Rumors of Robert Pattinson taking a break from acting to record and release a CD , which have cropped up sporadically over the years, have been premature. But not entirely inaccurate. In an interview this week with French station TF1, the Twilight Saga star was asked about a future in music and replied: “Maybe one day… I’m always playing and recording but I don’t know. People hate when actors become musicians so I’ve been avoiding it for the longest possible.” Please, Rob. Your fans love it when you do pretty much anything. ‘Ew, get that thing off me! Get me a real baby!’ Kristen Stewart remembers of the animatronic baby used as Bella and Edward’s daughter. By Kara Warner Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart at 2011 Comic-Con Photo: WireImage SAN DIEGO — After taking last year off from San Diego Comic-Con , the cast of the “Twilight Saga” returned to the famed pop-culture extravaganza in a very big way. There was new “Breaking Dawn” footage screened before a crowd of 6,000, food gifts presented to fans via the castmembers themselves and talk of the awkwardness involved in filming sex scenes. It was a lot to take in. Here is our list of the top five “Twilight”-themed moments witnessed during SDCC 2011: Castmembers Treat Fans to Breakfast “Twilight” fans are known for their extreme loyalty and passion for the film franchise and its stars. As such, every time the cast has made the trek to San Diego for an appearance, thousands of fans line up outside the Con’s famous Hall H — many of whom camp out for days ahead of time. This year, castmembers Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed, Elizabeth Reaser, Booboo Stewart and Julia Jones surprised a bunch of lucky fans with an early-morning wake-up call that included a gift of muffins and fruit. Wedding Scene Was Filmed “Secret-Service Style” As much as they can, the “Breaking Dawn” cast and crew try to keep spoilers and set photos from being snapped and released on the Internet. But nothing has been as secretive and protected as Bella’s wedding dress. Kristen Stewart explained the great lengths that were taken during filming. “The wedding was secret-service style. It was insane. The crew was completely inconvenienced and grumbling around set,” she said at the “Breaking Dawn” press conference at San Diego Comic-Con. Stewart didn’t let their efforts go unnoticed. “You don’t understand what this means to us,” she told the security team. “If this dress gets on the Internet, I’ll die.” Bella and Edward’s Baby Terrified Its Onscreen Parents There has been much ado about the “Rosemary’s Baby”-esque birthing scene Stephenie Meyer wrote in “Breaking Dawn.” Specifically, the end of that scene when Bella brings a half-human, half-vampire baby into the world. According to the scene’s key participants, Stewart and Robert Pattinson, what should have been warm and fuzzy was actually horrifying. “We had an animatronic baby, the scene where [Bella] had to be introduced to the baby for the first time,” Pattinson explained during Thursday’s press conference. Stewart explained that although the scene is one of her favorites in the book, the fact that the baby bore more of a resemblance to Chuckie from “Child’s Play” than a real newborn made the scene a bit awkward. “[The puppeteer] is sweating right below my eyeline, trying to [reach] up to get the [animatronic baby’s] hand up to touch your face,” Stewart recalled. “And then it sticks to your hair and pulls a little bit and you’re like, ‘Ew, get that thing off me! Get me a real baby, this is ridiculous!’ ” she said. “And it had hair!” “If you’ve ever seen a baby with a wig on …,” Pattinson offered. “[It] looked like a little troll on a stick.” Seven-Minute Clip Teases “Honeymoon” Scene Of all the scenes fans are most looking forward to seeing in “Breaking Dawn,” the honeymoon scene is at the top of the list. And the lucky 6,000 fans who attended the film’s panel Thursday were treated to a steamy sneak peek, along with about seven minutes of new footage from the film. Pattinson told us the key to getting around the awkwardness involved in filming that scene was to go for it. “You just get lubed up and jump right into it!” RPattz joked. “You have to have some tantric breathing and stuff.” Pattinson Likens Himself to Processed Meat Speaking of brilliant Pattinson quotes, one of our favorites occurred when the heartthrob had to address appearing shirtless on camera. “The thing I was most nervous about was taking my shirt off,” Pattinson said of which scenes he was most anxious about. “I don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up,” Pattinson self-deprecatingly added, referring to what fans will see of his torso in the film and preview footage. “I look like an inflatable frankfurter in some of those [scenes].” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” and “Part 2.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . ‘With this album, I want to tell a whole story,’ Drake tells Rolling Stone. By Alvin Blanco Drake Photo: Getty Images While hip-hop heads are eyeing the throne, more details are being revealed about Drake’s highly anticipated sophomore album, Take Care. After releasing a handful of songs via his blog (including “Marvin’s Room” and “Dreams Money Can Buy”), the Toronto rapper and YMCMB representative reportedly will soon be dropping his new album’s proper lead single “Headlines” and has also divulged info about a few more songs on the project. Drake let loose an obvious clue about his official single with a tweet on July 18 that read simply, “Headlines.” On Thursday, it was confirmed that there is a song called “Headlines” and it was produced by longtime Drake producers and collaborators Matthew “Boi-1da” Samuels and Noah “40” Shebib, according to HipHopDX . Ironically, despite all the speculation on what his new album’s first single will be, Drake expressed his disdain of single tracks. “I hate singles. … With this album, I want to tell a whole story,” Drake told Rolling Stone . “I don’t want people to just hear a piece and judge the album on that.” In the interview, conducted in the Toronto studio where he is recording the album, Drake revealed the titles to three songs: “Shot for Me,” “Free Spirit” and “The Real Her.” “Free Spirit” features Rick Ross, and “The Real Her” features Drake’s Young Money benefactor Lil Wayne. Drake also mentioned his desire to collaborate with an eclectic mix of musicians for Take Care, including R&B crooner Abel Tesfaye of the Weeknd, storied hip-hop producer DJ Premier, and indie rockers Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine’s and producer Jamie Smith of the xx. Take Care is due in stores October 24, which happens to be Drake’s birthday. Related Videos MTV News Extended Play: Drake Related Artists Drake
