By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson Photo: MTV News Thanks to all the quality time MTV News has been getting with Robert Pattinson lately, via our “MTV First: Robert Pattinson” and “Water for Elephants” interviews, we’ve been able to glean a few fun details from the “Twilight” superstar about his upcoming projects, including the highly anticipated “Breaking Dawn: Part 1,” of course, as well as the slightly more mysterious “Cosmopolis.” What we know so far is that Pattinson will be directed by David Cronenberg in the role of young finance guru Eric Packer, opposite Sarah Gadon , who recently signed on to play Packer’s estranged wife. The novel is a modern reinterpretation of James Joyce’s classic “Ulysses,” set in New York in the year 2000, around the burst of the dot-com bubble. Most of the action in the book takes place over the course of one day, in the limousine Packer takes to his various errands. When MTV News caught up with Pattinson, we asked him for his thoughts on his new co-star. “I’ve seen a couple of things she’s done. She’s really good,” Pattinson said of Gadon. “She has a great face. … I haven’t talked to her yet, but I think it’s going to be a great cast.” Regarding other prep work he’s doing before filming begins sometime next month, Pattinson is getting some voice coaching. “I’m working with a dialect coach now. ‘He’s not nice at all in this,’ actress tells MTV News of RPattz’s scheming character. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson Photo: Steve Granitz/ WireImage The loyal Robert Pattinson fans out there are very likely already aware that the megastar will be showing off a lot more than just his acting talents in the upcoming film “Bel Ami.” To quote Pattinson himself , the steamy period drama will feature “a lot of my crack. … I think there’s quite a bit of nudity.” When MTV News caught up with actress Natalia Tena (better known as Nymphadora Tonks to the “Harry Potter” fans) at the DVD premiere of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1” on Monday, she revealed that she is one of several lovely ladies who gets hot and heavy with Pattinson in “Bel Ami.” When asked if she shared scenes with “Twilight” heartthrob, Tena said, “I do. Some naughty scenes.” When we brought up the fact that the “Twilight” star told us about how much of his “crack” we’ll see, Tena added that there’s a lot more than that. “There is a lot of everything in that,” she said. “But the thing is, I knew him before all the ‘Twilight’ stuff. We used to hang out for a bit, so it was a bit weird [during filming]. I was like, ‘All right, mate, come on, let’s do it! It will be fun!’ ” Tena said audiences will definitely see a different side of Pattinson’s acting abilities in “Bel Ami.” “He’s not nice at all in this,” she said. “Which is great, because he’s going to break away from that [teen heartthrob] thing and show that he can play those roles, which is so important as an actor to not stay on that same path.” Another of his “Bel Ami” co-stars, Uma Thurman , echoed Tena’s statements during an interview with MTV News recently, calling Pattinson a “really serious actor.” “I think he’s incredibly concrete in his presence on the set and obviously is very handsome,” she said. “[He] is a very nice person and he’s sensitive. ‘She’s an incredible creature,’ RPattz tells MTV News of ‘Water for Elephants’ focal point Tai. By Aly Semigran, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson Photo: MTV News Robert Pattinson has certainly had some very nice things to say about his “Water for Elephants” leading lady Reese Witherspoon, recently telling MTV News that she has a “nice energy about her.” But it’s obvious that RPattz holds a special place in his heart for another female co-star: Tai the Elephant. “She’s an incredible creature,” the 24-year-old actor said of his famous pachyderm co-star. In fact, he and Tai (Pattinson previously joked that she has “done way more movies than I have”) got incredibly close at one point. Pattinson revealed to MTV News that he actually got in Tai’s mouth, describing the moment as “the most incredible thing in the world. You’re being lifted up by her gums. … She puts just the right amount of pressure on so she isn’t hurting you. It’s so strange.” But it wasn’t just the closeness he and Tai shared on the “Water for Elephants” set that made him appreciate working with a wild animal. “The best thing is that it takes away from the mundane [parts] of the day. If you’re doing 20 takes or something, and there’s a character who’s going to be doing something totally different every time, it’s always exciting. It’s like working with a full-on method actor who’s just