What’s not to love about a short video insinuating something marvelous may be coming soon — especially if it means a hi-res screen on a tablet, à la that purported Retina Display we saw a few days back . We have to give ASUS credit for this one, as it’s teasing us with a clip titled “Twice the Detail, Twice the Fun.” The vid’s lead actors are a plethora of colorful marbles and a beige box that’s… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : Engadget Discovery Date : 23/02/2012 13:44 Number of articles : 3

The two-time Sexiest Man Alive landed his third Oscar nod for “Moneyball,” but he has yet to take home gold. By Kara Warner Brad Pitt in “Moneyball” Photo: Sony Pictures For all the swoons and sighs associated with any mention of Brad Pitt , the two-time Sexiest Man Alive has proved to be so much more than a pretty face. He’s a worldly, respected father of six and a highly successful, award-winning actor/producer who picked up his third Oscar nomination for acting this year for his portrayal of beloved Oakland A’s general manager Billy Beane in “Moneyball.” Pitt is nominated for Best Actor, going head-to-head with best buddy George Clooney (“The Descendants”), Jean Dujardin (“The Artist”), Demi
Manufactured Superstars single features the heiress’ spoken word over an electro-house beat. By Elizabeth Lancaster Paris Hilton Photo: Getty Images Staying true to her roots, Paris Hilton is speaking to party girls everywhere in the new Manufactured Superstars single “Drunk Text.” “Drunk Text” dropped with an accompanying video Thursday (February 23), featuring an electro-house beat under the socialite’s spoken word. As for the lyrics, Paris narrates a modern clubgoer’s inner-monologue, highlighting key partying moments like dancing, taking shots and, you guessed it, drunk texting. The most attention-grabbing element of the video is Hilton herself. Focusing mostly on her red-lipstick-stained mouth speaking the words to the song, the camera also occasionally pans to the songstress relaxing in various locations throughout the club in a stunning-yet-suggestive black dress. This is a major transition from her bikini-clad “Stars Are Blind” music video , channeling a chic and erotic energy for the more risqu

Joseph Kahn’s Detention had me from its first knowingly self-aware trailer, and while word out of SXSW was polarizing — a love it or hate it kind of deal, by many accounts — it’s one of my more anticipated films of the spring. True, the competition this season isn’t too stiff, but still! Watch Josh Hutcherson (of next months The Hunger Games , perhaps you’ve heard of it?) as a cute hipster kid get ready to take a beating from the school tough guy while an actual killer runs rampant through town and tell me this isn’t worth putting on the calendar for April. Here’s the film’s full trailer, to give you a sense of what we’re in for. Admittedly, the nonstop pop culture references schtick has been almost fully exhausted by now but good, clever high school comedies never get old. Call it Not Another Not Another Teen Movie , if you will/must. Adding to the intrigue: Detention was shot half a year before Hutcherson was cast as Peeta in The Hunger Games , so the timing of release here is obvious. Will Hunger Games fans flock to the R-rated horror comedy to see a new side of Hutcherson in what may be the edgiest/darkest/ballsiest project since he graduated from family flicks? Detention will be released in select theaters on April 13. [via Badass Digest ]
*: As determined by Movieline’s Institute For the Advanced Study of Kudos Forensics after crunching 23 weeks of data from the awards cognoscenti and beyond. Thank you for reading; our work here is done. The Final 9: 1. The Artist 2. The Help 3. The Descendants 4. Moneyball 5. Hugo 6. The Tree of Life 7. Midnight in Paris 8. The Daldry 9. War Horse What’s to say? The die was cast long ago, and unless all those old-ass , inactive white dudes who apparently make the Academy magic happen suddenly decide they want to recognize The Help (or come around on Moneyball a la some latecoming pundits or at least one old-ass, distaff counterpart ), then you might as well just plan to go out on Sunday night to take advantage of the quiet restaurants and/or grocery stores. (And maybe follow our livetweeting here if/when the urge strikes.) The Final 5: 1. Michel Hazanavicius, The Artist 2. Alexander Payne, The Descendants 3. Martin Scorsese, Hugo 4. Terrence Malick, The Tree of Life 5. Woody Allen, Midnight