Ben Roethlisberger Accuser: 20-Year-Old Student

The Ben Roethlisberger sexual assault accuser is a 20-year-old college student who claims that the NFL star assaulted her in a bathroom of a Georgia nightclub. Police are withholding her identity, as is customary with sexually based offenses (or allegations thereof). The incident took place at a club called “Capital City.” Officials have interviewed both the Ben Roethlisberger accuser and the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback since that night but no charges have been filed … yet. “He was initially interviewed by our officers. We had a situation where we weren’t able to get hold of everybody at the same time,” police said. “He was released with his party and then we took care of our victim who was at the hospital.” Roethlisberger has retained prominent Atlanta criminal lawyer Edward T.M. Garland, who also defended Ray Lewis, to represent him in the sexual assault case . In brief remarks to the media yesterday, Garland said simply that “no sexual assault took place” and that the facts of the case support that, plain and simple . “The facts show that there was no criminal activity. No sexual assault occurred,” the attorney said, emphasizing that “Ben is completely innocent of any crime.” Between this girl and Andrea McNulty , Ben now has as many sexual assault accusers as Super Bowl rings. Yes, disclaimers are needed, as he was never charged in the McNulty case either, and these charges might be totally groundless. However, does anyone remember the Duke lacrosse team? When you’re a celebrity and public figure, that provides one many perks, but also requires restraint. We’re not saying Ben assaulted anyone. We’re saying he’s kind of an idiot, though, for not exercising better judgment. Crashing college bars, dude? Seriously?

Top 10 Academy Award Mysteries: Explained [Sleuthing]

If you were like me, last night you were watching the show with plenty of questions. Why so long? Why so bad? Who is that weird red-haired lady crashing the stage? Well, we found some answers and even more questions. Mystery : Who the hell was that red-haired lady crashing the stage during the Best Documentary Short acceptance speech? What Happened : Some crazy lady in a purple dress pulled a Kanye and hopped up to the mic and just started talking over director-producer Roger Ross Williams. She made no sense at all. Status : Solved. That woman was producer Elinor Burkett. She and Williams had a bitter feud over the direction of the film that resulted in a lawsuit. Salon has the full, awesome story . She accuses Williams’ mother of tripping her with a cane to keep her from getting on stage. The Oscars needed a lot more of this . Mystery : What was up with George Clooney ‘s face? What Happened : The silver fox was acting squirrelier than usual and making strange grimaces at the camera. Status : Solved: As we told you earlier Clooney was drunk from his secret flask. Who knows if the faces were because he was pissed (drunk) or pissed (upset) but we venture it was a combo of the two. Mystery : Did the Academy leave Farrah Fawcett and others out of the Dead People Montage? What Happened : The video collection of dead people highlights seemed shorter than usual this year (if you don’t count the entirely separate shout out to John Hughes who was never once nominated for an Oscar in his life) but they left several people out, like Fawcett, Bea Arthur , and Ed McMahon. Status : Solved. Yes, it was intentional . The Academy felt that in all three instances their work didn’t qualify them for inclusion, even though Michael Jackson and Brittany Murphy made the grade. They are not apologizing for skipping them either, saying every year some people must be left out. We smell Betty White’s hand in this. Mystery : Did Sandra Bullock diss Meryl Streep ? What Happened : When she got up to accept her trophy, Sandy B made a move toward Meryl, who tried to hug her or something, and then Sandy walked away and Meryl made the “Oh, never mind” gesture. The video is here . Status : Solved: Yes, she did. It doesn’t seem intentional, but the hug clearly didn’t connect. Maybe that is why Sandy repeatedly called Meryl her lover in her speech, to make up for causing her to look a fool on television. Mystery : What was up with those lamp shades? What Happened : At various points in the broadcast, a giant wall of lamp shades descended from heaven to make the stage look like the party room at a T.G.I. Friday’s in Wilkes-Barre. Status : Solved: It was a mistake—a very bad mistake. Mystery : Does Cameron Diaz not know how to read? What Happened : When she came out to present the award for Best Animated Feature with Steve Carell , they read their little banter and Cameron called Steve “Jude” by mistake before he corrected her and said their skit was originally written for Jude Law and they never fixed the Teleprompter Status : Solved: It was just a really bad joke, people. See, they talk about how Animated Features keep their beautiful faces off screen, and then we find out that it was supposed to be written for Jude Law, because, of course, no one would ever call Steve Carell attractive. Ha! Jokes. Too bad the show was so lame and riddled with mistakes that their very plausible meaning was a little too plausible. Mystery : What the fuck happened to Judd Nelson ? What Happened : When a bunch of brat packers, including a radiant Molly Ringwald, came out to pay tribute to John Hughes, it was apparent that all of them had aged, but none as badly as The Breakfast Club bad boy, who was practically unrecognizable. Status : Unsolved. He’s still working as an actor, so no one thinks he is destitute or drug-riddled or something. Everyone noticed he looked crazy but no one knows why. Yet. Mystery : Was Kathy Ireland drunk or on drugs? What Happened : The former supermodel was one of three co-hosts for ABC’s 30-minute red carpet special before the show began. She was horrible. Bad interview followed bad interview, she seemed semi-coherent, and her non-microphone-holding arm barely moved. Status : Solved. She was not on drugs . Now we have even more questions. Considering she has a billion (yes, that’s a b) dollar design business and we have never seen her host on TV before, what the hell was she doing there? Of all the people that ABC could have tapped to do the gig, why choose an inexperience lady who looks like she has a prosthetic? Is Kelly Ripa too normal or something? And if we wanted some crazy old lady with lots of plastic surgery on the red carpet, why not bring back Joan Rivers? Our mind is still boggling. Mystery : Will people watch again? What Happened : Last night’s telecast had the highest ratings in five years with 41.3 million viewers. It was also one of the worst productions in recent memories. Will people bother next year? Status : Solved. Of course. It’s the Oscars. Maybe not as many, but you know they’ll be there. And please, please, just let Neil Patrick Harris host next year. He promises his tux won’t be nearly as shiny. Mystery : Why the hell was there street dancing at the Oscars? What Happened : A troupe of television dancers were given the stage to do strange hip-hop contortions to the classically-influenced music of the Best Score nominees. Status : Unclear. We solved how it happened—director Adam Shankman who is a choreographer and TV dance show host—but we will forever be asking why. Why, why, why?

