T he Trump-backed candidate for Pennsylvania governor refuses to apologize for repeating an anecdote from the white nationalist site InfoWars at a Sept. 12 campaign rally. The anecdote compares nonwhite undocumented immigrants and Muslims to a racoon infestation that only President Trump can exterminate. SEE ALSO: Trump Continues to Embolden White Supremacists To Run For Office Scott Wagner , a former state senator who won the GOP gubernatorial nomination, said in a statement on Thursday that his reference to racoons was not a metaphor for any specific group of people, as was used in the original InfoWars piece, PennLive.com reported. Instead, racoons represent problems that he intends to “solve” like Trump does. 'We are being invaded:' Republican Scott Wagner repeats anecdote from white nationalist site https://t.co/vs78Ybg4iQ — PennLive.com (@PennLive) September 20, 2018 Trump’s embrace of the racist far-right wing of his party has encouraged some of them to run for office and to express racist views—sometimes using coded language. Add Wagner to the list that includes Corey Stewart in Virginia and Ron DeSantis in Florida , who both have Trump’s support. The president endorsed Wagner during a rally in August. “We are honored to be joined tonight by your state’s Republican nominee for governor. A great guy. Somebody I know well. He’s going to be one hell of a governor. He’s tough, he’s smart — Scott Wagner,” Trump said. At his own rally in September, Wagner told the crowd that he knows some people compare him to the president, according to the Tribune Review . “He and I, we know there’s a swamp. He knew there’s a swamp in D.C.; there’s a swamp in Harrisburg (Pennsylvania),” the candidate stated before reading the InfoWars anecdote. Pennsylvania’s Democratic Party called on Wagner to apologize. His comments were “repugnant and racist. This just shows he has no business ever serving in public office again,” said the party’s spokesman Mike Mikus , according to the Tribune. But if Wagner is anything like his idol, Donald Trump, he’ll try to ride a wave of bigotry into the governor’s mansion in November. Source: Boston Globe / Getty Drake isn’t out here just living his best life, he’s living the fast life as well. According to Page Six , the 6 God hit up Atlantic City and gambled away damn near $200,000 while living it up at The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino with his crew. The night started out simple enough with the “In My Feelings” rapper rocking the crowd at his Aubrey & The Three Migos tour in Philadelphia. From there he and his entourage made their way to Daer Nightclub for a quick performance before eventually hitting up the gambling spot to try his luck. Unfortunately luck was the only lady not willing to cozy up to Drizzy that night. The source told us the star then headed to a private high-rollers area, which was cleared out for Drake and his crew to have a private party. Sources said that the casino even opened up restaurant Sugar Factory after-hours for the rapper and his party to nosh on “mini burgers, chicken fingers and french fries,” as well as a colossal cocktail dubbed “The Drake,” served up in 60-ounce goblets and composed of the rapper’s Virginia Black whiskey, peach puree, sweet tea, Sour Patch peach gummies and cotton candy. Yeesh. “He stayed at the table,” said a spy, who added that before the sun came up Drake had put down close to $200,000. Insiders said that even with the loss, Drake likely still had a nice chunk of change left from his appearance earlier. This isn’t the first time Drake’s taken an L on big money. Earlier this year the Toronto rapper lost 10K to Quavo on a single half-court shot like it was spare change. Must be nice. — Photo: Getty
Who said pre-Emmy Awards parties were boring and pointless? Okay, fine, no one has ever said much of anything when it comes to pre-Emmy Awards parties in general. But Tom Arnold and Mark Burnett did what they could to change that on Sunday night. According to multiple outlets, along with the participants themselves, Arnold got into a physical altercation with the reality show producer and his wife, Roma Downey, at a gathering in Los Angeles. Both sides have their own stories pertaining to what transpired, but Arnold was the first to Tweet about it just after midnight, writing: “Mark Burnett just went apes–t & choked me at this huge Emmy party then he ran away with his torn Pink shirt & missing gold chain. I’m waiting for LAPD.” About an hour later, however, Downey shared her own Twitter post and her own version of events. “Got this bruise tonight when Tom Arnold tried to ambush my husband Mark and me at a charity event. Is your TV show worth it Tom?Please stop,” the actress wrote. Downey is referring here to “The Hunt for the Trump Tapes,” a series on Viceland that premieres on Tuesday night and which centers on Arnold’s search for various tapes that would embarrass or shame President Donald Trump. He has alleged in the past that tapes exist of Trump saying the N-Word during his time as Apprentice host — and that Burnett, as creator of that program, has helped bury them. In response to Downey’s above accusation, Arnold Tweeted the following early this morning: “Bullshit. You lie your crazy husband