A six-year-old St. Louis girl, Maliyah Palmer was shot in the head last Friday and died after the brother accidentally shot her with their parents’ 9mm handgun. According to reports for The Daily Mail , the brother, 12, discovered the weapon in his the dresser in his parents’ bedroom before shooting his sister. Their mom and dad were reportedly at a Christmas party at the time of the incident. After being accidentally shot in the back of the head, the first-grader later died in the hospital. Reports say the kids were both under the supervision of their 16-year-old sister while Dwandra and Marius Palmer, were out at the holiday party, according to the St Louis Post-Dispatch . An initial press release from Florissant police stated that the shooting was a ‘tragic accident’ and no charges will be filed. Marius Palmer posted that Maliyah’s funeral will be held on Friday. Matt Cox said his 10-year old daughter came home one day and said “daddy you have to drive me to school next week.” But instead the wise dad thought he’d teach her a lesson by making her walk 5 miles to school the next day in 36 degree weather. He said in the video, “A lot of the children feel today that the things their parents do for them is a right and not a privilege. Such as, taking their children to school in the morning or even bus rides to school in the morning, All of that is a privilege and should be treated as such. So today, my beautiful daughter is going to walk five miles to school in 36-degree weather.” In just a matter of a couple of days, the video already has 21 million views. The son of ex-spouses and TLC co-stars Jon and Kate has been enrolled in a program away from home for children with special needs. To their credit, probably, neither Jon nor Kate ever really got into detail about what was troubling Collin or exactly where he has been spending all his time. But while it was admirable that the parents respected their son’s privacy, this same privacy led to a million questions about Collin around the Internet. Especially when he was absent from his very own birthday party last year. But Jon Gosselin, who really does seem like he’s trying to rebuild his relationships with his children, surprised Instagram followers on Sunday by sharing a picture of himself, daughter Hannah and, yes, Collin. The image featured all three loved ones outside of Jon’s residence in Reading, Pennsylvania and the simple caption read as follows: “Had a good weekend visit with Collin at home!” As you can see above, Collin looked happy and healthy as he donned a cute red message tee shirt that referenced his home town and read: “Just a kid from Reading.” Jon, of course, shares Collin and Hannah – as well as remaining sextuplets Leah, Alexis, Joel and Aaden – with ex-wife Kate Gosselin.
