Justin Bieber’s ‘Never Say Never’ 3-D Movie Is Uplifting Even to ‘Non-Beliebers’

It’s easy to laugh off Bieber Fever. It only takes a shake of that perfectly side-swept mane to send teenage girls into hysterics. But in Justin Bieber’s 3-D movie ‘Never Say Never,’ even the non-Beliebers among us will appreciate the heart and hard work that’s gone into making the 16-year-old heartthrob a worldwide phenomenon. The could-be-boy-bander’s musical aptitude is often glossed over by the media, but in the film we see the real talent that launched his career. Home movies of Justin at age 3, rhythmically keeping the beat and drumming to the delight of his mom’s 20-something friends, add some intimacy to the epic production. More family footage showcases his flourishing musical skills, showing a young Bieber performing at local talent shows and picking up a multitude of new instruments at his church. The kid proves he was launched by his voice and musical abilities, and he wasn’t another mediocre-sounding youngster put in a pretty package and sold by Disney. ‘Never Say Never’ leads up to Justin’s first headlining performance at Madison Square Garden, and the audience gets to know the wunderkind’s real and extended families. We meet Pattie Mallette, the single mother who became pregnant with Justin when she was only 18, and the endearing, small town grandparents who helped raise the Canadian sensation. We also get to know Scooter Braun, the now 29-year-old manager who happened upon a then-12-year-old Bieber’s soulful living room performances on YouTube back in 2007. Scooter clearly cares about Justin on a personal level, and worries about preserving his childhood and helping him grow up to be “a good man.” But when it’s time to get down to business, Scooter plays disciplinarian and is described by Justin as “the dad” of his multi-person tour company. It’s fascinating to see how much hard work Justin and the seemingly down-to-earth cast of characters working with the teen idol put into making and maintaining him as a star. Sure, now the kid can bat his eyelashes and shut down Times Square, but he sang for all the tiny town DJs who would listen, break danced for any water parks that would have him and broke hearts in middle school auditoriums across the country long before the world came to know him as a star. And as frustrating as it was for the typically impatient teen, neither he nor his team gave up when things didn’t come easy. ‘Never Say Never’ is really the first feature to really explore fame in the 21st century. It combats the notion that the constant connectivity that comes with the Internet overexposes a star. On the contrary, new technology (YouTube, Twitter, Facebook) is precisely what has made Justin the huge, modern-day celebrity he is today. So whether you’re an avid fan or a cynical non-Belieber, ‘Never Say Never’ is an insightful, uplifting look at the world’s biggest teen phenomenon. The film opens nationwide Feb. 11, just in time for millions of adoring young ladies to spent some quality time with the Biebs in theaters on Valentine’s Day. Justin Bieber Greets Fans In New ‘Never Say Never’ Clip

Manager Scooter Braun says he gets paid ‘to just make other people happy.’ By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber greets a fan in a “Never Say Never” clip Photo: Paramount In four weeks, Justin Bieber’s 3-D flick, “Never Say Never,” will be in theaters. As fans gear up for the film event of 2011, Ryan Seacrest shared a never-before-released clip from the Bieber film, which opens on February 11 . In the video, Bieber performs an acoustic version of “Baby.” The performance footage is combined with scenes of him greeting his fans, something manager Scooter Braun admits is the highlight of working with the teen superstar. “Me and the guy from ‘Extreme Home Makeover’ have the best jobs in the world,” Braun explains in the new clip. “It’s actually the most gratifying thing about the job. Little things go a very long way. You get paid to just make other people happy.” Braun admits that it really doesn’t take much to make a Bielieber happy, just some primo seats to a Bieber show. “You give them free tickets and they’re usually in the first 10 rows,” Braun further explains. “If it weren’t for those kids out there, we don’t have jobs.” This is only the latest peek at the forthcoming film. A few weeks ago a clip of Bieber drumming as a kid was released. In it, his mom recalls his early days. “He never had any lessons or anything. I just never thought of it being anything other than for fun,” Bieber’s mother, Pattie Mallette, says. The film’s director, Jon Chu, told MTV News that he was nervous showing Bieber cuts of the film because he worried that the singer wouldn’t be happy with the way he told his story. “I mean, I’m always nervous. We’re always trying to make our movies better,” he explained. “We’re never done with it, though. I just keep going until they tell me I’ve run out of time. So [Justin] got to see it this week, which was really exciting, and he loved it, which is always scary when you try to show someone the story of their life, but he’s been very supportive, he and his family and his team. I’m excited to share it with the world and show another side of 3-D. With ‘Step Up 3D,’ we learned a lot of lessons and we discovered a lot of things, and it’s just the beginning.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Justin Beiber’s Beach Party In St Lucia