attacked me you psycho. I’m filing a police report & suing you for defamation.” He reiterated this same threat on social media this afternoon: “Sitting in West LAPD filing charges against your best bud Apprentice Outtakes Mark Burnett who lost his mind, attacked & chocked [sic] me last nite at Katzenberg’s Night Before The Emmy’s Party. “Mark Burnett is scared:) #TrumpTapes.” Many people out there think Arnold is only taking these steps to stir up publicity for his show. A witness tells TMZ, for example, that Arnold attacked Burnett as soon as he saw the producer at the party. Burnett then pushed Arnold back, after which Arnold ripped Burnett’s crucifix off his neck, breaking the item in the process. The confrontation lasted about 30 seconds and everyone involved remained at the party afterward. Earlier in the day, Arnold told Salon.com that he wanted to approach Burnett at the Emmys ceremony in a confrontational manner; he also called the reality show creator a “pussy.” Arnold’s attorney, Marty Singer, confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter today that the incident occurred. He claimed Burnett “attacked” his client, but said little else of relevance. Alyson Hannigan, who was also in attendance, Tweeted that the fight broke out in front of her. But she can’t say for sure who started it. “I thought it was a joke until security jumped in!” she wrote, adding that Survivor host Jeff Probst tried to jump in and break it up. Phew. At least Probst wasn’t hurt in the scuffle. Because, let’s face it: No one cares about Burnett or Arnold. But if Jeff Probst got injured in any way?!? We’d have a real problem on our hands.
Hope you’re prepared to get in a good cry right now. Because if you continue reading, trust us, it’s coming. As you surely know by now, rapper Mac Miller passed away last week . He was only 26 years old. We still don’t have too many details about what happened, but here’s what we do know: Mac was found dead in his home last Friday around noon, and when emergency responders arrived on the scene after receiving a 911 call, they saw that he’d been dead for several hours . There’s no official cause of death yet, but the assumption is that he died of an overdose, considering the fact that he’s been dealing with addiction for several years. Toxicology reports take a while, so it will likely be several more weeks before we learn what happened to him. The night before his body was found, he’d been hosting a party in his home, and it sounds like the party got a bit out of hand. Witnesses even claimed that several of his guests were there until Friday morning, when they rushed out of the house just before police arrived . Because of this, some people are suspicious that something more than an overdose happened that night, but police aren’t investigating. On a different note, another thing we know about his death is that as awful and implausible as it sounds, many of Mac’s fans are blaming Ariana Grande . Ariana and Mac dated for a couple of years before breaking up in May, and a few weeks after that, she was engaged to Pete Davidson . The idea seems to be that she should have done more to help him with his problems, or that her quick engagement broke his heart and caused him to ramp up his drug use. It’s silly, because it’s not Ariana couldn’t force him to give up drugs, and she’s not responsible for his choices, no matter what. People were so cruel about this that she had to turn off comments on her Instagram, as if she wasn’t hurting enough. Speaking of Instagram, she shared a sweet picture of Mac there last weekend, and although she didn’t say anything about his death, it was a lovely little tribute. But now, in another post, she’s really opening up about what happened. Ariana Grande Shares Sweet Memory of Mac Miller And it is rough . This time, she posted a video of him, and while it’s a little hard to tell what’s happening, it’s still precious. He’s talking with someone else about something when he notices Ariana filming him, and he laughs and says “Baby, stop!” They start laughing together, and she says “it makes me so happy,” so he tells her “I’ll tell you the story as many times as you want.” It’s sad enough to see him laughing and having a good time after knowing how things turn out for him, but things get even sadder once you read the caption she wrote to go along with the video. “i adored you from the day i met you when i was nineteen and i always will,” she began. “i can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. i really can’t wrap my head around it. we talked about this. so many times.” “i’m so mad,” she continued. “i’m so sad i don’t know that to do. you were my dearest friend. for so long. above anything else.” “i’m so sorry i couldn’t fix or take your pain away. i really wanted to.” She finished by calling Mac “the kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved.” “i hope you’re okay now,” she told him. “rest.” Mac’s funeral will take place sometime in the next few days in Pittsburgh, his hometown, and according to reports, she’ll be in attendance. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2018: In Memoriam Here’s hoping she can get a little bit of closure from that, because it sounds like she’s really hurting right now.
