Headkrack mentioned this is a dope idea because we can see how Tommy, Tasha and Ghost developed a friendship and what all went down before he was arrested. 50 Cent wouldn’t play himself because it would be late 80’s early 90’s so they would have to cast a younger version of him. Expect The GOP To Go Into Overdrive Suppressing The Black Vote Ahead Of Election Day

R epublicans, increasingly worried about losing control of Congress, could rev up their ongoing voter suppression efforts in the final days before the 2018 midterm elections. See Also: What Every Black Voter Should Know If They Experience Suppression At The Polls A loss of expected momentum has the GOP scrambling for its political life, as the party tosses lifelines to House candidates in districts that President Trump won in 2016, the Washington Post reported. Republican strategists find themselves making tough choices about which struggling candidates to save and which ones to ignore. Political experts had long predicted that Democrats would retake the House. But after a series of political wins, the GOP saw a chance to stem the blue wave. However, Republicans now see their hope slipping away. In desperation, the Republicans could step up their voter suppression efforts in key races. With the early voting season underway, voter suppression incidents are increasing. Here's what you need to know to protect your rights… https://t.co/ai2nYZpky3 #RepresentTheVote pic.twitter.com/v95exYcVC1 — NewsOne (@newsone) October 25, 2018 Fresh off their victory in placing Judge Brett Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court, some Republican leaders, including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell , boasted that their base was fired up and ready to keep the party in power. There was indeed an upswing, but the momentum has fizzled, according to the Post. Added to that, Trump and his party face a surge of criticism and blame for inspiring the recent mail bomb attacks on prominent Democrats, as well as the mass shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue. Republicans are scrambling, using every trick in the book to retain control of Congress and state governments. Suppression efforts targeting Black voters have already been seen in Georgia , where Stacey Abrams could make history as the first African-American female governor. Voting rights advocates joined a lawsuit against Georgia election officials for the unusually high rate of absentee mail ballot rejects. On Monday, former President Jimmy Carter urged Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp to recuse himself from overseeing the state’s elections. Kemp is competing against Abrams for governor and has come under fire for alleged voter suppression. But Kemp continued to decline calls to step down. Voting rights groups are prepared for a surge in suppression efforts and urge voters to know their rights. Signs of voter intimidation include aggressive questioning about voting qualifications from poll workers and harassment that targets specific racial or ethnic groups, according to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). ‘LHHHS5’ Recap: Teairra Mari Owes Actual Revenge Porn Victims An Apology

Excerpt from:

Source: Jamie McCarthy / Getty Tonight’s episode of Love and Hip-Hop Hollywood is exhausting. It’s mostly about Teairra Mari’s drama with Akbar again. There’s an IG Live video that Akbar shot where he runs up on Teairra and hits her with a barrage of questions about why she’s trying to sue him but keeps coming back to see him at the same time. Teairra tells him that she wants him to go away. Then, his sister-wife, Alejandra, threatens her. Then we cut to Akbar’s house. Sade, his wife ,  wife stops by because she has been seeing all of he and Alejandra’s antics online and she doesn’t like it. She seems to have been away and Alejandra feels some type of way about that. The two of them start arguing and Akbar is just as cavalier he wants to be and tells Sade that he has everything under control and that he has been filming TT in order to undermine her lawsuit. He also warns her to stop trying to check Alejandra. This is clearly a messed up polygamous situation (Teairra admitted that she knew what the situation was when he asked her to get involved). Anyway, Sade has it in her mind that she’s also going to check Teairra. Next, we find out that RoccStar grew up with Teairra’s cousin. Said cousin calls RoccStar to ask him to look out for TT. RoccStar doesn’t really know Teairra like that but he got her back on the strength of her cousin being his homie. He meets up with her to figure out what’s going on and points out the obvious, which is that Akbar is only still having sex with her to game her into dropping the lawsuit and Teairra admits that she is dickmatized. Duh! She probably has an addictive personality and is replacing substances with Akbar. Despite how dumb TT looks, RoccStar still claims to have her back as long as she has her own back. In other news, Brooke and Marcus catch up with each other only for Marcus tell her how RoccStar and Solo Lucci confronted him about telling A1 what RoccStar said about allegedly sleeping with Lyrica. We all know that Brooke has been working with RoccStar on the song she stole from Moniece, so it doesn’t sit well with her when Marcus tells her to end all communication with RoccStar. It’s not that serious to Brooke and she plans to continue working with RoccStar anyway. Marcus even gives her the ultimatum that their engagement could be off if she moves forward with communication. We all know that thirsty Brooke is going to do what she wants. Of course, she agrees to co-host RoccStar’s album release party with Teairra. She and Teairra aren’t even on good terms, but they manage to keep it cute at the party. However, we all get nervous Sade shows up to confront TT. It doesn’t go totally left but none of this sits right with RoccStar, who is quite irritated by the fact that Sade even had the gall to come with some drama. Tearra decides to meet up with a new lawyer to figure out a new course of action with her lawsuit. Obviously, the lawyer tells her the same thing everyone else has said, she looks ridiculous and has weakened her case. How about we get a storyline where Teairra isn’t in rehab or looking stupid chasing after some trifling man? How about Teairra apologize to actual victims of revenge porn who truly weren’t aware of the situation? Finally, the episode concludes with RoccStar confronting Akbar. RoccStarr calls Akbar a b—h out the gate. They charge at each other but you know how good Love and Hip-Hop security is so they don’t get to fight. It turns into a roasting session instead and in the end, RoccStar says what he needs to say which is that Akbar needs to leave Teairra alone. Akbar tells RoccStar to tell Teairra to “Stop calling daddy” and that’s that. In the end, Teairra Mari owes actual victims of revenge porn an apology. She’s no victim. She’s a willing participant in this madness. It’s hard not to believe that she didn’t know what Akbar’s intentions were. Attention is a helluvadrug. Kappa Alpha Psi Hosted The Clemson University Party Where The Floor Collapsed

Continued here:

T he college homecoming party in South Carolina that ended catastrophically when the floor collapsed early Sunday morning was thrown by a Black fraternity, according to reports. Dozens were injured at the off-campus festivities hosted every year by the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity chapter at Clemson University. However, none of the injuries were reportedly life-threatening. The party was reportedly in full swing with people dancing to the music when the first floor of the clubhouse at The Woodlands of Clemson fell directly into the building’s basement level. “Posted unsafe structure” signs have been added to the #Woodlands clubhouse in #Clemson . Other than that, the scene remains unchanged from this morning. pic.twitter.com/eCWMZuq8dx — Mollie R. Simon (@mrsimon22) October 21, 2018 “We started jumping, and we just – boom! – all you seen was black,” Franzie Pendergrass, who was at the party and managed to record footage of the floor collapsing, told WYFF , the local NBC affiliate. At least 30 people were reported as being injured. “The beat was about to drop and literally the whole floor collapsed,” Larissa Stone, a Clemson sophomore, told the Greenville News . “It happened so quickly. I stood up, and everyone was trying to climb out. People are under other people. People are hurt. People are bleeding. I had blood on my sneakers. It was really bad.” While the Kappas threw the party – one that the historically Black fraternity hosts each year for homecoming, according to a Clemson official – it was doubtful that there were any laws the group violated. The party may have been filled to or beyond the clubhouse’s capacity – a figure that was not immediately reported – or the floor collapsing may have just been because of a structural issue with at the condominium complex, which was built in 2005. An email sent from condo management to its residents said there would be an inspection. “The Clubhouse and pool area is OFF LIMITS to all.  The clubhouse will be inspected by structural engineers as soon as possible,” the email said in part. “From there, the homeowners association will determine how to rebuild the clubhouse to make it safe for all residents. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those who were injured we and apologize for any inconvenience.” The Kappas are one of eight historically Black fraternities and sororities on the campus of Clemson. As of Sunday night, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. had not issued a statement on any of its social media channels or its official website . Clemson assured its affected students  that they would be given all the “support” they needed. Video of the floor collapsing spread quickly on social media. Watch the disturbing footage below at your own discretion. Republicans Are Using Every Racist Stereotype Imaginable For The Midterm Elections