Christina Hendricks’ Cleavage Dressed To Impress

Earlier I posted pictures of Mariah Carey’s fat cleavage saying it was sloppy and that it wasn’t being presented in the best light. THIS is how you showcase big fat cleavage. Christina Hendricks is by far the queen of presenting oversized boobies in the most tasteful and hottest manner possible, here she is at the 18th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party launching pre-teen boys everywhere directly into puberty at a mere glance. I don’t know how she can breathe with those things stuffed in there, and I don’t really care, as long as she keeps doing it we’re good. Enjoy.

Audrina Patridge Fake Boobs Are Gold

Here’s nobody Audrina Patridge at some party the other night, not anything to do with the Academy Awards obviously, but some other party for all the minor celebrities who aren’t invited to the big galas. I bet Andy Dick was at this one. Anyhow, her dress is pretty stupid looking other than the fact that it’s nicely wrapped around her big fake boobs. I think that Audrina would get more exposure if all she wore to these types of things was her roller girl bikini outfit from the other day, it can become her trademark, like Burt Reynolds’ mustache or Pamela Anderson’s Hepatitis. Just a thought.

Sarah Palin and her association with NAR. "Everyone but Christians understands that Jesus was nonviolent." Mahatma Gandhi.

Researcher Rachel Tabachnick, reported regarding NAR videos that they “demonstrate the taking control of communities and nations through large networks of ‘prayer warriors’ whose spiritual warfare is used to expel and destroy the demons that cause societal ills. Once the territorial demons, witches, and generational curses are removed, the ‘born-again’ Christians in the videos take control of society.” “The movement’s notion of “spiritual warfare” has spread from the California suburbs to an East-Coast inner city, and has impacted policy decisions in the developing world. Movement operatives are well-connected enough to have testified before Congress and to have received millions of dollars in government abstinence-only sex-education grants. Leaders in the NAR movement refer to themselves as ‘apostles.’”[1] When Palin was 24, she joined a spiritual warfare network. Rachel Tabachnick, continues: “These communication networks allow apostles to disseminate new prophecy to their ‘prayer warriors.’ During the presidential election this included prophecies about Palin, including one in which Glazier described a vision that Palin would take the ‘mantle’ of leadership after a period of national mourning, apparently following John McCain’s demise. “The first Transformation film so impressed pastors in Wasilla, Alaska, that they contacted some of the religious leaders featured in the movie including Thomas Muthee, who was shown driving a witch out of Kiambu, Kenya. Wasilla Assembly of God developed an ongoing relationship with Muthee and a 2005 church video shows him anointing Palin. Unfortunately the press picked up on the witch part of the story, and not the more important fact that Palin has ties to top leaders of the New Apostolic Reformation. “I believe this movement’s threat to separation of church and state is greater than some of the more overtly theocratic movements of the religious right. The inclusion of women and all races in leadership roles, and their enthusiastic sponsorship of social services conflicts with a popular notion about religious fundamentalism. Despite their radical strategies, leaders in the movement have been labeled in the press as moderate…a ‘new evangelical.’ I have written on this topic a number of times in the past and believe it is very important and frightening information that should be read and understood by as many people as possible. This is a very well written and researched post that will have the hairs on the back of your neck standing on end. Please click the title to read the entire article. My friend Leah Burton, from “God’s Own Party”, should have returned from her speaking engagement and be back at the keyboard in the next day or so, and I trust she will have much to add on this topic as well.

Tyga Says ‘The Music Is Solid’ On New Mixtape