Shocking news out of the music world today, as TMZ reported moments ago that Mac Miller has passed away . The widely-acclaimed hip hop artist, whose real name was Malcolm James McCormick, was just 26 years old. Though details about Miller’s passing are scarce at the moment, TMZ is reporting that the cause of death appears to be a drug overdose. Miller’s body was found at his home in San Fernando Valley after authorities were contacted by a friend of the rapper’s. He was reportedly pronounced dead on the scene. Though a respected figure on the hip hop scene since the release of his 2011 mixtape “Best Day Ever” and 2012 debut album, Blue Slide Park , Miller is perhaps best known for his personal life. Most notably, his romantic relationship with pop superstar Ariana Grande. Miller and Grande began dating in 2016. The relationship was often described as a whirlwind romance, and the engagement rumors that circulated on multiple occasions were tellingly never denied by either party. Miller dedicated his 2016 album The Divine Feminine to his then-girlfriend and stated in the press that Grande taught him to reflect on the important role that women had played in his life and development. Sadly, in May of 2018, Grande and Miller broke up . According to Grande, his substance abuse played a role in her decision to end the relationship. Shortly after the split, Miller was arrested for a DUI hit and run after he crashed his G-Wagon and fled the scene on foot. He was later apprehended at his home and blew twice the legal limit on a breathalyzer test. When fans blamed Grande for the Miller’s downward spiral, she pushed back on social media. “I am not a babysitter or a mother and no woman should feel that they need to be,” she tweeted. “I have cared for him and tried to support his sobriety & prayed for his balance for years.” Grande added: “Of course I didn’t share about how hard or scary it was while it was happening but it was.” According to TMZ, he had a hard time moving on. In the months following the breakup and Grande’s subsequent engagement to Pete Davidson , friends were instructed not to mention the situation in Miller’s presence. Miller seems to have struggled with substance abuse his entire life, to the point that premature death was a subject that was often on his mind and one that he addressed frequently in his music. He delved into great detail about his addiction to promethazine and codeine (a combination known as “purple drank”) on his 2014 album Faces . Addressing his substance abuse issues in a 2012 interview, Miller had this to say: “I’d rather be the corny white rapper than the drugged-out mess who can’t even get out of his house.” “Overdosing is just not cool. You don’t go down in history because you overdose. You just die.” A profile of Miller was published by Vulture on Thursday and contained this tragically illuminating quote about the rapper’s mindset in his final days. “A lot of times in my life,” he said, “I’ve put this pressure to hold myself to the standard of whatever I thought I was supposed to be, or how I was supposed to be perceived.” He added: “And it creates pressure.” For his last words, publicly anyway, that line is extremely telling. Mac Miller was scheduled to begin a nationwide tour next month. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2018: In Memoriam His final Instagram post features a portion of his song “So It Goes,” which features the lyrics: “Nine lives, never, die, f-ck a heaven, I’m still gettin’ high.” Our thoughts go out to Miller’s loved ones during this difficult time.
As previously reported, tragedy has once again struck Hollywood. Around noon on Friday, authorities, responding to a call from an unknown individual, arrived at the San Fernando Valley home of Mac Miller and found the rapper dead . He was 26 years old. As of this writing, the likely cause of death is a drug overdose. The artist had been well known and respected across the music industry ever since his debut album in 2012… but he was perhaps better known of late for his long-term relationship with Ariana Grande. This romance ended in May , with sources saying that Miller’s substance abuse issues played a significant role in Grande deciding it was time to part ways. Just a week later, Miller was arrested for drunk driving . Shortly afterward, in July, he an interview to Zane Lowe on Beats 1 on Apple Music in which he referred to himself as a “self-destructive depressed drug user.” But he also assured fans at this time that he was doing okay and that he was “happy” for Grande, who he dated for two years. Just over a month later, Miller is dead. “Malcolm McCormick, known and adored by fans as Mac Miller, has tragically passed away at the age of 26,” his family said in a statement provided to