‘You have to have some tantric breathing and stuff,’ he jokes to MTV News at Comic-Con. By Ryan J. Downey, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson at the San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday Photo: Getty Images SAN DIEGO — What kind of preparation went into the steamy love scenes in ” The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part I “? Well, if Robert Pattinson is to be believed, there was very little. “You just get lubed up and jump right into it!” he proclaimed to MTV News while backstage at San Diego Comic-Con shortly after making an appearance on a panel with his “Breaking Dawn” castmates and director Bill Condon. The group answered questions from Comic-Con attendees and treated them to footage from the upcoming flick, which is the second-to-last film adaptation in the epic saga. Fan familiarity with Stephanie Meyer’s “Twilight” novels means anticipation has been high for several elements of “Breaking Dawn,” including a wedding, a birth and perhaps the most anticipated of all: the sex scenes. Smiling broadly, RPattz added: “You have to have some tantric breathing and stuff.” All joking aside, it was pretty clear once Pattinson continued talking that there was, in fact, a bit of planning put into the onscreen depiction of Edward Cullen and Bella Swan getting down to some romantic business. “Everyone always says it about sex scenes in movies — it’s really awkward and blah, blah, blah — but it is!” he pointed out. Ultimately, he likened it to a popular board game. “You’re playing Twister,” Pattinson deadpanned. With “Twilight” mania still in full swing, it might be hard for moviegoers to imagine seeing the chemistry between Pattinson and Kristen Stewart re-created within the context of different characters in another story, but that doesn’t mean Pattinson wouldn’t be up for re-teaming with her in a non-“Twilight” film. “I’d love to. Definitely,” he told us without hesitation. “I don’t know how audiences would respond to it or whatever, [but] I’d love to.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . In one of two new clips premiered at the San Diego event, newly married Bella and Edward Cullen get steamy in the ocean. By Terri Schwartz Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in “Breaking Dawn” Photo: Summit SAN DIEGO — It was the swoon heard ’round the San Diego Convention center, as the honeymoon scene from “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” debuted at Comic-Con . Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner premiered two brand-new scenes from the highly anticipated movie on Thursday (July 21) in Hall H, where more than 6,000 fans had flocked to see their favorite stars. The honeymoon scene, which Twilighters got a glimpse of in a teaser trailer that aired during this year’s MTV Movie Awards, was definitely the hit of the panel. The scene starts with Edward Cullen carrying the newly minted Bella Cullen over the threshold at their honeymoon location, the fictional Isle Esme. One of the most distinct elements of the scene was how adult both Stewart and Pattinson look, marking their transition to married couple. After exchanging a lingering steamy look in their beautiful tropical bedroom, Bella asks Edward for “a few human minutes.” “Don’t take too long, Mrs. Cullen,” Edward replies, causing an echo of sighs around Hall H. What follows is a cute sequence with Bella taking some personal time in the bathroom to brush her teeth, shave her legs, pick out a sexy outfit (her new sister-in-law Alice packed only lingerie for her) and shake off her nerves before getting ready to consummate her marriage. After telling herself, “Don’t be a coward,” Bella walks outside to the beach in only a towel and sees Edward standing naked in the ocean. She lets her towel fall to the sand, and then walks out to meet her husband in the ocean — right as the clip ends. Filming the scene, though, was not as romantic as it looks on the big screen, according to the “Breaking Dawn” stars. “Brazil was amazing,” Pattinson said of the shooting location. “It was really amazing the day we got there, and really beautiful and warm and everything you’d expect. Then it suddenly, for the remainder of the shoot, was not only raining but like hurricane storms. … It was kind of like having a honeymoon in England. We were playing board games instead of, like, making love on the beach.” Taylor Lautner’s character, Jacob Black, was the focus of the second scene that debuted at Comic-Con. Among the castmembers who also make appearances in it are Peter Facinelli and Elizabeth Reaser, who play Cullen patriarch and matriarch Carlisle and Esme, as well as members of the wolf pack, including Julia Jones, Booboo Stewart, Alex Meraz, Bronson Pelletier, Tyson Houseman and Kiowa Gordon. The first half of the second scene shows Jacob meeting with Carlisle and Esme. He warns them about facing off against wolf pack leader Sam Uley, but Carlisle and Esme tell Jacob they will risk their lives to protect Bella. Then Jacob and his followers, Leah and Seth Clearwater, head to a meeting with the now-enemy werewolves Paul, Quil, Jared and Embry. Jacob asks them to tell Sam that when Bella’s baby is born, he will be the “the one to destroy it.” “I’m the only one who can,” he explains. “They trust me.” Lautner comes to the forefront in “Part 1,” but he said he was jealous that his special-effects wolf form got to do many more action scenes than he did. “I wish I could be actually doing that. I’m super jealous of my CGI wolf, though he is pretty cute and fluffy,” Lautner admitted to the San Diego crowd. But that doesn’t mean he didn’t endure some scrapes. Lautner said he actually got a bit bruised by Pattinson during one of the movie’s key moments: the birthing scene. “He gives me a nice punch in this [scene] after he finds out I imprinted on his daughter,” Lautner said with a laugh.