Read this article:

A s Republicans increasingly find themselves backed into the corner of their inevitable, impending losses in the Midterm elections next month, GOP candidates seeking office and re-election alike have been increasingly resorting to the single platform that has been helping their party thrive: racism-based politics of fear. The onslaught of racist political ads flooding regional airwaves underscores Republicans’ desperation to cling to power. And while culturally tone-deaf and racially insensitive ads are nothing new — remember when a John McCain TV spot manipulated Obama’s skin color to make it look darker? — this latest crop has been especially and unabashedly disrespectful, using the most damaging stereotypes to depict or refer to Black people in particular. The latest example came from Arkansas, where a radio ad released in support of Republican Congressman French Hill was in theory supposed to appeal to Black voters. But in real life, the desired effect was anything but achieved when someone decided that using stereotypically sassy Black women’s voices speaking in a dialect often-mocked by non-Blacks was the right move. This is a real radio ad currently running in Arkansas in support of Republican Congressman French Hill on radio stations targeted to the African American community. I don't even have words to describe it. pic.twitter.com/vpzt1nGPlc — (((Ben Tribbett))) (@notlarrysabato) October 18, 2018 “Honey I always told my son, don’t be messing around with that,” one voice says of dating white women and the possible consequences of being lynched because of it, evoking damaging and false imagery of an eye-popping, neck-rolling Black woman with a hand on her hip. “If you get caught, she will cry rape.” While just a radio ad, anyone remotely familiar with Diamond and Silk would easily be forgiven for confusing the voices on the ad with the embarrassing duo of Black Trump supporters who have made a living from reinforcing the same stereotypes featured in the pro-Hill spot. @HawleyMO has an almost identical ad running on a radio station in Missouri. I heard it at the barbershop JUST LAST NIGHT and I couldn’t hear the name of who paid for it. Thank you for this. https://t.co/9cpIb9w7Ny — Fredrick Doss (@FredrickDoss) October 19, 2018 Not to be outdone, the National Republican Congressional Committee released an ad last month trying to reduce New York congressional candidate Antonio Delgado , who is Black, to a “big city rapper.” While Delgado has indeed been a rapper , he is also a Harvard Law School-trained former Rhodes Scholar , by the way, making him completely qualified for public office. To add insult to injury, the right-wing propaganda tabloid New York Post referred to Delgado as a “Rappin’ Dem” in its headline on Thursday. And let’s not forget about how the Republican Governor’s Association in August featured a pair of tap-dancing feet in an attack ad on Stacey Abrams , who is battling all types of voter suppression efforts while campaigning to become Georgia’s first Black governor. For the uninitiated, the controversial imagery surrounding Black people tap dancing is rooted in racist minstrel shows and doubles down on the stereotype that Black folks can only entertain white audiences. But, of course, most importantly, tap dancing has nothing to do with Abrams’ campaign, showing the low, deceptive measures Republicans don’t mind stooping to. Never mind how Abrams’ Republican opponent, who just happens to be Georgia’s current secretary of state — the office that oversees elections — was featuring a controversial video on his website showing a Black child actor who failed to bring the acceptable government-issued voter ID to cast a ballot. Although the video was first posted in 2016, it remained on the site until Thursday. Wow. So on the SOS website #BrianKemp has an advance voting video. Take a look at who gets to vote and who doesn’t. Nice messaging, Kemp. Please just #resign already. #gapol #gagov #TeamAbrams pic.twitter.com/D4gmMeb4Cw — Anjali Enjeti (@anjalienjeti) October 18, 2018 Aside from political ads, white Republican candidates themselves have been using no uncertain terms to describe their Black opponents in coded, dog-whistled language. Ron DeSantis , who was trailing Andrew Gillum in the latest polls for the Florida governor race, has defended racism and has a lengthy, detailed history of racism . The day after Gillum secured the Democratic nomination in the race, DeSantis told Florida voters  not to “monkey this up” by electing the person who could become the state’s first Black governor. Still not enough examples of how racism has permeated the 2018 election cycle? HuffPost listed more than a dozen other instances here to emphasize the tidal wave of racist “attacks made on candidates of color by their opponents.” We only defeat hate through these four letters-V.O.T.E … our lives depend on it! https://t.co/BI9rT3lgmH — NAACP (@NAACP) October 19, 2018 While the ads can’t be forgiven, they can certainly be understood, since the politics of fear worked so well for the president’s own election. And as has been shown time-and-time again, Republicans have no problem following the example of their leaders, even (especially?) if it means resorting to racism. The Wave Of Black Women Candidates Just Got Stronger With This Grassroots Funding Milestone