multiple outlets. “He was a bright light in this world for his family, friends and fans. Thank you for your prayers. Please respect our privacy. There are no further details as to the cause of his death at this time Elsewhere, Warner Bros. Records added the following: “Mac was a hugely gifted and inspiring artist, with a pioneering spirit and sense of humor that touched everyone he met. “Mac’s death is a devastating loss and cuts short a life and a talent of huge potential, where the possibilities felt limitless.” The Los Angeles Fire Department has confirmed that first responders were dispatched Friday after an 11:42 a.m. call about a medical complaint at a residence in Studio City, California. They did not transport anyone from the scene, making it safe to assume that Miller had passed away before they arrived. “I just wanna go on tour,” Miller Tweeted on Thursday. “The show is going to be special every night. I wish it started tomorrow.” Meanwhile, while music heavyweights mourn Miller’s passing (“Great man. I loved him for real. Im completely broken. God bless him,” Tweeted Chance the Rapper), a handful of terrible trolls out there are blamng Grande for what has transpired. They somehow think the singer is responsible for Miller’s addiction and for driving him to this fatal place due to their split. In the wake of this tragedy and upon seeing what these awful people were writing on her Instagram page, Grande disabled Comments for a period of time. She appears to have now turned them back on. And if she is checking, we sincerely hope she sees that the supporters out there far, far, FAR outweight the misguided haters. “The amount of tweets blaming Ariana Grande for what happened to Mac Miller is disgusting, his addiction and lack of help is what drove this to happen, don’t point the finger and blame,” wrote on fan. And another chimed in as follows: “Just noticed Ariana Grande disabled comments on her Instagram account after a barrage of Mac Miller-related comments. Recognize the true problem here, rather than using someone else as a scapegoat & continuing the cycle. All so sad & nauseating.” Following Mller’s aforementioned crash and DUI arrest, someone on the Internet dared to blame Grande for the rapper’s fate. She wasn’t having it. “I am not a babysitter or a mother and no woman should feel that they need to be,” clapped back the singer, adding: “I have cared for him and tried to support his sobriety & prayed for his balance for years (and always will of course) but shaming / blaming women for a man’s inability to keep his s— together is a very major problem.” That is oh so true. And also so not the point right now. A young man is dead at the age of 26. It’s a tragedy. This is especially the case when you consider what Miller said in a documentary a few years ago: “I’d rather be the corny white rapper than the drugged-out mess who can’t even get out of his house. Overdosing is just not cool. You don’t go down in history because you overdose. You just die.” May he rest in peace. View Slideshow: 33 Musicians Who Died Too Young
DING! DING! DING! It was on between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj at a New York Fashion Week party on Friday night. And we mean this literally. The artists got into a physical altercation. Both stars showed up at the Harper's Bazaar's shindig yesterday evening, with Cardi “aggressively approached [a] table” at which Nicki was sitting, according to TMZ. “Let me tell you something,” an onlooker alleges Cardi said to her rival, priot to lunging at Minaj and then getting pulled away by others at the party. As she was being dragged in the opposite direction, however, Cardi HURLED A SHOE at Minaj. No charges have been filed and we don't think police were even called to the scene. But the tension remains, that's for sure. Just after 12 a.m. PST this morning, Cardi wrote the following on Instagram: I've let a lot of s–t slide! I let you sneak diss me, I let you lie on me, I let you attempt to stop my bags, f–k up the way I eat! “You've threatened other artists in the industry, told them if they work with me you'll stop f–kin with them!! I let you talk big s–t about me!! “I've worked hard and come too far to let anybody f*** with my success!!!! Bitches talk about all that s**** in they raps but in real life are p***y.” Insiders claimed that Cardi didn't intend on really fighting with Nicki, just on confronting her about lies Minaj had supposedly been spreading about her. While she was being taken away, an elbow slammed Cardi in the face and gave her a noticeable lump. Pretty crazy stuff, huh? Here is Cardi's full statement: And you catch watch footage of the near-brawl here. The footage isn't totally clear, but you can get a clear idea of how nutty things got.