improvising,” Pattinson said of the experience. Still, it’s not always a day in the park working with animals, as Pattinson and Witherspoon quickly came to find out. As he recalled during “MTV First: Robert Pattinson,” one day on the set, his beloved Tai let loose the “most incredible fart into Reese’s face … like a hurricane. Thunderous.” Even Pattinson had his moments where Tai’s presence was a distraction. “If there’s, like, an actual moment you have to get across [emotion], and suddenly there’s, like, a trunk in your face,” Pattinson said with a laugh. Still, the actor seemed to find that the positives outweighed the negatives when it came to working with Tai and all the other “Water for Elephants” animals. “It’s incredible,” he said. “It just makes everything more interesting.” “Water for Elephants” arrives in theaters April 20. ‘Water for Elephants’ star calls for ‘the ‘Twilight’ troops to mobilize.’ By Aly Semigran, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson Photo: MTV News Twihards, your call to action for retribution and justice has come. And, the call, by the way, is coming from none other than Robert Pattinson . When MTV News caught up with “Twilight” star Pattinson on Sunday, a hot topic was those leaked ” Breaking Dawn ” photos that hit the Web (and were swiftly taken down), and the star was obviously fuming mad about the whole thing. “It’s just ridiculous. I literally can’t believe that it happened,” Pattinson said regarding the photos, which show his character, Edward, and Bella (Kristen Stewart) on their honeymoon and Bella going through what appears to be her vampire transformation. Pattinson, who said he wanted to speak to us about the leaked pictures “because MTV seemed like the right place to do it,” immediately asked for help from the series’ most hard-core — and equally ticked-off — fans. “I want the ‘Twilight’ troops to mobilize, all the good fans, and find out who these little sh–s are and just hack into their computers and destroy them,” RPattz said with a laugh, later adding, “I’m being genuinely serious, ‘Twilight’ fans … Punish them.” In fact, the 24-year-old star — who is promoting his latest flick, the period drama “Water for Elephants” — then asked Twihards to do him another favor while they are bringing down the culprits: “Find out who hacked into my e-mail address, too, and destroy them,” he urged. It wasn’t just the content of the leaked images that bothered Pattinson so much — “It’s raw footage: It’s not even what people are going to see,” he noted — but the intention behind it. “Why do this maliciously? You’re not a fan. You’re just a di–,” he said, once again with a laugh, adding,”That’s all there is to it. “I’d understand it more if they sold the stuff,” he continued, referring to those who pulled the online stunt. “But, it’s like, ‘Oh, you just want to be annoying?’ ” At one point, with an exasperated sigh, the actor called the people responsible for the leaks “idiots.” Pattinson also said he was angry on behalf of all of those who are currently working on the final two installments of the wildly popular saga, saying the leaks are frustrating “especially when you’ve been working on something for eight months.” “It’s an exciting movie, and everything is so different, and a lot of people have worked really, really hard.” Of course, Pattinson wasn’t the only one upset by the leak. On Friday, Summit Entertainment, “Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer, “Breaking Dawn” director Bill Condon and producer Wyck Godfrey released a statement on Facebook that read, “As some of you may know, pictures and screen grabs of ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn’ as a work in progress have leaked on the Internet. We are extremely proud of this film and also extremely heartbroken to see it out there at this stage. The film and these images are not yet ready or in their proper context. They were illegally obtained and their early dissemination is deeply upsetting to the actors, the filmmakers and Summit who are working so hard to bring these movies to fruition to you in November 2011 and November 2012.” The message went on to urge, “Please, for those who are posting, stop. And please, though the temptation is high, don’t view or pass on these images. Wait for the film in its beautiful, finished entirety to thrill you.” Luckily, the photos, which have mostly been all but erased from the Web, didn’t even reach Pattinson. The star, who revealed that he and Stewart haven’t filmed their “Breaking Dawn” wedding scene yet, nor has he seen Bella’s wedding dress , noted, “I didn’t even see the leaks.” Sound off about the leaked “Breaking Dawn” photos in the comments section below.