in Paris Did we ever settle on how many of these guys are actually going to show up to lose to Hazanavicius in person? The Final 5: 1. Viola Davis, The Help 1. Meryl Streep, The Iron Lady 3. Michelle Williams, My Week With Marilyn 4. Rooney Mara, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo 5. Glenn Close, Albert Nobbs Sasha Stone wrote a few days ago about the “general consensus” solidifying around some shakier frontrunners; Davis seems the most locked-in of that class. Anything could still happen this weekend, which is fine by me as long as it happens fast and we can get on with our lives. The Final 5: 1. Jean Dujardin, The Artist 2. George Clooney, The Descendants 3. Brad Pitt, Moneyball 4. Demi
Former Bachelorette star Ashley Hebert , who famously rejected Ben Flajnik, is trying to give Courtney Robertson the benefit of the doubt. She really is. But while Ash admits she didn’t find Court as despicable as usual on this week’s episode of The Bachelor, she’s totally calling her out for one thing: Ripping off her so-called heartfelt vows from Sex and the City! Courtney Robertson Hometown Date “First of all, I do have to say that Courtney’s ceremony was a little bit of a rip-off idea – because we did that on my season, with William,” recalls Hebert. “And she blatantly stole her vows from Sex and the City !” In their faux wedding, Courtney memorably told Ben, “I am looking for love. Real love. Passionate, consuming, can’t-live-without-each-other love.” Sarah Jessica Parker said, “I am someone who is looking for love. Real love. Ridiculous, inconvenient, consuming, can’t-live-without-each-other love.” Remember? To Mikhail Baryshnikov, from the series finale? When Carrie breaks it off with the Russian? Right before Big tracks her down in Paris? Anyway, Ashley Hebert is like the rest of us – flummoxed by Courtney. “There are some people I can read really well, but I can’t figure her out,” Hebert continued. “I’m trying to give her the benefit of the doubt!” “But I’m trying to figure out if she’s just trying to find a sweet way to tell him that she loves him, or if she’s just trying to move on to the next round.” “Is this forced? Is this real? I’m having a really hard time figuring it out.” You and us both, Ash. But Hebert, who turned down Ben’s proposal in preparation to accept J.P. Rosenbaum’s (they are still engaged), thinks it’s working. “You can see it in his face, ‘This is it.’ And he believes her,” she says. “If I were the other girls and I was watching this back, I would be so upset.” “He pretty much married Courtney, pretty much had sex with her when they went skinny-dipping. You know, it’s like, what a rip-off for the other girls.” “Especially if he doesn’t end up with Courtney!” For those fans who are shocked that he’s not going to end up with Kacie Boguskie , who was let go this week, Hebert says that she realized something. “I think Ben sees Kacie as a friend, not a lover,” she says. “I wish she had acted more like a woman, instead of a little girl, with the batons and the band.” And as for Kacie’s question – “What the f–k happened?!” – Hebert says simply that “Courtney happened. After knowing Ben. I think he will choose Courtney.” Click here to see what The Bachelor spoilers we’ve read say about that.
The Throne will kick off a 12-show European tour beginning May 20 in London. By Rob Markman Kanye West & Jay-Z Photo: Ethan Miller/Getty Images Jay-Z and Kanye West are about to get the people going again — this time overseas . International Hov and Martin Louis the King Jr. are taking their fan-favorite and critically acclaimed tour to Europe, where they recorded significant portions of their groundbreaking Watch the Throne LP. The 12-show run kicks off May 20 at the O2 Arena in London and runs through Switzerland, Norway, Germany and Belgium, ending on June 13. As far as when Jay and ‘Ye will be bringing their ubiquitous hit “N—as in Paris” to its point of inspiration, the duo will be holding down two shows on June 1 and June 2 at Paris Bercy. Jay and Kanye kicked off their WTT tour in October in Atlanta at the Phillips Arena. Noted for its unique set design with two rising pillars, the North American run of the tour found Hov and Yeezy bouncing off of each other perfectly, performing songs from both the Throne album and their individual catalogs. It was a gaudy display of hits that usually ended with the infectious “N—as in Paris” being performed multiple times — a record-breaking 11 times during their Vancouver stop.