‘I’m a solid individual,’ Young Money MC tells Mixtape Daily. By Shaheem Reid Tyga Photo: Young Money This Week’s Main Pick Street King : Tyga Holding It Down For : Young Money Mixtape : Black Thoughts Real Spit : This tape has nothing to do with the Legendary Roots Crew’s lead MC — it’s all about Young Money’s West Coast rebel Tyga. “Basically, I named the mixtape Black Thoughts because when you think of the word ‘black,’ you think of great, confidence, individuality. I feel like the music is solid. I’m a solid individual. The music is solid. We put ‘thoughts’ behind it because basically all the music is things I think about, things people think about doing, things I’ve thought about doing or I’ve done. I put it all together and made Black Thoughts. ” Joints To Check For

Travis McCoy Says New Album Is ‘Music To Have A Good Time To’

‘Now a lot of the records are happy,’ Gym Class Heroes frontman says. By James Montgomery Travis “Travie” McCoy First things first: Travis McCoy wants to be known as “Travie” these days. After all, that’s how he’s always been known amongst his family and friends. “I mean, anybody who knows me already calls me that. No one in my circle calls me Travis. Even my family, at a young age started calling me ‘Travie,’ ” he said, cracking up slightly. “So I want people to feel comfortable calling me ‘Travie.’ It’s almost like inviting people in. You can be part of the family, so long as you buy the album.” And that brings us to the second point — his long-in-the-works solo album, which McCoy wants you to know is no longer called The Lazarus Project, for legal reasons … involving Paul Walker. “Unfortunately we had to change the title to just Lazarus, because there’s already this movie out there called ‘The Lazarus Project,’ ” he explained. “So we’re just calling the record Lazarus now. It’s more to the point.” And all this talk of labels, nicknames and titles is sort of relevant to McCoy in general. Because ever since he burst onto the scene with Gym Class Heroes (McCoy and the band are currently at work on a new LP), people have struggled to slap a label on the charismatic frontman. Is he a rapper? A rock star? Something in between? Certainly GCH’s hip-hop leaning 2008 album The Quilt didn’t help matters any and now, with Lazarus on the horizon (it’s tentatively due in June), McCoy is facing another round of critical labeling. And yes, it’s a bit annoying. “It’s hard to put a stamp on the record. With anything I do, it’s hard to categorize it. With any project, I just go in and blindly start writing songs and then find out which way we want to go with it. This one took a bit longer to find the lane,” he said. “It was a year in the making. … We thought we had found the lane, then I started doing other sh–. Now that it’s done and I’ve listened to it a bunch of times, I’ll say that it’s got a pop appeal … the songs will appeal to a broader range of people as opposed to the hip-hop crowd or conventional GCH crowd.” Initially, the songs on Lazarus reflected the dark times in McCoy’s life … inspired mainly by his breakup with longtime girlfriend Katy Perry . But in the months following the split, he said he found a new outlook on life. And the new songs he wrote reflected that shift. “A lot of the music started off pretty dark and introspective, but now a lot of the records are happy. I stopped being so bitter about my life and situations,” McCoy said. “I hate going back to this, but I went through a sh—y breakup, so a lot of records were bitter in the beginning. Sad and mad about sh–, but then I found a median with myself. I realized I don’t have it that bad, so I figured, why dampen the mood with sad, sh—y records?” And on Monday (March 8) fans can get an official taste of what Lazarus will offer, when the first single — a song called “Billionaire” — premieres on MTV.com. But don’t let the title fool you: This isn’t your average, run-of-the-mill song about Benjamins. ” ‘Billionaire’ is basically about, you know, like ‘Brewster’s Millions.’ It’s me talking about what would happen if I would somehow manage to become a billionaire. What would I do with the money?” he explained. “Don’t get it wrong, I’m far from a billionaire. I think I just made it out the ‘thousandaire’ category. So it’s about what I would do with the money and, the same time, it opens up the question, if you were in a position to do something with a decent chunk of money, what would you do?” And that’s sort of the balance McCoy is striking on Lazarus — a little bit of the serious, a little bit of the social, but, of course, a whole lot fun, too. That’s the point of making songs like this, no matter how you choose to label them. “I’ve always wanted this album to come out in the summer, because that’s when most of the memorable music drops,” he said. “You want music to have a good time to, music to connect to. You wanna play it at the party.”

