He’s well on his way to being a Hall of Famer. He’s a freakishly quick, scary an individual. His wife can be seen in this GIF from last season high-fiving a friend and MFing nobody in particular in a celebratory manner. She’s reacting to this bone-rattling hit Wilfork put on Donald Jones of the Buffalo Bills. It would not be wise to make a comment about her appearance. Ted Johnson, a former Patriots linebacker (won three Super Bowls, played at the University of Colorado), is now hosting a radio show in Houston. He was asked who the ugliest spouse was on the Patriots during his time there. Now at this point ol’ Ted had a decision to make. Answer the question outright and say what he really feels, or spare an ex-teammate some embarrassment and possibly save himself a fade. Fireman Ed is apparently hanging up his helmet. Ed Anzalone – who has been a New York Jets fan since 1975 and who is known for his passionate chants of “J-E-T-S!” at home games – left his seat at halftime of the team’s embarrassing Thanksgiving night loss to the Patriots and then announced he will no longer attend contests this season. In his guest column for Metro New York , Fireman Ed does not cite the squad’s 4-7 record or the awful play of Mark Sanchez for his departure. Instead, he writes that “confrontations with other Jets fans have become more common, even though most Jets fans are fantastic.” The basis for many of these fights? Ed’s defense of Sanchez versus the desires of others to see Tim Tebow under center. “The stadium has become divided because of the quarterback controversy,” Ed explains. “The fact that I chose to wear a Mark Sanchez jersey this year, and that fans think I am on the payroll – which is an outright lie – have made these confrontations more frequent. Whether it’s in the stands, the bathroom or the parking lot, these confrontations are happening on a consistent basis.” Anzalone is a retired firefighter. He’s well-known around the stadium and also within the confines of the team, with Rex Ryan having given Ed a game ball after a 2009 upset of the Patriots. He also says he’ll remain a fan, he’ll just be rooting from afar going forward. “I have enjoyed my time in chanting the greatest chant in all of sports. I have enjoyed meeting all the wonderful Jets fans around the world and look forward to the day we all can raise the Lombardi Trophy as one and celebrate a world championship down the Canyon of Heroes.”

Won’t this affect that expensive azz wedding he has coming up? After spending Thursday trying to trade wide receiver Chad Ochocinco , the New England Patriots decided to release him, according to league sources. Ochocinco took to Twitter this afternoon to thank the loyal Patriots fans: “Thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to play for the “Patriot” organization… fans were f—— wicked awesome, I wish all of you the best…,” Ochocinco tweeted. The Patriots pushed trade conversations with other teams up to near the end of the day’s transaction deadline at 4 p.m. But despite conversations with other teams, there was not enough interest to make a deal. Ochocinco’s biggest issue in New England was not his ability; it had more to do with his ability to pick up the Patriots playbook, which the veteran wide receiver struggled to do. Earlier Thursday, there had been speculation that this was Ochocinco’s last day with the Patriots because the wide receiver left the training facility before the team’s OTA. However, Ochocinco said later in the day he had not been released and simply was attending an eye doctor’s appointment. In other words Ochocinco couldn’t catch up to speed with the playbook, and the Patriots decided to part ways. Luckily, Ocho isn’t in the same predicament as his good friend, Terell Owens and will more than likely find a new team by the time his name change goes into effect. The New York Giants Get Their Superbowl Championship Rings According to TMZ reports : The New York Giants FINALLY got their Super Bowl rings last night — three months after winning the championship — and they’re more beautiful than we could ever have imagined. The ring — designed by Tiffany & Co. — is made of white gold and COVERED in diamonds. The top of the ring alone is lined with 37 blue sapphires. The ring (pictured above on cornerback Will Blackmon’s finger) also includes the final score of Super Bowl XLVI (21-17) — when Giants trounced the New England Patriots for the second time in four years. The four Vince Lombardi trophies (look for the footballs) represent the team’s four championships (1986, 1990, 2007 and 2011). It’s hard to put a value on something like a Super Bowl ring — but the hardware alone is probably worth five figures. In case you were wondering NFL stands for “Not Financially Liable” The New England Patriots Restructure Chad Ochocinco’s Contract When the Bengals traded Chad Ochocinco to the Patriots, the receiver was set to make $6 million for the 2011 season. With New England, though, he restructured his deal to make it a three-year, $11.5 million deal (he did, however,end up making that original amount thanks to bonuses). And he seemed fine with taking a smaller base salary for the chance to play for the Patriots. Now, after a less than stellar season in which he caught 15 passes with only one touchdown — and disappeared for long stretches of the season — Ochocinco again has restructured his deal. And again, he seems fine with making less money. According to the Boston Herald, Ochocinco will make $1 million for the 2012 season instead of the $3 million he was scheduled to earn, and for a guy who had a good chance to be cut following the Super Bowl (or even before), Ochocinco supposedly is motivated to become a top-notch receiver instead of what he appeared to be last season — a 33-year-old who had nothing left. “Chad has unfinished business,” his agent Drew Rosenhaus told the paper. “He has unfinished business with the Patriots. They were very generous to him last year, and he’s interested in giving the team his best. He feels with a(n) offseason, with a great offseason, the lockout hurt him, it’s a tough system, he’ll learn the system, he’ll get accustomed to it, and I think he’ll do a lot better. So, he’s excited. He’s ready to make an impact.” Ochocinco made virtually no impact last season in New England, and he was benched for part of the playoffs. Whether it was because Ochocinco couldn’t handle the intricacies of the Patriots offense or whether it was a chemistry issue with Tom Brady or whether it was an issue with Ochocinco’s physical skills (and how much they might have declined from 2010 to 2011), Ochocinco simply couldn’t make himself relevant in New England. Says Chad’s agent Drew Rosenhaus about his performance: “With the lockout, he missed all of the offseason program,” Rosenhaus said. “We represent a lot of guys who have played in that offseason over the years … and it’s a very tricky offensive system to learn.
