because she worked so hard on it. With her passing, it’s definitely been a lot more pressure.” From the looks of the trailer, she has nothing to be nervous about. We think Whitney Houston would’ve been very proud. “Sparkle” is scheduled to hit theaters on August 17. After rocking mtvU’s Spring Break at the Palms in Las Vegas, Sean reveals his G.O.O.D. Music mentor’s bold prediction. After all, Sean told MTV News his mentor, Kanye West , revealed he thinks the Finally Famous MC will eventually rank as the best rapper of all time. After rocking the Palms’ poolside stage with “Do It,” “Marvin & Chardonnay” and “Dance (A$$),” the Detroit MC told MTV News, “It’s just cool as hell, period, because I used to look at all the Spring Break performances when I was coming up. To be doing it myself, I can’t even be more thankful.” While his Palms party automatically ranked as Sean’s favorite, he also recalled an unforgettable run in Miami. “Besides this one, I went down to Miami one year,” Sean said. “Drinks, mixed with girls, mixed with Detroit players — that’s a crazy combo.” As far as how one might deal with those next-day hangovers, Big Sean advised, “Don’t worry about the morning after. It’ll make the night that much better.” For the hardworking G.O.O.D. Music rapper, we’re sure the break came in handy. Not only does he have the G.O.O.D. Music compilation dropping sometime this year, Sean is also planning to release his sophomore LP. “My album’s coming this summer. I can probably say at the latest at the end of August. I got Tyga on there. I got, of course, ‘Ye on there,” he revealed. Earlier in the year, there was talk that ‘Jersey Shore’ star, Pauly D, would be signing to G-Unit Records. 50 Cent and the reality star made it official recently. 50 signed Pauly D to his dance and pop music imprint, G-Note Records. Describing Pauly D smart and creative, 50 Cent said he’s a “great addition to G-Note and [the] G-Unit family.” Pauly D is the first ‘Jersey Shore’ cast member to land a record deal and is also the first cast member to get his own spinoff show. Pauly D’s solo reality show will follow the DJ as he spins at celebrity parties and industry events and is scheduled to air sometime in 2012. For now, Pauly is finishing up a residency at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. Some might remember he opened for Britney Spears on her Femme Fatale tour. G-G-G-G-G-G-Unit! Pauly D is officially a member of 50 Cent’s G-Unit team. The Jersey Shore star/DJ has just been signed to the rapper’s G-Note record label, 50 confirmed on Twitter, adding a photo of the pair together. Pauly also chimed in about the deal: “Big Big Things In The Works @50cent And @DJPaulyD !!!!!” he Tweeted. “#yeahhhhbuddy” (A rep for G-Unit also confirmed the signing to MTV News .) Talk of a Pauly D/ 50 Cent collaboration has been floating around since the summer when the MTV reality star teased a joint album to Billboard. Said the man with the most talent of anyone in his MTV-sponsored house, not that this fact says very much: “I’m focusing on music. That’s my passion. I’m working with 50 Cent now. I’m gonna do an album with him. It’s going to be a little bit of everything. It’s almost like DJ Khaled and kind of David Guetta but my own DJ Pauly D style.” This deal with Fiddy is merely Pauly’s next step in an ever-growing empire. His brand also includes a residency at Las Vegas nightclub Rain at the Palms Resort and Casino. Heck, the tall-haired reality star even opened for Britney Spears on her Femme Fatale Tour this summer and may join her again at her December 10 concert, the final stop on her world tour.
