Katherine Heigl Broke? Actress Needs $150K in Donations to Fund New Movie

Katherine Heigl’s career is not what it used to be. The actress is set to star in the independent film Jenny’s Wedding … provided it can get funding. Producers for the Mary Agnes Donoghue-directed project have created an Indiegogo campaign, asking for donations to reach a goal of $150,000. “How’s the funding going?” TMZ asked the former Grey’s Anatomy star. “If your movie doesn’t getting the funding … would you be willing to fill in the extra amount?” “I haven’t made that much in the last few years, man,” said Heigl, who has two little kids with her husband Josh Kelley. “I gotta support my family.” According to the San Francisco-based crowdfunding site, Katherine’s would-be film has only raised $32,311 so far since it started on February 11. While many sources have jumped on that comment as evidence that Heigl is having financial problems, that’s probably unlikely, given her resume. Back in September, multiple film and TV insiders told the Hollywood Reporter that Heigl earned $12 million for her role in 2010’s Life as We Know It . Of course, she’s also been blacklisted by TV and movie industry insiders over her diva-like behavior, so who knows how little she’s made since. Heigl has finished shooting Jenny’s Wedding , which tells the story of Jenny Farrell (Heigl), who tells her conservative family that she’s a lesbian. She plans on marrying her roommate, Kitty (Alexis Bledel). Hey, If there’s celebrity girl-on-girl action , maybe she could use that as a crowdfunding selling point? It wouldn’t hurt, K-Heigs. Chris Kattan Arrested for DUI

Chris Kattan now has something in common with Justin Bieber . Aside from each being unfunny on Saturday Night Live. The actor was arrested this morning on suspicion of DUI after his car hit another vehicle around 1 a.m. on the 101 in San Fernando Valley. According to TMZ insiders, another driver called the California Highway Patrol to report a motorist was “weaving all over the roadway at slow speeds” before Kattan reportedly swerved into a closed-off area and stuck a Department of Transportation vehicle from behind. Fortunately, there was no one inside and Kattan did not suffer any injuries. Police confirm that Kattan appeared very out of it at the scene and was booked on charges of driving while impaired, with an emphasis on prescription pills, not alcohol. Woman Gets 20 Months in Jail for Trolling Herself on Facebook

Some trolls end up under bridges, some trolls end up in jail for not covering their digital tracks. A British woman angry with her father and step-mother set up fake Facebook accounts in their names and then used the accounts to send herself abusive – and often explicit – messages. 24-year-old Michelle Chapman kept up the posts for more than a year and then reported them to the police. Authorities questioned her puzzled family and even detained her step-mother before tracing the accounts back to Chapman’s own computer. Officers report she was seeking revenge on her father for past grievances and was trying to break up his marriage. Her defense attorney argued Chapman suffers from mental health problems, but that didn’t prevent the court from sentencing her to 20 months in jail. Ashley Wagner: The New McKayla Maroney?

Ashley Wagner’s figure skating short program was hot but the judges scores left her cold. The 22-year-old American skater did a little shimmy with joy as she took her bows on the ice, confident her performance was excellent. But when she saw her score – a 63.10 – she couldn’t hide her disappointment. Like, at all. Wagner’s shocked face quickly became the Sochi Olympics version of McKayla Maroney’s “not impressed” face from the 2012 Summer Olympics. “Bullsh*t”, she mouthed to her teammates, although she later amended her statement to “To score that low was very disappointing to me,” when she spoke to reporters. The score put Wagner in fourth place but it was good enough to advance the U.S. to the next round, where they ended up with a bronze medal in team skating. Police Officer Investigated For Trying to Snap Justin Bieber Jailhouse Pic

A South Florida officer is under investigation after attempting to take a photo of Justin Bieber while the star was in custody on DUI and other charges. Miami Beach police Sgt. Bobby Hernandez confirmed Friday that a female officer is being investigated for possible conduct unbecoming an officer. Punishments can range from a verbal reprimand to termination. The name of the officer trying to sneak a Justin Bieber photo has not been revealed. Bieber was arrested January 23 during what cops describe as an illegal street drag race, though whether he was actually drug racing is debatable. In addition to driving under the influence, the troubled 19-year-old pop singer was charged with resisting arrest and having an invalid driver’s license. Bieber, who was in a car with Chantel Jeffries , pleaded not guilty to all charges. Police say the officer attempted to photograph him while he was in a temporary holding cell, and a higher-ranking officer intervened to stop the attempt. Justin Bieber to Be Arraigned on Valentine’s Day

February 14 will not mean chocolate, teddy bears and hand-holding for Justin Bieber. Not this year. The South Florida legal system has set Valentine’s Day as the singer’s arraignment date. He will answer to charges of DUI , resisting arrest and driving with an expired license on that date. Justin Bieber Arrested “Justin doesn’t have to be there,” says Ed Griffith, a Miami state attorney’s office spokesman. “He will plead not guilty and the process will begin.” The 19-year old star is currently on vacation with friends (and Chantel Jeffries !) in Panama and will have his case heard by Miami-Dade Judge William Altfield in the County Criminal Division. Bieber (along with R&B singer Khalil Amir Sharieff) were booked on Thursday after allegedly drag racing on a residential street, although new reports claim they weren’t going THAT fast… nor were they legally drunk. But those are issues for a court to decide.