Source: Craig Barritt / Getty On this week’s new episode of First We Feast’s number one show Hot Ones , Emmy-nominated creator and actress Issa Rae goes toe-to-toe with host Sean Evans and the famous wings of death. In this episode, you find out if she can handle her spice as she traces her “glow up” from the dorm rooms of Stanford to heights of TV. The Insecure creator also breaks down millennial dating terms, explains how she may have inspired Cardi B ’s career, and graces the Hot Ones stage with one of its most memorable musical performances—and she does it all without taking a sip of water or milk. One especially interesting topic of conversation throughout the episode is Issa addressing the first time she ever hung out with fellow actress and comedian Tiffany Haddish . If you’ve ever heard a story about Haddish at a party before, this might not be anything surprising, but it’s definitely pretty insane. “…One of my first times getting to hang out with Tiffany…She met one of our cast members, who shall remain nameless. I had a little party at my hotel room at Essence Fest, her movie ‘Girls Trip’ had just come out, and we had just all come from seeing the premiere there. And she was like, ‘Where the party at?’ And I was like, ‘Girl, it’s in my hotel. Come through, and then we can go to other places.’ And she meets one of our cast members, comes into the door, does a B-line and is like…’Hey, I’m Tiffany,’ and demonstrates, on the champagne glass, her skills…” “Throughout the night she was drinking more and she sat next to him and got in his face and was just like, ‘You look like a n***a that likes to get slapped. Ima slap you.’ And he was like, ‘Well actually, I don’t. I don’t like to get slapped.’ And she was like, ‘Yes you do, Ima slap you right now and you’ll cum,’ and just continued to berate him…” Beyond that crazy encounter, Rae also talks about the magical time she got invited to Diddy ‘s house for lunch. “I was just sitting court-side [at the All Star Game], I got tickets. And he was diagonal and he came over and asked for a picture with me. I was like, ‘What the fuck?’ And then he invited me to lunch! He was like, ‘Let’s go to lunch,’ and I was like, ‘OK, this is Hollywood.’ He was like, ’No, I wanna have you over my house for lunch.’ And then he really text me and followed through…” Peep all of this and way more on the latest episode of Hot Ones with Issa Rae .
Shannon Beador has been through the mill of late. On The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 13 Episode 5 , she opened up to both viewers and Kelly Dodd about what it was like to end her 17-year marriage to David. “I want to have a partner … [but] I don’t know if I’m ready,” she said as she contemplated the future. Beador went on to confirm that she’s still struggling with her body. “I think that part of the reason why I can’t imagine myself with somebody or dating somebody is because I’m not comfortable in my body,” she told fellow Housewife Kelly Dodd, tearing up. “If I were to take my clothes off, I don’t want to see it, so I don’t want somebody else to see it.” “I know I’m a good catch, but it’s hard for me to say,” she added. “I was just told for all these years that I’m selfish and I’m worthless, and I’m fat. I know I’m not, but when you hear it for so long…” As for Dodd, she was facing similar battles because she recently got divorced, and that’s likely why these two women are so close now. “I’ve heard all of those things for so long too, Shannon,” she said to her friend. “There’s not days I don’t cry or [feel] depressed. I’m lonely. I don’t have anybody having my back. It’s sad. I want somebody that’s there for me.” “It looks like I go out and have a good time with guys, but the reality is, I just got out of a 13-year marriage, and I am not used to being alone,” Dodd said in a confessional. “Kelly and I have gone through hell and back,” Beador said. “Who would have thought that I’d be sitting, having a nice conversation. And her supporting me, shows you how you can evolve.” “The best and right thing is happening for the both of us,” she said. “I’m just grateful we’ve reached the point in our relationship where we totally understand each other. You have such a big heart, and I’m really grateful that we’re at this place.” “I’m grateful to you too. I mean, who knew?” said a shocked Kelly. While that particular friendship was flourishing, there was still beef between Vicki and Kelly. If you watch The Real Housewives of Orange County online , you know that Kelly was mad Vicki and her boyfriend was going on double dates with her ex-husband. Tamra and Shannon tried to play the peacemakers at Emily’s party, but it was clear the rift was growing between them. Poor Emily didn’t know what she was getting herself into when she invited them over to the party. The odd thing about Emily is that she doesn’t seem like a real housewife. It’s almost like the producers thought throwing her in would shake things up and add a new dynamic. Instead, her scenes are really difficult to get through. As for Tamra, she was still trying to find the balance between looking after her husband, Eddie, and keeping all of the women from ripping each other apart. Eddie’s still not better, and the doctor is determined to give him a drug that will essentially stop his heart and then he will be shocked back to life. It’s a horrifying reality and one that anyone would be terrified of it. The most surprising aspect is that he’s allowing it all to be filmed in front of the cameras. Maybe this is more about raising awareness than being a storyline for a Bravo reality series. The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 13 has been somewhat subdued. There have been many arguments, but they all seem to center on the same thing, and that’s problematic. We need the OG of the OC to bring the drama back! What are your thoughts on the new episode? The Real Housewives of Orange County continues Mondays on Bravo. View Slideshow: The Real Housewives of Orange County Premiere Just Gave Us So Much More Hope For Season 13
