Kate Gosselin is long gone after five painful weeks. Jake Pavelka needs some help in this popularity contest. Pamela Anderson can’t get any love despite strong performances. Who do you like to go all the way on Dancing with the Stars, which is all new tonight? The field has been narrowed to seven, with the pretenders basically out. The Dancing celebs that remain have showed at least some competence. While some have shined more than others, it’s still anybody’s game … Can anyone derail the Nicole Scherzinger express? While Nicole and Derek Hough, and Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya, remain heavy favorites, there’s still time for another couple to mount a challenge. Or at least mount each other, in the case of Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, or Cheryl Burke and Chad Ochocinco , according to the rumor mill. Pamela Anderson has revealed her dream movie role – to be a Bond girl. The Baywatch beauty said she would love to star alongside spy 007. “Wouldn’t that be great? I could check that off ‘the list’ if it happened. I’m going to start preparing for that possibility.” Um, sorry Pam, maybe 20 years ago.

Ashley Dupre : I was young, I was stupid, and I’ve made a lot of mistakes. Going back to the profession after being out for 11 months (before I got caught) was the hardest thing that I’d ever had to do up until that point. I was in a relationship during those 11 months, which helped me learn self worth and self respect. I had dreams and goals and I was living a normal life during that time. When the man I was dating left me after 11 months, he left me with debt and responsibilities above my means. In order for me to be able to pay off my debt and move out of my apt I had to go back to work for a little bit. At that moment, I felt like I had too much self respect to return to that line of work, so it was hard for me to go back. I felt like I was above that. But I had to. So I did. Do I feel bad about what I was doing?

American Idol Gives Back, Eliminates Tim Urban

The smile-filled journey of Tim Urban came to an end last night, as American Idol viewers voted this finalist off the show. The elimination didn’t come as a shock, giving Tim’s lackluster performance of “Better Days” on Tuesday, but the man that joined Urban in the bottom two may have surprised many: Casey James was finally punished for his lack of creativity on a weekly basis. As for the two-hour broadcast itself, Idol Gives Back is always an impressive event. It brings numerous A-listers together in the name of such charities as Save the Children. Among this year’s highlights: Wanda Sykes doing a stand-up routine in which she questioned the cruelty of making eliminated contestants sing the same song for which they were voted out. Mary J. Blige singing “Stairway to Heaven” with Randy Jackson on the guitar. A reunion of the top 12 stage on stage, as seen below. Annie Lennox taping a segment about an HIV-positive girl in Africa.

No Respect: Giving Pamela Anderson Her Due on Dancing with the Stars

Dancing with the Stars voters got it right this week. Anytime Bruno says a performance needs a postmortem, not a critique, it’s never a good sign. To that end, Kate Gosselin got the heave-ho she deserved. But joining her in the bottom two, and not for the first time this season, was Pamela Anderson – “two of our most talked-about celebrities” as Len put it. Is the same celebrity status that helped Kate last five weeks (five longer than earned) working against Pam, whose dancing has been more than solid? “I was shocked the first time it happened,” says host Tom Bergeron. “And then a friend said, ‘Not everyone is salivating over her the way you are, Tom.’” What he means is, Dancing with the Stars viewership skews towards women, and skews older. So perennial sex kitten Pam may be up against it here. Pam’s partner, Damian Whitewood, knows she’s an underdog for that reason. “Everyone likes to see someone fall down,” he told TV Guide . “I’m dancing with a bombshell, and she has got a lot to prove. But the truth is, she’s just like [women viewers]. She’s a mom. She’s out there running after her kids.” “But she wants to learn to dance and she’s really dedicated to it.” It shows. She may be a frequent celebrity gossip punchline, and searches for Pamela Anderson nude may forever trump her ballroom skills, but through five weeks, she’s demonstrated surprising aptitude and commitment. “She picks things up really quickly,” says Whitewood. “I throw things at her and if she doesn’t get it, she won’t stop until she does. The determination is there.” The cast loves Anderson, too, for her self-deprecating sense of humor. Quite unlike their reaction to ” Hate Gosselin ,” according to tabloid reports at least. Pam says she considers herself on a steep learning curve. Fair enough. But how about giving her some props next week if the scores warrant it, America? Here she is on her way to the Lakers game, making me feel like an inadequate male who wants nothing more than to suckle on her breast. I know that’s weird but I live in my mom’s basement so can you blame me.

Yep. Last night, America curtailed its instinct to prolong Kate Gosselin’s unending grief on Dancing with the Stars and rendered her an octogoner. Sad. I mean, not really. You know what was sad, though? A hateful trend that is developing in this competition — one that has nothing to do with Bruno Tonioli’s overstimulated aorta .

And yes, we know shouldn’t be surprised by what the Baywatch babe wears anymore but we are, deal with it.

Pamela Anderson Is Working On Her Tax Problems

Pamela Anderson has finally discussed her tax troubles, speaking with TV show Access Hollywood about the reported $493,000 in income tax she owed. “I take full responsibility and I’m working it all out as best I can. I hate to owe anybody anything. It’s driving me crazy, but I’m doing everything I can to solve all that. You know that’s been going on for a while, but it got picked up because when you’re in the press I guess they dig around and try and find some dirt. I’m doing everything I can, obviously that’s really important to me.” Anderson took to Twitter last week to address her financial woes, writing: “I’m not trying to avoid any tax obligation. Certain events occurred, outside of my control which caused this temporary but embarrassing situation. All of my tax obligations will be resolved in the very near future. Love Pamela.”

Pamela Anderson Wants You To ‘Wakey Wakey’

Pamela Anderson is launching her own alarm clock iPhone app so fans can wake up with her every morning. The former Baywatch star, 42, appears in a new video alarm clock app called Wakey Wakey. Anderson starts off speaking to users of the app to wake them up before images of the star in Agent Provocateur lingerie appear on the screen. She then continues to murmur sweet nothings.