T-Pain Says ‘Freaknik: The Musical’ Has ‘No Boundaries’

Pain co-wrote the Adult Swim animated special, which features Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross and Cee-Lo. By Shaheem Reid T-Pain Photo: MTV News T-Pain says his next album, Revolver, will be coming out later this year, but his first major project of 2010 is a TV show. Pain is starring in and producing a one-hour animated special for Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim this weekend called “Freaknik: The Musical.” Freaknik was an annual party in Atlanta that started in the 1980s but blew up in the mid-’90s. During spring break, students from the area’s historically black colleges and the hip-hop community used to gather for a weekend of partying, a picnic and, in many cases, debauchery. The event took over the city and was protested heavily, and the final one was in 1999. “I actually never been, but I’ve seen every piece of footage that can come from the Florida side of Freaknik,” said T-Pain, who hails from Tallahassee, Florida. “It was a lot of night vision, a whole lot of night vision. Every video I’ve ever seen [from Freaknik] was in night vision. Even in the daytime, it was night vision.” Pain’s musical, which he also co-wrote, follows a group trying to make it to the event. “It’s about the trials and tribulations of a group that’s trying to get to Freaknik,” Pain explained. “Freaknik, the party ghost — which is [who I play] — is holding a battle of the trillest. It’s a rap battle. If you win the rap battle, the first prize is a lifetime supply of money, ho’s and clothes. It’s three dudes in the rap group and their weed man trying to make it to Freaknik. It’s their trials and tribulations coming from Sweet Tea, Florida, all the way to Georgia. I play the Spirit of Freaknik. Everywhere I go, it’s on and poppin’.” Pain said the story wasn’t his brainchild, but he jumped onboard when presented with the idea. “I didn’t write the whole thing,” he said. “They came to me with the premise. I started scratching stuff off and getting new stuff. You can say I wrote it, but I didn’t. It was my homeboy Carl [Jones], the same guy that does ‘The Boondocks.’ We had to get a lot of his help, direction and stuff like that. We all wrote it together. It was a good team of people that has no boundaries. We took it so far that the watered-down version is awesome.” Andy Samberg, Snoop Dogg, Cee-Lo and Rick Ross are among the stars doing voice-overs. “I didn’t want nobody to play themselves,” Pain said. “Ross is Big Uzi, one of the dudes in the group. Cee-Lo is Light Skinned, which is a white dude who is a black supremacist.” “Freaknik: The Musical” airs Sunday at 11:30 p.m. on Adult Swim.