Justin Beiber is on vacation in one of the southernmost Caribbean islands and he is the same bundle of energy at the beach as he is on stage!   The teen sensation was seen jet skiing and wakeboarding on Friday.  We can see in the photos HERE that Bieber is a star in the water and out as he picked up the tricky sport with ease.  The 16-year-old singer kept eager fans at bay with two of his bodyguards in tow as he enjoyed the afternoon on the private beach with two of his male dancers.    He tweeted about his day in the surf saying: Sickday!!@liltwist punched out though and only went tubing. I hit the wakeboard with @lordbieber. Jumped the wake. “Justin was pretty good,” said an onlooker, also staying at the BodyHoliday LeSport Resort. “He’s really quite proficient and looked like he was having a great time.” The 16-year-old singer kept eager fans at bay with two of his bodyguards in tow as he enjoyed the afternoon on the private beach with two of his male dancers.  His mom, Pattie Mallette, is also at the sunshine resort. She flew out after her son was photographed getting cozy with 18-year-old Selena Gomez.  Do we sense that Pattie is playing duenna here?  Does she want to make sure that little Justin remains a virgin for as long as possible?  Selena has removed her Purity ring is Ma Beiber worried that Justin will follow? Did Justin Bieber’s Mom Bust Up His Vacation With Selena Gomez?

Justin Bieber’s mom, Pattie Mallette, jetted to St. Lucia after the 16-year-old was photographed cuddling up to 18-year-old Selena Gomez on a yacht. The teen stars, who were holidaying with friends, were also seen kissing and cuddling around a private resort on the northern part of the island together. But their cover was blown when a member of their party posted a picture on Twitter. A source told us, “Justin and Selena arrived on a private jet together from Atlanta with friends and his manager. They then took a helicopter together to the resort, where they stayed in two villas and celebrated New Year’s Eve. They were determined to stay unseen, but someone posted a view of the resort on Twitter. Selena left on Jan. 2, leaving Justin alone with his bodyguard, in time for his mom to arrive.” A rep for Justin said the story was “false,” adding, “No picture was ever posted on Twitter. Pattie Mallette is on a scheduled vacation with her son. All is well in paradise.”

Justin Bieber says he’s crazy but wants to make fans happy in Vanity Fair interview

Vanity Fair Cover [HMG Celebrity News] – Since his debut on YouTube in 2008 Justin Bieber has experienced a rise to stardom that is almost without equal. His legions of fans rarely see the real Justin, but in a 1-on-1 interview the young singer reveals how he sees himself; Im crazy, Im nuts, he tells Vanity Fair . Just the way my brain works. Im not normal. I think differently my mind is always racing. The 16-year old says his style is shaped by ‘the great musicians,’ among whom he lists the Beatles, Michael Jackson, and Tupac Shakur; Im definitely influenced by Michael Jackson and Boyz II Men and black artists – thats what I like. he admits. Michael Jackson was able to reach audiences from young to old; Everybody loved him, and thats what my goal is – to basically make people happy, to inspire them and to have everyone root for me. But success that brings two sold-out tours and nineteen awards in less than three years comes at a price; Justin now feels he has no normal life; A regular kid, if he catches the flu, he just gets to go home, Bieber explains. But I cant do that. Everything is important. But my sanity’s important, too. Even if Im angry, Ill just smile and fake it. I have to give up a lot of myself, or a lot of a private life. Justin also tells the mag he wants to visit the moon, or at least outer space, that he hated school, gets tutored on the road and sometimes even suffers insomnia; I just turn over all night and think, he admits. My mind races. I think about all the things I didnt have time to think about during the day – things that should be important but you dont have time for because you get caught up in everything else. Among the long list of topics seems to be his tween-age fans; Justin smugly admits they all scream because he’s Justin Bieber but he’s pretty sure they also cry out because he’s so cute. If I walked down the street and a girl saw me, she might take a look back because Im good-looking, right? is the conceited inquiry. But Justin also seems aware that success on this scale can easily crumble; Of course, I think people are just waiting for when I make a mistake, and theyre gonna jump on it, he muses. Theres gonna be haters. But Im not going to make a life-changing bad decision. Ive seen it happen too many times, but I dont want to mess this up. Justin’s swift vault to stardom began when his mom, Pattie Mallette posted a video on YouTube. Explaining that a personal meeting with God had convinced her that she and her son were sent to bring light to the world, Pattie recalls that beginning; We put up one video for Grandma and the family to see,” she tells the reporters. “The next thing we knew, all these strangers were clicking on it….Then it was Oh look, honey, you have 100 views. Then Oh wow, a thousand views. Next thing we knew, thousands of views. But it never occurred to me there’d be a music career out of this. Well, there is. And Justin already has plans for its future; I see myself just growing, he tells the scribes. I grew up in a really small town, and I liked singing. But it was just a hobby. As I get into it, I want to grow as an artist, and basically perfect my craft. I want to be the best I can be. Most fans would argue there’s no scope for improvement. while millions of others still think he’s a dork. But let’s get your views if you’re a fan, what’s the appeal. And how could he grow and develop from here?…
