Nick Stahl was placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold, a la Britney Spears and Paris Jackson , last night after being taken to an L.A. hospital, TMZ reports. Stahl, whose long struggle with drugs, alcohol, and other personal issues rivals that of Eddie Furlong , was transported to the facility around 3:30 a.m. Details about circumstances of why he was hospitalized and placed on psychiatric hold are unclear at this time, but it’s clearly a sad spiral for Nick Stahl . He recently said he was committed to turning his life around, too, after he went missing, went to rehab, went missing again and was arrested for a lewd act. Here’s hoping he gets it together … this time.
The Michael Jackson wrongful death trial is in full swing, and it looks like defendant/concert promoting giant AEG Live actually stands a chance of losing. Michael’s mother and his children’s guardian, Katherine Jackson, have made a bold effort to convince a jury AEG Live was negligent, TMZ reports. Randy Phillips, the head of the company, had trouble explaining why he thought MJ ” looked really good ” in a meeting just five days before his death. A photograph of the entertainer taken a day before – June 19, 2009 – clearly showed otherwise, with a smiling Jackson looking noticeably gaunt and pale. Kenny Ortega and others testifying that they were alarmed over MJ’s health as AEG and Dr. Conrad Murray ignored them has also provd compelling. In the days preceding his death, Jackson missed rehearsals and was sweating profusely. He also seemed out of it, saying ” God keeps talking to me .” As for how Phillips reconciled his comment about Jackson with other evidence, he said, “I was confused as anybody.” Not exactly a convincing argument. Experts believed AEG would and could make the case that they felt Jackson being properly cared for by Murray, who MJ is said to have hand-picked. In other words, the explanation that Jackson knew what he was getting into and AEG can’t be held responsible for his recklessness seemed airtight. Or not. Lawyers for Katherine Jackson and the children (Blanket, Prince and Paris Jackson ) may have the upper hand in the trial up to this point. They key: If a jury believes AEG unreasonably pushed Michael to perform when they knew he wasn’t up for it, or if they ignored possible warning signs. The family is seeking tens of BILLIONS of dollars in damages resulting from the death of Michael Jackson, which tragically occurred June 25, 2009.

According to Think Progress: As the murder trial for George Zimmerman begins, his father has released an emotional and highly unusual e-book, publicly opining on all aspects of the case. The book by Robert Zimmerman Sr., called “Florida v. Zimmerman: Uncovering the Malicious Prosecution of my Son, George” was released today on Amazon for $3.99. The most striking chapter is called “Who Are The True Racists,” an apparent effort to rebut claims that his son’s actions were racially motivated. Previously, Zimmerman Sr. “believed generally racism was a thing of the past.” He says that, personally, he hadn’t encountered much racism, even though his wife is Hispanic. But after his son shot and killed Trayvon Martin, however, Zimmerman learned that racism is “flourishing at the insistence of some in the African American Community.” He then goes on to list various black leaders and organizations that he believes are racist: Congressional Black Caucus. “[A] pathetic, self-serving group of racists… advancing their purely racist agenda.” He later adds that “all members of Congress should be ashamed of the Congressional Black Caucus, as should be their constituents.” And finally: “They are truly a disgrace to all Americans.” The NAACP. “[S]imply promotes racism and hatred for their own, primarily finical, interests” and “without prejudice and racial divide, the NAACP would simply cease to exist.” NAACP President Benjamin Jealous. “[W]hat I would expect of a racist.” Trayvon Martin’s funeral director. While stopping short of explicitly calling President Obama a racist, Zimmerman Sr. does say that Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder have “shamelessly” sought to exploit his son’s case “to obtain great advantage in the African-American community.” Zimmerman Sr. says that because of Holder’s decision to investigate whether Trayvon Martin’s death violated federal civil rights laws, the FBI did not have “adequate resources to investigate clearly identified potential terrorist [sic] in the Boston area.” Now, “tragically, we have suffered the consequences of Mr. Holder’s politically motivated decisions.” Really, guy??? Sources connected to the family tell TMZ … Paris — who is currently at UCLA Medical Center after cutting herself with a knife and downing 20 Motrin — thinks Justin is a terrible role model for young girls. She was enraged after some of Justin’s female fans started tweeting about cutting themselves as an expression of love for the singer and he went radio silent, rather than talking the girls out of it. We’re told Paris got very angry after seeing the pics TMZ posted of Justin smoking weed in a hotel room in early January. She thinks he owes his fans more as a role model. Paris — who lives in Justin’s Calabasas gated community — thinks Justin’s various missteps in the hood are “a disgrace.” The word “hate” was used very clearly to describe Paris’ feelings toward JB. Debbie Rowe is not feuding with the Jackson family and is not planning to wrestle away legal guardianship of Paris Jackson , despite reports to the contrary. Unless the situation changes drastically, she will make no such overtures, because she has too much respect for Michael’s wishes, his mother and his kids. She’d be willing to step in under certain circumstances, but it’s not her wish. Rowe doesn’t want to split up MJ’s three children (two of whom she is the biological mother of) and “likes and respects” Katherine Jackson, their grandmother. This is all way too logical and clear-headed for a Jackson family article. Debbie is also said to be a big fan of TJ Jackson, Michael’s nephew and the children’s co-guardian, though she worries he has too much on his plate. He has a family of his own to care for on top of Michael’s kids, so that’s a real concern, though for the moment there is no imminent change coming. As for Debbie Rowe and Paris’ relationship, she calls Debbie “Mom” and they behave as mother and daughter – with Debbie the unquestioned boss. According to sources cited by TMZ, she is often “laying down the law” and not afraid to show her little girl tough love when she feels it’s necessary. While Paris Jackson is welcome to stay and live with her, Debbie doesn’t want to split her up from Prince and Blanket, her older and younger brothers. The latter, in particular, is vulnerable and feels abandoned. All sounds like she’s thought this through carefully and with the best of intentions, which makes one wonder why there is such backlash against her. Paris Jackson’s mom Debbie Rowe is back in the news amid speculation that she may seek control of the troubled teen, though sources say this is premature. Rowe, who was forging a close bond with her daughter before her suicide attempt (the Paris Jackson 911 call was released today), is not angling to take over. While she is planning to host Paris at her California horse farm this summer, she does not want to oust her grandmother, Katherine Jackson, in any way. “It would take Katherine dying or becoming very ill for Debbie to seek legal guardianship ,” said a source, despite reports of animosity with the family . Only if the judge makes a dramatic decision to strip Katherine of custody AND Paris wanted her to step in, then Rowe would be ready to do so. Paris could even live with Rowe indefinitely and “it still wouldn’t change the legal guardianship” situation, the source insisted, nor does it have to. “Katherine isn’t giving up the role because she feels it would let Michael down, and Debbie has too much respect for Katherine and Michael to fight her.” Would Rowe as guardian be in Paris’ best interest, though?