Read the original post:

B lack women candidates, who face disproportionately higher obstacles to fundraising, have gotten a much-needed financial boost to help push them across the finish line ahead of their opponents in the 2018 midterm elections. See Also: Blue Party: Say Hello To The Black Wave MoveOn.org, the progressive social justice and political organization, announced Thursday that it has raised more than $1 million in small donations from its members to help elect six Black women candidates in the 2018 cycle. They hit the milestone on Wednesday night, and the pot swelled to $1,101,791 by Thursday afternoon. The midterm elections are crucially important, and Black women bring an important voice to the political landscape, Karine Jean-Pierre , a MoveOn.org senior advisor and national spokesperson, told  NewsOne . “Demographics are changing. You can’t move forward unless you have Black women at the political table,” she emphasized. “It would be a farce to say we’re moving forward as a country if you don’t have Black women there.” . @MoveOn has been quietly banging away to raise grassroots funds for Black women running for office, & we're approaching an awesome milestone. Soon, our members will have directly contributed > $1 million to ppl like @staceyabrams @LindaForNC @LUnderwood630 @lucymcbath @IlhanMN — Anna Galland (@annagalland) October 15, 2018 Raising campaign funds is arguably the biggest obstacle that hinders the success of Black women candidates. There’s already an overall gender gap , in which women running for Congress raise an average of $500,000 less than men. The challenges are even greater for Black women compared to white women. A March 2018 report from Arena, a progressive group that trains and supports female candidates, underscored the challenges Black women candidates face in attracting funding. In 2016, Black and Latinx women incumbents raised only half as much as white women did and just two-thirds as much as white men. “Money is incredibly important. You can’t have a campaign without money,” Jean-Pierre emphasized. The money could help them reach more voters by purchasing TV or radio ads, printing brochures or hiring essential staff members. MoveOn members have been incredibly receptive to supporting Black women candidates, Jean-Pierre said. The organization has built an email list over the past two decades that numbers in the millions. Their small-dollar member donations have accumulated to critical funding that continues to fuel campaigns. Stacey Abrams , who is running to be Georgia’s first Black governor, received MoveOn’s endorsement in November 2017. The group endorsed 11 non-incumbent Black women for Congress, three statewide and 13 in local elections. By Thursday afternoon, MoveOn raised $939,548 for Abrams. The other candidates who received funding included Linda Coleman ($48,004), Lauren Underwood ($47,366), Lucy McBath ($47,943), Ilhan Omar ($18,522) and Jahana Hayes ($406.00). “It was the first time that we’ve endorsed so early in a gubernatorial elections because of the importance of her elections,” Jean-Pierre explained. “When we bundled for Stacey Abrams, I know it was helpful, especially going into the primaries.” SEE ALSO: Please Stop Giving Racist White Women Adorable Nicknames Where Is Kierra Coles?
